Good food but the food took an hour and a half to come

Wow what an amazing place to eat, drink and be merry. The food is incredible but one has to start with the hospitality. A warm welcome as soon as you arrive by every member of staff, who are super efficient and with such genuine care. Then the brilliant owner Neil who’s passion for entertaining a his guests matched his brilliant food. The smokehouse and grill food is something to experience. Tasty from extensive smoking and preparation and fun to eat. I had the to die for Beef Shin Onion soup with Cheese on Toast and smoked chicken wings. My friends had the mixed grill. All amazing. Chef Neil shows us his smoker where the magic happens with best quality butchers meat. (Didn’t take pics but check out website) We were a visiting group of friends from out of town but made to feel like locals. A true traditional way to greet visitors. I’ll be coming back with my wife as it’s great for couples too. We went back the next day it was so good, to see a great band they laid on. Whether you are local or visiting, you can’t beat this place for quality food, good times and the warmest hospitality. We came as visitors and left having made friends as they care so much for their community. We’ll be back soon!

Food was delicious and service was good. I had the brisket & pulled pork burger and my partner had the meat platter of the day. The seasoned fries were so good! Worth a visit.

We made a booking to visit Cheeky Swine Smokehouse for Thursday evening at 6:15pm after researching places to eat in the area and deciding this place would be the best for my husband and I as we love BBQ and smoked cuisine. We were having a very rare date night whilst our children were with grandparents so it was a big deal for us. Unfortunately, when we got there, after we had ordered our drinks and looked at the menu and chose our meals - we were told, upon ordering, the majority of our choices from the fire pit/smokehouse were not available. I do not like burgers which is pretty much all that was available and when I voiced this to the waiter her response was "isnt there another side you can have" which was a little annoying when we had chosen the restaurant for the smokehouse menu. We debated whether to leave but we decided to stay as we didn't know the area and wasn't sure where else we could dine at such short notice. We had BBQ chicken wings and pork belly bites for starters and my husband had a burger for his main. My main consisisted of a side of macaroni cheese and cheesy chips. I will say the food we did have was nice but we were disappointed that there wasn't anything on the menu that we went there for. We originally wanted nachos as a starter which were sold out so we ordered chicken wings and belly bites to share, I wanted the ribs for my main to be told they were also sold out, I then ordered the smokehouse stack, for the waiter to come back to us to say the brisket was sold out and the only other thing I would have eaten was the mixed platter which consisted of what we ordered for our starters so I didn't want 2 lots of wings and pork belly. We booked in the afternoon, so it would have been nice if we're informed then that stock was low or sold out so we could have made alternative arrangements. However, as stated the food we did have was nice and we would like to come back at some point to try the smokehouse dishes and be able to change our 3 star review to a higher star rating. I would like to add our review is based solely on our experience and I would encourage anyone to try Cheeky Swine Smokehouse for themselves, the pub is very cosy and the atmosphere was nice.

Great food, great services from Eddie, well worth the detour for a decent feed!

We are a family from dulverton, exmoor and were holidaying in wales. This place had been on our to go list for about a year so we decided to trek over on holiday. We were not disappointed the place was clean and tidy, welcoming decor. We were quickly seated and drinks order taken. Food was quick and hot. All of the starters were beyond delicious packed of flavour. Mains followed suit and everything on the plate was well seasoned, first roast I’ve had out and enjoyed everything on the plate! Gravy, wow! A bit on the thin side but the flavour packed into it makes up for it. Sticky toffee pud was a win, I believe it was not just microwaved which is a rarity, was just warm and hearty. A lady I presume was the owner was warm and friendly. If around that area again will definitely be visiting! Thank you so much for a good experience:)

The most delicious food we have eaten in a while, we can recommend this place 10 out 10, and thank you for a delightful evening.

Good food and the waiter with the red mohawk was nice, but the experience was let down by an unnecessary comment just after we split the bill and was leaving, saying "that was painful" (unsure if this was by a regular or the guy behind the bar)

1st time for my husband and myself at this charming pub/eatery, food was really tasty, plus we were made to feel really welcome ,will go back when we are in the area again.

Had an amazing lunch for my partner's birthday, the birthday card was a lovely touch. The food was absolutely amazing full of flavour and plenty of it. Eddie was very accommodating making my partner's favourite cocktail also. We will be back 100% we cannot wait. Eddie and Rachel were very lovely and professional very friendly and we felt super welcome. There needs to be more places like this. P.S ignore any negative reviews they are complete nonsense

Came across this place after searching for somewhere different that does BBQ to take the wife for our 10 year wedding anniversary. Emailed to book a table got an instant response to confirm. On street parking, right outside no problem. Warm welcome upon entering and a lovely surprise waiting for us on our table of an anniversary card, completely unexpected but very much appreciated. The food was out of this world! Full of flavour and so tender and succulent. Quite possibly the best food we’ve ever eaten. Thank you again for having us to celebrate our anniversary and making it special for us. We will be singing your praises and will definitely be back again.

With being new in the area traveling from the states this was a really good bbq place to eat at ! Customer service was outstanding. Fin, who helped us out made us feel welcome and gave us a great experience. We will definitely be returning!

I was at Cheeky Swine last Friday for a meal for my 60th . I found an individual card from them expressing wishes for the occasion wish I thought was very special . The food was excellent and reminiscent of South Africa where I lived for many years . Wonderful hosts - would highly recommend

Wow! What a cracking find. We travel from Swindon to visit as it's that good! Such a warm and friendly welcome. The food is absolutely scrummy. We've been previously for Sunday roast and that was really good with a cracking smokey flavour to the meats. Tonight we went for Taco Tuesday, what a bargain and the food was utterly delicious. So much so we booked our table for next Tuesday pretty much as soon as we put our forks down 🤣 Dog friendly, disabled friendly, what more do you need? Thanks guys.

First place for smoked and bbq beef and pork

Stopped in here for a much need Sunday Roast on my recent return to the U.K. It was without any shadow of a doubt, the best Sunday roast I have had in recent memory and in the top 5 I have ever eaten. The chef proprietor Neil is a wizard in the kitchen and he has built himself a fantastic front and back of house team. The pub has much charm, great beers on draft and a strong selection of Whiskies to wash the great food down with. With the welcoming and friendly service, and amazing food, I can’t wait to go back. I will be making a point of stopping by on my next visit.

Have eaten here numerous times now. The Cheeky Swine knows BBQ. Real BBQ. 14 hour smoked briskets, ribs, chicken. You name it, they’re smoking it low and slow. The Platter is an absolute must try and always different on each visit depending what cuts have been smoked - and so never gets boring. This is international class BBQ. Do not miss it.

We had Sunday roast here, and were left disappointed after reading all the positive reviews. Despite pre-ordering we had to wait nearly an hour for starters and then an hour again for mains. The roast chicken wasn’t well seasoned, my lamb was undercooked and still had string in it from the joint (see picture below). The starters were nice so perhaps we should have just stuck to the BBQ menu

Service was impeccable, the owner and staff were welcoming, polite and just all round great people. The brisket burger was by far the nicest burger I've had! Never have I had food that tasted that good! And the atmosphere was top tier 👌 10/10 in every aspect, best place in Cirencester, would recommend to anyone and everyone. If you're thinking of checking this place out, it's 100% worth it!

Ordered take out tonight, we had a meat box , RIbs, mac and chesse and prawn starter The smoked Meats and sides is absolutely amazing. Best Ribs I've had in a long time. also loved the homemade slaw. Looking forward to trying the burgers next time. Only slight negative is the prawns let you down for £10 I expected 3 maybe 4 large BBQ prawns in shells so I would not order them again unless they changed the prawns and flavor. We would definitely be back again tho. Good value for money

Closed on 2nd January. We turned up for lunch on a whim without a booking as our first choice was closed. We checked the Cheeky Swine website and there was no message about them being closed so we drove over. When we got there we were told all the food had been finished at Christmas and we should have called in advance. No apologies and no indication as to when the restaurant will reopen. Not great planning nor great customer service. Will not be returning.

I posted a full review for the Bees Knees. Not sure what the difference is. Perhaps that's the friendly local pub part of the same establishment. Whatever the names, this is a great place for appetizers and drinks or a full dinner, as we can confirm.

A quaint English pub serving the best smokehouse meals I have ever had the joy to taste. Neil, The Pitmaster, is a true maestro and the food that he produces is out of this world. He and Joules (co-owner) are amazing hosts and they make the whole experience an absolute pleasure. Whenever people come to visit, we always take them to The Cheeky Swine, it never fails to deliver! In a word, perfection.

We popped in for a drink, and what a great place. We didn't have food, but my god, the smell was amazing.

Having been shown to our table, we were disappointed to be told that they'd sold out of Brisket and pulled pork. At this point we did think about leaving? Instead we enjoyed a drink and ordered some other smoked meats. We shared a platter and for us the smoked belly pork was the highlight item. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and would visit again, but I would check the availability of the Brisket before confirming my reservation!

Have not here been for years but when I was told I can have a burger after a long shift I was down. Met up with friends as well and the food was amazing. The burgers where so juicy, and the sides on the plate was amazing. All washed down with a couple of pints as well. Will definitely be coming back again. Thanks to Neil who made the food. This place will go places in cirencester.

I’m from Texas, and miss good BBQ. When you walk in here, it just smells right. The pitmaster has a good offset smoker and other hardware, and uses a mix of hard and fruitwood for a good smoke. He’s a proponent of nose to tail cooking with the pork, and if he has it, definitely try the pig’s head and the pork belly bites. Local meats done right - can’t wait to go back!

I returned to cheeky swine after having a few issues on my previous visit and the staff went above and beyond to rectify what happened and provided us with one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Would like to say thank you to the staff and owner, would really give 6 stars if I could

We had the most amazing cooked smoked food here , the staff are so friendly, the service is great . Neil took time out to chat and gave us history about the smoker that cooks the meat . I would recommend that you should come and try . Well worth a visit .

What an excellent find! The smell of the smoker when you arrive is unmistakable, without being overpowering. Staff were friendly and polite, and very child-friendly. Food was excellent. We ate burgers and the mixed platter. All the food was cooked brilliantly, particularly the meats on the platter. Chips were crispy and excellently seasoned. Will definitely be coming back!

The food here is amazing so happy I decided to stop off for something definitely need to go back. I had the platter and was so happy with my choice the ribs fell of the bone and tasted great if you're in the area definitely have to go check them out

I was in the pub when ‘Tony’ and his group were in the pub and they really were rude. Kids running around, very loud, the man was swearing. Really upset us eating there. His review is not right. The staff in the pub are lovely and you can’t fault their food. It’s delicious. Great value. Don’t believe that review as they were rowdy.

I really wish there was a 0 star option as I would have given 0. 1st impressions wasn't good at all. Run down and dirty inside and out. From the carpet to the tables looked 20 years out of date. We made a reservation for 18 people and that was a nightmare. We was told we needed to pre order our food which I understand however I had to call 3 times to ask for the menu to be sent and it never arrived. I had to take it upon myself to get the menu on line and find the email to send over our order as I wanted a smooth sitting. Anyways we arrived ordered drinks and a few of us was looking around the dirty pub and Outdoor area. When I was outside me and a few friends had been looking at the bbqs. (which all wasn't in use so I wounder how our order was going to be cooked) whilst looking at one of the bbqs a man working there aggressively walked up to me and said in a very very rude manner don't touch that and continued walking past us. Everyone that was there was in total shock how someone could be so rude to guest of the restaurant. As a buisness owner I would have stopped and showed people how proud I was of my equipment and answered any question they might of had. This is something I do every single day in relation to my buisness. When I went back into the pub I simply said to this same rude man it's all been left in one piece and isn't broken, and once again rudely he turned and said I didn't say that but Ive told u not to touch it. As I walked off I heard him swear. Didn't catch what he said. I later asked the bar lady who that man was and she said he's the owner and I said wow he's bloody rude and needs to learn some manners. She's then turned around and said I won't accept you talking like this. She must off been his daughter or something as she was so defensive and didn't want to listen to what anyone had to say. At this point everyone was fed up of the wait and the rudeness shown by these 2 people so we upped and left. They lost out on over £800 due to the owners rudeness. I would like to add all the cokes ordered were discusting served in dirty glasses. Also where was the food being cooked if all the bbqs are stone cold? Avoid at all cost. Visited yesterday for the first time for evening meal with my Husband, the barmaid was friendly and inviting the beer and the food wow the food absolutely delicious, we will definitely come back here for our meat fix everything from burger, chips and coleslaw was just on point so so tasty, thank you for a lovely very satisfying evening

Great food definitely worth a visit

I ate here tonight with my family and was so pleasantly surprised. I saw (but never fully trust) the stars but didn't read the reviews. The food just sounded good, and it absolutely was. Seriously, so good! I ate one of the best burgers I've ever had. The only thing I needed more of was napkins- serious bbq needs serious napkins. The fries and slaw were also great.

The food was absolutely delicious!

The food was INCREDIBLE. Couldn’t rate it higher, the ribs were done to perfection, all the sauces available really complimented the foods, they had varying degrees of hot sauce as well and the sides were really special. Can really recommend the Mac and cheese and the ribs and my partner had the mixed platter bbq which he loves as well. We were told that the pub is under new management and has only been doing this menu for two weeks so I can’t wait to see it when they’ve finished fully refurbing and maybe changed some things around it will be an amazing place to come and eat great great BBQ food!

Finally a new venture giving the Bees the opportunity it deserves. Good luck Neil and Co. Shame on your neighbour who clearly has too much time on your hands. Don’t move next to an established old pub!

Absolutely fantastic we were the first table of six to make a booking and it did not dissapoint , even with a limeited menu the owners made us a platter which was fantastic !! Highly reccomend the owners have done a great deal to make it work and we have already booked our next table, give a go ! The best grill in ciren by far

The burgers are delicious, I can't recommend them enough, juicy, big and cooked to perfection with that fire/grill taste. However, | must also share with you that the customer service is one notch higher on the quality scale. Please let me explain...I moved into the local area and ordered from Cheeky Swine for a pickup. I wasn't sure how to get there so they helpfully explained over the phone, me eliciting with the owner I was new and therefore unsure of the roads. Well to my very pleasant surprise, when I picked up my order and got it home, I found an additional 'large portion' of cheesy chips which I hadn't ordered and with it a post it note saying "Here is a welcome present from the team at Cheeky Swine". I was very appreciative of such thoughtfulness hence I am writing this and would recommend the venue to all.

Had the most amazing takeaway today , Spur of the moment . But was probably the best takeaway we have had in ages . Prompt delivery. Nice and hot . And very tasty . Will definitely order again . Thankyou .

Probably one of the best takeaways we have had in a long long time , my wife had 1/2 a chicken with trimmings and I had a pig mac and frys, oh my god , lush. Don't do alot of takeaways but I think we are now.

Plentiful and delicious food lends to an excellent value for money meal. I thoroughly enjoyed my platter that included chicken, pulled pork, brisket and pics in blankets, mixed salad and lots of crispy seasoned fries. Will definitely be ordering again

I sent a txt order at 20.06pm for a platter and was told order not received till my 3rd txt of where is my order please? No answer on ringing number followed by txt reply only just got messages closed and apologises sent at 20.57pm convient it closes at 9pm. Also 01285 number not even rings! Cheers
