Terrible service, very slow to be served in spite of the fact there was lots of staff chatting etc. Returned soup because it was cold. No apology and 10 minutes to reheat it!

Friends and I met at the wine bar to meet another friend from the train. We had the most loveliest lunch which commenced with a lovely warm greeting. The grazing platter was excellent along with the overall service, which was truly a stand out in todays times. Well done Waitrose on your wine bar and having the perfect person deliver a wonderful all round experience, Julia was an absolute gem and we girls thought she was brilliant.

I've had coffee many times in other Waitrose cafes so was very surprised to be asked to pay an extra 30p for cream with my Americano. Luckily I don't take sugar. That might be the next charge. Not what I would expect from Waitrose.

My mother and I are locals and shop here regularly but today was my first experience of the delicious platters and attentive service in the wine bar. Julia is a real asset and made us feel very welcome. Certainly made the post lunch food shop more enjoyable! Will be back for more. Well done Waitrose!

We arrived early at Hayward’s Heath station and had to wait for a lift so we went to the wine bar inside the supermarket. What a great experience! Super friendly staff, a little bowl of crisps with your drink, and a range of wines, beers and soft drinks. It also does snack platters. I left the fam relaxing and went off to pick up some snacks from the supermarket itself, so convenient! Didn’t try the cafe itself - the wine bar is at the end of the drinks aisle. We loved it!

Just awful when they advertise breakfast rolls but have no rolls but have them in store. A sandwich consists of two slices of dry bread on a plate no butter, and the filling, i.e., bacon on the side in my book, a sandwich is made up. The reason for no rolls is because of additives! Perhaps the staff do not know how to make a sandwich! Not recommended very poor service for what the cost is staff can't understand why customers are taking food back!

First of all, I need to say we did not eat in the cafe but in the downstairs tapas bar. We arrived yesterday en route to Sheffield Park, to go on the Flying Scotsman. We had no idea that Waitrose would have somewhere for lunch, and such a good lunch. Julia served us and she was amazing! The food and service were excellent, as well as the wine. I cannot recommend this eatery enough.

We stayed in Hayward Heath for our son holiday activities. We usually skip breakfast but this cafe offer a good enough set breakfast for our brunch desire. Very well made full English breakfast and good coffee. Good avocados toast and other pastry, too. Comfortable environment and never crowded. Best found around the neighborhood for a few days.

Visited the cafeteria today, I am afraid that the cafeteria appears to be going downhill fast, my wife ordered a cheese toasty to be told that there was none left, she then ordered welsh rarebit what a disappointment when it arrived the topping was supposed to be on sourdough bread but hers was on the thinist cut bread available. The spouts of the teapots were disgusting god knows when they were last cleaned. It also seems that the cafe has been taken over by people using it as an office with their laptops and papers spread all over the table all of them where there before we arrived and were still there when we left. There was also a business meeting of 5 men probably from the building site adjacent to the station with their papers all over the table, the way things are going at this branch it seems you would be better off renting out office space than providing meals. I will say that the front of house staff are excellent

Popped in for a quick lunch during my friend's lunch break. There was only one sandwich left on the cafe shelf, so we decided to try some of the options from the notice board. My friend ordered the chicken and pesto toasty. I asked for a jacket potato with cheese and beans but the lady said no. I mentioned I had just heard the gentleman next to me order the same thing without difficulty, but she said they couldn't do it. So I asked what the soup was - they didn't have any. I asked for a chicken and pesto toasty - they'd given last one to my friend. OK, a ham and cheese toasty then - no, sold out. At this point I asked what did they have?! And she said they could do me a jacket potato after all! So we paid and sat down (outside as inside was full or tables not clear). My friend got her toasty quickly. After 35 minutes of waiting for potato I went and enquired - it had never been put through to the kitchen. They offered to do it now but we needed to go as my friend's lunch break was ending. They refunded me (with difficulty as only certain staff seemed to know how). The young girl that refunded me was kind enough to offer to make me toast and jam for free to go so I wouldn't go hungry. The whole visit was a bit of a shambles, I did appreciate the toast but would've just preferred to get what I'd ordered.

Came here at 2.45pm and was told the cafe closes at 3pm. Surely 3pm is the busiest time for this cafe with all the mums picking up their kids, seems ridiculous. Staff were OK but mentioned that we could have a coffee but things were closing so we couldn't hang around too long. It seemed to me as if the staff were peed off about something, I dont blame them, probably being asked to cover for staff shortages. Not what you would expect from John Lewis Partnership

Burger took twice as long to arrive as I was advised, so I missed my train. I had 25 minutes before my train, so nipped into the cafe for lunch. Was told when ordering a burger would take 10 mins, as would a toastie, so chose the burger. However it took much longer than that to arrive and I ended up missing my train because I didn’t want to be too rude and walk out as they were putting it together. Nice burger in the end, but not worth it.

We recently arranged to meet some friends at the wine bar for a drink and bite to eat before attending a comedy night at Clair Hall, Haywards Heath. My partner and I had previously visited the wine bar for a drink, enjoyed the ambiance and had seen other parties enjoying the sharing platters. We had been told that the wine bar gets quite busy when functions are taking place at Clair Hall therefore following advice, booked a table for our party of 6. The event was not taking place until 8pm and we booked a table for 6.45pm. Upon arrival we purchased some drinks and sat at the table. The wine bar was clearly busy, but I would not describe it as bursting or at full capacity. After 10 minutes or so I then went to the bar and ordered three sharing platters for our party. I was told by the Waitrose team member that some elements of the platter may not be available, however trusted her to make suitable substitutions leaving the order in her capable hands. From our table we had full sight of the bar, appreciated that people were placing drinks order and therefore tried to remain patient. After 30 minutes had past I returned to the bar to enquire with the team member whom I had placed the order how long our food would be, only to find that nothing was even in the initial stages of being prepared! The bar was less busy by this time and looking at the two members of staff at the bar it quickly became apparent that we had simply been forgotten! I shared my frustrations with the team member in a polite manner who did apologise and said that she could prepare something. I obviously informed her that that was what I imagined was going to happen when I initially placed the order however disappointingly we now had to leave so that we would not be late for the show. After a busy day at work for all of us, we were now going to a show that was over two hours long having eaten very little! Whilst I appreciate that it is not the sort of establishment to provide dedicated table service, I would question whether the wine bar is correctly staffed in order to provide drinks and food when events are taking place in the local area? It's location is also next to a very busy train station, this has not fully been taken into consideration. Not the usual service that you expect from Waitrose!

The Hayward's Heath Waitrose Wine Bar is located inside the recently opened store.I found the staff friendly and there's a good ambience despite it being an in-store venue. You can buy wine by the glass or, what's better value, is that the wine bar sells selected wines by the bottle at close to store prices and charges corkage. We had a good quality bottle of Pinot Grigio which worked out at less than £20.You can also get food and snacks which are nice quality, many being similar to those foods sold inside the store such as olives and breads. You can also get meat and vegetable platters some of which are packaged with a glass of wine. I had a vegetable platter which came with fresh bread and was delicious as well as good value. I normally stay clear of in-store restaurants/bars but this one is much better than most - I really liked it.

Went shopping as the shop opened only to top up and decided to have coffee in the restaurant. Now you cant have a free coffee in the restaurant but you get a free Bircher musili or cake loaf or an almond Croissant. The coffee has now been upgraded to arabica beans which is a smoother blend. You can still get a free coffee in the shop but you cant take it to the restaurant. Staff are excellent and with a coffee and a cake still worth the early morning visit.

I had bacon, & avocado on sour dough bread toast. The bread was too hard to cut, let alone chew. The bacon was dry, & as tough as anything. The avocado was unbelievable. Truly disgusting. I find shopping here is a pleasant experience, great welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. The shop is welled laid out and the aisle are clean, clear and wide. The cafe in the new Haywards Heath store is in some ways typical - the food is the standard offering, giving decent food at reasonable prices (especially if you qualify for the free hot drink). Unusually it's licensed, so you can get a single serving bottle of red or white wine with your meal - but the prices weren't displayed. Visiting mid-Sunday afternoon, the sandwiches had already been removed to be sold on the main shop floor at reduced prices, but they still had plenty of cakes.

I used to visit here every other morning for breakfast but recently decided i'd have cereal at work mainly due to the fact I just haven't got the patience for this place. I can stand there for 5 minutes waiting for someone to serve me, then they go as slow as possible. I order toast or Porridge. 9 times out of 10, they forget sauces and I have to wait 10+ minutes....for toast..... they clearly don't know how to run a café. The same goes for afternoon services. The little cutlery tray is horrid, just give people a tray with folded tissue knifes and forks. Stop trying to be clever

Its new clean and bright. Ordering took time. Could have had free coffee if i had a Waitrose Card. ( ones on order ) Portion size seemed small. Had the large breakfast. 1 egg.2 small but very meaty sausages, some beans, 3 semi dry mushrooms, and small hash brown and toms. 3 very thin sliced streaky bacon strips. Was all VERY tasty. Coffee ( Latte ) was nice too. Tabled wobbled a lot so ended up with coffee in the saucer. Price was a bit steep i thought. just under £20 for two large breakfasts and 2 latte coffees. For a once in a while visit would be fine. The store also offers a Wine Bar, so will try that at some point.

Not worth the money, I wanted to treat myself as I was working a very long day, ordered my favourite Chai tea latte, and an almond croissant. There were some people in front of me, and 4 people behind the counter, it was about 1/2 before closing time Sunday afternoon. I went an waited for my tea and had the croissant, two people were obviously cleaning and tidying up, only actually preparing the orders, which one was apparently a very big order of cold drinks. I thought I would enjoy the croissant while I waited, it turned out to be utterly dry and not nice and no almond filling inside. I had two mouthful and put it in the bin, I waited for my tea and waited for my, there were still only one person making the orders, so I left with a very bad taste of not being serviced, as there was still 4 people behind the counter, but not 4 people service the customers. Priorities looked very off.

The food here is delicious and it’s amazing to find so many vegan options that also taste lovely. The Bronuts are inspired! Worth a visit alone. The kitchen opening times are a bit hit and miss which can be frustrating. The staff are very friendly. The decor is pleasant although the music can be too loud and distracting. The only change that could make it better would be if it opened all day especially at weekends.

I'd never visited before. I despise Tim whatever his name is for backing the UK ruining Brexit, and I assumed everyone in any Wetherspoons would be of his viewpoint so I've stayed away. However, I realise that was stupid, and actually I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Service was very fast. Drinks are ridiculously cheap. Two pints and a coke for the same price as a pint almost in Brighton. People who were eating looked happy enough with their food, again, cheap. And the best thing of all was that it was full of people enjoying themselves, where as most pubs are empty. I'll be going back. Easy to reserve a table, spaciously laid out, bar staff were stressed but polite, toilets were clean, place was clean. Nothing to complain about really.
