Wah Hung in Birmingham

Least I have ever enjoyed a Chinese. The portions are very small however I suppose that is reflected in the price as it’s cheap for a Chinese takeaway. The ‘chicken wings’ were the smallest I have ever had, they must’ve have been from freshly hatched chicks. The curry did not taste anything like a Chinese curry. Wasn’t inedible however I won’t be ordering from here again.

Unfortunately this takeaway as gone down hill over the last few years, they are saving money by cutting down on the meat they add in there dishes, the chunks of meat are extremely small,l would recommend anyone in the area to look at the other Chinese takeaway in the area where you can guarantee much more meat for your money it's sad to have to right this review

Food takes forever to arrive & they have the audacity to charge £4 delivery fee!

Waited 40 mins, girl apologiesd for long wait. Ordered sweet n sour chicken and fried rice. Chicken was like rubber, rice was stuck together, tasted terrible, Luke warm. Don't know what's happened lately but won't use anymore

Our delivery arrived within 20 minutes. The driver was polite and thanked me for the order with a smile. The food was piping hot ( actually too hot to eat) and full of flavour. We ordered mixed meat curry, fried rice , both large portion, Singapore chow mein and a portion of mushrooms. We don't usually finish all of the food, but we cleared the lot tonight. Absolutely delicious.

Delivery took over 1 hour and very disappointing- chicken chowmein was ok but the special chowmein was not enjoyed. Ordered crispy shredded beef which was vile and ordered fried rice and curry sauce but received chips and curry sauce - wouldn’t mind but double checked the order. Won’t be using again.

I've used this takeaway for about 40 years when the grandparents ran it same quality of food

Been coming here Since around 2014 When I lived up the area was told not to go here, but when I tried it, I loved it Unfortunately, I moved away in 2019 I don’t live too far from the place But it’s a good 30 minute walk or 2 buses away And the prices have gone up a little bit, but that’s to be expected with cost-of-living crisis However, I order from here every few months it’s very similar to what it used to be it’s not really changed which is good. Please do not let yourself or your kids eat out of hear I saw one of the workers taking drugs with a needle crack heads

I waited nearly an hour for my food while they brought delivery orders out one are he other, it was only when I said I was cancelling my order and wanted a refund that my food came out within 15mins. if you want my advice don't bother with this place!!

The owner and staff are friendly and the food is delicious. I have moved away from the local area but when I visit I still eat here as I can not find anywhere else that does delicious food like here.

1hr 45 min for delivery. Curry was watery. Chicken chowmein had no chicken, chicken wings were miniature.

I only eat from this Chinese, My food comes hot and fresh and smells delicious. The price Is reasonable due to the food your receiving. I love it here.

Order wrong for the second time in two weeks,curries all juice and sloppy rice missing,lids not on correct won’t be using them again

I've used the Wah Hung at Weoley Castle for years and over time, the quality of food has reduced and prices have risen. I've stuck with it though, but tonight the meal was appalling. I ordered Singapore fried rice and chicken kung po. It was way too salty. The Kung Po was nothing like I could resemble as Kung Po - full of bottled chilli sauce and salt. The rice lacked its punch and was salty and bland. It all went in the bin.

Gave them a really large order of £100 tonight for a birthday gathering at my moms for her and my moms birthday. ordering was straight forward The food was absolutely lovely, delivery was quick considering the large order, it all came quickly and hot . Thank you x

Delivery perfect and on time and customer service was good. Food when arrived was awful, chicken was overcooked and ribs undercooked. The egg fried rice was eatible the rest of the food was thrown away.

We have been using this place for years, its one of the better places we have found, but the 1 star is for service. We ordered chicken curry with no onions, . my husband doesnt like them, and i cant eat them. Rice and chips. Got home, and it was with onions. Called shop who agreed to replace the order, 40 minute round trip to exchange and a wait whilst order was made. . However, they refused to replace the full order, just the curry. You cant reheat rice, and the chips had gone cold. Luckily i had some microwave rice, and threw the chips away. 11.25 for the inconvenience and half the order was no good. Same happened again, they denied it this time, said i hadnt asked, but we have the recording of the conversation on dashcam. My husband had gone out, i dont drive. So was given the option of delivery, but even though it was their fault, i would have to pay deluvery charge. And there would be a wait as they were busy. Again they were only replacing the curry. Chips and rice by this point were no good. So i asked for a refund. I would only get a refund on the curry as the rice was correct. They thought a bowl of rice was an acceptable meal so wouldnt refund! A joke. We have been using this place as a family since i was a child. Im now 44. Shame really, as i say, 1 of the better places for food. But total disregard for customers when THEY get the order wrong. They did agree to a full refund in the end, after a lot of discussion, but I havent been able to get there. Needless to say, i will cut my losses and just not go back.

Online order placed and texts suggested a slight 15 minute delay before in store pick up, clearly a busy evening as once there wait was a further 30+ minutes. Some additional text/conversation about the wait would have been appreciated. Will still use this takeaway again.

Absolutely shocking. 30 minutes late for delivery which at the time of year and under the circumstances is absolutely fine BUT the food arrived stone cold. It has literally been sat on their counter for who knows how long... breeding bacteria and then delivered to us so that we can pay the £2 delivery for the pleasure of microwaving our food. Don't cook your food till your driver is ready to go and when I call to ask where my food is dont tell me its on the counter waiting for a driver only to deliver it 30 minutes later... On top of that the portion sizes are like ww2 rations. Go to Iceland and microwave your own portions because at least there the staff are pleasant and you don't simon patronising you trying to defend himself and his shoddy food. To top it all off, the owner will abuse the fact he has your contact details the next morning. Blocked his number, in process of reporting him.

Ordered my usual from here this evening. Fabulous & really hit the spot. You pay a bit more than other places but the quality is a lot higher than other places on the square. Been visiting here for over 30 years

Absolutely would never order from there again! Staff was rude, meal was not cooked properly, the chicken was pink and the meal was cold. I also found a hair in the chow mein, disgusting! I phoned to complain they was rude and insisted the meal was ok when it left the shop, really? They didn’t even apologise! They would not replace the meal, which I wouldn’t of had it even if it was free! Not even a refund was offered. I asked them to come and look at the food but they refused also. Then they put the phone down on me. Needs a good health check! I will never use this Chinese again!

The food I ordered was bland and the portion size was not worth the price. I do not recommend this take away.

first chinese restaurant i went into after moving into the area. On the menu had something i wasnt familiar with so i asked the receptionist to call the chef just to ask as i didnt see the description of what it was. He was rude to his receptionist because she didnt no and showed me where the description was on the menu was. He was rude and eneded up in me saying im going somewhere else. He put me off the food as he kept saying if i go china town, the duck and meat you see hanging on the window is what the thing was i didnt no on the menu. No customer service and the poor receptionist was young. Nasty and vile he was. I didnt even get to order as his attitude alone stunk probably more than the food anyway. He gets no stars for his nasty behaviour and poor customer service.

Owner rude arguing back when i took back to return microwaved inedible chips and he told me they disintegrate within 10 mins like your hair (i am a black woman with weave!!!!) KMT

Ordered a beef curry, rice, chips, curry sauce and a bag of crackers. £20.70!!. How can they justify over 20 quid for that?. Used these for years but at these prices I won't be using again!!

Live just round the corner from here, thought Id go for a quick bite....from that experience I think the whoever is pricing the menu and doing portions need to be checked. 1.90 for a small square box of egg fried rice and a small portion of chips for 1.60....get the hell out. It would've been justified if the food was up to the quality of the pricing..but it tasted the same as the past 10 other Chinese restaurants who charge the same for bigger or at least decent portions .

Great Chinese, been using them for years. The curry sauce is the best I've tasted. Every time I've ordered from a different Chinese I've been disappointed because it's never as good as Wah Hung.

waited 40 minutes to collect when told it would be ready in 10 so in all including travelling time took over an hour. When we returned home we found the chips cold and dry, the chow mein had no sauce, completely dry and tasteless. When I called them the owner was very rude and basically told me I don't know what I am talking about a chow mein is dry! Although I have been ordering the same dish from them for years. Eventually said he would replace, but not deliver, and I would have to wait as there were about 15 people in front of me! great customer service! well done! you have just lost a very loyal customer and I hope others will read this and give you a very wide berth. There are other takeaways in the area that I am sure will be very grateful for our business.

I live 2 minutes walk away from this restaurant. The food is bland and for 12 quid, you are better off tucking in pizza and chips. A really bad chef methinks
