Attending a drag night at the waterfront and it was an absolutely brilliant night. From the food, cocktails, service and particularly the Drag Act. Definitely would recommend. Thanks Waterfront!

A little gem of a restaurant in a gorgeous setting. Being very popular with the locals points to good value for money, a well balanced menu and not 'over the top' prices. Having sampled several of the dishes over a 12 month period, I can understand why it has a good reputation. My friend and I take lunch, so I cannot comment on the evening service, but if it is anything like lunchtime you need to arrive early or book your table. Staff are friendly and helpful, the meals are well cooked and delivered hot to your table. There is a good variety of dishes. Well worth a visit.

Booked 6.30pm on a Tuesday evening. No problem booking. Mains A rump steak Came in 2 very small pieces looked as if it had been manipulated to increase surface area but failed. Top dollar for poor quality Rump I’m afraid. Tuna steak Looked like it came from a freezer bad with a lot of other Tuna Steaks. Chewy is not an under statement. We had started with both of us having the soup of the day. We did get told what it was but if you had tasting you would k ow what it tasted of. So to summarise this place is like trying to book an audience with the pope during summer but seriously cannot see the attraction. Market Harborough has far better to offer. Don’t be a captive audience. 😎

Went for lunch, wife ordered the Sea Bass, allegedly pan fried, skin was not cooked yet the flesh side was overcooked, the sauce lacked both body and flavour samphire garnish was very sparse and accompanied by three boiled potatoes. I had the koftas which were good accompanied by Mediterranean vegetables and couscous, the koftas were good the vegetables were few, and the couscous could have been twined with the Gobi Desert, it was so dry.

site_logo

MORE AT TripAdvisor

Our midweek lunch out was supposed to be a treat but, sadly, this was no treat. The sea bass had not been cooked long enough on the skin side but too long on the flesh, so the skin was flabby and inedible and the flesh had a hard crust to it. The “creamy” sauce was watery and lacking in flavour, and the tiny quantity of samphire was so thin that it had neither taste nor texture. The lamb koftas were acceptable but the accompanying couscous was dry and the small quantity of yogurt dressing was insufficient to moisten the dish. Both dishes were under-seasoned and, at these prices, we found the overall quality very disappointing. At no point were we asked if we were happy with our meals but my husband mentioned our disappointments when he paid the bill. The only response was that his comments would be “fed back”, and only when returning home did we realise that a service charge had been added to the bill. Had he noticed this sooner, he would most certainly have asked for its removal.

The teriyaki beef is more like beef jerky. When I politely mentioned it was inedible to the manager, she stomped off into the kitchen and then announced in a loud voice to the restaurant “I asked the chef and that’s how it is”. I called her back and said I didn’t appreciate her rudeness and she continued to shout. She said she didn’t care about reviews because people would still go there. Lovely meal here tonight on a sunny evening. Sea bass was very nice. Crab sauce could be thicker and with more flavour. I suggest serving with some bread. My bugbear is dogs. As someone with a severe allergy to canines I find it incredible that dogs are allowed in eating establishments. The incessant yapping of one pooch was not good if a child carried on like that a responsible parent would deal with him/her but it seems dog owners aren’t bothered by a sniffing yapping animal wandering around on an extendable lead. I’m sure you have a dog loving clientele who walk their dogs along the canal but not everyone appreciates eating around animals. Staff are your biggest plus, fabulous customer service.

I’m not a fan of busy pubs, but this one was busy and I actually didn’t mind, the atmosphere, despite being busy, was calm and collected, the ambience was perfect and there was a lovely clientele of people, no rowdy behaviour - a perfect setting for such a place as well, right by the canal basin. The food was amazing, the service was spot on, the place itself was quaint and lovey and clean. I will definitely be coming here again, all four of us left satisfied and happy, wishing to return sooner rather than later. The photos are of the puddings my son and I had (Belgian chocolate truffle torte with honeycomb ice cream and then the other, a mint and white chocolate cheesecake with choc chips), I totally forgot to do the main course, but loved my burger and my son loved his pork belly. I would say I totally hated the food just so I could guarantee that it was on the menu for me next time, but that would be unfair and do the place no justice at all as it was spot on with everything. However this positive experience was decidedly sullied when I witnessed what can only be called abusive behaviour by a male manager (English not his first language) towards a waitress - to the point of bringing her to tears. I just want to have said manager consider his behaviour. Does he not have a mother, a sister, a daughter, a niece? That waitress is going to be some or all those things - how would he feel if he discovered that one of *his* loved ones was treated like that?? That conduct & behaviour was *not* okay - & needs to be called out, especially in this whole era of Andrew Tate worship.

Well having read the reviews I rather expected something very special, sadly I was disappointed. Arrived at 12.00 , seated promptly all good so far. Drinks order taken and served fairly swiftly but then the problems began. 4 of our party ordered starters (the sharing bread and baked camenbert) 40 mins later we had to ask if they had forgotten our order!! The starters finally arrived after waiting for a hour. Not really acceptable. The mains were no better , we were finally told to go and get the cavery where the sever had to be asked to use separate utensils to serve a gluten free in our party. It took him an age to organise this..again not really acceptable. We saving grace was the actual food which was delicious although I finally had to ask for a knife to cut my beef..it was not tough it was a blunt knife. Sadly to remaining members of our party who had not wanted the cavery were finally served as we finished our meal. Such a shame the service was so, so slow.

It looked nice outside and in there with the fairy and table lights and that’s about it.. As soon as we walked through the doors, we just felt like we were made to feel unwelcome. When we took our coats off and sat down, the waitress went to take our drinks orders starting at the end of the table. She took my mother’s order for a cup of iced water, then left us. Leaving us all a bit like err what about the rest of us? The food and eventual drinks were expensive and quality wasn’t up to par with the prices charged. One of the kids pizza’s arrived burnt along with the Waterside burger I ordered, which arrived completely charred black and crunchy. Clearly the chef got distracted in the kitchen and I get that people do sometimes but I don’t know how someone would look at the patty that got cremated and go ‘yeah, that’ll do the customer’ and not have put it straight in the bin.

Great atmosphere and had everything we needed in the pod! Heater and Bluetooth speaker. The food was good for the price but the service was a little slow, although it was a busy evening. Would definitely recommend for a romantic evening

I order quire regularly via online. I have not had any major problems with the food. On the 20th of Nov 2024 I ordered online the service was fine. When we tried the food we were most disappointed. Over cooked chips beans were dry no juice and a very dry pie. Normally I would not post but we are considering not ordering from there again.

Fantastic outlet inside a nice indoor market, the whole experience was a pleasure from ordering to eating. The staff are super friendly and the meal was served quickly. Coffee and tea readily available along with soft drinks, fresh ingredients always will definitely return and it won't be long!!! Well done guys 😀

Was a beautiful and enjoyable, but recently, the service has slipped and drinks also downgraded, but prices upped. No more Krafts of wine. Bar staff ate very young, inexperianced, and unfortunately, we were charged £34 for two glasses of wine when the bottle was £32. Didn't correct and wouldn't change. Prices have gone up whilst it's taken longer to get service. It's a shame because the place is beautiful, the live music is brilliant, and very talented local artists. Great atmosphere, and you could spend all night in there if the prices, menu, and service went back to how it was a year ago.

Trendy bar with comfortable sofa seating in the main bar area, and a nice back garden.
