Popped in here late morning and had a wonderful bacon roll and drinks too. Service with a smile, efficient. The cakes looked amazing too. Toilets were immaculate too. Thank you

Staying in Corbridge for a week. Popped in for coffee and couldn't resist something from their wonderful cake selection. Opted for Date Crumble slice and Ginger cake, both came highly recommended and were delicious. Returned later in the week for breakfast. Again we were not disappointed. Had Eggs Benedict and Scrambled Eggs with Salmon. We left with take away Date Crumble as it was so good. Would recommend this cafe. Food and coffee excellent and service from lovely friendly staff. Pity we don't live nearer.

Fabulous Coffee House. Great food and very welcoming staff. We have visited Corbridge twice now and on each occasion came here for coffee and then came back the same day to sample the delicious lunches. Will be back in 2025

Me and my girlfriend came here this afternoon for some lunch and we were not disappointed, we both got caramel lattés which were really tasty, I got the coronation ciabatta with salad and the presentation was impeccable. It also tasted as good as it looked too. My girlfriend got the bacon Brie and cranberry ciabatta and was very pleased with that too. We will definitely be back on our next trip up to corbridge, see you again soon :)

This coffee shop is great. Local, friendly service. But most importantly for Americans is they have filter coffee. Not watered down espresso but actual filtered coffee. It’s wonderful. Also it’s in Corbridge which is a great little town.

Friendly Staff, Beautiful Fruit Scones with Cream, Lovely Cappucinos and Lattes. Would definitely recommend and return when in area.

My cappuccino was the worst I have ever tasted.Way over priced and The food looked basic.The young waitress was friendly and lovely but the cappuccino was like strong water.Unfortunately we won't be returning.The deli was so much better

We had a lovely lunch. I had quiche which was a really decent portion with various salads and served warm. My husband had a lovely soup and roll. We both had delicious cake and the staff were so friendly and polite it was a great lunch stop. The menu looked really varied and definitely recommend going there.

Seemed really nice from the outside. However, when we entered, the waitress was very abrupt, very unprofessional and definitely needs a few lessons in customer service. Hence, we didn't stay and went elsewhere. Would not go back to this place and would not recommend it.

Lovely lunch! I had quiche with trimmings my friend had the pork and stuffing roll with the added soup the experience and homely atmosphere was just what we needed. Staff were very helpful and friendly we will definitely return.

Lovely cafe in Corbridge. We called in for breakfast.Unfortunately we called in a little after the breakfast menu had finished but the lovely staff still allowed us to have bacon sandwiches which were excellent as was the great pot of tea. Would definitely go back.

Excellent choice; great quality and fantastic, friendly staff. One of our group is gluten intolerant and she was particularly well taken care of.

After a long car journey we came here for a snack and waited a few minutes. Asked if we could order a snack however as it was 5 past 3 and they stopped serving food at 3 this would not be possible. The server added rather dismissively that we would not be able to eat anywhere else in Corbridge as no where served food after 3. We left and took a walk on Corbridge high street where we able to get 2 nice sandwiches at The Corbridge Larder with extremely helpful staff.

First stop en route to Tynemouth on our bikes , charming little cafe and had a lovely coffee and toasted tea cake ,great service especially from the smiley and attentive Natasha ! X

Excellent café, always popular with locals and visitors alike. Very friendly and efficient staff (Natasha is lovely and has a smile for everyone). My jacket potato with coronation chicken was yummy with a great assortment of salads to accompany it. My friends prawn and salmon open sandwich was also declared delicious. The free coffee top is a nice touch too.

Visited here today with my wife and two friends. The cafe was clean and well laid out and the first impression was good. We were served by a friendly chatty young lady and when the food came it was very good. Each dish had a side of homemade coleslaw and the salad had a tasty dressing. We asked about gluten free bread and Yes, they had it. The bacon was well cooked as was the egg on my bacon and egg batch/ barm / bap or whatever you call it . Very well presented and the drinks were piping hot. Will definitely return when we visit the North East again for New Year . Very well done Watling Coffee House.

First time at this cafe today. To meet up with my daughter and her partner. After being served with tea and coffee by a waitress, my wife went to use the bathroom. At the entrance to the kitchen my wife asked the same waitress for the location of the bathroom. This waitress went into an aggressive tirade about my wife coming 'off the street' to use the facilities. She would not let my wife explain that she was a customer and she had just served her. My wife eventually managed to inform this very rude person that she was a customer. No apology was given. My wife returned shaken and upset. We left very shortly. Oh! and the water in the tea tastes like chalk!!!

We were planning to have a quick lunch here before setting off for home. The welcome we got, complete with some classic eye rolling, soon put us off that idea and we settled for coffee instead. No idea why we were treated to the rudeness, especially as the place was not particularly busy.

Visited in the morning for a coffee and found everything so good - staff, product etc that we returned later for a light lunch. Again excellent service, tasty food and all very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend

Very friendly staff, excellent food with an original slant such as unique and delicious side salads, cheese scone with herbs. Everything was very fresh and we were even given the salad recipes verbally! We'll visit again, highly recommended.

What a fantastic place. Friendly staff. Great choice of food . This independent cafe really was a good find. There is a very comprehensive menu and the wait time wasn’t long considering considering the place was very busy. The eggs royale were the best I’ve ever had. Along with family or friends I have been visiting this coffee house frequently over the last two years. The food is home cooked, amazing quality, one is spoilt for choice whether one’s preference is savoury or sweet. And the coffee is great, nice and hot. Today I opted for one of my favourite snacks. the bacon, Brie and cranberry ciabatta and have to say that this one was the best I’ve ever had! The staff are consistently friendly, efficient and go out of their way to accommodate you even at very busy times. Corbridge is a beautiful village to visit, a trip to the Watling is the icing on the cake- and that’s tasty too! Thank you and wishing you continued success in the future.

This has always been my favourite cafe in Corbridge so I was looking forward to calling for coffee and scones last week. The food was as good as ever and I felt the staff were doing everything possible to ensure safety and comfort for both employees and visitors. Will definitely call again soon.

We decided to visit as it had top place in Corbridge. Wandered in and received smiles but not a lot of interaction. Found a table and waited, not sure if table service. Staff member came through and was busy chatting to a couple who were obviously locals. Cleared their plates, topped up their coffees etc but did eventually come to take our order. She was lovely and quickly returned with drinks, checking if we wanted our food to come together or just when ready. My scone was delivered and was very tasty. The bacon sandwich appeared shortly after with few pleasantries. That was the last contact with staff at our table. Other locals were welcomed with a chat and one man was repeatedly offered more drinks etc. We would have had another coffee (or refill of my filter) but no-one came over. When I went up to the toilet (very clean) all the staff were chatting in the kitchen. Paid after that, weren't asked if everything was ok etc. So top notch food, nice coffee, not so hot on the welcome and service but equally not terrible by any means.

Visited here en route to stay with family locally. We thoroughly enjoyed 2 Teacakes with butter and 2 Cappuccinos. It was not expensive and the service was excellent. Clearly it's a popular cafe for locals which is always a good sign!The specials board had some very interesting choices and the food served at other tables looked absolutely delicious.Would strongly recommend visiting this place, although there were many temporary [Gas] roadworks nearby which made parking quite difficult.

I popped in for a coffee and a cake with my grandma last week. The selection of cakes was amazing. I chose a slice of victoria sponge and a flat white, and my grandma had an americano and a fruit scone. Both were delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive to us. Will be back again soon!

Having been walking in the snow covered hills we were in need of hot coffee and warmth. Our first visit, my son and a friend; my son chose Watling Coffee House. A pleasant atmosphere, our planned short stop lasted an hour, relaxing and getting warmth back into our bones . . .
