This is a wonderful pub, hidden on a backstreet, off the beaten path, but it is well worth your time. We found it while wandering around Stowmarket and spent a lovely afternoon sampling the craft beers and chatting with the regulars. The couple who run (and their dog) it are extremely friendly and welcoming, and they know their beers (the couple, not the dog). I told them what sort of beer I like, and they recommended several types I had never heard of and they were amazing. Highly recommended.

I am sorry if this is a duplicate! I just love this place I took my staff for a New Years treat and it did not dissapoint. I had one veggi with me who is a superb cook and she vas bowled over by the choice. I will be back. There were few diners but because of the layout it did not feel empty. One of my party left some papers there I got a phone call within 20 mins and they were safely collected.

Staying in Stowmarket visiting friends, just popped into this pub. Happy to have dogs and the paddle of 3 tasting glasses are perfect to sample the variety of quality ales and ciders sold. Lovely friendly staff and punters. Wish we lived closer!

Still the best pub in town by a mile. No football or sport idiots. No loud music. Just great drink and mix of people. A nicer class of drinker. Monday nights pub quiz is a great mix of mums and dads and family’s.

What a lovely nice little pub now. Amazing. And I mean amazing selection of drinks. Friendly staff. No loud music. No sport. Just people. Chatting and having a drink. You can walk in. Take a seat. And. Not feel like your going to be made to feel uneasy due to the Normal idiot that can frequent a pub. The pub quiz was super busy and the other drinkers are of a nicer age group and stature. You must give it a try.

Ok those who read my reviews know that I am a food person. But traditional English pubs are my favourite places in England and as a French person I'm always ready to try new ones. Monday evening, French Conversation night, we end at The Walnut Tree. I love this place. It might only be my second visit but it's getting better and better. What is the most important thing in a pub, apart from the beer, and believe me the selection here is good? Bar staff! When they are friendly and welcome you so well as if you were the most important person in the place, it's just lovely! The bar area is spotless, it smells clean and I like the fact that it's not trying to sell you anything else apart from, "come and enjoy a good drink in a proper English pub!". The choice of beers is interesting and they are well looked after and good. Worth a visit.

Spent a fine evening in the company of friends sampling the huge range or beers on offer. Its what pubs should be, a place to come and talk and try some fine ales.

I went out with my husband for a breakfast treat today, we ordered a traditional and a large breakfast. We originally parked ourselves on a table but when a better table came free we moved over and advised the staff who said that was fine. Our breakfasts we discovered were delivered to the original table leaving us to wait an incredibly long time once the staff had noticed for our breakfasts to eventually arrive. When they did arrive the order was incorrect for one of the breakfasts, we were told that a new breakfast would be ordered, however again much later the additional bits not a new breakfast arrived. On asking to speak to the duty manager we were able to explain the catastrophe and she agreed and were given a refund without prompting and 2 fresh breakfasts were delivered. Phew what an ordeal, will be a while before I return here sadly but at least they did try to resolve the issue the best they could.

Great little pub in the heart of Stowmarket that's well worth tracking down. We were amazed at the incredible value for money for top quality homemade pub food. One local was raving about the homemade curry. Another recommended the homemade lasagne. The curry was indeed delicious. Our food was spot on and unbelievably well priced. The staff were super friendly and attentive. These kinds of family run pubs are real gems and should be at the heart of any community. We stumbled upon it when visiting friends. We'll definitely call in again next time we're in town.

Basically a house converted in to a pub. Warm beer and stinks of grease and stale cigarettes! Didn't stay long enough for food.

The owner of this place does not have a clue about running a business which includes giving polite, courteous customer service because she has none of these skills! Off hand, flippant and down right rude are skills she is good at. The staff they employ are inexperienced, ignorant and lacking any customer skills also. Asked if they could serve a flat white coffee they responded, “never heard of it” and when we asked what beer they had the waitress said one in a bottle with a red label and one with a blue label. Unbelievable! Overpriced and the food is very mediocre, we cook better and tastier at home. Never go again and would never recommend. Tip for owner, go on a management course to help your inexperienced staff and while there learn some customer service skills.

Why anyone would choose to call a cafe Tickety Boo is beyond me but the food is good and you don't eat the name! Very strange and off-putting style where they take your money before you eat - which meant we didn't order any cake after our meal as we couldn't be bothered to queue and pay all over again. None of the diners I've seen in here look like the type that would run off without paying! Despite this the food really was excellent and I will be back for more.
