Just round the corner from Matthewsons "Bangers and Cash" garage, Jon and Jane serve up a great range of breakfast options, from full cooked, through "lighter" versions to eggs Benedict. They also do traditional lunches and coffee/tea and cakes. A friendly welcome and good quality food. Recommended.

On a coffee stop on a coach tour of the area, walking from the car park we encountered a couple of closed for the day eateries. As most of the party were making their way to a bakery for their drinks we opted to go to Warrington House, we were greeted by a friendly woman who swiftly took our order, 4 of us just had hot drinks and partner had a scone also. They were getting ready for lunch service and with more time we would have eaten there.

My friend and I were looking for a place to have some Coffee and cake and we stumbled across this delightful little place. Warrington House is a small Guesthouse, with four letting double rooms. It is also a Restaurant and a Tea room. When we found out they sold Tea made with Camomile flowers, we changed our minds about the coffee and had a pot each of Camomile Tea. We also had a huge slice of Butterscotch Cake, which was fresh and delicious! We found it to be very favourably priced, with a lovely selection of cake and also homemade Scones with butter, Cream and strawberry jam. Altogether a very pleasant place and I certainly recommend it!

Discovered this gem in the picturesque village of Thornton Le Dale quite by chance. Just looking for a light bite we opted for the Yorkshire tea which consisted of a sandwich, scone with jam and cream and a pot of loose leaf tea. The sandwiches where fresh , tastey and genouresley filled with a choice of white or granary bread and salad accompaniment. The scones where warm and fresh served with lashings of jam and cream. The tea was excellent and served three cups per pot. All this for £7.95 each was superb value for money.

We were passing through Thornton-Le-Dale and needed somewhere to have lunch. We decided to eat at Warrington House. The food was very very nice. I only had a jacket potato with Cheese & bacon and my son had a Brie, Bacon and Chorizo baguette. We both had a side salad which was fresh tasting and well presented. They had a huge selection of Cakes which were delicious. There was a choice of a 3 course meal but we just needed something to put us on so we opted for the snack. The service was quick and the staff were friendly. I would definitely recommend this tea room.

It never disappoints ! - the food is consistently delicious - home cooked food at its best. We've visited the Warrington quite a few times now, it's a spiffing little place if you're looking for a lunch that is hearty and home-cooked in style. Whenever we're motoring about near the moors we pop in to fuel-up. Excellent pies, casseroles, Wensleydale salads and suchlike, and top it off they serve good quality desserts as well. The owners and staff are always friendly and amenable, so I can recommend it to anyone who finds themselves at a loss for a decent lunch venue in the area and appreciates unpretentious cooking delivered with know-how and care and decent friendly service.Well done folks (and thanks for the extra gravy in the boat!).

Just the place to stop if you are looking for a well run, clean, friendly cafe/restaurant with a varied menu offering a sandwich to a variety of full meals. The mushroom soup was a triumph and ditto the ham sandwich, and I mean it was proper ham, thickly sliced, not the mamby pamby paper thin excuse for ham served up in many establishments masquerading as a sandwich filling!!The only thing I would change, Ditch the damp towel in the cloakroom, paper towels are so much more hygienic. But I shall be going back again.

We arrived late on the Friday due to my partner having to work away - the owners stayed up waiting for us to arrive until after midnight! They were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble! Our room was decorated lovely, spacious and had everything we needed - our bath was huge and much needed after our day of fun at go ape at dally forest! The real treat was breakfast lots to chose from although we opted for the full english both mornings - locally sourced produce and it was delicious! I would recommend this guest house to anyone! It would look like I’m beating a drum for this pub! But we keep going back because to be honest it is just such good value. Tried their two steaks for £20, choice of rump, sirloin or ribeye, we both went for sirloin, superb, cooked as we wanted, medium rare, salad, mushrooms, peas, onion rings, and a separate bowl of chips. You must try it! I also think you will find it harder to get a better pint of bitter, landlady told me lines are cleaned at the change of every barrel as well as normal cleaning.

"you enter as a stranger and leave as a friend" said the bar room sign which greeted this weary wanderer who'd taken a wrong turn. I ordered a pint and sure enough before it was pulled I was in conversation with a local man who thenintroduced me to the bar staff! The Sunday Roast was in full swing, the campers were in and out from the pub campsite and the occasional labrador was stealing hearts but nothing seemed to much trouble for the staff. This is a proper country pub, as warm and cosy as a storybook cottage and it's charm appeared to be working on a nearby American couple who's fantasies of an Olde English Country Pub had all just come true. I was on foot and was a few miles from the nearest town but lo and behold one of my new-found companions insisted on giving me a lift... As I exited the bar I glanced the "enter as a stranger and leave as a friend" sign again - this pub does what it says on the tin!

Absolutely loved this pub/restaurant. We sat outside with our dog at one of numerous tables and had a delicious Sunday lunch. So much flavour in the meat and the roast potatoes were the best. A bit pricey but worth it for the setting, the food, the service and the landlord brought out some steak pieces for the dogs to share. Amazing.
