Portion is plenty. Had chicken that must be left over from lunch time served from tin rather fresh from the skewer. Chicken was dry and chewy and had to be thrown in the Bin

Ordered fish & chips for 3 plus child's chicken nugget & chips to take home in the shop yesterday. The chips for 3 were served in one helping instead of separately and were undercooked and soggy. Then, today, I checked my bank and find they have taken the £38 pmt twice! However, the service was cheerful.update: £38 was returned to my account within 24 hrs

Here are some tips to avoid inedible or tacky food: Don’t have the chicken from the “tin where pre-cut and kept warm”, my chicken was small dry dregs probably swept up from the bottom of the skewer at lunch time, I tried gnashing on it but it had to go in the bin, the portion was generous though! The pancake roll is in fact a diced cabbage roll without beansprouts lacking tecture and taste, yuk! I filed it under B1n! Shame the establishment serves this under par food to people , I would not have the conscious to it! Chips were a good portion and nice !

Nothing wrong with the food. I don't enjoy giving bad reviews but I am completely disgusted by the unexpected service charge. I made a telephone order for collection. When I arrived to collect and looked at the receipt I saw a £5.50 service charge. When I asked what it was for I was informed that I had been charged per item for ordering over the phone. Completely shocking! At no point was I informed that I would be charged extra for pre-ordering. I have done so many times in the past without the charge.

Fish and chips are good and always consistently good, we especially like and recommend the halloumi fritters and the fish bites for kids! The stand out thing is the staff and service they provide. They went above and beyond to rectify a small mistake with our order which left my wife and I amazed and surprised. Really impressed and enjoy are regular chippy dinner. Having tried a few in Market Harborough it's definitely our favourite!😋

Haven't been to Blue Wave for a while, and won't be going back! Last night's takeaway was a serious disappointment - the cod was tasteless, mushy and greasy, the chips were undercooked and the beef pie was without doubt the worst pie we've had from any takeaway, anywhere - hard and completely dried out - when I cut into it, nothing came out! - the tiny amount of filling was all stuck to the edges... And on top of all that, it was expensive! - £32 for 3 people - would have been £27 elsewhere...

Top quality fish ,cod ,haddock cips ,and cod ,top quality very clean ,and genuine taste of food ,time serving less than 10 minutes .

We stopped off here on the way home a few nights back, and we were impressed. Not only with our order, customer service was equally great. Wouldn’t hesitate to visit again.

I've had many gluten free take-aways from here in the past which all hit the 5/5 mark, but I was a little anxious on my recent return due to change of management, so-so reviews, etc. But, no need to worry! as last Monday's take away proved, it's gluten free heaven all over again! My partner had the non gf f & c & says that they're as good as ever, too.

Delicious fish, delicious chips, brilliant service, excellent value and spotlessly clean!! Cannot be faulted and we will be back. :)

I just had a portion of chips and it was fine, the large is very large. I asked for salt and vinegar and couldn’t really taste any but idc

Used to be best around (IMO) but the quality has gone down hill and fast! Chips have grit in them, the potatoes are bad, the fish doesn't taste of anything.. Gave them 3 chances should have not bothered after the second time.. won't be back!

Huge portions, freshly cooked. Inside tables, but too warm to sit. Takeout is the way to go.

I never thought I’d write a negative review for this place but the customer service was shocking. We ordered online to be delivered between 5-5:15. The chips got delivered cold (they open at 5) and the veggie nuggets had clearly been reheated. After we rang up for a replacement meal which was a hassle to get. I was eating my donner kebab and when picking through the meat I saw a hair. It has put me off. If this was a cheep and cheerful place it’s more understood but this is unacceptable. Do better.

Placed an order for a whole office of 22 people. They managed to sort everything out for the collection time, and even labelled everyone’s order on each tray.

Possibly the best fish & chip shop in Market Harborough. The food is cooked well and is seriously delicious. My standard order from here is battered fish, a battered sausage, chips and curry sauce. Absolutely recommended.

Customer service is super good. They are busy but worth waiting a couple of min for heaven food 😋

Not as good as it was - unsure of what has changed but the chips especially are not as fresh and crisp as they used to be. ( based on the last 2 or 3 visits over a month or so. The staff and service are great!

Very disappointing. I have ordered from Blue Wave in the past and not had any issues until today. The fish batter wasn't cooked properly, the cod was tasteless and the chips were soggy and brown in colour and had grit in them! The family have all complained so I will not be ordering from here again. To top it all, I only realized ordering online costs considerably more when I was in the shop, even though it is their own site! Not good enough, sorry!

This used to be such a lovely good value place to get a takeaway now the prices are a joke and the quality isn’t good. We had a sausage that was uncooked a few weeks back then last week we got re-cooked chips they were horrible. Won’t be using them again!!

Nice clean restaurant. Waiting times are fair considering they are always busy. You can order online ahead and collect.

Amazing chip shop but there's one problem..they are using the same oil to cook the food wich makes it really bad.. chips look horrible there not fresh..and the fish doesn't taste good either.. and there's no music the staff don't look very happy..I think this is a case of bad mannagment so I'm moving on to another chip shop

Pie and chips delivered very quickly. However chips were cold and looked as if they had been cooked twice and probably from last orders. They looked burnt and tasted awful. Pies were cold as well. Have used Blue Wave quite often but this was the worst delivery we’ve had. Will be looking elsewhere now.

Edit lost a star. Tried a bag of chips as i was passing just awful. Ones which were edible didnt taste great and then i threw a lot away, see pic. Black eyes, bruised, dont use a rumbler to peel potatoes so come out like wedges. Dont think most people like the skin left on their chip shop chips. I wont be returning again Sorry to say the quality has gone down hill. Went frequently, having tried nearly all the other chips shops, and been happy with the food. Of the last 4 times, 3 of the times the chips were gritty (potatoes not washed / soil?) thankfully the last time they didn't have this problem but chips tasted average, a bit soggy. The cod doesn't taste of much. I guess they have switched suppliers or getting inferior potatoes / fish. I drive through Corby coming back from work, and there are 2 excellent chippies there who haven't compromised on quality (yet?) and pick up from there now, its only 15-20 minutes before its on the table at home. I will try Blue Wave again periodically, hopefully they will win back my custom as i prefer to support local businesses...

Ordered a takeaway from their website. Cost me £26 of which £4 was a delivery charge! Was told it would be delivered within 45 minutes. Took an hour and 15 minutes of which I had to call them twice to ask where my food was. Eventually arrived...Cold! Batter was soggy, chips could well have been left over from lunchtime, mushy peas were liquid! The most disgusting fish and chips I have tasted!!! Called them to complain about the food being cold and they sent a replacement order within the 15 minutes. That arrived - this was hotter, except for the mushy peas which again were cold but the food still wasn't nice! Blue Wave used to be a great place for fish and chips! Not anymore - won't be getting my business again. Probably the worst fish and chips I've ever had and the service was pretty bad too!

I was enjoying this scoragous view upon the sign, until I suddenly got beat simultaneously by 3 employees and layer on submerged within extremely hot water. Was a lovely massage. 5 star, would recommend.

I walked in to the place seemed like a really nice environment then they straight up chucked the burning oil on me then skinned me alive with potato peelers

Had few times now chips have always been old every time never fresh donner meat always has hard boney bits in very off putting chicken always fatty delivery always late, staff ignorant

The staff are very friendly and very efficienct Thing is they prioritize takeaway orders rather than walk in's in other words you have to wait for your meal to which your ordered while you watch the staff make orders up phone orders .

Worst chips ever, looked like they were leftover from lunch times service, burnt and dry if they hit the floor they would have bounced, not worth £6 with the curry sauce which was watered down. Sadly they hit bin before I thought taking a picture throughly disappointed especially with an hour and 15mins before they closed.

Chips are not the best. Not sure what cut size they use but almost rectangular in cross section. Potatoes not cleaned too well either, many eyes and black spots. Everything else spot on. Get the chips right please.

Waited for over half an hour for chips. Girl chewing gum made me feel sick. Chips mediocre. Waited for half an hour last time I went in too. Teenager servers all there having a laugh.

We just had a terrible takeaway from this takeaway ordered two half pound cheeseburgers and we threw most of it out. Cheap tasteless burger patties, brown lettuce and bad chips were three of the highlights this chip shop seems incapable of any sort of consistency with their chips. Skin on, black bits and burnt ends were common with over half the chips below an acceptable standard and ending up in the bin. One of the burgers wasn't even as ordered checked no salad but got salad complete with brown lettuce. The burgers looked like they were just chucked together no care or attempt to present a pleasant appearance and I asked for sauce on my burger which was all over the top of the bun and chips and hardly any on the actual burger. Ordered large curry sauce and got a small just to top of the whole disappointing meal which when costing over £22 just wasn't acceptable. This might just be another order for blue wave but it's our one weekly treat and was bordering on disgusting and wasn't worth a tenner much less more then double that we paid. We won't be ordering from blue wave for a good long while as other chip shops seem able to maintain a good standard with their food we only ordered from blue wave because they did cheeseburgers that weren't worth the money this time.

Food is always nice but every time it’s either late and twice it’s not turned up.

The quality of food is aweful and has gone down so much, we used to love blue wave but won’t be going back, the chips we ordered recently was old and had been reheated, they tasted aweful, the oil is clearly old because you can taste the difference with fresh oil to old oil. Everything we had tasked and looked like it was a few days old. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money but when you start taking shortcuts you loose business. You have just lost a valuable regular customer.

The staff need immediate retraining, ignored on entry, rude when served, if I wasn't hungry I'd have walked out. Won't be returning

Don't know what's happened lately but past couple of times the large fish has tasted off resulting in funny tummy and chips look like they have been cooked in dirty oil. Used to be great. Won't be using again

Really nice gluten free fish but only on a Monday which is a shame. And although ours was wrapped in paper there was still quite a bit of polystyrene around.

Best chippy in harb (in my opinion), chips are always cooked well, fish is on point considering we’re nowhere near the sea & they’re not shy on portion sizes.

I orders Cod and Chips as usual and I was told it would be 5 mins - 18 minutes later my order was handed to me. When I arrived at home I unwrapped them only to find the MOST OVER cooked piece of fish I had ever seen - the fish extremely dry, fish had split into 3 pieces, better rock hard - the chips were ok? I have to say this is unusual as I have ordered previously but an extremely poor quality food and very disappointing experience.

Fish OK but chips very bitty and cut so thin awful, went a few weeks ago and was the same, but thought l would try again. Will be looking for another chippy ....

Best Gluten free fish and chips we have ever had. Cooked fresh whilst I waited. Not greasy, fish was fresh and the batter was crispy.

Don’t let the clean facade fool you it’s very greasy and mediocre at best, chips taste like they’ve been sat for a good hour(lunch time) I’d say 30% where inedible due to dryness and being hard as stone(honestly don’t know how they achieved this). Battered sausage was almost white=mass produced rubbish shame given the local butchers are award winning…lazy. If it wasn’t for the roll I’d of wasted £5 and still been hungry. If your in the area just go somewhere else…..literally anywhere you won’t regret it

It's a fish and chip shop, or chipper depending on where you're from. Wide range of alternatives to fish. Just as well as fish and chips is expensive, and my haddock is very expensive. Service is fast and efficient.

Fish n chips very good. Kebabs vary with the meat and the salad. Sometimes thick chunky bits of kebab meat Sometimes not enough salad. Very tasty though that's why I order here regularly.

Food quality seems to vary quite a lot, my delivery arrived extremely soggy batterd fish and chips quite hard.

Very disappointing. We ordered on line for early collection at 5pm. The fish was massively over cooked and dry and the chips lukewarm. It tasted like the previous nights left overs reheated. Sorry.. we won’t be back

Lovely fish and chips nice size portions and staff are always friendly. they do gluten free a couple of nights a week. calamari batter could be a bit thicker so it sticks them a bit better.

First 4 star post was a mistake. After many good meals from Blue wave, tonight's was bad, Cod was tiny and had a small thin piece of some other tastless fish played on top then battered, chips were dry, hard and tasteless, we used to recommend blue wave.

I am a regular user of The Blue Wave and up until recently was very happy with their products. However in 3 of my last 4 visits they have not been able to supply my order due to being 'out of stock' At before 8pm...

This is the third time we have delivered online now. Each time the order has been very late. This time bas been the worst... we have been waiting for over 2 hours, still no food. I can see the restaurant have apologised previously for late...

I would give this six stars if I could, then take one away and replace it with two. The fish was 1) perfectly cooked and 2) massive. The chips were also delicious, as was the curry sauce. Inside was spotlessly clean, and the food was served on actual plates with metal cutlery. Quite a rarity for a fish and chip shop. Eight stars

Food arrived - barely warm after an hour and forty minutes. Kebab with salad should be advertised as salad with a few bits of meat. Don’t ask for sauce because they won’t put it on. Large chips would have left a small child still hungry....

Ordered quite a large order of fish, chips and peas and they arrived promptly on time, hot and delicious. Definitely recommend.

We had a delivery of scrumptious fresh fish and chips tonight. Our order was done easily online. It was delivered on time, with a smile and as the portions were so generous, we have leftovers. Great job Blue Wave. We’ll definitely be back !

Had my first take away fish and chips yesterday and it was really great. Came on time and was beautifully cooked, with no additional greasy bits.
