Ate here with my mates after being recommended by a colleague at work. For a total of 80 quid, we got a pile of 50 small to medium-sized prawns doused in overly salty spices, and two small bowls of sides - rice and chips. Added in extra sides of coleslaw and "grilled calamari rings" that were baby-sized, with calamari rings literally the size of engagement rings for 7.95 quid! Can you imagine! For such an expensive meal, you would imagine it'd be filling at least! Well, none of my mates and I were full, even after dessert. What's worse, we got back with an upset tummy. Tried Jimmy's once and won't be going back a second time. Overly hyped.

If Prawns is your thing, then straight to this gem of a restaurant. Reasonably priced and the prawns were divine. Lovely blend of flavours and nice and crispy chips. Never been to it before and glad I bumped into it by pure chance. Would normally struggle to recall my go to place when asked, but without doubt this is my go to place from now onward. My daughter and I entered the restaurant with full respect. We sat on the sofa, waiting patiently for our turn. Suddenly, a family of five walked in, and the manager took them and seated them at a table before us – even though we had been waiting. My daughter got up and spoke to the manager with complete respect and calmness. It was the worst, absolute worst service we’ve ever experienced – the worst treatment I’ve encountered in my entire life.

One of my favourite restaurant, the shrimps are so fresh and delicious, I took my friends and family there so many times. And all the stuffs are friendly and nice.

Really disappointed about my experience and im not one to complain usually. Firstly I tried to book but they wouldn't let me because it was just me and they said I would be seated right away but when I got there I ended up waiting 20 minutes. I ordered a diet coke (£3 for a 330ml can!) and a tap water, and they said they didn't do tap water. So they charged me for a bottle of water (£2) instead. I started pouring the water in the glass they provided to realise the glass was really dirty with a brown scum that started floating, from possibly someone else's drink. So I had to ask for a new glass and new bottle of water. When it came to ordering I ordered a Seafood Boil (the cheapest of the boils), calamari rings and 3 sauces. I'll give them credit here, the food came out quickly. But then I was waiting for a good 5 minutes at least for my bucket, gloves and bib which I eventually had to ask for and my food was going cold by the time I got them. I was then also missing my sauces so I had to ask someone for them. I was almost through my food when I realised they had given me the wrong boil (they had given me the expensive one instead). The potatoes seemed to be the tinned type boiled potatoes. With the price you pay you'd think they would be fresh potatoes. I brought up the fact that they gave me the wrong boil and they checked the bill and I did order a different one to what they gave me so they just charged me for the one I ordered. The rice was pretty tasteless. Once I finished my meal I was asked if I would like some bread to finish my sauces, silly me thought this was complimentary or part of the price but it wasn't and they charged me for that even though I could only eat half. There was plenty of staff on but I had 2 or 3 different members come upto me and each didn't know what the other was doing or had done. The whole place seemed quite unorganised and clumsy (kept dropping plates). They should have a member off staff focus on each table and not 2-3 which might help with things missing and being disorganised. I was really looking forward to trying this place after wanting to go for sooo long. Overall, I'm unsure if I'll be returning. At least not to this branch. The only positives really was that I wasn't waiting long for my food to be brought. And (if it can be considered a positive) they didn't insist on charging me for the boil I didn't order. One last thing I will add was, another customer was BRUSHING their hair right over someone else table. They had long, thick hair and was stood up using the window as a mirror and brushing their hair. If it was my table, I would have been absolutely fuming. A couple of members of staff just walked straight past her. They should have asked her to stop and go to the bathroom to do it, considering how unhygienic it is and people were trying to eat their food and didn't want stray hairs flying into their food.

If I could give zero stars, I would. My mother and I went to this restaurant and were asked to wait for a table. We were just two people. A family of five came after us, and they were seated immediately while we were still waiting. When I asked the manager why, he responded rudely, saying it was “logical” to seat them first because they were a larger group and he would “lose customers” otherwise. I wasn't arguing about the table size — I was pointing out that we were there first. But instead of showing any understanding, the manager became defensive and spoke to me in a disrespectful, almost aggressive tone. It was completely uncalled for. Later, while I was seated and simply turned my head to look at a baby behind me, the same manager rushed over and asked, “Is there a problem?” as if I was causing trouble. I felt watched and unwelcome the entire time. The only reason I stayed was because my mother was hungry, but I truly regret not leaving. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. The manager clearly lacks basic respect for guests, and it ruined what should have been a nice outing with my mom.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is good. You have to come and try it.

The prawns are indeed killer!! Absolutely delicious. The platter for 2 is MORE THAN ENOUGH for two, even for three people lol. The sides could be of better quality but still nice. Sauces aren’t the best either. Love the music they were playing but the restaurant itself isn’t the best. But again, the seafood is great, which is what matters!

1st visit here, enjoyed the prawns & you get 2 sides to choose & a couple of dips/ sauces. Was a Sunday, mid afternoon on visit, expected it to be more busy than it was, also they don't serve alcohol.

Amazing place of you like seafood.. Order the seafood boil and prawns.. went medium spice but next time I'll be going hot. Boil was really good. Nice pieces of crab and lobster. Make sure you wear your bib..

Visited Jimmy’s Killer Prawn today! It was amazing, right from the service at the front from Lucy who was very thorough and professional all the way to leaving. She kindly gave my son ice cream before we left too. Food was delicious, the prawns and sides are on point.

Second time ever eating at this place, and the first time I’ve ever ordered seafood (yes, they do other stuff too!!) Partner got the fish and chips and I got a seafood boil for one, and we were both delighted with what we got. The fish and chips was fresh and the batter was crispy, partner said it was really tasty and hot. My seafood boil came with really tasty rice, a nice carby way to soak up some of the lovely creamy Cajun sauce. There was a tiny bit of spice to the sauce but really manageable. There was so much seafood in the bag it was unreal! Calamari, snow crab, king prawns, mussels, and new potatoes and a boiled egg. The only bad point with this place is everything tastes so good you’ll keep eating until you can’t get out of your chair!! The staff are lovely as well, I’d said at the start that I’d not been here for ages, so he took the time to talk me through the options, was really patient, and very chilled out.

Absolutely gorgeous food and flavours. Had the lamb chops and prawns combo. 3 lamb chops perfectly cooked. Well done but still juicy and tender, almost made me forget I’d come for the prawns which also didn’t disappoint. Gutted with myself for leaving it so long before my first visit. Service was great. Yoself and a friend went to Jimmy's prawns on a Saturday night. I arrived after my friend and there was noone there to greet me for seating so I just walked in and found her. Noone came over to ask if we wanted drinks for 10 minutes so I called someone over, we ordered and the starter arrived quickly. After we'd finished starters (cheesy garlic ciabatta) which was lovely, the dishes weren't cleared and the main courses arrived so the waitress had to put all of the plates down and I had to hold the starter plate so it would fit. There was no explanation about the 3 sauces that arrived with our plates so I asked (when I called the waitress over again to order drinks.) Honestly we were ignored the whole time we were there. I asked for the bill (twice) and then the supervisor had the audacity to tell us we had to leave for another booking. I pointed out that we were just waiting to pay and he brought the card machine so that we could do so and we left. Prawns were lovely but not good enough to warrant another visit when the service was so bad.

Me and my partner went before a concert. We got there early and got sat down immediately, which was great. The server was fantastic, unfortunately I cannot remember his name. The food was delicious, full of flavour, tailored to your spice level and just overall tasty! We did order way too much and couldn’t take it with us so the waiter suggested to box it up and give it to a homeless guy outside. I thought this was so thoughtful and caring of the waiter and we did box it up and gave it to a homeless guy when we left. Would recommend this jimmy killer prawns to any of my friends and family.

Had the seafood boil for two and went with the medium spice level—it was flavorful and didn’t need any extra sauce. The seafood was tasty and good portion for two girls, though it took some effort to de-shell everything. Overall, a nice meal and a fun dining experience but I don’t think I will go back as it is a bit overpriced and the service was average.

Food was brilliant. We got the prawn platter for 2 served with rice and chips and the dynamite prawn burger. I’d recommend the prawn platter, after all you’re at Jimmys Prawns. Seasoning, was perfect the prawns were succulent. The burger was okay. Staff were not as attentive, possibly due to being a busy Saturday night - room for improvement for table service. However one staff in particular Mimi was brilliant! Constantly checking in and offering her services, she was very delightful. Clean cutlery, clean seating and tables. Constructive criticism- toilets were clean in general but the floor was a little wet and dirty. All in all I’d definitely will recommend the prawn platter! Great dish! And worth the great portions too!

1st time visiting and will definitely be back. We went for the surf n turf platter, this came with rice, steak chips and 3 dips. The food was awesome, the prawns style the the show, marinated to perfection, the fish fillet was cooked just right, the steak was decent but had better, the only negative was the flat cola, did feed this back. Amazing food and great service. I shared the Jimmy's seafood boil for two with my partner and it had lobster tails, crab, prawns, potatoes and egg in a lovely buttery sauce. You can choose a mild, medium or spicy sauce. Really tasty and great quality seafood, and very friendly staff. Would absolutely recommend.

Disappointed. Really over hyped. I got the Jimmys seafood boil with Creamy mild sauce. came out in 5 mins after ordering. Clearly pre-made. No flavour no seasoning. I can make tastier seafood in my kitchen. Looks the part but they may as well of brought it me in water.

This was one of the best places I have ever been. Huge mountain of big prawns and the yummiest rice ever, sauces were amazing. If you like prawns this is the place to be I PROMISE. Food stayed warm for a long time too so nothing went cold. Only minor downside is there is no free water and no alcohol. I think water being free should be a must but I just like alcohol.

Had a good experience at Jimmy’s Killer Prawns, and it’s a nice spot for a group dinner. We ordered the medium spicy 70 prawns for 4, but even with just 3 of us, it wasn’t quite enough, which was a bit disappointing considering the price. I also had the mussels starter in cream and spicy tomato sauce, which were pretty decent, though overall, the restaurant is on the expensive side. That said, the service was excellent—friendly and attentive staff made the experience enjoyable. The ambiance was nice, with a comfortable setting for a relaxed meal with friends. While the food was good, the portion sizes could be more generous for the price. Still, a solid place for seafood lovers looking for a quality meal in Manchester!

The place was a good place with nice atmosphere, the service was good and servers were polite and helpful, the food didnt take long either Unfortunately the food wasnt to the point we had prawns medium spice with chips, the prawns were seasoned nicely but it came with so much oil and my chips were swimming in the oil, that was not okay it should be separated. The ribs were not all that and they were very hard on the outside its like it was getting cooked for longer than intended and make the outside turn hard. Taste wise i will give it 5/10 The mosambiq beef strips with rice, that was the worst dish 2/10 the rice came mushy like a dried porridge And the meat strips were very salty due to the intense usage of say sauce The price was of course very high compared to the quality of the food. I would only recommend if you would only order the prawns and absolutely ask for them to be separated from the side dishes otherwise they will swim in oiL

This restaurant does not have any other outstanding points in addition to looking good, the owner and waiter of this restaurant are very fond of putting others aside, verbally promising to serve for a while, in fact, I can't see anyone for half a day, the speed of serving is OK, and the dishes can be served in 30 minutes. But this is definitely the least fresh lobster I've ever eaten in my life, all the shrimp meat is not firm at all, it is completely a long-dead shrimp, and then frozen for a long time, and a few shrimp have a very obvious smell that is masked by the seasoning. The boss was also very hard-mouthed, and after we put forward our opinions, he felt that we were looking for something and did not have the attitude to solve the problem. All in all very rubbish dining experience.

I have been a regular at Jimmys for a while and I would always rate it 4 or 5 stars. But my experience last night was unfortunately so bad. The food took so much time to come between starters and mains we waited around 40 mins. To only find that the order is missing. And what adds to it is that a waiter challenges me stating that it is my word against the other waiter which is so poor. So we wait for the rest of the order as my dad sits there watching us as he doesn't eat prawns. And because of the huge delay I get out to a parking ticket fine cause I didn't expect us to stay more than 2 hours for dinner. I love the resturant, but my experience last night will make reconsider going there ever again.

We had the loaded fries to start and then a saucy platter as well as a grilled platter. Everything tasted amazing. Looking forward to coming again to try the rest of the menu!

The food was very disappointing only had 6 prawns which says 8 and chips you could count in the bottom very sogy I have been to Jimmys before was ok but this delivery was stone cold and terrible after all that waiting not good at all first time in my life leaving a bad rewiev.

Excellent food as always. Service is always good, first time being serviced by Lucy today, who went the extra mile to ensure everything was OK for my dad who has throat cancer. Very attentive and professional.

I’m highly disappointed after trying this place for the first time, reason being me and my husband ordered seabass and it had an excessive amount of bones in so we couldn’t eat it and normally when I’ve ordered seabass at other restaurants it has been filleted and boneless. All I wanted was it removed off the bill or swapped for something else, and only had a bite of it, the manager came over and explained that’s how it comes and if I don’t want it there’s nothing he can do they don’t take anything off bill, I found this reply very strange so I said I didn’t want it and to remove off the table. The manager seemed like he didn’t care that we were put off and he just wanted the money at any cost. As I was eating the rest of the food I realised the rice was on the platter he removed so asked for some. Bill came and with no shock the seabass was still on even tho we hardly ate it and the other portion of rice.. Didn’t want to make more of a fuss so paid for it all and tipped but me and my partner will not visit again considering the way the manager handled the situation.

The restaurant is located in a good neighbourhood. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. I'm coming first time and supposed to be aware that they salted 🍤 a lot.That part was absolutely disappointing as I eating only 4 ,it was too much salted and I couldn't eat. Chicken breast was good .

Whilst the service was pleasant enough the biggest disappointment came from the food. The lamb chop starter was undercooked and bland. The chops were really fatty too. The mussels starter was overcooked. Because of the name, we got a platter to share between us. The prawns were a massive disappointment!! These definitely aren’t fresh - the texture and taste was severely lacking. It’s also fairly expensive for what it is

Went to Jimmy Killer in Manchester, and the seafood was really good, Alhamdulilah! The mussels with garlic bread were also great. I think they could add boiled eggs, sweetcorn, and more sauce options, but everything else I had was tasty.

Absolute disappointment having drove 200 miles to eat their 50 prawn deal which is advertised on specific days. I arrived on the specified days having checked their social media for any posts. All clear, arrived and they said “they are not doing the deal today”. I’m sorry but you can’t just decide that without notifying customers prior to this. It is a scam. The same deal if you want, they are charging £25 extra. Manager is very unhelpful, doesn’t care for customers and has a very bad attitude. Terrible! Terrible service. Not worth it. Best try elsewhere.
