Warden Beefeater in Luton

We were seated to a very large group of loud children and adults. When asked to move to a quieter table we were told no. The table continued to be loud. A table behind us got up and moved to a new table in a separate bit because of the noise. I asked again to move and was told no as it they couldn’t justify losing money by only putting 2 people on a 4 person table. There was a total of 4, 2 seater tables available. 6 tables out of the whole restaurant were in use. I was told by the waiter that they had 120 guests booked in and couldn’t move us. Very disappointed.

Wee had a really relaxing quiet evening. Food was good had the Kit Kat desert can recommend. The colleague who served us was Darren. A very friendly guy. Very helpful & professional. Didn’t rush & check that everything was ok. I often meet friends here there’s plenty of party & all the staff are lovely

Great service, arrived 10-15minutes before kitchen shut, staff were very helpful and quick with getting our order in, in time and food and drink arriving in quick time, our waiter hannah R was very helpful, and went out of her wait to make sure we were happy with everything, will certaintly be revisting

Went for a spur of the moment Sunday dinner this evening . The restaurant was very busy and the girls worked so hard to keep everyone happy. Jo looked after us and we couldn’t fault her. Great service . I totally recommend the fish and chips. A beautifully cooked peice of fish with light, crisp batter.

Dont waste your money Service is appealing and the food not the best Waited ages for a drink and the bar closed at 9.30 - we were not informed of this when we booked the table

We booked breakfast at The Warden for the first time and were very pleased there was lots of choice and Wendy was super friendly and helpful.

Great food and good value. We come here regularly, for food and drinks. All good value and a good pint of Guinness and pub snacks, we will be back soon.

We ae regular visitors to the Waden Tavern and usually find it very cold in the bar and restaurant, however it was a lovely suprise to enter and be warm. The bar server greeted us as soon as we entered, he was attentive and gave us efficient and pleasant service. We have often found on previous visits that there was a shortage of staff at the bar. We had booked in advance and were taken to our table promptly when we arrived in the restaurant. Our table server was Darren. He was very pleasant and efficient. He ensured that we had our food and drinks promptly and kept checking throughout the meal to ensure that we had everything we needed. A big thank you to Darren. The Chef did pass through the restaurant and asked us how our meal had been. The food..... We ate from the lunch menu, and had 3 courses. We had starters of chicken goujons and they were tasty and well cooked. We asked Darren if we could change the sauce for a spicy one, and he ensured that we had it.... a nice little extra touch. I had the steak, and could not fault it. My Friends had Lasagna and Garlic bread with salad, they said that it was tasty and well cooked. The sweets were all tasty..........could be slightly bigger portions. Overall a much improved atmosphere and experience than on previous visits....well done, we will visit again.

I was here for my mums birthday on a chilled Wednesday and Darren is absolutely phenonemal. He has such a lovely, endearing, kind way about him. The right balance of humour and friendliness. He’s professional, quick, fun and deserves praise. Lizzy is also so friendly, professional and welcoming right from the minute we walked in. They’re a credit to this establishment.

Went for Sunday lunch. Darren our server was excellent throughout, attentive and witty. The chef also made an appearance to check how our food was, which was excellent. Roast beef cooked to perfection as we're the roast spuds. Food arrived promptly as did our drinks orders. Will definitely be back at the warden

Got steak meal from here. Frozen chips were not cooked, the salad on the side was completely wilted and the steak tasted like it had been boiled and then put in the pan. Even with a discount code this meal was over priced and tasted awful. I will never go back.

We recently visited The Warden for a birthday meal with the family. The staff were very friendly and food was great. Not only that but we even encountered the general manager Kyle and was greeted with a smile and he made us feel very welcome.

Average food good value for money, but HORRIBLE manager. Very hostile atmosphere, shouting at customers gossiping about my table complaints with staff. Every time we visit the Warden for a meal Kerry (manager) feels the need to rush us for the table back. This was our first time back for a month and this evening Kerry told us she needed the table back as someone had requested it. At this point my mum had enough and she challenged her to ask why we needed to leave the table as she does this every time we visit! Kerry then said she abused her! Walked away and shouted she does not get paid enough for this! Then came back and said ‘just to let you know this is your last time dining here’ VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE

She came over to say “just to let you know this will be the last time you’ll be dining here! Your band!” We said on what grounds? She walked off and said “ I don’t get paid enough for this abuse! Went here to get some vouchers for a birthday gift. Unfortunately they do not do vouchers. The atmosphere was dated and low lighting but what was really bad and hence this rating was the customer service of the staff member - very curr and rude once realised I did not want a table. Did not offer a solution but just went off to serve other seated customers. I have not eaten here but the car park is often fairly busy so food offerings must be of reasonable quality.

I went there for Christmas dinner and requested specifically months in advance for no mushrooms due to an extreme dislike and when I sat down to eat my meal on Christmas guess what was on the steak mushrooms and mushroom sauce even when I asked to have them remove Both the sauce and the mushrooms I got the dish back and it still had mushrooms in it just no mushrooms sauce ruined my Christmas dinner but the soup to start was nice

Going to the restaurant it's not bad for a beefeater but they won't have everything we tried to order starters but that was a waste of time no chicken no mushrooms etc and if eating in the bar area be prepared to wait for your food or be told to come back in 30 to order because they are not sure if they will be able to serve you if they took the order and said it would be 30 to 40 minutes it would be a better idea as we had sat down with drinks anyway

We stopped here as the traffic was bad and we had to divert from Luton airport due to hold ups on the M1 (standstill), we had just got back from Feuterventura. I had a steak Rob eye which was cooked to perfection and my wife had a chicken stack. We had 2 latte's each and the young lady that looked after us was very friendly and helpful.

We had a main meal at lunch and both enjoyed it. Fish and chips and half roast chicken. Very good portions. It can be a little bit pricey but we had vouchers so that made it very affordable.

A nice breakfast. There was only 1 person on front of house so they were mega busy. Not sure if that's sickness or Beefeater policy. However, once the order was taken, the food arrived promptly and was tasty. I recommend the black pudding and tomato. Particularly good. The unlimited coffee was also nice. I would probably stop here again if I'm busy in north Luton again.

Generally, it was a good experience let down by food that was extremely mediocre. Issues...ribs dry and tasteless, burger over cooked or over microwave...hard on the edges. Chips cold....wings awful...

Booked a table in advance. Put in a really noisy section when asked for a quiet table. Person who showed us to the table stood there waiting for us to choose the wine, not ideal. Ordered drinks and waited 20 minutes before they came. No sign of a waitress after 25 mins. The only time we saw of a waitress was returning full plates of food from disgruntled customers. We got up to leave and told the person in charge we had been waiting and the response was ‘oh’. No apology, we were just told they had a big party coming in and it was a Friday night at 5pm and staff handover , like that was a good reason no one served us. Won’t be rushing back. 40% off isn’t everything. Ended up at the Thai Baan barton and had a brilliant meal, great food and service.

Food was hot and delicious, my chicken was very tender and juicy not dry at all. Restaurant was kept clean and maintained, Helene our waitress was absolutely amazing she made us feel welcome as were not from the area and she had a lovely conversation with us and she has been there for years. Helene is a credit to your Company she clearly has a passion for customer service and nothing you ask of her is too much!

The Young guy that brought our food to us on wed 1st Nov was excellent .shame we didnt get his name ..but very polite friendly and helpful ...a credit to Beefeater ..

Booked a table for 8.30 thinking that’s the time we would be there, we actually finished what we were doing early so got there about 19.45 to see if we could get an earlier table. We walked in and stood at the host point for a good 5 minutes before anyone even came over to us. When someone did eventually come we were told that even though we had a booking we would have to eat in the bar as she didn’t want to keep the waitress on any longer than she needed. I’m sorry but I think this is appalling to tell a guest that you basically just want to save money on having a waitress working. Firstly why do you not turn off your booking system if you actually don’t want to take late tables and secondly why are you not staffed to accommodate your opening hours ?. I’m an assistant manger in a Mitchell and butler brand and I can honestly say we would never say anything like that to a guest. This isn’t the first time I’ve had a bad experience here either but stupidly have gave it a few chances as you are so local to me.

Our server Hannah was very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. Excellent experience all round.

Ok for a breakfast bit chaotic every thing kept running out but we're soon replenished when the 2 servers were told on a busy Saturday morning.

Their food menu had very limited choices, and the meals were well over priced. Mixed grill or a beef lasagna nearly £20 in our local pub/Restaurant its under £10

Typical Beefeater Still OK, standard Beefeater menu which has quite a few choices. We were early, at lunchtime, so not too many in, but still, food seemed to take a time to come out and deserts longer, by which time they were quite busy. Took some time to attract someone to get the bill. Overall experience OK, food acceptable although not quite as good quality as I remembered- both kids meals overcooked Burger and a kids steak. Reasonable value but could have been better.

Really had a great meal here today, was seated promptly and was given plenty of time to choose, the waitress was very good, and couldn't of been any more helpful., really was quite surprised as driven past a few times and never thought it looked that nice. But pleasantly surprised Goes to show don't judge on the outside, so go and check it out.

As a frequent diner here we booked a table for Thursday night but we were not happy about a number of issues. Firstly, whilst our table was not quite ready so we ordered drinks in the bar. Then despite being told when it was ready, we could take our time as it was ours for the rest of the night, when we went through, we were told that the table was given to someone who hadn't booked, so in the end we were sat by the door, where tbh we seemed to be out of sight so out of sound, service wise, which proved to be the case. When challenged about how long we had to wait for our food, we found the curt reply, "well I'm not the chef" to be rude and unprofessional, added to swearing by staff behind the bar, not very customer focused is it! To compound the matter, I had to twice ask for the bill to be amended as we were being overcharged!!!! Finally, when I considered complaining to the manager, she was no where to be seen 🤷🏻‍♂️....looks like we'll be frequenting other restaurants in future!!!!
