A most professional establishment. Due to some diabolical service in another bar in Cirencester, we had a drink here. We were greeted warmly by a barman and had great drinks that settled us in for the night. We were shown to our table in the restaurant that was decorated with B&W photos of some stars, the music was the right volume. We placed our order of beef tartare and mackerel starters that were absolutely amazing. The turbot and sea bream were cooked to perfection. The presentation was fantastic. I love the artistry of a good meal. You do pay for what you get. Throughout our meal, any member of staff who dealt with us was professional and polite. My advice, when in Cirencester, eat here. This is a Goldilocks restaurant, everything was just right!

So, true story. We'd actually booked a table at Teatro on the outskirts, but ended spending our evening here! We actually attempted to head over to the Mad Hatters wine bar for pre-drinks at 7pm, but it was closed. We had parked near this place earlier in the day and thought it looked nice from the outside, so decided to try here instead. Immediately there is a wicked vibe in this place, and the staff all mega friendly and attentive. We sat at the bar and ordered a glass of albariño, a vodka martini (off menu, but they obliged anyway!) and a bowl of crispy pork skin bites. Let's start with the pork bites - Jesus Christ! I was ready to drop everything and just order 12 bowls of these damn things. Drinks all spot on, we were hooked. The change of plans were instigated by the friendly waiter who was looking after us, informing us of the sad decline over at Teatros, and that instead Henry's was the place to be - he wasn't far wrong. After another round of drinks, we headed over to the comfortable dining area to embark on a late supper. We shared a bowl of black garlic arinicini (served with an addictive basil sauce - both just so delicious), I went for a rib-eye steak and the missus a stone bass. We shared a bowl of lobster fries. Firstly the rib eye was just perfect. I can't remember many rib eye steaks which I've enjoyed more. The dry age really brought the flavour of the meat to the table and the accomplishments were just absolutely spot on (roasted cherry tomatoes, crispy dehydrated mushrooms and a parmesan and rocket salad). Sadly the stone bass was an ever so slight miss (not sure if it was a bad cut, or cooked badly), but it never made it onto the bill, so no tears over here! The lobster fries were fun, flavoursome with little bits of lobster in them. It was all washed down with a sublime bottle of beaujolais. Really the place would have got 6 stars (notwithstanding the stone bass) because it was just a really great combination of quality, great vibe and great staff. A massive shout-out to Miles, who was an absolute star throughout. He'll be a sommelier at a high end Michelin star place in no time.

I little disappointed but I will try Walk in again!!

ad an amazing time at the bottomless lunch on Saturday. If you want to spend time with friends and family I would highly recommend. Staff and service couldn’t be faulted and they catered to our every need. Food was fabulous I had the flat iron steak and it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth, drinks came within a few mins of ordering. Selection was great for drinks and food, next time I’ll try the Lamb Burger as that looked and smelled amazing when it came out to the table next to us. Decor was lovely and the atmosphere was calm yet vibrant. Definitely worth checking this place out you won’t be disappointed.

So we’ve waited a little while to let Henry’s bed in and get over the inevitable opening hitches. Looked for lunch one day not long after opening but no dogs allowed, so walked away disappointed. Bit of a downer for a place in the middle of serious dog country, and next to two major dog walking parks. So instead, we opted for dinner for two booked this evening. Front end booking app needs some attention as we ended up with 2 bookings instead of one but a phone call and pleasant FOH sorted it. Great location, very well refurbished from the old Jack Hare’s site. Very polished FOH greeting and straight to table in a clean, comfortable and pleasant restaurant space beyond the bar area. Excellent table service, great bar options, prompt and engaging with a team who have been well drilled and deliver it with aplomb and knowledge. Menu’s are a little confusing but once explained - all good. Offering is varied and certainly wide enough for all persuasions. Quality and presentation of food is first class. It’s not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. A halibut dish was worthy of every penny, a medium rare 10oz rib eye could have been cut with a butter knife and was exceptional. The apple and blackberry crumble - a thing of beauty. Short but punchy wine list. A definite must visit if in Cirencester. Note to owners - relax your lunch time policy on dogs - let them in the front end - out of your lovely back restaurant - and you’d open up those quiet weekday lunches sessions to another raft of willing customers.

Visited Henry's fabulous garden for lunch yesterday with Biscuit, our little Cockapoo, as they have thankfully changed their 'no dogs' policy. FOH Rebecca does an incredible juggling job; greeting, seating, serving, clearing, all done with smiles and professionalism. Really looking forward to trying this restaurant. After sitting down and getting comfortable, had to leave, unfed and hungry, as the chef couldn't be bothered to prep/prepare the one non-meat main on the menu - the hand rolled gnocchi. Was offered a random salad, which unfortunately didn't appeal at all. Disappointing :(

Disappointing!! We have been to Henry's on a number of occasions for drinks but never eaten there. We had been told by a number of friends it was a decent place to eat. Unfortunately we didn't have the same experience. We had to wait a while for our starter with other tables receiving their food before ours who had ordered after us. We believe our order was missed. We were more than happy to forget that until the starter did finally show up. We had crispy monkfish tail tacos (£18 each), to be fair they looked good but the monkfish was lukewarm and the piece I tried was dry, I was expecting it to be piping hot & succulent if it had just come out of the fryer? I made the waitress aware of this and she took both starters back to the kitchen as my wife's was the same. The explanation from the chef was that the small amount of salsa on the taco cooled the fish down from when it was plated up to arriving at our table, I don't think so, the middle of the fish was lukewarm, salsa would not have been able to do that in such a short amount of time. They said they would cook again but we would have to wait sometime for it to arrive So no starter!! We hoped they would redeem themselves with the recommended special of Venison with a crocket & puree. No such luck, the Venison portion was 2 small pieces that were dry & again Lukewarm, the crocket was nice and piping hot (just out of the fryer!!) They also forgot the veg we ordered which in my opinion was much better than the venison, it says something when a broad bean is better than the meat on your plate. We ate it because we were really hungry by that point but definitely not worth the £26 price tag. For the price you pay at Henrys you expect a certainly quality but we didn't receive that I am a local to Cirencester & won't be recommending Henry's, I will be telling friends & family about this experience & I won't be going in again any time soon.

I’m not one to leave a bad review but feel really upset about the outcome of my birthday meal at Henrys. My partner took me for a meal as he knows I love sushi, we traveled half an hour to get here and had great service on the night. The place is done out well and waiters very attentive. Unfortunately within the hour of having our meal on the way back into Cheltenham I started feeling very ill, and was clear that the meal had given me food poisoning. This was and awful experience that lasted 3 days and after contacting the restaurant I’ve not been offered any kind of refund, apology, nor have they taken ownership for this. I understand it’s not an easy complaint to settle, but after emailing them twice since our phone call, and not having had a response, I feel leaving a bad review is necessary.

Pete and I have just had two Friday night suppers with friends at Henry’s and both times were really fabulous. Welcoming staff and very attentive during the meals, just the right amount but not over the top. A really good variety of each course and the quality and presentation not matched anywhere else in Cirencester. The dining environment is very modern and stylish, and so comfortable that you could be at home. (The pictures do need straightening though!) The atmosphere was great on both occasions, lively but not overly loud. Price: well, for the quality of the food and the whole experience, excellent value.
