Awesome shopping, nice staff, dry-cleaning, John Lewis pick, and foreign currency order collection. Great real ale selection too.

Good place for fresh milk , fresh vegetables, fruits , chicken , fish . We visit mostly for food .

Local supermarket for me. Too expensive for my weekly shop, but pop in for coffee with friends and tend to do a little shop afterward.

It is a very cold shop. The olive 🫒 oil from the shelves is frozen in the bottles. This is happening in Waitrose of Oxford Road, Reading. If you go to the shop, make sure you have good coats, a hat and the rest. Keep warm. 🥶

Always great service and products always good

Unfortunately the inconsistency of the restaurant opening hours means I go there much less now. There is an obvious staff shortage although, when served, the food is generally good and interesting - not only 'run of the mill'. Food is usually advertised yet not served, you are just 'directed' to the 'no hot food today' notice. This is the best way to lose custom. 🥺

It's a Waitrose meaning quality abounds and a favourite place to do a shop. Sadly meat and fish counters were unmanned here on my visit, not the first time either whereas I've come across this issue at other branches in the south-east.

Was ok, although just past 1930hrs the other night I tried to purchase something from the deli counter,not anything that required cutting or weighing, I asked to buy items,was told I couldn't as deli counter was closed,bit petty in my eyes as I'd travelled 6miles. Other than that my previous experiences have been top notch

Nice store, it's Waitrose. Plenty of parking, well stocked. Electric car charging available.

A scam business. Never get my complete order for delivery. And after more than three days , they still haven’t processed my refund.

Shame the hot food counter is gone

Needed airport transfer service in Reading then best service and mobile and website booking easy quote and good service call or book online 24/7 service and help desk at hand.

Continue to have happy Waitrose superstore shopping experience in my 6th year at Purley after being to Twyford for 5 years.

This has got to be one of the best stores in Reading, friendly and helpfully experienced staff, and great consumer choice and great prices.

Had all I wanted to buy but, quite expensive and the shop was very cold!

All that you can want in the way of food and drink with plenty of parking and a coffee shop. As always a good selection of fresh vegetables, bakery goods, and meat. There's a click and collect desk for John Lewis purchases and a good self scan system- you do have to have a My Waitrose card to use it. There are now electric vehicle charging points in the carpark. July 24 Still as good and busy as ever, new things for Summer, when it actually arrives.

Visited Waitrose on the 19th of January and was surprised to see Easter chocolates already gracing the shelves, a full 79 days before the holiday and merely 25 days after Christmas. While I admire Waitrose for its high-quality offerings and commendable customer service, this early display seems out of step with the cherished pacing of seasonal traditions. It is the respect for these traditions that often cements customer loyalty, and such premature promotion might not sit well with those of us who appreciate the natural unfolding of the festive calendar.

Well laid out store with wide range of quality products, helpful staff and plenty of parking.

Wow, the first time (April 2024) I have been into a Waitrose in over a year, maybe two, and I am shocked that the products are virtually *identical* to what's in my local Sainsbury's, Tesco, and Morrisons, only 10% or more higher in price! No product differentiation whatsoever! The same old stuff, the same brands, the same product lines. OMG Waitrose used to be niche, with special product lines for the discerning shopper etc. etc. Now it's just another damn supermarket, only more expensive. I thought it was the jewel in the fading John Lewis crown! How wrong. If you work for JL, you need to get out now and find another job, because they are heading for bankruptcy. So sad.

Good parking, a well laid out and well stocked store. Everywhere was clean and tidy. A good selection of quality products. Competitive prices on several products

Like every other supermarket 🛒 prices have gone up. But still top quality and you know what you are getting for your money.

Shelves in a number of areas still feel a bit empty with some limited selections. Biggest issue right now is the date range of many products where you may only get 2-3 days before the used by date.

Lovely Waitrose store,we were able to find everything we needed at ease.The store is super easy to navigate and clean.They stock so many amazing things.I’m glad that they’ve got shell recharge hyper-chargers now.They also have a lovely plant display outside too.

We ordered 2 English breakfast and was greeted with “we don’t do that”so looked at the menu and asked for 2 traditional breakfasts, which the lady understood, after over 17 minutes the breakfasts arrived in a large bowl/plate and was absolutely swimming in liquid, we where unsure if this was water or oil or something else. We left hungry and disappointed.

Pleasant supermarket Don't recommend the ham & cheese toasties 🙁

Waited 40 mins for a veg breakfast, the toast is barely toasted, the halloumi isn't even cooked as are the tomatoes, when it finally arrives they haven't even cooked any mushrooms and I have had to send it back. Incredibly disappointed. A relaxing brekky has become a frustrating experience.

This store has got to be one of their worst ones. The cafe stopped serving food hot food at 1:30, leaving a lot of elderly people without their lunch, it shuts at 2.30! One of the toilets was broken, they're always filthy and there's no soap. The soap dispensers haven't been working for years. It's always freezing cold in this store, even in the cafe - very unpleasant. The shelves are half empty, constantly. I would not recommend it at all.

Ordered a vegan Christmas Turkey and a gammon joint from the Christmas range to pick up just before Christmas. They had the order and the vegan Turkey but they didn’t have the gammon joint. We ordered it weeks before online and was for our Christmas dinner. They just said ‘sorry we don’t have any in stock’.

One of the nicest Waitrose stores (although they are all good) staff are polite and shelves are always stocked.

Well I got everything I wanted and I know, ,(I hope), that it's all top quality stuff. PS helpful and friendly staff.

Lovely select of food. Nice to treat yourself every few weeks with a waitrose shop.

Only one issue - recently bought some glasses from the household area. Got to checkout and asked if there was something I could wrap them in. To be told no. If you are selling fragile objects probably a good idea to have something for customers to protect them with.

Went to cafe food was nice shop is actually quite small but it is good enough.

Nice store,but wasn't very clear where the eating cutlery was and didn't seem like they had sets of eating cutlery. Like they didn't have a pack of forks, knives and spoons in a pack. Other than that staff were friendly and helpful when I asked for help finding the cutlery.

I don't like the general ambience of this particular store. It always seems an unfriendly environment, run for the benefit of the staff. By comparison, my local Tesco is a much happier environment to shop and eat at.

Nice shop, but typically high prices as Waitrose always have.

It’s a fab experience including the coffee shop. The only thing that spoils it for me is that the grass and shrubs that border the store are no longer tidy. They once were nice and neat. Untidy, uncut areas encourage litter and detract from the brand image. John, Tilehurst

Good selection as you would expect

FALSE ADVERTISING & TASTELESS The bowl contains boiled rice with a few lumps of scrambled egg, neither have ever seen the shadow of a wok or frying pan - NOT fried in any way. It is simply plain boiled rice, and although there are some petits poir here and there (small green beans) - I had serious difficulties to find any remains of spring onion and ginger. Absolutely tasteless...

Large aisles, fresh sushi available, good variety and quality. There are some items that definitely worth buying at Waitrose and this store is great.

Our Christmas order was completely wrong and made up with substitutes. No notice given and we found out only upon collection. Things go wrong I get that but how it's dealt with is the thing you remember. A big thank you to Julie the manager who did her very best to put things right in the Reading store. You should be proud of her and in your training Christmas is back on for my 92 year old mother x

Never had a bad experience at Waitrose. Staff are friendly and approachable.Great to be able to click and collect here for items ordered at John Lewis.

We had a quick coffee and snack from the Waitrose cafe.. Pleasantly surprised to see something like that was there ..👍

You can find most things you need in waitrose and all good quality and fairly priced

I love this shop. The staff are great and they have a lot of good products that are hard to find elsewhere, like vanilla flavoured soya milk, which I love!

Better quality products than many other supermarkets.

Not my usual shopping experience, but thought I'd give it a try and yes a bit more expensive on some items but more relaxing and less busy than a lot of competitors, but some stock not available or very low, will certainly use again, when in the area.

It's been quite a long time since I visited my local Waitrose and, as always, it was a very lovely and most enjoyable experience. The store is spotlessly clean and all the staff are very kind, helpful, attentive and visible! Bravo Waitrose!

Shocking customer service in the self check out area, instructed to use a terminal with no area for basket or bag. Absolutely zero customer care shown. Was made to feel very uncomfortable and chose to leave rather than complete the transaction. Proceeded to Tesco and received a superior customer experience.

Shopping there was the worst experience of my life. We have been humiliated by the staff there. It was our last time shopping at Waitrose.

Although it is a bit far away from the centre, the store is always clean and full of items so anytime we arrive can purchase everything. Help is available throughout the store and easy to get in and out. Sometimes there's a queue but usually moves quickly.

It's Waitrose. This location is no better or worse than any other that I've been to. Expect to pay significantly more for the same items you can get at other supermarkets. The produce and shopping experience is better than average supermarkets and as usual, I'm fairly sure I was the only customer in the building under 65.

This is a big Waitrose with all items you would expect. A big parking lot outside.

The place where quality meets pricing. Nicely layout with lots of options for all departments and probably the only store in the UK where fruits have taste.

I'm used to shopping in supermarkets like Morrisons, Sainsburys or Asda so when I completed my weekly shop here buying pretty much the same sort of items I was last for words when it came in around £30 more expensive. My normal shop costs around £70 but this came in at just over £100! I have decided from this one shop that I will not be returning unless all other supermarkets throughout the UK suddenly close down!

Nice and big shop, but with empty shelves

The shop is perfectly fine.. the cafe tho, well, somehow despite being based in a supermarket is always missing ingredients, isn’t open, isnt doing hot food.. of the 8-9 times we’ve been here there is always some excuse for the cafe not really being a cafe - pretty poor.

A lovely store, a little bit out of the main town centre with good parking. Well lit, not too cold, a good number of checkout tills. I didn't see a self service till though; is this something that can be implemented if there isn't one?

A lovely member of staff called Susan went out of her way to find a particular cake we were looking for and kept it for us to collect. Their customer service is excellent!

Clean and tidy, usual good range of products. Good for vegans

Expensive as all Waitrose are but you can't beat the quality of the fresh produces, particularly fruits and vegetables. That's obviously compared to the other supermarket chains, not specialised grocers. The store itself is bright and clean, feels spacious and is nicely laid out. I've never had problems parking nor has the place ever felt crowded but then I usually shop either fairly early in the morning or early evening, around 8pm. All in all, one of the better supermarket shopping experiences but it comes at a price.

Great store. Good range and lots of self service tills.

Cold cappuccinos, poached egg very runny and undercooked and it had to be changed. Speed of service is a joke. We will not return. This is not what we would expect from Waitrose. On the plus side if there is any the staff were polite.

The deli section has much to be desired. Very poor selection compared to other Waitrose stores
