Waverley Restaurant in Allerdale

Ordered Senior roast beef Sunday lunch with roast potatoes instead of mash or boiled. When it arrived there was one small roast potato, frozen peas, frozen sprouts and soggy carrot sticks. Roast beef was Ok, stuffing was tasteless and Yorkshire pudding was acceptable. Really disappointed as have visited in the past and enjoyed.

Locals of Workington may tell you that the Waverly is not worth a visit, possibly due to previous management, however this is far from the truth. Visiting for a family lunch we found a very extensive menu (including a separate vegetarian menu, just as versatile) at very affordable prices. The food was fantastic and perhaps the best in Workington. There is also a sizeable bar.
