Good cup of tea, didn't eat there so unable to comment

The service is rubbish, the food took ages to arrive, we’d finished our drinks and were in the queue to order more when the food arrived. The queue took so long, I gave up, we ate our food without drinks then rejoined the queue and ordered more drinks. It’s always understaffed and far too slow. The kitchen smells from the kitchen are off putting and the noise from chairs grinding against the floor is annoying…… Poor guy behind the counter is making coffee, delivering coffee to tables, clearing tables and serving at the till on his own…… Empty tables had dirty cups and plates on them, it wasn’t busy and this isn’t unusual, woefully understaffed….it was 11:00 when we went in. I work at the hospital, this is a convenient place for the staff to go on breaks. Everybody has a story about returning to work late as a result of slow service at the Waterloo. And the prices are widely discussed too….. Restaurant pricing, but cheap cafe service…..

Beyond a doubt, my favourite place for some posh nosh in Whitchurch Road. I’m definitely a regular now, and the menu you scrumptious, the service is wonderful, and theay they treat their customers is five star, and I should know, I worked in five star hotels and the food here definitely hits a high standard every time I dine. They’re wonderful to my little doggy too, and the clientele are a mix of young families, professionals and pretty girls. You can’t really go wrong, they have a brilliant selection of coffees and teas, they know exactly what they’re serving to you, and the staff are always delightful. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Had a lovely afternoon tea out with my mum today and had a lovely time out. All the staff were excellent and always smiling and Ree (not sure if that's the right spelling) who served us was especially chatty and was very helpful when we were trying to figure out what tea to have, we couldn't have asked for better service! The food itself was delicious! I think our favourites were the sandwiches and despite feeling almost too full to move after halfway through we had to finish it all with a few much needed breaks to drink our wonderfully selected tea.

I stopped by while I waited for my partner who had exams at the All Nations Church and I was disappointed to say the least. I’ll list each issue separately. Nothing personal against the cafe, the staff was lovely, just the food and coffee is some of the worst I have had in a long while! The customer service was immaculate and thorough from one of the younger members of staff. However that’s as good as this review gets. I believe they use Hasbean coffee, not just cheap swill, which was exciting. However, it was unfortunately drowned in syrup and undrinkable. This is my first time I have not finished a coffee, it was unfortunately that bad. The cake I had (orange and pistachio) was dry, it tasted 3 days old. It did not hold its shape when being picked up by my fork and it just crumbled apart. My partners Egg and Sausage bap looked amazing, but was under seasoned. Whilst the egg was amazing and a nice runny yolk, it was bought down by, yet again, a dry bun and some overcooked sausages. The prices for everything are just overpriced. £8 for one sausage and egg bap? My local I can get a sandwich, brownie and drink for that, or a panini with side salad and tortilla. Safe to say I won’t be coming back again!

A great choice of green teas, some lovely cakes. Dog friendly. It would be great to have one of these in Barry.

Banana bread was not cakey texture, it was wet and too soft, as if it’s been microwaved with soft berries making texture worse. 😂🥴

Nice atmosphere and very friendly service. Food and coffee were ok, nothing special but vastly overpriced. I wouldn't go there again to meet someone but it's not going to make my list of 'go to' tea/coffee shops.

We came here for brunch on a cold and rainy Sunday afternoon. The food was spectacular, I would definitely come back soon. I would consider making it my regular studying cafe but I feel like it gets a bit loud at times. Prices feel reasonable as well!

Good food but a little expensive.

Wow! What a fantastic discovery! The food was fantastic and at good prices. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. A great place for a meal or a coffee.

This place is very strange. It’s very hot and steamy almost all the time, the chairs drag and squeal on the floor. Both available tables were covered in sticky, dirty coffee marks. You have to go up to the bar to retrieve menus and again to order - strange choice for a place that prices itself as a restaurant, but acts like a café. Total came to almost £40 for three eggs Benedict and a coffee. Eggs were small and not far off raw, and the Hollandaise sauce was very sour. One piece of bread. Wouldn’t recommend, regret going!

Another fab Waterloo Tea cafe, nice and spacious. Fantastic range of teas and loved the banana bread with espresso spread.

Took my girlfriend here and stupidy overpriced for what we got. Coffee overpriced and almost £9 for 1 egg, 2 tiny sausages in a bap with a tiny bit of mint yoghurt... we will not be returning

Sparse looking inside, dirty tables, food menu overpriced, however, cheddar sandwich was ok though.

Excellent food and superb service from a lovely young lady with a winning smile. Coffee was a bit mediocre, but the one thing that really let this place down was the disgustingly filthy sofas, greasy, stained and blackened. Unfortunately, this really cast doubt over the cleanliness of the areas you can't see. Such a shame.

They currently have a £5 coffee/tea + cake deal (weekdays only). I always have a black coffee (I'm an easy date) - it was very good coffee and a good size. For the cake, I had a slice of the best carrot cake I've ever eaten in my life (and I've had a lot of carrot cake). It was light, moist, flavourful and not overly sweet (including the cream cheese topping). The other cakes look very appealing too, so I'll give them a try soon. This location has lots of tall glass windows that let in a lot of natural light, and I like the wooden chairs and tables - it's a nice place to be. In the summer, the windows open fully and that adds to the open and airy feel. I think they probably could add more seating capacity if they needed to. I've always found the staff to be friendly and responsive. The toilet is clean, well furnished and spacious. They probably need to keep an eye on two things - keeping on top of clearing the tables, and ensuring good airflow/ventilation with an ajar window. Both have varied during my visits but I wouldn't go so far as to say there's a general trend. If I lived locally, I'd be here frequently.

Absolutely exceptional! One of the best alternative breakfasts I have had in my life. The attention to detail is brilliant, with fair prices being charged for high quality food and drink. When tea is brought out you even get a brewing timer, and the vine tomatoes in my freshly baked broche roll were even smoked with the vine according to the chef Kas who works here. I would highly recommend to all, and certainly shall be returning when I am in the area!!!

A lovely cafe, part of a small group of independents in Cardiff. The bifolding windows are a lovely touch for a hot day. Plenty of seating here!

Sandwiches were delicious, very creative! The coffee was very average in taste. Price quite high for a single sandwich, and for some odd reason payments are card only. Overall, good experience. Pyszne kanapki, całkiem kreatywnie zrobione. Kawa dość przecietna. Wysokie ceny jak na kanapki, a możliwość płatności tylko kartą. Ogólnie, całkiem znośne doświadczenie.

The food here is exceptional - I had the jackfruit ciabatta and it was delicious. Great value for money too - coffee and lunch for under £10 is excellent when it is to this level of quality.

Lovely clean place to visit service very Quick, but the only problem are selfish people with laptops hogging tables, i was in there for 40mins i had two cups of coffee and people with laptops sat there with one cup of coffee who were sat there before i entered,still sat there when i left with the same cup. It was like walking into a boardroom where everybody was working. I think you should limit the Internet use to 30mins then they have to pay if they need longer.

Spotlessly clean, warm welcome upon arrival. Nice selection of drinks and food. Plenty of seats, with lots of space. Will definitely be calling in again.
