Wahaca Brighton in Brighton and Hove

A lovely surprise when visiting Brighton to find Wahaca restaurant. We we seated quickly (even though it was a Saturday) and as it was early lunchtime the waitress spent time explaining the menu as we had no idea what to order. The gluten free option was also varied. The food was so delicious and will certainly recommend.

The tacos were great! Very fresh and the atmosphere relaxed.

They have a really lovely vegan food option. Trying the nutritional meals with Mexican cuisine is memorable, and the ambience and decor add to your special memory.

The staff were so kind and friendly! Very quick service even with the meal being cooked fresh. Enjoyable experience.

We visited Wahaka Brighton for a birthday meal. The food was very good and plenty. The alcohol free cocktails were amazing. The service was exceptional good, with the waitress going through all the food options before we ordered, recommending different options. The food was served for all at the same time. The waited even agreed to bring out our birthday cake at the end of the meal. And the price was reasonable. 5 stars

Needed some dinner and we decided on Wahaca. The food was nice, staff were always smiling and helpful. Service charge was added by default We had had a large beef burrito, there was more wrap than beef, the burrito was nice and should have asked for an extra portion of beef. Grilled 'Halloumi Al Pastor' was good, but eat it when it comes out hot or it taste rubbery Ancho mushrooms were also good Drinks options, they have what you want and able to make anything off the menu within reason

Went for my partner birthday 27th December and the service was amazing, welcoming environment and staff were friendly and efficient with taking the order for drinks and food to follow. Order food and came within 15 mins freshly made and hot! I ordered Classic margarita 2 Buttermilk chicken taco w pickled red cabbage and in house made spicy mayo 2 Beef Gringa The freshest Guacamole ever w chilli oil And steamed tenderstem broccoli with all sorts of fresh spices and herbs the fennel went amazing! With the broccoli Amount of flavour that hit my mouth every bite was heaven, freshest food your gonna get for a mexican! 10/10

As a mexican living in Brighton, I love to come here frequently to have a taste of Mexico! 🇲🇽 Loved the quesadillas, the Cochinita pibill tacos, and obviously the guacamole 🥑!!! My children also enjoyed, and ate very well 🥰 We will be back soon!

Decided to visit Wahaca on the recommendation of a friend. What a great choice! Best Mexican food outside Mexico and the Marmalade Mezcalita is the best cocktail ever!!! All our servers were fantastic, especially Fran who was impeccable. Can't wait to come back for another visit

Superb experience from start to finish, served by Fran who was super and attentive throughout! Checked in several times, food and drinks came out quickly and food was very tasty.

Our server was a chap from Spain he was fantastic, so engaging with us on the menu, what to have and very inclusive of the children. Will definitely be back.

Our family have been enjoying Wahaca for a few years now. It's our first choice. The food is always wonderful. The staff are lovely. The prices are fine. What's not to like :) Just perfect. We also had a family member with allergies and the staff involved were impressive.

Everything was perfect, the food was AMAZING, the staff were lovely, and the atmosphere was brilliant and immersive. One slight note was that the tacos come in sets of two, despite not listing this on the menu. Despite this little tidbit everything was as good as it possibly could have been, brilliant experience, 10/10. Would recommend

Venue refuses cash, forcing you to use tracked digital card payments, no cash alternative option offered. As someone who valued my privacy, I won’t entertain eating here any longer.

Food was amazing our waiter was so nice as well. Unfortunately they don’t allow dogs inside so we had to sit outside which was cold as the heaters weren’t working but it was definitely worth it. Will go there again soon. It would be better if they’d played their lovely music outside as well.

Great food and lovely service. Fran is effortlessly charming and attentive without being overbearing. We had the mix vegan platter and every dish was better than the previous one, and the vegan Sunday was sublime. Can't wait to come back!

I was truly happy with what I ordered. The chicken & avocado taco, the pork taco, and the gringo taco. Also the chips and guac and the salsa trio were all delicious. The service was exemplary. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. You should probably make a reservation. They are usually pretty busy. And worth it!

Chicken over cooked, potatoes far too salty... but worse was the wait for one person's meal, after twice chasing the order it hadn't appeared by the time 2 of us had finished the meal. This was a special event, pre booked, totally ruined, in our opinion, by incredibly bad service and poor food

Wahaca was an amazing experience and the food was soooo good and the vibes of the restaurant are so cute as well. We had Calvin as our waiter and he was so nice as well and gave us amazing service.

The food was amazing the service was outstanding, I didn’t like the drink I had and they changed it for me, they are very friendly. I also had an allergy and they were able to accommodate. I deff recommend coming here. Our server was very nice, he kept coming to make sure everything was okay and made the service really fast. His name was Calvin, thank you Calvin you were great. We will deff be coming back here!

We tried the festive menu and it was excellent. Highly recommend it. Both tasty and good sized portions. We also had a vegetarian who had the veggie menu and said it was very tasty too.

I went on a busy Saturday evening without a reservation and just managed to the window high table. My server, Calvin, was very polite and welcoming. I got the beetroot tostada, sweet potato bravas and the buttermilk chicken tacos, all very flavoursome. Although I did wait a very long time for the taco's to arrive but they do make it clear that everything comes out separately, which I do find a bit strange in general.

The sheer atmosphere and quality of the food here makes you forget is is even a chain. Recommend the chicken + avocado tacos. Beware of the cinnamon on the hotchata.

i was brought here for my birthday. the staff was amazing and very helpful and kind, our server george was wonderful in making it a great birthday experience. the food was incredible and drinks were delicious (super strong!)

i ordered this as delivery, i had high expectations as reviews were high and i was a little dissapointed first of all by the portion size and second by the price, if you dont have a discount code you will be spending 30 pound on two burritos, they tasted decent but very padded by rice, the meat was tasty but i wish for little more black beans, overall i would order from tortilla as the price is similar if not lower and the servings are bigger, also the tortilla chips had no seasoning or nothing, i am not an 80 year old white woman, please add seasoning or even salt.

Ordered this on deliveroo. Took an hour and a half to arrive. The food was ok, but honestly I can't believe how small the portions were. The burrito was half the size you'd expect (smaller than my hand) and I paid £15 for it. The sweet potato starter was also ridiculously small. I feel like i've been conned

The food was delicious and beautifully presented! I just wished there was a restaurant in my town!! If I come back to Brighton, I'll definitely repeat!

We were a large group and had a more than unpleasant experience at the restaurant. The food was mediocre and barely warm, portions were tiny and completely overpriced. When it came to paying the bill, our server was rude and told us to figure out by ourselves how much we had to pay. He got annoyed that we were a big group and that we payed separately, which took up a lot of time for him. But to be honest, he wasted the most time by not knowing how to handle the paying device. It took him 10 minutes per person to find the right paying amount. In the end he told us a large sum of money was missing but after checking again it suddenly added up. Very weird. If you‘re a big group I don‘t recommend you coming here, because you might experience similar problems.

Staff are great, food and cocktails were delicious. We went with two rowdy 7yr olds but it didn't feel like we were causing trouble. In fact it was the perfect atmosphere for a family

The atmosphere and the service is amazing. Food is really good also. Our order delayed a bit and the chef came to apologist and serve us a free delicious salad while we waited. Then they offered us free dessert, we couldn't take that since we were in a bit of a rush , instead we were given a 20% discount. Couldn't fault them, highly recommend it.

Service was excellent, the chicken tortilla small plate was lacking in flavour and texture of chicken was not that great . Food was 3.5/4 service and atmosphere very good

Went in trying to get a table, nobody spoke to me or even acknowledged us. Multiple people walked past including a manager.

I don't always take time to write reviews but this place really deserves to be shouted about. Short version - this was the BEST Mexican food, with the loveliest staff and brilliant atmosphere! We loved everything about our experience and we will be back! Longer version if you want to know more! We visited on halloween night and there was a life size, traditionally made papier mache 'Mexican Day of the Dead' couple sat at the table as you walk in! The decor, staff and atmosphere if this place is instantly fun and welcoming. I had booked as it was next to Brighton's Theatre Royal and we had tickets for an evening show. We were greeted warmly by the proprieter (at least I think he was) who even remembered my name from booking! Both he and our waitress were attentive and helpful with recommendations and answering our questions about thd menu. We are vegetarian and were blown away by thd choice. I would recommend the small plates and choosing 3 each if you're hungry. The ancho mushroom taco were absolutely the best thing ever. My husband had to order a second plate of these when we should have had dessert. This comes as quesidilla and in a burrito so we will have to go back! I'm not a great cocktail fan but was bowled along by the atmosphere and tried the blackberry mojito- Zingy delicious - highly recommend this!! Service was so quick and efficient, we managed cocktails, many small plates, a sharing special and churros (divine) all in an hour and a half - perfect timing for us to get to our show! We were quite greedy as we'd skipped lunch - you could dine here and be more than satisfied with less!! Wahaca - thank you so much - We loved everything about our experience and we will be back!

Me and my gf visited here on the evening 05/10/24. It was our anniversary and our server, Sophie, did everything possible to make our evening as amazing as it could be. This is a bit of a delayed review, but just wanted to give our thanks to Sophie for making our evening a special one :)

I usually love Wahaca and always get the same dishes. Slapping flavour, amazing textures and just simply delicious! However today I ordered the same dishes as I always do but they were different. I asked if they had changed the way they are cooked - they said 'They have been elevated'. More dishes came out that I usually love and again so very different, the Chorizo Quesadilla was more like slop slow cooked meat. Soggy, overly salty and not what it usually is. The Mexican nachos are usually the best ever, today very greasy, no cheese and very hard, different plates, and I was like where is the chorizo! When asked if I enjoyed the meal I said 'not really sadly as the dishes are different to normal.' I was told nothing was different and it was me who was wrong and that I had the problem! Hold on 20 mins ago I was told they'd been 'elevated' so clearly different! Why ask if everything was ok if you don't like an honest response. No apology, no offer to remove the uneaten dishes from the bill, nothing at all just a rude response and the manager telling me I was wrong! Brilliant! Sadly Wahaca I do not salute you!

The food was divine although the portions are a bit small. Lovely service from the waiter who served me, we even had a comfortable conversation at one point which is rare because I have social anxiety and tend to be awkward in these situations. He even gave me a free latte at the end of my meal as I had stayed for a while which is always a nice touch, unfortunately don’t remember the name of the waiter in question but will definitely be going back to find out so I can give him full credit!

We had a great time on Saturday before the theatre. Really busy night, all food was delivered quickly. Hayden os a credit to the restaurant... very friendly and made our night! There was a rude customer outside and management handled the situation very well. Overall a great experience, thanks to all!
