Terrible service at Wagamamas terminal 2 Manchester airport. Sat for 10 mins before being served then when I ordered I was told it wasn’t available along with 4 other things on the menu. Walked out and told them that they should probably tell customers what’s not on the menu before sitting them down and they ignored us. Terrible service. Will not be visiting again.

My wife received her meal and ate it. After 20 mins I asked where my meal was. The server failed to chase it up so I never received it. However they still tried to charge me! I refused and the bill was amended without so much as an apology!!! That poor service reflects on the whole company. It was disgusting the way I was treated, hence will I never enter a Wagamama again. Utterly disgusted.

This was genuinely one of the most disappointing airport eating experiences I’ve ever had, and I don’t expect much from airport food. We chose Wagamama as it’s usually reliable but the food was cold, flavourless and not as the menu described, with items missing. We would have said something to the member of wait staff but she was so disinterested, surly and rude that there didn’t seem much point.

After waiting to be seated were taken to our table and told that someone would come and take our order - they didn’t! We waited patiently for someone to come and take our order; however, this didn’t happen. Guests thot came in a long time after us had their order taken straight away., so we decided to go next door to San Carlo where we were served immediately. The fact that we are airside suggests that we’ve got a plane to catch; therefore, they really need to ensure that they take orders promptly. If you’re in a rush I’d look somewhere else.

It's never easy to recruit in the airport but the new manager here is clearly doing a terrific job. He has recruited a lovely team and watching the chefs interact with each other and the waiting team was really good to see. The food was delicious, so much better (for me) than a typical airport full English. Even my tap water, came with loads of ice.. small touches make big differences. Thank you.

Never again ! After a complaint (3/4 of bowl left with only rice)the waitress still charges you for the full amount ! If you like to search for meat/chicken between your rice you can go there. Please do not go when youre hungry !! After i paid spoke to the manager who told me they can't give money back when you allready paid (because of the airport location) They offered a voucher but i refused that because it's unlikely i will eat there again. So finally filled in a complaintform and hope for the best !!

I sat at a table for almost 15 minutes after I was seated not a single soul came and asked me if I wanted something to drink or if I wanted something to eat. When I got up to leave I asked to speak to a manager which I did she stated to me she just came on to the shift but when I explain to her how her staff just bypass me several times not a single soul came and asked me if I wanted anything. I never thought I would experience a racism in the UK but I guess it's no different from the United.

Very busy at breakfast today. Food OK (full English breakfast) but it would be nice to have simpler choice on the menu such as sausage or bacon or egg sarnies. We went in for a Lunchtime meal before the flight. Ordered sushi and yakatori skewers for starters and Firecracker chicken and chicken and prawn pad Thai for mains. In all fairness the food was all good but the service was dreadful. It was early afternoon and there were more staff than customers but still dreadful. I dread to think what service would be like if they were busy!

Great place to eat at terminal 2. Food is just as tasty as any other Wagamama’s. The breakfast is great and different too. The staff are ok but not very attentive. It’s almost like they don’t want to be there and hate their job! There are loads of choices for vegan/plant based diets. Highly recommend if you’re vegan. You won’t go hungry!

We usually book 1903 VIP lounge but on this occasion we didn’t and we have to say the experience was just great!! Staff friendly, decor and restaurant overlooking runway. We both had the English breakfast and was the best breakfast we have had in Manchester Airport in many years of traveling including the VIP lounges. Will definitely be using again in February.

The worst wagamamas that I've been to. The staff were extremely slow and unfriendly, just sauntering around aimlessly (someone had airpods in). I was reluctantly sat down, ignored, then watched the server who had sat me down leave. I watched food go cold being left on the side, and I felt sorry for the kitchen workers who also seemed frustrated by the lack of service. I eventually left and went to San Carlo's next door, which was great.

Update Sep 2023: The chilli chicken ramen was back to not being sweet, which was great. Also the service to be seated was better and I didn't notice the chefs talking. Overall a much better experience. Original: The chilli chicken ramen was sweeter than I remember, which I didn't like, though the ingredients themselves tasted fresh. It took me a while to be seated even though there was no queue. I could hear the personal conversations of the chefs too from where I was seated which I'd rather not have done whilst eating. Paying by QR code worked fine though I'd rather have the option not to give my name and email details to do so.

Ordered breakfast. Had to wait ages but staff seemed extremely slow so thought this was the reason. When no food or drinks had arrived after 20+ minutes we asked what had happened to be told the order 'hadn't printed out'. Too little time left to re-order before flight so had to miss out on breakfast. There are plenty of other food outlets at the airport so AVOID WAGAMAMA unless you have all day to waste.

I've got a rule: always go to the restaurant with the longest queue. Against my better judgement, I chose Wagamama for breakfast cos I was running late. First, plate was cold, then, mushrooms were lukewarm, coffee was cold, hashbrown was greasy and the scrambled egg had obviously been made in a microwave. Oh, instead of toast, I was given a small, tasteless bread roll. In all, a totally unpleasant experience. Still, I was seated by the window so I could watch the airport through the rain.

So we left, on way out member of staff asked way we were leaving, explained then she remarked you can get food down stairs tell them we recommend them they give you discount, I asked her name she replied am only joking they will not give you discount. The food was lovely as always but the service we received was terrible. It felt like all the staff hated their job and the customers. The staff were miserable and the service was so incredibly slow. Staff were moving at a snail’s pace. Doesn’t make for a very good atmosphere. Our juices arrived one by one and most drinks weren’t received until after we had finished eating. The atmosphere felt hostile, it all made for a bleak eating experience. Not exactly the start to our holiday we were looking for.

We love Wagamama but this was probably my worst experience in eating out of all time. We never actually got any food. Restaurant filthy with tables covered in dirty plates and glasses. Queue was 30 minutes long despite restaurant half empty. Waiting staff milled around aimlessly whilst everyone lost their minds asking where their food was. Chefs mostly seemed to chat with each other. We left without placing an order after around 40 minutes. All in all a customer experience to rank alongside having your wisdom teeth removed.

Although on 2 occasions this airport restaurant disappoints. Staff don’t seem to work as a team and the lack of customer service shows as you are made to feel like you are just passing through so won’t bother complaining.

Long wait and long queues to be seated in spite of 50% of the restaurant being empty. The staff in charge of seating was chatting, roaming around in snail space even though he knew there was a long queue. He was more interested in doing other things then getting customers seated. This kind of poor service was shocking for a restaurant at airport where people want to be in and out quickly. They have a flight to catch. Which didn't seem to matter. After ordering also, one dish never arrived. A kids meal. How pathetic is that? No one seems to care about customers at all. It seems they all were just there doing a favor then work. Been to so many Wagamama branches, by far...this is the worst one.

Being an airport outlet, quick turnaround of tables should be the main goal. The staff here are leisurely walking around, front and back, while the queues outside keep increasing. All this while tables are empty and customers can be quickly seated. Yet there is no sense of urgency. Our small Wagamama branch in Coventry which is a third in size turns around tables quicker than this branch!! Kids order not served even after our main meals are almost over and server had to be reminded. Obviously the order was not even made as we were sat right is front of the kitchen and can see what’s going on. Food as expected from Wagamama but staff need a lot of training!!

They don’t offer the kid’s fish bites (they’d not run out, they just don’t offer it), even though they show it on the menu and don’t warn you before you queue for half an hour and sit down; it’s the reason my five year old is willing to eat there, only solution offered was to pay for an adult meal missing half the components, we overheard the chef commenting that it was a “weird meal”. Thanks pal, very understanding. Lots of other stuff was actually sold out too.

We went for breakfast and had to wait a very long time to get seated. Once we were seated the service took a very long time and there were dirty plates and tables all around us. There was plenty of staff to manage the restaurant but they seemed very disinterested. The food came after about 45 minutes and one plate took another 15 minutes. It was all stone cold and very pricey for what you got. Overall a terrible experience and we will not be returning. Such a shame because we’ve never had an experience like this at a wagamamas, so really put a bad light on the chain.

This is the worst food I have ever had in the UK. The first order was the donburi tofu, which was very bad. The vegetables and tofu were burnt and had no salt or any flavor. The second order was the teriyaki saba salmon. The noodles were okay, but the salmon was very bad and had no taste. The drink, high five, was also bad as it was squeezed with the peel and I could taste the peel in my mouth. We cancelled our dessert order because we didn't think it would be good, and we didn't want to waste our money like we did with the rest of the food.

The worst Wagamama experience I’ve ever experienced. Staff were incompetent& looked like a bunch of kids on a school trip. Food took 40 mins to come and I watched him try and give my food to ‘hungry’ people cause they did it wrong. Asked for no coriander and watched them pick it off the top infront of my face. Drinks took 50 mins to come, was quite parched after my salted Edamame. Tried to complain and the staff were avoiding eye contact for 10 mins. Service was that bad that 2 customers went up to the kitchen and picked up the food thereselves. Save yourself a trip & go to WHSmiths for a meal deal

Wouldn’t bother going here. I worked in Wagamama for 3 years but have never seen such poor service. Waited to be seated even though it wasn’t busy and there were plenty of tables inside. Waited about 10 mins to take our order then brought out a side before the drinks. I ordered no coriander on my dish and it was on the pass with coriander which they just picked off when they realised. My partner ordered a yaki soba with no prawns and the dish was made wish prawns then given out to a random customer in front of our face with no update from any member of staff. It then took another half an hour for her food to arrive which by that time I was basically finished. We watched 2 customers go and help themselves to their food from the pass as the staff were that slow and incompetent. I’ve never seen worse service in my life. There were 7 front of house members of staff on shift and when we complained we were told it was because they were understaffed which clearly isn’t the case. Waste of time

The staff are utterly uncommitted to moving or serving you quickly - which, given it’s in an airport departures area, is pretty crucial. We queued at the entrance for ages despite it being almost empty, given menus, walked to a table and then ignored (despite desperately trying to make eye-contact). I walked over to a staff member to ask if we could order, he said yes and then carried on cleaning tables - in an almost empty restaurant. The staff waiting on the tables moved like zombies. We walked out and spent a fraction of the cost on sandwiches in Boots!

We dropped in at 645am for a quick breakfast before heading to our gate at Manchester airport and we’re left waiting for over half an hour. My daughter, who is allergic to eggs, ordered the cooked breakfast without eggs. The waitress came over and marked her placemate with a special allergy sign and left. Later after all out breakfasts had arrived except my daughters, we asked where it was. The manager came over to say that they couldnt cook it there because of the allergy and it would have to be cooked offsite. Nobody had bothered to come and tell us this news and we were left waiting thinking the breakfast was coming. We were then rushing to the gate and my daughter went without. Really bad service. All the staff seemed to be running around and not really accomplishing anything. Don’t bother with this restaurant. Menu looks great but service is terrible.

Family of four at lunchtime All afternoon flights to Europe were slightly delayed so queues for all the restaurants at lunchtime- we queued around 10-15 minutes Once seated service was fast and flawless We ordered drinks immediately: Large power juice - shared this with my husband, delicious I would have ordered the Manchester Airport exclusive juice, it was unavailable due to high demand Food wise we skipped starters and ordered mains: Chicken Ramen Bowl Shi’a Shick Salad bowl Katsu curry Katsu curry hot with non-sticky, boiled rice They easily dealt with the fussy orders along side the standard ones Food arrived fast and was hot, although it comes when it’s ready so the my all arrived at different times with the ramen coming last. Cannot find any fault in the food presentation or flavour

Terrible service, cancelled my order after waiting over 30 mins and those people who arrived after me had their meals within 10 minutes. The restaurant was not busy yet it took a good while before I was even acknowledged. Avoid!!!!

Stood waiting in the queue watching the staff walk around like a seen from the walking dead, without a care in the world, stood there for around 20mins and then the staff finally came over and said there’s a 30mins wait time on food! Someone needs to let the staff know they work in an airport not a shopping centre! You don’t have that much time. Staff definitely under trained and not interested .

Waited for 30 min in queue despite a lot of empty seats. Food arrived totally random (which we know is the case for wagamama) but we finished by the time one of our kids got his ramen. He got really upset and started to cry. We were asked to take him outside while desperately trying to pay our bill for an average food. Never again. Thank you.

Super friendly and helpful young lads today- was ordering one juice to go, and was in a rush. Despite being super occupied serving and waiting customers, they took turn to help me get on the drink in short time. On top, love the to-go bottle, recyclable and no spill all over me while running to the gate. 👍 One of them was kind enough to comfort me that I’d catch my flight. And I did ! 😊 Thanks mates, will be back with no rush next time 😎

Food was fine, when it came! Spending a full hour in an airport Wagamama = below expectations. Think I got -really- unlucky with poor service today; arrived around 11:25, seated quickly, told only serving breakfast. Waited 15-20 minutes to be spoken to again, whilst staff seemed to be busy with other things and had appeared to forget I was here. By the time somebody realised I needed service (and did apologise when I said I'd been waiting), I had to change my order because breakfast is no longer being served! Just a bit of a disappointing experience for my expectations of both Wagamama and airport restaurants (especially the latter), where it's not unreasonable to expect pretty swift service.

Don’t waste your time. We love Wagamamas and go to various ones across Manchester but hadn’t tried this one. Waited to be seated as the sign requested and we were left waiting for over 10-mins. Tried to get the attention of multiple members of staff inside and was ignored. There were many members of staff that didn’t look to be doing too much other than chatting to each other and ignoring us. Didn’t end up getting a table until we walked in and spoke to the manager. We were then seated and waited a further 20-mins to get our drinks ordered. Food order wasn’t taken for a further 10-mins so we ended up getting up to leave. We hadn’t even been given our drinks within the 10 mins between ordering and leaving. So I advised the waitress to cancel the drinks order and said we’d been waiting over half an hour. Glazed look, no response. She just walked to the till and presumably cancelled the order. The whole ordeal was over 40-mins with no drinks or food order taken to even show for it.

Drinks arrived after our meal. Had to ask 3 seperate times for when it was going to arrive. Even then they had missed one of our orders on. Had to wait 5 more minutes for drinks when we asked due to none of the staff being at the bar to make any of them. Shockin

Although the food was the normal standard the service was appalling. The restaurant must have been just 20% full by the time we left yet we had to wait a long time to be seated. Ordering and receipt of food was slow. The wrong order came for my daughter and I had to get out of my seat to chase it five times. It came as we were about to finish. We felt stressed out, it’s not as if you can have a leisurely brunch at an airport. You’re under time pressure a t the best of times but this whole experience meant we had to rush around the airport. After we paid someone did ask us if we’d enjoyed our meal. I explained that we had had a terrible experience. This was the first person who bothered about the lack of service. He offered to get me the manager but we had no time to discuss what had gone wrong! Absolutely appalling. You’d think in an airport there’s be a quick turnaround but it was disorganised. Servers kept their heads down so that you couldn’t make eye contact with them. Don’t bother!

Food delicious but staff not interested in customers at all, they are avoiding any customer service and chat away in the corner. Everybody was discussed in my table with how terrible service is being provided. Especially whilst at yhe airport there should be sense of rush in everyone. Bad!

Arrived here after dropping son at uni. One of the only restaurants with no queue. The restaurant was busy and we were offered two seats on a long table between two other couples. The staff were very polite and ensured everyone was happy with the arrangement. A very large menu and lots of dishes I was unfamiliar with. We had a spicy beef hotpot and pork noodles both of which were very tasty. Beef was spicy and waiter checked we were ok with that. The bill was very reasonable, certainly compared to prices in the south east. I would recommend this restaurant and would visit again. I don't recognise the poor reviews on here as being anywhere near representative of my visit.

Just awful salt and pepper. Chicken must’ve been cooked hours ago as the batter was so horribly crispy. It was also freezing cold. What a waste of money.
