The Round Bush in Luton

Went for a pre ordered Halloween Party dinner. The food was meant to be served at 5:30 and I got my dinner at 7. The staff is rude and horrible, at one point I was told by the staff that she only had 2 hands to carry food so I should wait. Please avoid this horrid place at all cost.

I was in The Round Bush last night and was so lovely to see all the young children enjoying the Halloween entertainment that had been put on at no cost to parents and the effort that Sam and her daughter put in decorating the pub was lovely ..it’s a lovely local pub that is always welcoming and the staff and service are always amazing..!!

Went in on 19/05 for a sunday roast, when walking in we noticed 3 women at the bar chatting away without even noticing us coming in, we sat down and then we went to order… we asked for 2 orange juices… the lady asked if its fresh orange juice we’re wanting to which we said yes, and then we saw her pouring the orange juice from a carton (hardly fresh), then while still standing there we proceeded to ask for 2 sunday roasts…. to which the lady was super surprised and said they don’t serve roasts anymore, then another lady explained that they are in the process of changing the menus…. but didnt offer anything else instead?! I would be there all day guessing what is available and what is not, and then asked me (THE CLIENT!) if they are still on the menu??? unbeliavable! What I was ordering I have found on the menu at the table, and have found the same menu online before our arrival so I was very confused and very disappointed, no information anywhere that this is the case. We then walked to our table to get our stuff and decided to leave, to which one of the ladies have followed us to the table and asked if we’re taking the drinks from the bar?? to which we said no, and then I showed her the menu, and she just looked at it, and then we left. Not a sorry not even a word… very disappointed with the staff and the attitude, especially the eye rolling… definitely not a place I would recommend to anybody and wouldnt visit again. Nasty attitude, never in my life have I experienced something like this. Unwelcoming and the ladies were very unapproachable, not even trying to look friendly. *****EDIT****** If thats what your staff is saying then you should really question their honesty!! I am sure you have CCTV, so you - the owner, can see for yourself… I have not returned since, and I experienced everything I mentioned in my review above, and now seeing how dishonest your staff is, I am 100% sure I never will be!

I've been a regular at The Round Bush for a year, and it's always been my go-to spot for a relaxing pint or a delicious meal. I came in for a DJ night it was a lovely atmosphere with no issues whatsoever. I also had some dinner here which was lovely too.

we came to this event with our ice cream bike and the atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. The owners are so friendly and did really well to put on a lovely community fun day event. They had a BBQ and the food was really tasty. Staff had such good energy. Would recommend coming down to visit this pub if your looking for somewhere to spend a couple of hours.

Nice clean pub. We had lunch special. Sandwich and soft drink £7.99. Asked for lime and soda as a drink. Got charged extra and when I queried it. Staff said. Lime and soda not on the list of drinks. Only coke .Lemonade.water.J2O. I thought really. So I had just paid for drinks. Asked staff for my free drink also. It was coke and flat as a pancake. Staff said I was rude as I should have read the menu. Found out afterwards he was assistant manager. Oh my goodness. He really needs training. A lovely pub and lunch was nice but we won't go there again due to one member of staff.

Lived in Bushmead for 13 years now and can honestly say Martin & Luke are the best most welcoming Landlords for me Service is always great , Great Beer and now they’ve changed the menu , the Food is lovely , ( The Chicken Combo is a must ) Glad we’ve finally got a decent local pub with good people who are making a good go of it Highly recommend

So disappointing. Long queue for a drink as only one person serving. The only beer on special offer seemed to have run out. Problems matching the glasses to the correct beers (we might not have noticed only the barman pointed it out to us!). Vodka optic was either faulty or needed changing as my drink was free poured. Obvious issues with the food as customers were up and down to the bar querying where their order was - and some food was brought out to us even though we hadn't ordered (we were considering it but after the long wait for the drinks decided against it). There seemed to be an issue with the barman and the chef as the barman was in and out of the kitchen and we could see their faces through the window set into the kitchen door - they were definitely "having words"! Chef not wearing a headcovering. Toilet floors (ladies) covered in dust with hairballs in the corner of the cubicles and the public area - not exactly dirty but definitely hadn't been vacuumed in some time. Such as shame as we stopped visiting this pub earlier this year as the bar service was so poor but thought we'd give it another go last night - nothing appears to have changed. Could be so much better and is in desperate need of more dynamic/experience staff (and more of them, not just one!).

We had 2 of the “must try” bacon and cheese burgers. Well it was one of the worst burger Ive ever had. Buns was dry as an angle grinder cutting disc the whole burger was just a waste of time and money. On top the fries should have stayed in the oil for another minute or two as was soggy as an octopus legs….i was stupid enough to ask for some mayonnaise…. I thing they fund some empty container mayo somewhere and they served it but it was so sour as a pickle egg.

It’s gonna be 0 star if I can! Must try burger is must not! Size like mc Donald’s burgers (not a big Mac) bacon wasn’t cooked properly! Tasteless burger and fries wasn’t ready when they take it out from the oil! I wish I check reviews before go there!

We went to my sisters birthday party here The buffet was very good. It’s a good size for about 60 or 70 people.

Booked 10 people for Sunday lunch. On arrival told we should have confirmed booking. This was mentioned several times. Very few other customers in having lunch. 3 of our Meals came out nearly an hour after ordering. 20 minutes later another 4 meals and 20 after that another 3. Food not very hot and had to complain that we couldn’t even cut some of the vegetables because they were so hard. Made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome and food very poor. Would definitely not recommend.

I had my 18th birthday party here at the end of December last year. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming and I had an amazing night. It was the perfect venue for hosting a party with family and friends. An area was reserved for us, which was a great space for people to enjoy the buffet and socialise. I was able to play a playlist from my spotify account, having my own music made the night even more special. I want to thank The Round Bush team for making my 18th the best birthday ever!

Sunday roast, always enjoyable. Nice to just stroll over, have dinner and not have to clear up afterwards.

This is our local being only a 10 minute walk from home and we are there often. Decided to pop in for new years eve drink (just a couple) but after arriving and receiving the best service I have ever had in a pub from Ozzy we decided to spend the whole evening. Oz could not have been more accommodating and even, proactively, went out to tables to offer table service when the bar was quiet, what a great idea, he must have drummed up so much more business, deserves a 10/10. Thanks for a great evening, look forward to our next visit.

Visited 21/12/23 with a few friends. We chose the Round Bush over the beefeater for a change. It wasn't that busy for a Thursday. Went to order some food, three dinners to be exact. The chef came out of the kitchen and shouted at the woman serving us saying he's told her not to put food through because it's over an hour wait because a massive table of 6 came in. Yes SIX people. Really? She refunded our money for the food we ordered but we thought it was so unprofessional of the chef. Won't be returning if they can't host more than 6 people for food. Shame because it's convenient and a nice pub..

Good pub with friendly staff and reasonable prices

A large group of friends enjoyed a buffet which was very reasonably priced. It was very tasty and the staff were very friendly and efficient. We certainly didn’t expect dessert to be in the price but the chocolate brownie was amazing. We had mince pies which were nice, I prefer them warm. Really no complaints, there was music playing but we could still hear each other as we chatted. Thank you to Martin and his staff.

Just back from an evening with friends and we had the Christmas buffet, lots of food, garlic bread, mozzarella sticks, Brie bites, chips, garlic mushrooms, the prawn cocktail on lettuce cups was wonderful , so delicious. Then chocolate brownies and mince pies. Service was brilliant food excellent, would highly recommend.

Recently renovated - traditional style Pub / Restaurant. Tasty pub food at affordable prices. Very welcoming atmosphere, nice clientele. And dog-friendly! Loved it.

Prebooked Sunday lunch for was supposed to be 14 but ended up being 11 people. Were asked to give indication as to what we were eating which was fine and we did. We then proceeded to be served two at a time for over an hour … why ?? Lunch was ok … nothing to write home about

Lovely pub with a friendly family atmosphere, a very welcoming staff and professional friendly service, I live nearby that was our first time but certainly we will be regulars, I haven't rated the food because I haven't tried it yet but I will today or tomorrow.

The food could do with improving from frozen to fresh cook . You can taste the difference. I would be happy to pay a bit more if freshly cooked, also add a few more meals as not much of a choice.

Decided to walk here for a drink on a lovely warm evening. Sat outside for a few drinks. Lovely relaxed time.

We came in here out of the rain. There was a friendly welcome. Staff were helpful, beer was good. We watched football and someone was setting up a disco. So all in all a busy sociable pub amid the shops.

Just had the 2 for 1 pizza’s deal….pepperoni pizza was very tasty…better than the main stream pizza companies seriously!!! Speedy service also

A curry and a pint for £12.50, can’t complain! Good portion sizes and you get 2 side dishes to. Food was hot and tasty, a good bit of pub grub. And friendly service.

Quite a nice local pub, but can be a bit manic at times resulting in a very long wait at the bar.

Veggie roast came with what I think was a slice of beetroot in pastry, possibly fresh cauli, and probably frozen mixed diced vegs, loads of potatoes, decent size yorkshire and one fits all gravy. It was okay but I think they could do much better with some small changes such as clear meal description, use fresh veg, serve actual veggie gravy and better ratio of potatoes to vegetables. Meal was hot, service friendly.

The Round Bush accommodated 30 of our family members for our parents wedding anniversary. We all ate off the main menu, we had a vast range of food and all enjoyed what was made. As there was so many of us we didn't get it all at once but it all came faster than expected and they didn't falter on standard/presentation. The staff were very friendly and professional and managed our party well. Communication between the staff and our party ensured they knew what they were doing and we got exactly what we ordered. A massive thank you to the front of house staff and kitchen staff for hosting us today.

Lovely time had by all. Great to see our local back up and running. We enjoyed our pizzas and cocktails. We will be back...

We decided to visit, as this is local to us and were hoping to find a good place to visit on a regular basis. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. Environment- was good, clean and friendly staff. Lights were quite bright and music could hardly be heard, but that is being super picky. Service - waitress delivered our food to the wrong table, despite us having a table number. So we waited for an hour before asking what was going on. The manager apologised, did give us free drinks and explained that the waitress was new. Food- really poor quality. I ordered a chicken burger - this consisted of a grilled chicken breast in a bun with a bit of salad, but it was burnt to a crisp. It was so tough and just tasted of charcoal. I did not return it as we had already been waiting for over and hour for our food. My husband ordered fish and chips - the fish was over cooked and was clearly a frozen fish cooked in the oven. Given that there is a fish and chip shop next door, serving fresh fish - seems odd to serve frozen fish for much higher price. My daughter ordered the pizza - which was lovely, she really enjoyed it. So, overall, some positives - the environment and the fact that the manager apologised for the mix up and long wait, but negatives were mostly the poor food, particularly as they had already messed up our order, I would have hoped they would have taken a bit more care. I was so hoping for more from this place. Perhaps will try it again when the staff are more settled as it is under new management.

Had the most horrible experience in the round Bush today. Ordered a starter and main. They brought the starter out with the mains... then when I asked why have you done that.. I got a reply of why not. You have to say if you want the starter out first.... I DID!!! then they just put it all down in front of us anyway. Which then we found our mains where stone cold. I then asked for a full refund on mains as they looked horrible and also where stone cold. To which then a older gentleman ( the chef) came stomping over to our table and rudely asked me why we don't want the mains. I replied with ... there cold and look horrible he said I can warm them up in the microwave. And that's why I want my money back he then murmured something under he's breath and walked away... no apology and no money back I still had to go ask for it back before we left. Do not recommend this place at all. Was vile.

Well place looked good from the outside and then when I walked it was still a good atmosphere but confused where go grab menu or no staff to really give much information. Eventually I grabbed a menu which it looked like was some reserved table and ordered some food. After an hour a simple Mac and cheese arrived with an apology for the delay but no discount or free drink was given... And food was pretty soggy. Probably good for drinks and chips

Excellent experience- friendly staff, quick service, good value- would highly recommend popping in! (2-4-1 pizzas on Wednesdays you can’t go wrong for a mid week evening out!)

Saturday night is busy. Good atmosphere. Seems to be aimed at all age groups. Food looks good. Not over priced. The landlord has done a good job. Will come back.

A nicely busy Saturday night in our newly opened pub. Food was ok ,whilst the owners find there feet ( saved me cooking). Lovely shiraz and decent ales for my husband.

Love what the new landlord done with new modern decor. Really friendly and welcoming to all my family including the children. Well worth a visit.

Reopened under new management just over a week ago. Never went to the previous versions, but would say that the beer selection is local and some great options. Food is basic but reasonably priced. Friendly locals and staff. Over the moon that a nice pub has opened so close. Will definitely make it a regular trip.

Good proper pub with good home cooked food and nice people

JustEat Collection Order: Absolutely brilliant all round. Great value, quick turnaround and the food was well presented and tasted lush. Friendly staff who even threw in some chips alongside my delicious Steak & Cheese Ciabatta. Highly recommended.

Bit of a delay in writing this, But myself and the family visited The Bird and Bush before they was closed, The staff were really friendly and the food was priced well for a local pub. I will be visiting them again once they open :)

Mac and cheese was cold no garlic bread with it then ordered Thai fish cakes and chips and a chicken pie and chips which we didn't get charged for but instead of the 2 Thai fish cakes and sweet chilli sauce we had 1 burnt fish cake and no sauce. Worst meal we've ever had in this pub or any other.

Eaten out at different pubs in Luton fkrvtge last 5 nights. This was by far the best yet.

New owners are making a positive change. Very welcoming and great music, DJs on Friday nights. Usually go to the Warden Tavern but this is my joint local now 2019 update - scrap the above, new owners are not welcoming at all, place stinks of attitude everytime I've been. Only go bcos it's open bit later than the Tavern.

We went for lunch on Sunday but there were no roasts available. So we chose off the menu and were very disappointed with what we were served.

Food was inedible, served up by a stroppy manager whose only excuse was that she was trying to cook steak at the same time as doing my meal, a 45 mins wait for chilli hot dogs..that looked like a dog's dinner!!

Went to watch the football, loads of screens. Food was very cheap - pub basic food rack of ribs and chips which I enjoyed. They kept the kitchen open as we were late. Walking distance from home, has a pool table - job done, will go again.

Well all I can say is I've not been in there for over 15 year's n it still looks the same apart from the new TVs. Unfortunately saw some people snorting in the toilet. But that happens. Most estate pubs. Would I go back yes. As warm friendly atmosphere.

Last time I went was about 7 years ago bit clicky then went for the first time last week since then but not my cup of tea too much of an estate pub roudy young ones in there being fair the land lord and lady seemed really nice hope they make a go of it but when I go to a pub I want a nice atmosphere not fffffing and blinding all around with young ones getting silly thinking their gangsters

Went a few weeks ago and the chips were half frozen with our meals. Appreciate the effort from new owners as lovely atmosphere but need a new chef... also the barmaids need to keep an eye on the line for the bar. Having people push in front of you and being served is rather frustrating :)

Had a roast dinner... Flat cold, fatty meat, rock hard roasties, small portions, took ages to come. Clearly reheated food. Urgh was awful. Left a review on Facebook and the best the owner could say is that they had 'had good reviews all day'. Won't be returning.

Great time with friends and family. We had fun drinks were cold and wet and the bouncy castle was terrific!

New owners as of August 2018, new food menu is limited at the moment but extremely well executed, and is a bargain for the price! New landlord seems to be making a real effort to turn the pub into the successful local it should be.

Very good service. Friendly staff. Nice range of drinks. Good seating areas. Pool table and dart board inside. There is an out door seating area for the summer months as well as a covered smoking area.
