A lovely little tearoom we stopped at for a late breakfast when travelling between Newcastle and Scotland. Two ladies running it were lovely and kept the place spotless. Had a sausage (Cumberland style) and egg roll - lovely. Daughter had a fruit scone and after trying a bit I regretted my choice. Nice hot pot of tea and served oat milk for my wife. One of the locals gave us a quick history lesson of the place. Will definitely stop again when doing a similar trip.

I worked in the best sandwich bar in Cheltenham, and this was the best bacon butty I ever ate. The bacon was a beautiful local natural cure, and nearly as thick as a pub gammon. Egg was local, perfectly done, and the bun was fresh. Worth the tiny detour from the hadrian's wall path.

:) Tappa obbligata! Lovely stopping off point after a long walk. First class food- both the evening meal and the breakfast. Lots of little extra touches that made the stay perfect including a place to leave soggy boots to dry off so they were nice and toastie the next morning. Welcoming host who made this solo female walker feel safe and welcome. Highly recommended.

We had a lovely coffee and panini here. Staff were really friendly. The food was great - as was the coffee. There isn't a massive amount of seating but it was stylish and welcoming. They don't take card payments, but there's 3 cash machines close by and they do accept bank transfers (they have free WiFi so you don't need to rely on patchy signal). Would definitely recommend.
