Always find Waitrose in Wolverhampton a very pleasant shop.The store is spacious and well laid out and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Love the cafe too!

As I long time frequenter of Waitrose it is with great disdain that I admit to myself that the customer service in this store is beyond dreadful. The total lack of urgency of all staff would be laughable were it not for the fact for the need to pay before leaving; counters are rarely manned, staffed checkouts are few and far between and the whole experience is one of complete frustration. It is no wonder at peak times when Waitrose is near empty that other neighbouring supermarkets are heaving.

Offering a rather different menu from my local Waitrose, I was very pleased to see a Jacket potato with chargrilled vegetables. However, it took three attempts to actually bring to my table the meal I had ordered, which I wouldn't have minded if it had been any good. Unless they were pureed there wasn't a chargrilled vegetable in sight, it was a mushy sauce dominated by tomato with a few small olives (the best bit) and some cubes of feta. The potato was hard, so I fed myself from my oatcakes (Waitrose) in my bag and put some of the sauce on them, as I was really hungry. What a shame. The staff were nice though and apologetic about the wrong meals brought to me initially, and I really didn't like to complain, as it was probably not their fault that the recipe for the option was not really up to scratch.

I visited here for a late lunch with my elderly mother. The restaurant wasn't busy and at 2.30pm, nowhere near closing time. However, there weren't many choices left and the food display was disappointingly sparse and lacklustre. The staff weren't friendly and decidedly unhelpful. There were lots of dirty tables but plenty of staff on who could have cleared them! When we left an hour later, the same tables had still not been cleared. The food and drinks were adequate but nothing outstanding. Sandwiches were simply plonked on a plate and I had to ask for my drinks as they'd forgotten them. They hadn't forgotten to charge for them though! I didn't rate my experience at the cafe and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I find this very sad as the rest of the store is amazing! Come on Waitrose, sort out this disappointing side of your store!

Until Sunday last to my knowledge it is the only cafe where you can not get a slice of toast or a toasted tea cake The toaster has been out of order thro various reasons for at least 6 weeks Why can’t Waitrose put things right a company of their calibre should be able to provide a better service

The store is spacious, it is well stocked with hard to find products in other supermarkets, however everything is so overpriced. You may say quality, but sorry very overpriced for most of its products. Meat and poultry I would never buy at these prices. I only shop in there for bargains and unusual products.

Shame on you Waitrose used to have a great experience when shopping and visiting the cafe but how things have changed and not for the better 😔 Poor service , barista style coffee you promised with the new changes ! hell what nothing changed there still the same service ( in fact worse )and coffees. Rock hard bacon on the bacon sandwich ( staff aren’t interested about that issue )and the “ offer “ is just a complete rip off but hey ho you would be lucky to get a half price decent sandwich in the first place as told only Off that shelf -where there was a choice of wait for it two egg sandwiches ! Choice I think not !!! So sad to see what has happened here from how it used to be ,puts me off using the store now

Member of staff knealt in front of counter recounting full volume her son’s holiday woes. Half price offer with a drink is so much worse than previous offer of buy a snack and get a free drink. Which was so much worse than the previous offer of a free drink. Then to top it all, none of those half price sandwiches or Victoria sponge was available. The decor is tatty and the promise of full barista service promised in May has not happened. A poor show, I expect better from Waitrose. This cafe used to be a clean, efficient and proud place. Now it looks worse than your average Adsa cafe where food is more varied and half the price.

It is a good place to shop, I'm not keen on all the veg being packaged so much. They have a good variety of choice and I usually manage to get a nice meal together from what they have.

I shop at Waitrose Wolverhampton most days, high quality produce, nice helpful staff on the shop floor, but oh my ! what has happened to their (once was) lovely cafe. Always used to have soup and a nice bread roll served by attentative staff, Not anymore! Stood with another customer waiting for a good 5 minutes for someone to appear no apology when they did. The soup no longer comes with a bread roll, now it's a slice of bread costing £1..nice soup should come with a nice bread roll not a slice of bread!! That's the last time we will use the cafe we will go elsewhere .

I have shopped here since the store opened and have always loved it. The store is well laid out with an excellent range of products and the customer facing staff always offer excellent customer service. Until a couple of years ago the management team was highly visible and welcoming and engaged with customers. This has now changed. Managers are rarely visible and avoid customer contact. Feedback is given lip service only. The cafe used to be a place where locals met for traditional breakfast fare and then went on to do their shopping in store. As the menu was reduced and the staffing became more and more limited and slow people moved on. You can see lots of them in Sainsbury's any morning! Feedback to HO was ignored and store managers just looked annoyed when issues were raised. This week a new menu has been introduced. Cooked breakfasts are back (good) but toast is from sourdough bread (we all hate this). I feel so sorry for the frustrated front line staff dealing with customer annoyance. Come on Head Office. Get a grip!!

Quick lunch toasted sandwich brilliant - nice atmosphere maybe took a little too long for the order to arrive (lunch from work) but otherwise fine

Spacious aisles, clean & tidy, diverse selection of products, friendly and helpful staff. Handy location and plenty of free parking plus a coffee shop that lets you use your Waitrose card and get discount on food and drinks. Just wish they sold ladies clothing.

Well rang them today to check if they had a particular wine in because the had their 25% off offer on. Nigel had a quick look but could not see it and asked for my number and he would check and ring me back. He did and had found 5 bottles which he kept for me he also informe me that he would be about when I arrive and that there should have been a delivery this morning and lunch time but it had not arrived on which there was this particular wine I wanted. I asked a member of staff for him and the security man came to see me to inform me he was on his lunch and would be around 10mins. So we went for a coffee @ which a member of staff called me and it was Nigel. I also forgot to get my free paper and went to customer services who spoke to the manager who sorted out my free paper. What very very very helpful staff. Praise where praise is due.xxxxx

Handy for a few bits but overpriced. Has a cafe for beverages and snacks but does not do breakfasts or main meals like other supermarkets.

Friendly staff and good selections. The homeware section and wines are particularly good. There is also an excellent selection of organic and high end toiletries

I just popped in for some ready made sandwiches, for the size of the store the choice wasn't great. I used the self serve checkout and as this was my first visit to Waitrose was not familiar with the machine. Luckily the assistant was close by and after helping twice I was able to make my exit.

Absolutely fantastic valentine meal offer. Chose Proseco, Crab starter, Steak Main with wedges and vegetables plus St Clements posset. All fabulous and would have cost more than twice as much if eaten out with very little cooking ( only steak and wedges) Would fully recommend this item

A wonderful place to stock up on the finer necessities in life - Maldon salt, smoked bacon and, of course, every sauce, spice, pickle and paste imaginable. Face to face with such gastronomic opulence one almost forgets for a moment how close one is to Wolverhampton.

I have been a regular at Waitrose cafe now for four years. We continue to visit as Dad is in a care home nearby and Waitrose is a convenient location to take him and he enjoys mooching around the store. The coffee is excellent and we take advantage of free drinks with our Waitrose cards. However, I have seen a real decline in standards over the years. I have lost count of how many times the coffee machine has been out of order this year. The cakes are poorly displayed and uncovered, right next to the queue of people where they are regularly coughed and sneezed on. Unlike other reviewers, I always find the staff to be friendly, but I'm afraid the service is very poor. Dirty tables, no clean cutlery or milk jugs, very long, slow queues. I have raised these concerns in store but they are never addressed.

Very poor management. Limited food choice now. Also expected to sit in the cold as air conditioning still on in october.

We used to go to Waitrose quite a lot and would have lunch afterwards. We found the cafe pleasant with a good range of sandwiches, cakes, hot soup, bacon rolls etc.

The pot of tea and slice of Victoria sponge cake was perfect. Staff were very professional and the cafe was very clean.

Popped into Waitrose for coffee and sandwich today and the food and coffee was very good but the staff - why do they look so fed up? We tried to have a word with the waitress but she just dumped the food on our table and walked off not even enquiring which order was for who! Honestly you expect a bit better from Waitrose.
