We called here and decided to go in the cafe for a drink I had a Cappuccino my husband had a scone and an American with milk. When my Cappuccino arrived I had half a cup,it was luke warm and there was no froth. It tasted like a normal very strong coffee My husbands Americans tasted awful and the scone was very dry.Neither of us could drink the coffees and my husband could not finish his scone. We were told at the till that the coffee machine can only be heated to a certain heat otherwise it burns the coffee beans. I think if I was them I would have to look at getting a better coffee machine

We'd stopped at this garden centre about 5 years ago and it was pretty much of a muchness. Now there are new owners and boy what a difference. I can't eat much because I have a gastric bypass and asked if I could choose from the children's menu for lunch. My husband, who habitually doesn't eat during the day said he wasn't hungry. I was told eating from the children's menu was no problem at all - I opted for fish fingers and chips. Very thoughtfully, I was offered mash instead of chips and it was truly the nicest mash I had ever had. Soft, smooth and buttery. It went down very well. My husband was persuaded to have a cream tea with the scones fresh out of the oven. Lynn who had served us told me that she was using a recipe used by the Australian winner of Masterchef down under. We chatted very easily with her and it was so lovely. At the end I was given the scone recipe and not charged for the second cup of tea that I had. I wish all cafes could be like this. It felt as if our custom was genuinely wanted and we received excellent service and help. If only the café wasn't 62 miles from home or we'd be regulars there. Thanks very much Lyn! Tony & Fiona

Best cafe in the area for freshly cooked homemade meals. Great service from the friendly ladies who own and run the cafe, they always have a smile and a chat and are very welcoming to families with children, with highchairs, colouring books and crayons available. Always lovely and clean and the food is to die for. The cooked breakfasts are tasty and generous, and the homemade pies are amazing! They do lovely coffees too. A brilliant place to visit. Highly recommended.

Dropped in again for a coffee and was pleasantly surprised to find that the cafe was now owned by the lady who had originally owned it. She makes a good cup of coffee, but not only that. I was given a guided tour of the craft room where Santa's elves were preparing gifts for a local good cause. It's a very friendly place and is well worth a stop.

Lynn and her grandson were very warm and made us feel like we were her family. We were never once left out in the cold and all the staff were like one big happy family. They stop serving food after three but we would expect that when it was raining cats and dogs outside and the whether was arctic like. The warmth of both customers and staff in the Garden Centre, Aquarium and cafe itself cannot be real. The people were unbelievably kind. We cannot express adequately in words but would pay £20 just to go into the garden centre and the cafe, just to have an experience of what a bit of heaven was like. [We have not encountered such kindness in fifty years in this world, this side of life].

We had travelled non stop from Derby on our way to Anglesey, with nowhere to stop for a cuppa en route until we decided to try this garden center. The cafe looks a little shabby from outside, dont be fooled, the inside is clean and done out nicely, vintagey style. The lovely ladies who served us welcomed our dog, offered water and a sausage for him and some friendly chat for us. It was just the pick me up we needed on a long journey. We were able to sit inside the cafe with our dog. The food was good and reasonably priced, the homemade scones were large, tasty and liberally spread with butter. i wish we had had time for a lunch as it was such good value for money. When we travel this way again we will be stopping here again for sure.

Been here several times now and can only give a glowing review for each time. The food has always been fantastic, proper home cooked fresh meals. The 'Full Monty' breakfast is second to none and such good value. We brought some scones home with us last time - they were gorgeous. We always have a laugh whenever we go - no matter how busy they are the ladies will have a chat and there is always a good atmosphere in the place. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a good honest meal with a friendly face behind the counter.

I visit the Crafty Corner Cafe regularly for one of their fabulous Full Monty full English breakfasts. I always request a takeout which they have always done with pleasure, even very kindly providing a plate and a tray before arrival of their takeout boxes! Nothing is too much trouble for any of the lovely ladies that run the cafe, and the food and service is second to none. I have even been provided with their number to enable me to phone my order ahead. On arrival the food is always ready despite placing the order only 5-10 minutes earlier. The food is always well insulated and a bag is also provided with cutlery, napkins and both brown sauce and red sauce sachets. The attention to detail does not go unnoticed! A cold drink alternative to tea or coffee is also gratefully received. Despite my need for takeout the attractive and comfortable surroundings of the cafe have not gone unnoticed. It is bright and spacious and extremely inviting to all who pass by. The delicious home-baked scones on the counter are very inviting too! I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Crafty Corner Cafe team for their fabulous food and the fabulous service they provide. I don't know what I would do without you! Thank you ladies! While travelling back from Yorkshire we called into the garden centre for a break and some refreshments. Crafty is the correct name, as the lady serving the ice cream had a craft of her own. Rolling the ice cream scoop so small in 2 perfect tiny balls , we couldn't see 2 scoops in the small tub. Which made us laugh after as she said she couldn't fit 2 scoops on a cornet. Omg the cornet must be minute then. I wish I wasn't so polite and should have said £2.50 was a crazy price to pay for it. What a rip off. The ice cream must last them years !!!! 50p would have been to much. Imagine tiny child's bouncing balls or my pet chihuahua is small his toy balls are bigger, I am not joking. And the flavours were not very nice a tad chalky.

More of just a cafe than a restaurant, but food is good and staff helpful.I think, privately owned and obviously not splashing the cash - be far better as a smaller, more concentrated outlet rather than trying to cover every aspect as do the bigger ones with the cash to spend.

We visited the Waterways Garden Centre Cafe twice in a week (a sale was on in the garden centre) for hot drinks. The cafe is constructed out of portacabins and considering this it's quite nicely done up inside. Tea and coffee were both OK, we can't complain about the quality and the price. The tea for one came in a pot with two teabags and enough for at least three cups. The Americano coffee was served filling only half the mug but presumably it could have been topped up if one wanted a bigger but weaker brew; as it was it was about the right strength for a single shot. The staff were pleasant. Next to the cafe is the huge feature pond packed with fish and different water plants and also the play area if you go with children. As mentioned in the headline, this cafe is pleasant enough for a garden centre cafe but the planned redevelopment is certainly necessary.

Came here a few weeks ago on a sunday, received a fantastic breakfast with great service from the 2 girls workin who were obviously rushed off there feet but still could not do enough for you. Now the downside... decided to return end of last week.. what a joke the woman working looked like she could do without another customer she was also rushed off her feet and it definately came across in her attitude towards the customers. Call in the cavalry!! A bumbling man came to help her i use the word help lightly. Slow service food slapped on plate cold sausages burnt eggs. My advise dont visit on a busy weekday dinnertime as you will see the bad side.

Although operating out of a big portacabin, trouble has been taken to make the inside cosy and welcoming. Staff were friendly and food was excellent value for money. Very prompt service. Lite bites and mains on the menu. 2 eggs on toast for £2.00. Cheese and ham toastie with salad, dressing and some crisps was about £3.50 and with a pot of tea and a cappuccino the total bill was less than £10.00! Can't say fairer than that.

called to have some food , the cafe was freezing cold , when i asked if they would put the heating on , i was rudely told iy had been on once that morning, the manager was rude , said it cost a lot of money for the electric, ( we are all in the same boat, i was the only person in the cafe , i would not recommend it to anyone , i did ask to talk to Grace who runs it , but was told she was away on holiday, and i did point out that is probably why the place was empty, it was like sittin in a fridge .
