Whenever I work in this area, I always go to Waterside Cafe on Redhill St Manchester 4. Appropriately named, this delightful, clean, welcoming cafe sits by the canal. Inside it is very clean with an extensive light meal/snack menu. There are deep settees to relax in or chairs and tables. People sit with their newspapers or laptops. The owners are so helpful, friendly and accommodating. My favourite thing is the goat's cheese panini which is really good quality. Go there, it's a lovely place.

A very nice little find. Top class coffee, and very friendly service (though I believe the lady running the place on the day we visited was only there temporarily). Would have loved to have tried a cake. Damn you, malfunctioning pancreas! If we are in the area though, will definitely return and would happly give the lunch a go!

What a brilliant friendly cafe that you really must visit. From the friendly welcome including great funny banter we felt right at home. Even better finding really healthy options in such comfortable surroundings.

Great place for a coffee and a bit of people watching - very friendly staff and nice assortment of cakes (including gluten free). They also do a mean full English.

Coffee ok but I’m sure my cake was 2 weeks old and my friend found mould on his cake. Slightly concerned as last night I walked past the cafe and there was a fire engine and an ambulance outside. Hope whoever ate the cake is ok.

I attend here regularly, always the best breakfast in the area with the addition of warming customer service. Great price and fresh food.

Have eaten here multiple times now and the food has always been outstanding. From breakfasts to toasted paninis to rolls. The service is always with a smile and quick. The food is fresh and always leaves me satisfied. The prices remain unbeaten, fantastic value for money.

Just nipped in for a quick bite to eat and a coffee on the way to a meeting, what a great service and perfect welcome. We only had 25 minutes to spare and ordered a breakfast sandwich which was delicious and delivered within 5 minutes. Despite the COVID-19 restrictions this was an amazing service, friendly and professional relaxed atmosphere. I imagine on a sunny day to sit outside right on the lock would be an added bonus too. Thank you to the very lovely owners on our first breakfast outside of home in over a year. See you again very soon.

The Waterside Cafe seems to be a very popular option for the locals of Ancoats. I often walk pass and the cafe always has people inside. Outside seating is available and it is quite a sun trap. The cafe is a good place to have a leisurely coffee with friends. This is the first time I have ventured in and its a great pit stop for those walking the canals or those in search of a nice brunch. Plenty of options for sandwiches. Prepare yourself to have turkey bacon with the full english breakfast. Vegetarian options are available. Friendly staff and efficient service. Very clean and the staff are quick to clean up after a customer has left. I will happily go again.

Me and my family (Grandad, Dad and Grandma) have been coming here since waterside cafe opened. More so, the last couple of years. Mo and Dina are very lovely and always give us the best experience. This is my Grandad’s favourite place to visit, we enjoy our lunch time treats here sat people watching and most times the sun shining through the big open windows from; lattes, panini’s, omelettes, cake and so on. The food is delicious and such a friendly and relaxed with lovely music to add to the atmosphere. We would all recommend to anyone! Thank you for the best service always :) Loren x

Excellent choice of sandwiches and every drink option possible! Lovely friendly staff, just what you need when you’re in the middle of moving flats as opposed to a sit down lunch. Will be popping in again soon. We had the chicken tikka and the meatball panini, good value for money.

Great alternative full English breakfast for non pork eaters. I use this place and have done for the past few years and Have consistently found it to be satisfying. The staff are always polite and welcoming. Overall I would definitely recommend this place.

Después de haber visitado el Mills, nos detuvimos en el Waterside para recoger comida para llevar para el viaje al sur. La señora que servía era increíblemente amable y la comida que ella prepara estaba delicioso. Se lo recomendaría a cualquiera que visite esa parte de Manchester. También puede comer en como sillas muy cómodas.

Carnt make out the 5 star reviews think it's a con myself the sandwiches are nothing special and the staff when I went in rude .what surprises me the 5stars it's getting local people don't go in it's far to expensive for what you get have a look round lots of great little cafe around don't be fooled into thinking all reviews genuine

We've eaten here a few times and love the simple food, especially the salads and sandwiches they make specially for you. All the staff are really welcoming, there are numerous comfy chairs and settees and the free Wi-Fi works well.

Este trabajando en Manchester, es difícil encontrar un restaurante decente sin tener que ir al centro de la ciudad. Desde que descubrí este lugar encantador es un ordinario artefactos para mí por lo menos dos veces a la semana. Hay un gran ambiente con una combinación de muebles de salón y comedor. Este es también uno de los raros lugares donde puedes conseguir un halal completo desayuno inglés, cualquier forma de sándwiches y un café estupendo. Starbucks y Costa deberían tomar nota.

Visitamos hoy aquí y pedí un pollo peri panini y un pollo tikka panini y quedó seriamente insatisfecho! El pollo tikka panini parecía que había un tarro de salsa tikka masala sólo echaban a la sandwich (supuse que sería de los trozos de pollo tikka! ) así que terminamos terriblemente pasada y sin sabor! El bocadillo de pollo peri era puramente insípido y la ensalada era una patética excusa para una ensalada! No se lo recomiendo a cualquiera que busque un buen sándwich para el almuerzo!

Yesterday, I visited the Waterside Cafe and had lunch. I then hung out for awhile eating dessert and having a coffee. Mo, the owner, provided lovely food at a great price. More importantly, he was the consummate host, and really took the time to come over and say hello to me. Friendly but not pushy, Mo was so sweet. We chatted about world events, Trump's presidency (I was a visiting American), and our respective religious viewpoints. As someone who is Jewish and clearly observant by my head covering, I was nervous that Mo would be uncomfortable around me. Not even close - he was so wonderful that I walked in a stranger and walked out a friend. Please give this wonderful cafe your business. The food was tasty, the coffee was delicious, and it was well worth the money. Great, central location.

Had the vegetarian cooked breakfast this morning to take away. The order was ready promptly and was a decent size. Some nice touches like the beans being in a little carton so they don't spread all over the tray while walking back to the office! Good stuff.Food itself was tasty, everything cooked well. Recommended - good food, friendly service and I imagine the cafe is a nice place to eat in too from what I saw of it when I collected my order. I'll be going back!

We stayed in a hotel close to the cafe and had breakfast there everyday. The owner Mo is a wonderful person and so is his staff. He makes lovely breakfast & also has a variety of dishes on the menu.The place is extremely clean & will definitely go back whenever we visit Manchester.

It's so comfy and relaxing on their sofas, I almost fell asleep. Overlooking the waterway and just across from the Northern Quarter, the Waterside cafe is an oasis of tranquility..

The waitress is lovely, super tasty carrot cake and quality coffee. Also the sandwiches and sales are great and fresh.Lovely staff and the carrot cake is wonderful

Looks like a nice place and in a good location but the quality and hygiene is very poor. the bread was mouldy and green and the greek salad had a hair stuck on the feta .

Went in and first impression very clean and nice, without looking at the menu I asked for a Full English to take away.Portion looked good 2 sausages, 2 bacon, beans egg toastleapt straight in at the bacon and my hunger disappeared instanlty, what was it ?certainly not bacon, I am fussy about sausages but these looked good, again how wrong can you be a funny texture and my fist mouthful headed for the bin.Walking past the next day I just casually looked at the menu thinking the chef was having an off day and to my horror Full English was done with Turkey rasher BaconIf that was the case I dread to think what the sausages were made fromone to avoid

We have been coming to Waterside Cafe for about a year, ever since we started the process of buying a house nearby. The staff are always very polite and go out their way to ensure you are happy. The owner is very freindly and greets us each time we visit. The sandwiches are very tasty and its a great location to watch the world go by. Get on down there and support local independents!

We've been coming to the Waterside Café since they opened - great location, on a quiet street opposite the canal. A really spacious café, loads of light flooding in through the floor-to-ceiling windows. Plenty of comfy seating and always kept spotlessly clean. The café staff are lovely people - very friendly and welcoming. Wide range of food - coffee quality is excellent - all very well priced! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Situated just Gt Ancoats Street this is a great place for a coffee either inside or outside; you can sit and watch the ducks on the canal or settle down on the comfy sofas.Prices are reasonable and the coffee is good - I can see it becoming an escape from the office for me.

We happened upon this gem of a café after visiting the furniture shop Roche Bobois on Great Ancoats St - the café is just around the corner. The cafe is light, modern and v-spacious with a mixture of seating to suit all, plus it is v-clean, with free wi-fi on offer. We had a tuna melt Panini and a chicken Caesar salad for lunch, accompanied by a wonderful skinny latte, which was better than any offering from the likes of Starbucks, Café Nero etc. Our food was fresh and tasty and good quality. Equally amazing were the prices - £2.50 - £3.30 for sandwiches (on borown, white, Panini, Ciabata etc) and salads from £3.00 (!!!) - £3.50 - amazing for city centre Manchester, especially the chicken Caesar salad and a Greek feta cheese salad both for £3.00! Their breakfasts also looked v-good, with cheap prices to match. If you are out and about around the northern part of the city or on Great Ancoats Street itself and you are looking for a snack or a quick coffee, plus the outlook is cool, overlooking the refurbed Rochdale Canal.
