There is a reason that this cafe isn’t rated very high on trip adviser, and it is because of the staff. Miserable doesn’t even cut it. No customer service and more importantly no smiling. We actually felt we were an inconvenience going into the cafe. I felt I should apologise for ordering. Should have gone to Maccy D’s. Also filthy sauce bottles, not been cleaned for several days

What bakery doesn't open until 9am. Having made our way through towcester traffic, we arrived at this establishment and walked in to be told we aren't open till 9. This was 8:15am. After speaking to various people about the quality of food it would have appeared that we have dodged a major bullet here.

We always support our local community shops and warrens being one of them. Love the pasties and even though the place was disorganised in staff we always would give it another try as the food was ok. Pleasant to sit outside when the summer was here but as we were disappointed with the amount of food displayed not long after lunch and new batches were not getting cooked we went elsewhere! Sorry one day we will try again next summer but hope you will continue to get organised clearing tables and still cooking in the afternoon when customers like to browse shops and have a cuppa and bite to eat instead of getting to hear early on no more cooking for foods. Good luck we are crossing our fingers it can live up to the other cafes in towcester as they are consistently better.

Had breakfast this morning and goodness. Bacon was so hard i was unable to cut. Cold beans cold hash brown raw tomato slices from a salad. Cheap sausage. Understaffed which was very obvious. And the coffee. OMG. Shocking coffee. Weak and watery. Most cafes get one chance to impress. This needs to up its game to have a chance of repeat business.

Cornish pasties are so so nice. Cakes are boring with a boring selection and overpriced. Jacket potatoes are a joke, over priced and tasteless, spoon full Luke warm beans on a soggy potato (microwaved I think) with a pathetic little salad on the side. Sorry Warren's but you need to up your game. Wish I went to mcdonalds and I hate mcdonalds.

Considering how much I have just had to pay for a ‘traditional pasty’ I can only use the word ‘disappointing’ as it would appear at first glance I was handed a vegan option, as the pasty was pretty much made up of just vegetables and I only found a small 1 inch cubed chunk of steak. The whole thing had a funny taste and was very oily, so most of it ended up in the bin. What a waste of time and money. Won’t be bothering to return. 👎🏼

i am a frequent visitor to this bakery and 9 times out of 10 when ive been in, there has been just 2 members of staff to run the whole place. Anyone with an ounce of common sense would know this is near on impossible. My personal opinion of said staff is they are polite, friendly and welcoming but run off their feet at busier times which means they have less time to dedicate to us customers however doesn't mean they are rude. They still find time to ask how your drink or food was. i understand all staff are on minimum wage and for what they have to do just to earn it is preposterous!!!

I’ve ordered take away and eaten in on a few occasions. Usually I am happy with the quality of food and service, but today was disappointing. The rolls were soggy and the salad in one was very wet and past its best. I took it back to exchange it and was met with a member of staff going on her break, she wouldn’t help but signalled to other staff in the kitchen to come and talk to me. Other people (not in uniform) then poked their heads out, looked at me and went back in the kitchen. Eventually a member of staff came out and replaced the roll but without a plate or any recognition of my complaint. Just felt like we were in the way and they couldn’t be bothered. A real shame.

We went for lunch on a Saturday, very keen to give it a try. Upon arrival, the place was pretty dirty. Crumbs and cups on most tables. We found a big table for the 4 of us and moved the dirty cups onto another table. We put a few bags on the chairs and went to order. Whilst ordering, a waitress that had been clearing some tables outside, came back in and dumped a tray of dirty cups on our table.... which she didn’t come back for and we had to move! I had a coronation chicken roll which was ok. I was surprised that sandwiches were not being made to order. The filling was nice but the bread was a bit dry, particularly around the edges. We shared some potato wedges that were dried out and warm, definitely not hot! We also ordered 2 cream doughnuts and were shocked to find that it was not real fresh cream, but that synthetic sweetened stuff.... absolutely disgusting. The service was poor, the staff just didn’t seem interested in helping customers or cleaning the dirty seating area. Definitely won’t be going back.

I enjoy an interesting filled roll and I had a couple of very soft rolls filled with delicious fillings. Then recently I had a very tough roll ( on one side ) felt almost stale. But I had used the Take Away service so it was too late to change it. It is an expensive lunch though. Not convinced prices have to be quite so high.

Made in Cornwall by their oldest bakery the pasties here are very good. Large will satisfy most appetites but if some one want to try a piece of yours go for the extra large and indulge yourself. Lucky to have a Proper Pasty shop so close to where we live, the waist line will suffer if I’m not careful.

We tried this cafe during our lunch break as we had heard it had great cornish pasties. Situated off the high street opposite the council offices. Very small and tightly packed cafe. The counter had a large amount savoury items and cakes of food but unfortunately none of them showed any dietary details so not great for anyone with an allergy unless you asked for each item you were interested in! I am fairly tall but I could barely see over the counter as on the counter it was also full of food items. The assistant had to come from behind the counter to serve as is she could not see what we were pointing to or hear what we were saying. The food was reasonably priced though My friend chose a cornish pastie, I chose a gourmet sausage roll and my other friend had the savoury tart. I went with the flow as I was not sure was in the gourmet sausage roll but I was sadly disappointed as it was mainly pastry with with slightly spicy sausage meat. My friend left most of her pastie as it was half empty. However, my other friend didn't mind the savoury tart. We also had potato wedges on the side, which were sitting behind the counter but they were lukewarm. Sadly the whole experience was only ok.

On my first visit to Towcester I found this new looking branch of Warren's Bakery. The service was prompt and the pasty and coffee I had were very enjoyable. Their toilet is nicely maintained. Nearby is an historic mound with interesting information boards.

We've tried all the shops in Towcester selling breakfast baps & this is the best. For £2.50 you get an enormous bap with 3 sausages! Great value & the tea comes in a huge mug with refils costing only £1. We'll be back.

Eggs overcooked. Bacon undercooked. Muffins harder than iron. And zero personality from the staff. With the exception of the guy on the till. The menus are plastic. Which I can only assume (appropriately so) is so they can be wiped clean. So how are they covered in food from the previous day. Tables are sticky. Rarely do I review like this. But the basics are missing.

We were looking forward to coffee here. But despite the cafe being advertised as open on Mondays, it was very shuttered up and very closed. Shame that the website didn’t mention that, as we were disappointed. Perfectly understandable in the current economic climate, but we would have preferred to know in advance.

Fabulous drinking hole, hidden off the Towcester main street. Great beers, lovely staff, excellent live music night and a really good pizza van outside. What more could you want?! Loved it and highly recommended.

Been in many times, since the new owners took over and pleased with the decoration, I haven't eaten here yet, but hear good reports, the big downer for me and most of my friends is that even though the landlord promised and advertises craft ales, on the website, beers like Tribute and London Pride are not craft ales! There is a massive choice of lagers etc, so why not support craft ale producers/brewers? I see many locals in pubs not too far away that have craft beers available, so the EA is losing custom IMHO, I'm happy supporting my local and the pub do the same with local brewers please.
