Enjoyed the food but don't think they actually gave us the beef dishes we ordered. Service was pretty bare and when we went to pay for our order she told us that the price on the menu is actually different from what we ordered! They also only accept cash despite having signs out front saying otherwise. Rubbish experience will avoid in future

Food was ok, but I was not happy when I found that it was cash only even though it says outside that we could pay with card. And the menu was out of date, I had a beef brisket which I thought cost £12 but was in fact £13.50. The waitress didn't bother to come to the table to collect my order and I had to go up in the end. Do not recommend.

We came to this restaurant in doubt but we are glad we came. Excellent service excellent food and thank to all staff. We are certainly coming again and we will bring friends as well.

My dad and I went to Little Vietnamese Restaurant this evening for dinner and it was absolutely lovely. We haven't been there before and it does not disappoint. The food was delicious, really fragrant and flavourful, staff were so friendly and helpful, and the restaurant environment itself is very beautiful and tasteful with a mural on the back wall. I had the passion fruit ice tea and stir fry beef with chilli, would 100% recommend. Overall an excellent choice for a meal out. Thank you so much, will definitely be coming back again

Great food although suspicious of the beef curry. It tasted very Thai. Anyway, good points are great tasting food, very fresh, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Bad points, very expensive for the size of the meals. The portions could double in size for the price. As said at the begining, the beef curry tasted very Thai. And finally, the service charge at the end should be scrapped. Service is included in the meal and tips are paid depending on service and price fairness. Also, this restaurant is cash or bank transfer only. We would go back but not as often as we would like. What you see in the photo with 2 cans of coke and a can of sprite cost £50.05 with service charge added. It's very pricey.

This is the best Vietnamese food I’ve had outside of Vietnam. Such delicious dishes, particularly the Pho stir fry. Enchanting atmosphere and the staff are incredibly friendly. Can’t wait to visit again. Love this little gem of a place ❤️

Our first time eating here and we thoroughly enjoyed it! The food was excellent and service impeccable. Definitely a hidden gem and highly recommended. Like many other businesses, the owner told us how hard it was to get customers in and are struggling financially to keep the restaurant open - please check Little Vietnam out and help keep it going!

Totally a nightmare. Apart from poor service provided tonight, can you imagine the waitress dare to request the customer to handover the beef pho which is dammed hot without any protection? Who should be responsible if the hot pho fall off accidentally ? The cuisine is tasteless, and arrangement is terrible. Only Vietnam hot coffee has a credit. Their reply for this service is: the chief is in hospital. I had been a loyal fan of Vietnam cuisine. But after this, I change my mind. You cannot always trust the positive comment on line.

Fantastic food! Very authentic, we had the Beef Steak Pho, Shrimp dumplings and Clam Soup, washed down with a Hanoi Beer of course. The service was very attentive and the restaurant very clean and well decorated. The decor made you feel like you were sat somewhere near the Mekong Delta. Highly recommend

We had a great time here yesterday evening. The service was incredible - the waitress was attentive and extremely helpful. I wanted a mixture of two dishes on the menu (hot and spicy Tofu, with Pho noodles instead of rice noodles) and they accommodated my request like it was no problem. The food was delicious. It was so filling I had to take half of it home. The waitress actually offered a takeaway pot and prepared this when we paid for the bill. I had the Iced coffee which was like a sugary mocha and enjoyed it so much I ordered a second one. I would definitely recommend this place and we will be returning :)

The restaurant is beautifully decorated, attentive service, dishes suitable for Central and Hue tastes. In particular, the communal clam dish is very delicious. A Vietnamese culinary spot in Wales.

Simple restaurant with great Pho!

The lady who received us was very attentive and diligent. She recommended the Steam Roll (Pork) to us, which is a very unique Vietnamese food. It tastes very good. Like the spring rolls, it can be seen that it is cooked with great skill. The restaurant has a good sense of space and is thoughtfully decorated. I personally like the light music and songs that were played at that time.

It was the best Pho I had so far. It’s tasty and not the type of soup that comes out of a cube or packet. No MSG flavour. Fresh wholesome food. Spring rolls a little pricey but awesome. Will be back for more !

Having just come back from a holiday in Vietnam I had to try this restaurant next to The Globe. Excellent food, served very quickly by friendly staff. I had a lovely chat with the owner Li. The food is authentic Vietnamese capturing all the flavours. I will be heading back there soon to have a multi course meal.

Bad experience and service is also poor.

Very cold here no heater on, and when I pay they said cash only but I didn’t took too much cash and I want to use card, by the way they order wrong food for us twice, so bad service and will never go there again.

Unfortunately we had a really bad experience tonight. Food was mostly awful. I had the duck rice and it was like fried jerky, very bland rice. No heating or music in there, staff member walking around with a puffer jacket. Non existen service. Very overpriced. Shame as was looking forward to had a proper Vietnamese.

Went to little Vietnam and the food was awful, it was so bland, had to add so much soy sauce just to add some flavour. It was a very cold night and when we walked in it was freezing, the heating wasn’t on so had to keep my coat on. There was no atmosphere no real smell of cooking which should have been a red flag, there was only 2 other party’s when we walked in and by the time we finished we were the only ones there. Had the pho beef combo and the meat was questionable, there was a ball shaped meat and did not taste of beef so I’m not sure what meat it was, I just hope I’m not sick tonight! Yeh don’t bother going, what a waste of money.

We must have dined on an off day. Pancake rolls were over cooked. Only ordered one Portion to share but two arrived. No big deal as the mains were slow to arrive. Waitress struggled with English, she wasn’t sure they had beer, but understood when I pointed to the large boxes full of them. Mains was bland. Not cheap street food at £64 for two. The temp inside was cold and deathly silence due to lack of background music. Won’t return

The food was good except for the beef curry which my daughter said tasted off (too much coconut milk) however the service was ultra slow as they had a big party for family which seemed to take up all their time. We waited an hour for food. At the end, their card machine wasn’t working. We had to go across the road to try and get cash, but that cash machine wasn’t working either so we had to come back and after some fiddling, their card machine finally worked. Not a place to go if they are busy as they can’t seem to handle the crowd.

This place as much as it looks authentic is not that great. Only pho really taste authentic. Other dishes have lots of coconut cream and very little meat. Also the service charge is included in a price and you need to pay by cash, but the restaurant doesn't have cash to give you money back ???

True Vietnamese street food with all its freshness, spices, and amazing flavour combinations. The soups and especially the Phō are, contrary to some reviews, exactly how they're supposed to be. Fresh, not overpowering, but perfectly balanced. The summer rolls and salads are great, as well. Highly recommended. Only caveat: card/contactless payment isn't possible right now as the system's broken, so cash payment is necessary. There are a lot of ATMs in the immediate vicinity, though.

Sehr leckeres Essen. Wir hatten jeweils eine Vorspeise und ein Hauptgericht, dazu Getränke = 60 £. Das Geräte für die Kartenzahlung war kaputt, deshalb haben wir gegenüber schnell Bargeld abgehoben. Wir würden auf jeden Fall nochmal kommen!

First time to try this restaurant for my birthday. Really disappointing on so many levels. Over priced starters, very bland pho and poor quality goat meat with a tiny portion for £15. Really long wait time without a check to see if the food was ok when it arrived. We were keen to leave and then were told that it is cash only. This should have been communicated at the start. We will not be returning as been to many Vietnamese restaurants which are more authentic and flavoursome. Total let down all for the price of £60.

Had a fabulous meal here with my two adult children last Friday. We loved everything about it and the lovely owner / manager was really helpful with menu choices and food sensitivities. It was really special Loved the decor too.. Came very close to not going in because it looked empty but it was an illusion as tables not visible from the windows It was actually busy but our table felt nice private due to the layout allowing good space between tables .. a rarity ! We didn’t feel rushed at all and will definitely be back to try other dishes on the extensive menu

Excellent authentic Vietnamese food. Unlike that UK Chain Pho, this place does authentic stuff. Fresh rice noodle for their traditional Vietnamese pho (beef rice noodle soup) , Vietnamese spring roll wrapped with lettis, summer roll. Traditional home made desserts. Thank GOD Cardiff finally have a quality Vietnamese restaurant that does authentically delicious food!

I ordered a bun of lemongrass pork with the spring roll on Thursday, The pork was overnight, had no taste, it cost over £12 a dish and they did not ask me how the food was.

Strongly recommend Pink Guava Drink and Beef Combo Pho. An authentic and delicious taste of Vietnam. But chicken curry is salty and not sweet as I thought. Overall good experience.

Fantastic, authentic, honest food. Welcoming atmosphere, staff more than happy to suggest best options. Great selection of original condiments and soft drinks (lychee juice was delicious). Highly recommend, a visit here is an experience.

Visited yesterday for an evening meal with my girlfriend. I have a peanut allergy which I told the waitress about. We expressed NO peanuts at all in any dishes we ordered. Despite telling them about my allergy, the summer rolls we ordered STILL came with peanuts in the sauce which I obviously avoided but this is completely unprofessional and clearly the chef was not made aware. After eating one bite of my main course (Wok fried prawn noodle) I had a severe anaphylactic allergic reaction. We notified the manager who began to make various excuses, such as there were 100% no peanuts in the main course and that I could be allergic to something else that I wasn’t aware of and should get it checked out. Clearly though, either there was peanuts in the dish or some cross contamination. We also ordered the pork spring rolls which they guaranteed were peanut free as well. We then asked for the bill - at which point the manager began packing up the dish for us to take home even though I was having a severe allergic reaction to it. We still took it home as we did not want to embarrass the staff or cause a scene. I also had to pay full price because they did not offer compensation, and I was desperate to get home so did not want to waste time arguing for compensation/a refund. When we got home, my condition deteriorated rapidly - I wont post any photos but I broke out in severe hives all over my body so there was clearly some peanuts in the food. Regardless of the allergy, the starters were quite poor - the summer rolls were very overpriced for what you get and the spring rolls were burnt. However, my gf said she did enjoy the pho beef brisket. To conclude, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life with ZERO compensation. Will not be coming back here. I urge anyone with an allergy to avoid this place.

Quality of the meat is really bad, we had beef brisket pho which was chewy and a chicken curry with frozen vegetables and chicken. I had to wait 15min to get my drink. Noone asked us how was the food even if we left most of it on the plate since we didn't enjoy it. At the end they add service charge to the bill and I am fine with that as long as there is a SERVICE. We paid 45 pounds for a disappointing meal I can easily cook better at home. How can u use frozen vegetables like carrot when it's literally available in every grocery. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. It's better to try PHO in the city center. It's way better.

Staff were really friendly and the restaurant looks great, having said that the food was really disappointing. The starters were good but the Pho main was so bland. The meat was inedible overdone dry grissle. I am in no way a fussy eater and usually eat bones fat and all but the quality of the meat was incredibly poor and the broth had no depth. Left feeling really disappointed, the other menu items we tried were ok but for the money were very small portions. The Pho needs serious work. Left feeling so disappointed as Cardiff deserves a proper representative of Vietnamese food as its one of the best cuisines on the world.

The staff here are very welcoming and friendly, the food is absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced. I came here for dinner with my boyfriend and we each had beef brisket pho and crispy prawn rolls - it was delicious! The decor inside was lovely too, highly recommend this restaurant😊

The menu is extensive, it is really hard to choose because everything sounds so lovely. The food was wonderful. My favourite dish was the Vietnamese pancake - crispy, stuffed with juicy prawns. Wonderful. Other highlights were the mango salad, the summer rolls and the Vietnamese curry. I love all the dips and condiments on offer so you can season your own dishes. Service was lovely, so friendly and welcoming. I also ordered some takeaway to take home for my husband and this was prepped and handed to me ready to go just as my friend and I were finishing our dinner. Lovely addition to the Roath food scene, highly recommended!

Food was bland except for the 1 starter that they remembered but may have contaminated my servings. Mains only had tofu as vegan options. Taste profile was not indicative of cuisine. Added 20% service charge although this was non existant. Plus pricey for tasteless dishes.

We had the beef brisket pho, the steak pho and prawn summer rolls. The pho did remind me of authentic Vietnamese food, but just lacking in any sort of flavour. The summer rolls were very fresh, but also lacking in taste. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and polite, would go back to try something else on the menu.

We are disappointed about the food. The curry wasn't served in a separate bowl, which makes it hard to enjoy the broth. Both cà ri gà and bún bò are bland. We are glad that we didn't order and waste money on anything else.

Absolutely incredible food. Had the Tofu Pho soup (vegan), the broth was rich and delicious, and the tofu was silky smooth with a crunchy outer layer. 10/10

I was there with my friend and we ordered 5 dishes to share, the food was okay but I think the price was quite high for the quality. - summer rolls: 2 pieces for 8.5 way too expensive and the rolls and sauce was not tasty - lotus salad chix: the portion was super small compared to other Vietnamese restaurants in town, quiet plain and it cost 10£ - nem lui: this one is the best out of 5 dishes we orderd. again, only 4 peices for 12.5. - fried rice: portion was better but my friend said he can make better rice and rated 2/10 - noodles with bbq: was okay but i thought it comes with spring rolls i feel like the photos on their website are tajej from the internet. the actual portion is smaller in general, I think they should lower the price or increase the food quality at least the waitress was friendly Tbh, i feel sad but i would not suggest this place if things are same

After walking around the streets of Cardiff, tired of looking at the same group of crack heads, overly loud and obnoxious hen parties and toxic masculine groups of men, I have found a safe haven away from them and its called Little Vietnam. This restaurant is cosy, stylish and warm and their food is sensational, reminds me of my grandmother’s cooking, just full of love. So if you ever want to get away from the “riff raffs” and typical “Roadmen” of Cardiff, please go to Little Vietnam and they will give you the best customer service and home cook meal in Cardiff.

All of the dishes were presented with care, everything tasted super fresh and all served with some of the best, most attentive service I’ve had out in a long time! On the table: 📸 🇻🇳King Prawn and Lemongrass Salad: a cold crunchy and slightly spicy salad of king prawns, beanspouts, carrots, green mango, cucumber, fresh coriander and chillies, slathered in a lemon and fish sauce dressing, topped with toasted peanuts! Having lived in asia for a long time this is the best asian food experience in Cardiff yet. Fabulous and I never write reviews but this place is worth it and the staff are amazing

We were looking forward to trying this Vietnamese in Cardiff, however, despite the welcoming friendly reception, the overall experience is not one we would like to repeat. The decor of the place is beautiful. We had a couple of starters, of which the spring rolls and chicken wings were excellent - all very promising. The surprise came with the arrival of the mains. We had specifically requested no peanuts to be used on any dishes, due to my son's allergy, repeating this instruction twice. However, the waitress appeared slightly dismissive was observed not to note this down. So both portions of Bun Thit Nuong (Rice noodles with barbecued pork) had a heap of crushed peanuts on the side. The response when questioned about our request? Something along the lines of "We have others with allergy, so we just put them on the side. We don't cook with them." At that point we should have stood up and walked, but luckily his allergy doesn't require an epi-pen, so with hungry children we decided to avoid sharing. Nevertheless it is a callous attitude and downright dangerous practice to put something on a dish which was specifically requested not to. What's the point of the signs asking clients to speak to their server about any allergies or dietary needs?? Sadly that's not where it ended, because the quality of the food on this occasion was a let down, too. Delicious dishes could have saved the day, but not only did they use cheap belly cuts that were by all appearances "grilled" in the oven instead of using prime tenderloin and at least a torch, the fatty rind was chewy and had a slight "porky" taste of meat going old. The one spoon of pho broth from my wife's bowl also tasted "off" - the same way that minced meat smells and tastes when it's left open for too long and turns brown. It's a shame. We went in with high hopes, but these were smashed to pieces with below average food and a disastrous allergy management policy.

Highly recommend. The food is flavourful and healthy, very fresh ingredients.
