The Old George Inn in Cotswold

We had a delicious plant based lunch at The Old George Inn. Bang bang cauliflower and a burger with the best onion bhaji I've ever tasted. Our waitress brought treats for the doggies and we had a lovely chat.

Great village pub, family friendly good food

Six of us were Booked into one of the Lodges in Cerney Wick for 5 Days, so a couple of us decided to pop in for a drink on the first evening, with the idea of coming the next day for a meal. We ordered a couple of pints of Guinness which cost £11.40, a bit pricey bit no problem.when I asked first one for myself they charged me £6.35. When I queried it they told me that they charge more for visitors. Won’t be going back. Don’t like being ripped off. Not a good experience for our first night.

Our stop on the trip was totally right! We ate wonderfully, we really wanted to try homemade food and with the feet and the meat we hit the spot! The staff that served us was very friendly and so were the rest of the diners, since being Spanish we were the novelty and they were charming! And the Galician man we met, a sun! We hope to return soon!😍

The Old George is a beautiful traditional village pub. The pub is a 200 year old listed building. This is our second visit here & the food is high quality with fantastic service. Excellent choice of drinks. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. There is a well kept garden with outdoor seating. Looking forward to returning here.

A brilliant little pub I discovered because of the RIAT airshow. If you are in this part of England I would definitely recommend checking it out 😄

Old style pub in a lovely village. Great cask ales, friendly staff and dog friendly. Would go back for the ales but not the garden menu, waiting 45 minutes for burger and chips which wasn't brilliant

Lovely country pub, I would definitely recommend the rump steak with parmasan truffle fries! The staff were friendly and went above and beyond when we provided feedback on the child's chicken Burger being to spicy for our son, giving us a fee dessert and an extra donut which went down well with the kids. Thankyou, would recommend 👌

Stopped in for a couple of pints with friends, wonderful olde world building with a great, friendly atmosphere. And good beer! 🤠

Very good sunday lunch and good service at a reasonably price

Passed this lovely looking Pub on our way home, really happy we stopped. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, quality large portions at reasonable prices. Shame I couldn’t have spend a bit more time there! A great variety including a specials selection. My son didn’t quite finish the chicken and ribs but thankfully I was on hand to help him. Will definitely be going back. Definitely recommend a visit to anyone in the area.

The restaurant and pub are cute. However, I paid a premium for cold, tough roast and impolite, slow service.

Lovely dog friendly pub, stopped by for lunch on route to our accommodation for the weekend. Great food (only dropped a star as no lamb burger) the food we had was excellent. Would highly recommend as we were all catered for. Thank you

Stopped here for lunch as we were waiting to check in for our holiday accommodation. Super dog friendly. Bed & treats were given to us for our dog. Staff were lovely, very friendly & helpful. Food was good quality. Sadly, they didn't have the lamb burger, which my husband was so looking forward to.

Had a party of 16, including one diabetic, one in a wheelchair and also two dogs. The owners and staff couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. The food was excellent and great portions all round. Everyone walked out happy, even the dogs who had their own menu to choose from. 100% worth visiting if you're in the area and looking for a drink or meal.

Had a lovely time at the old George last night. Was a lovely atmosphere in the pub with an open fire. Really dog friendly even with our rescue who is normally fine but took a disliking to the waiter (apologies) but he dealt with it in a very professional manner and put us back at ease. The food was great my steak was cooked spot on and enough vegetarian options to keep the wife happy. some great local beers on tap that went down a treat! Only a 15 minute walk from the hoburne holiday park so a great place to walk to with the dog and a have a few drinks and a bite to eat!

Lovely local pub under new management

Wouldn't eat here again, 4 of us ate yesterday 25th February, I couldn't believe it when the waitress came with the food, ok so two of my family do not like greens, but I feel they could of made it up with more carrots and a couple more potatoes, and gravy, it was like dishwater, green beans were that hard and chewy they squeaked as you ate them. Totally disappointed root veg you had one carrot glazed and one parsnip that was hard and crispy. You seriously need another chef.

Popped in for a bite to eat after a walk in the area. Staff were friendly and there's a good atmosphere in the pub with music that suited our tastes. The food was served promptly and was tasty and good value for money. Lovely pub will be returning.

Very warm, friendly and fun atmosphere with great staff, good range of alcohol and great food. They also have 2 outside areas which is lovely in the nicer weather

Very accommodating to a group of blokes who didn’t think to book anywhere. We had great food and plenty of beer and wine.

This wasn't a great visit as we were having a celebration of life for a close friend who passed away recently. They did us proud but it is not my local so can't give it a fair review.

This lovely Cotswold pub must be the most dog friendly pub we have ever visited. We booked online and mentioned we have two golden retrievers. When we arrived to our table, Rebecca the manager had put two dog mats there waiting for us. Thank you for the nice touch! Sunday roast and service were excellent.

Popped in for a pint, great local place with friendly locals and great atmosphere.

We went for dinner on Saturday night and the atmosphere was good so had high hopes. The steak was well cooked but unfortunately the curry and soup were really disappointing. The lamb curry itself was tasty but the daal and saag aloo (just 3 boiled potatoes) were unseasoned and bland. The flat bread it came with was also just a tortilla wrap. The waitress was lovely and the service was friendly but I’d expect so much more from the food for the price point.

A group of us went for a meal + pre ordered meal. The food was very good + everyone else's looked good too, the service was good with all the meals coming out together. It was busy in the pub + the restaurant but it was a relaxed + enjoyable evening. Very dog friendly.

Had dinner at the George. Very good meals and excellent table service. Beef Wellington was sensational, highly recommend. Book in advance for Friday / Saturday as can get very busy. Desserts also tasty!

Very long wait for food. The staff were pleasant enough but we waited an hour and half for our food with young children. Lovely outside seating area and small play area for kids. When the food arrived it was delicious. Could do with some allergy friendly/more vegan options as the children with allergies in our party were incredibly limited in choice. Overall a nice place

Food was great but the wait to order and serve was long. Two tables who came in after us were served before. Not cheap for a local pub and would expect better.

We had a fantastic night at the Old George. All staff and the locals were very welcoming to us and our 2 dogs. Food was excellent along with the service, which was exceptional, from the people behind the bar to the excellent waitresses and the host. A fun lively place with excellent food and service. Well worth a visit. Thank you so much for such a great night.

We had a wonderful meal and drinks here on a warm Saturday evening. Food was superb, authentic and very well cooked, fresh and seasonal. Service was great, the head waitress was so friendly and the whole team very welcoming. The atmosphere was lovely, some low level hood music and nice lighting inside and out. We will be coming back to the area to visit this pub again

First time visit yesterday to one of our last remaining South Cerney village pubs , with no expectations other than seeking a ' standard ' Sunday Roast . Without exception all serving staff were friendly and efficient. Beer was cold , and no complaints from those that had a wine. Beef was fine, roasties though had unfortunately been reheated, but the biggest downside was no sign of a fresh vegetable anywhere! Certainly not on any of our four plates . As they say , "pay your money and take your chance" Such a pity, but never again for me. Siddington ' Greyhound ' next time for sure. But book early.

Very busy little pub, atmosphere was buzzing. We ordered chicken burgers which were really nice, but way to much....less chicken! there own coleslaw touch was really nice. Service was good nice and friendly.

Very good food... steak was amazing and pepper corn sauce was to die for. Kids pizza .... taste and lots of it... plenty of cheese. Curry was lovely. General consensus... Best pub food we've eaten in a long long time. Worth a visit.

Went as it was a dog-friendly pub and was great all around. Incredibly friendly staff, nice atmosphere without being too crowded and very nice décor inside. Service was fast and efficient but we were never rushed, food was very nice and everything we could've needed was provided - including a mat and 'doggycinno' desert for the dog, brought free-of-charge and without having to ask. Highly recommend.

I went to the old George Inn because I have a friend who now lives in South Cerney and I wanted us to have a Sunday Roast. Excellent food and service. Highly Recommend. Roast Belly Pork and Dessert.

I visited the Old George with my "bus pass" ladies, we caught the bus from Swindon to Latton, and we then walked to South Cerney, and stopped at the Old George for refreshments. As it was a hot day, we sat in the garden to drink. It looks a lovely pub.

Food was small portions chicken wing for a roast chicken. Staff unhelpful and rude, not accommodating at all.

Comfortable pub and great for dogs! friendly staff and excellent service. Food was hit and miss - fish & chips was mostly batter, chicken Katsu was quite dry and chewy, prawn linguine was tasty and so was the chicken burger.

Warm, friendly to humans and dogs, comfortable, and yummy, non-fussy food.

Super down to earth old village pub, lovely to see it full of locals enjoying a pint after a busy working week. We also had a delicious meal in the pub and their taste in music is excellent.We would like to thank Jenny for allowing us to park our motorhome in their car park overnight. All in all a very enjoyable overnight stay.🚐

Great pub, went for evening meal, had burgers, both chicken and beef, plus the pie, all really tasty. Best of all was the chessy garlic bread. Friendly staff.

Came here by accident after actually planning on going to the pub across the road, and I'm so so glad we did! Fantastic pub, great atmosphere, amazing food and superb staff that couldn't do enough for us! Definitely a new favourite (the cheese cake when I got home later that evening was a lovely end to the night) and we will be back!

Had Sunday lunch for 11 with no issues,food and service was excellent and the six nations was a bonus as well as the pub being dog friendly as are the staff.Shall visit again when back on holidays.

Had a Fantastic Saturday night in here. Great staff and great people. Tom the bar man was top Bloke. Food from the fire truck was lovely and the music was cracking. We’ll most of the time until S club 7 came on 🤣🤣🤣

Great atmosphere on a Saturday lunch time / afternoon. Very friendly staff. Had a steak and if you like real ale, try the Budding, cracking pint. Picturesque surroundings next to the twin rivers. Really enjoyable couple of hours.

Arriving without a reservation, we were greeted with courtesy and professionalism. The atmosphere is relaxed, the pub is frequented by people from the village, there is the typical English pub atmosphere, but with a restaurant room furnished with taste and character. The food is excellent, a lot of choice of typical dishes, the prices respect those of the area. The strong point however is the staff, thank you for everything.

Great food quality and staff are very attentive, we were visiting the local area and they made us feel at home. A great pub to visit 👍
