Great restaurant and service, squid was 10/10

Poor customer service- we asked to sit on a table in the sun, “no you can’t sit there” even tho the restaurant is completely empty, with 20 tables free. Then we asked, can we sit outside in the glass bubble, “no you have to book that for lunch” I said I called and booked for lunch…. This is called lazy customer service…no effect at all. Won’t be coming back again.

Amazed at how well this restaurant crosses over cuisine’s. Better English breakfast than most English cafes and great coffee too. 5 ⭐️

The food served was absolutely delicious. The only downside was that the staff were busy chatting amongst themselves or looking at their phones, so we had to call them over to order drinks and then again to place our order for food.

Update: we've been a couple of times since our initial visit and both have been very nice. Our most recent was Friday with our two daughters who absolutely loved the place - which is a relief to say the least. Our youngest is a vegetarian and our oldest is into sushi and both really enjoyed their meals. We went early which suits us well. All in all a nice place that is easy to recommend. ___________________________________ We stay nearby and were at a loose end and looking for somewhere to eat dinner. We hadn't booked but gave it a go. The welcome was extremely friendly and, as it happens, there was a table available. The place is, evidently, popular and, therefore, very busy so booking is advised. The staff were all excellent and the manager was amongst the most efficient I've ever seen. He never stopped keeping the place running smoothly. The food - tapas style (small plates not spanish) sushi and sides - was delicious. Don't eat for a while before (if you don't have a large appetite)so you can experience it fully as it is truly worth it. Our waitress (apologies I didn't get her name) was an absolute star and extremely helpful. Definitely a place we will come back to with our older children and friends and I'd highly recommend it.

Excellent food, just the right amount, very good service, not pushy and plenty of time to check the menus. Service with a smile plus attentive, always notice if you require more drinks etc. Good atmosphere not noisey, plenty of room to eat , no one pushing past.

We dropped in here thinking it was still the Cafe I remember. Wow its nothing like that any more Smart relaxed atmosphere with food that is clean light and incredibly yummy I was looking for a better word but couldn't If you're looking for authentic Asian in a relaxed atmosphere you have to visit Anyone out walking in the cotswold water park looking for light lunch- drop in you'll not regret it

We were staying at the Pochard lodges, so it was a very short walk away. Looks great inside, and the food and service were really good.

Good quality food. They need to work on serving it up at the same time for everyone 😉 It ruins the experience when you are eating and your friends are still waiting.

We booked after recommendation from friends and were not disappointed. Nice laid back atmosphere, great service. Not rushed at all so you can sit and enjoy a long lunch without any pressure of next sitting. Indoor dining and all year round terrace with heaters which is where we sat…it was really cosy. Chefs have an open kitchen so you can see your food being prepared. We had about 7 dishes and everything was delicious, really tasty and colourful, all freshly made. Probably the best gyoza I’ve had Small but decent wine list and cocktails look amazing. Our bill was around £100 with service, inc. bottle of wine. We felt it was well worth it. I highly recommend and will definitely be returning soon.

Lovely atmosphere, faux cherry blossom and flowers everywhere with display cases of their wines. Two parts to the Restaurant, you can sit inside or there is a covered area with lake views which is just as nice. Food-wise, we ordered a variety of sushi; squid; scallops; ribs; lamb curry; chicken karaage. All items were full of flavour and well presented. I found the portion sizes were rather small and didn’t represent value for money. I would expect a curry to come with rice and not have to pay additionally for this. A minor annoyance was the constant beeping of the smoke alarm battery which needed changing! I would return though.

We took a chance and booked a lunch on my wife's birthday. We'd heard good things about this place and wanted to check it out for ourselves. We weren't disappointed. If you like Asian fusion style food you will definitely enjoy this menu. We ordered beef teriyaki, Katsu Chicken, tempura vegetables and sticky rice. All were really delicious. The service was excellent, friendly, helpful and attentive. The restaurant has two sections, an inside and a well covered terrace. We initially thought we'd sit inside, but on a modestly warm day, the terrace is really nice. There is also outside seating in the garden. It turned out to be a really good meal on a special day. So we'll definitely be back.

Just up the road from De vere water park on our second night, this Asian resteraunt is a must if you visit the area, we went in on Friday night the food was excellent i can't recommend a particularly dish there are so many, the staff brilliant and friendly, they welcomed our lhasa apso dog's so go and visit you will not be disappointed. Thank you to all the staff.

I visited last week the staff member who greated me was very unwelcoming. I work in the area and help manage several holiday lodges in the Cotswolds, it's always nice to help make recommendations to guests who stay. I wasn't sure if I wanted to stay for a meal, i just wanted a drink and some tappas. The lady in charge ushered me out of her empty restaurant. I was sent outside to a shack. A drinks menu was presented. I asked if I could go and take a seat ... I didn't end up ordering anything. The lady told me off! 'YOU Pay Now... and then SIT' I closed the menu and went back to my car and drove away.

Me and my partner didn’t have the chance to experience anything as we were told the location is closed. So we have been there 5 mins ago, it’s 3:30pm, on the website says it’s open until 5pm. Incredibly professional! They should change their opening times, because we drove all the way down just for that location.

The same sauce is used across many dishes which makes them all taste very similar. The scallops were great but less so the other dishes. Great garden area with plenty of space.

In a sea of burgers and pizza this place really offers something different. The pan Asia menus is excellent and the cocktails will keep you for an extra hour. Certainly have the sushi rolls and the scallops are just divine.

Lovely meal but service was shocking. My husband got his drink at the end of the meal and one person ordered sushi which came when we had finished eating

Celebrated my birthday here as staying local and absolutely loved the food and outdoor terrace to sit. Was gorgeous Japanese food and as a bonus we were able to bring our dog too (they provided a food and water bowl which was appreciated). Highly recommend a visit!

We went for dinner and the food was amazing but unfortunately the service was simple awful. To the point of we could not have paid the bill quick enough just to get out of the place. Staff were just hanging around apart from one lady who was very good. I had to ask 3 times for a cocktail that my wife ordered and this was just the start of it every drink we ordered did not come until I had to asked again and again all the time watching the staff just hang round the bar doing nothing but chatting. This place is not cheap the service should be second to none. I emailed the company letting them know our experience a week ago and not had anything back. Shame on you relish group you have some great restaurants in your group and we us them all the time so we know you can get it right. I do think we will go back to the waterside kitchen any time soon.

We've been twice in 24hrs because the food is so good. Easily one of the best meals we've ever had. Tried the teriyaki vegetables, cauliflower karaake, black cod, duck pancakes, sticky ribs, sweet and sour chicken, chicken katsu, edamame beans and steamed rice. All absolutely delicious. The cod is expensive but utterly worth it. If they weren't closed on a Monday then we'd be going again tomorrow!

I loved visiting the restaurant. Very pleasant atmosphere and very good service. However, I loved the drinks and the bartender too hahaha

Sushi was delicious! Waterside Craft Ale was also excellent, very light and refreshing. Great location, look forward to coming again.

Visiting from London for a long weekend and from a first look the menu it looked great! We called for a takeaway, and was rudely told no without any reason - why offer a takeaway service, and not be able to accommodate one at 6:30pm on a Saturday evening?! So we decided to visit the restaurant to try our luck again! They begrudgingly told us we would have to wait for 1 hour for our food to be cooked. Arrived home and 4 dishes from our order were completely missing, the portion sizes weren't fit for a small child let alone four hungry adults! The takeaway bill came to a severe £148.00 which is an absolute ridiculous sum for the food received! We then returned back explaining the balls up, no compensation was provided and they were reluctant to cook us any further food!! The food was bland tasteless for instance one tiny fillet of chicken for the katsu at £12.00 the duck may aswell have just been crackling hardly no duck meat at £14.00 each plus they forgot to include the pancakes?! Don’t bother ordering the noodles as they are basically a small teaspoon size serving, all dishes were not even half filled. The tempura prawns were smothered in so much mayo, they were described as crispy, more like a soggy mess. All in all a waste of money and time. Absolutely avoid this place until they sort their service and chefs out! Will Not return EVER!

Dissapointing the standard of the food has declined with too many deep fried dishes and a greasy smell in the restaurant. Shame it used to be good.

My first 5 star review! This place was AMAZING! (I have been to Asia so know what good Asian food should taste like). The service was incredibly quick, we ordered drinks and they came within 1 min. The food also only took about 5 mins to arrive. The food was absolutely amazing, every single bite was heaven and I’m still drooling thinking about this meal. The staff were friendly and came to check on us mid meal. The place was beautiful and I would very highly recommend coming here. Absolutely amazing! For reference we ordered these dishes between 2 of us and it was the perfect amount.

Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. This tops Ivy Asia and is more competitive on price.

A lovely lunch celebrating 2 birthdays. We shared some of the dishes to enjoy more of the menu and weren’t disappointed. It wasn’t busy today so we were well looked after and given that extra bit of attention including a birthday special brownie which was very thoughtful and much appreciated. We will return. 👌

I so want to rate this place 5 stars! The food is delicious (the best sticky ribs I've had in years and the cauliflower dish is soooo tasty!) and the setting inside is gorgeous! All deserving of 5 stars but the service sadly let's the experience down. A warm welcome and introduction to the menu but as soon as we sat down we felt invisible! For my first visit at this little gem of delicious tapas style Asian food, I was disappointed to leave feeling let down by the service. My friend has visited several times and its been her experience too - she keeps going back for the food though! So will I.

Visited for lunch on a Saturday. Cheerful, efficient service. Freshly prepared, lovely variety and tasty plates of fusion foods. Cafe atmosphere, relaxed and dog friendly. Very popular, so quite noisy, but great nonetheless!

Excellent ambience with plenty of seating availability. Parking available. The food is excellent with proportional servings. Our hostess was perfect with the service and constantly checked in to make sure everything was up to spec. They do close for an hour during the day so best to call prior.

Only popped in for a coffee but it was lovely! Good quality coffee, great service and a friendly smile. So much better than going to the chains. Nice garden area for people with their dogs, as well as covered outdoor area and the main restaurant.

I’ve eaten here twice over the past year and I like it. The staff are friendly, the food is good and the location is lovely. It’s not that cheap, but there aren’t that many places to eat around here so it’s a bit of a captive market.

We were welcomed by the warm embrace of a slightly bemused and aggressivly friendly manager. Her demener instantly won us over and we knew we were entering a sacred church of food. Our bold reception could only part prepare us for the grandeurs of the resturant. We were seated in the centre of the decking, surrounded by gleeful couples, buisnessmen, old colleagues, housemates, friends, family; all dined collectively with a gentle unspoken equality drifting between. On cue, a waitresse arrived, adopting much of her managers energy but serving a more ernest approach. The menu washed over us like the rhythm of the nearby lake; gently we were presented with a plethora of dishes painted on the table like an ancient muriel: gyozas, onion barjhis, tenderstem vegetables in teriyaki sauce, sushi and samosas. Every dish offered a new insight into the delicacies of indo-japanese cuisine. The onion bahjis, a comprempaty take on an Indian classic, stung the taste buds as if it alerting me that it had consumed something special; it was an awakening of my senses only comparable to snapping out of a decade long coma. As I left, I turned my head to enjoy one last look and thought if Martin Luther King had the privilege of dining at the Waterside Resuturant and Bar, he wouldnt have needed to simply dream.

Good food for a hot summer day. Great service!

Average for the Cotswolds since there is so much competition around, we found the infusion of asian foods, just average. Reading the reviews from other customers stating, the best asian food they had, well they obviously have never been to Asia. We spent 6 years living and traveling around Asia and this doesn't come close, i gave it a 3 for the ambience, only 1 waitress doing her job whilst the others were busy chitchating, looking at their phones or brushing their hair 👀 Such a waste of a lovely ambience that could be pushed to the next level, however let down by a clear lack of customer service and interest in doing anything but their job. Food in the end was pretty tasteless, chewy chicken (like a wet soggy Chewbacca), sushi was just the same unevenly cut and lacking consistency, the prawns were cooked beyond death and the only delight was the fat chips, which weren't chips but wedges. Recommendations Too many other places to go like the watershed brasserie or a local pub with a beer garden. What a great find! Had meal here to celebrate our wedding anniversary with my brother and sister in law. We ordered 10 dishes from the extensive menu and every one exceeded our expectations. Quality ingredients which were really well prepared and presented. The monkfish was fabulous and worthy of special mention. Helpful, friendly staff who all seemed happy in their work. Chillout music added to the vibe. We'll be back...soon!

Came here for lunch last week whilst on holiday and it was amazing! The staff were so lovely and friendly and the food was the best we had all week! Beautiful setting and doggie friendly outside (they also had a wonderful time) Thank you so much can’t recommend enough :)

We found this place by accident on our first day, and then decided to come in for dinner a day later. Really tasty fusion Indian and Japanese dishes, loved the Bao Buns and Katsu Sushi!

Arrived before opening time and just got “We are closed until 5” in a rude tone. If that’s the way you speak to people, there will not be a return visit.

Bought some bacon and sausage rolls from the Shed. Quite expensive at £5 each, but very tasty! This site has been developed recently with some good outdoor seating areas and a separate restaurant. Very friendly and helpful staff. Recommended!

The food was lovely! Top sushi and lovely selection of food! It was sunny and rather hot in the orangery would have been nice to be allowed to eat out in the garden!

Absolutely excellent place! Super cute restaurant with scenic surroundings, wonderful service, and delicious food. We ordered nearly everything on the menu and it was all a hit. Everyone and everything was lovely.

Not at all what I expected, in a good way, very vibe-ie. Food flavours exceptional. However bare in mind, when we ordered, all the food came together and as a result got cold very quickly as nothing to keep the food warm, so a little disappointed, perhaps our naievity, but the server could have mentioned it.

I was very impressed with this place my girlfriend has been suffering with sound after her ordeal with long covid a member of staff i assume the head waiteress change the music to a more relaxing music and even turned the volume down.... the food was excellent as well I totally recommend it!!

Visited today & met very rude obnoxious gent in the car park telling us they are closed Mondays. Wouldn't let us leave our car while we went for a walk. Car park was virtually empty. We've been customers many times before. Won't be back
