Wagamama in Barnet

Please if you have any other branch close to you go there instead. The service here is awful. They will literally ignore you at the door askimg for a table and then laugh together about it. Save your time and go to a different branch if you can.

This is the first time I have been to Wagamamas. What a great experience this was. The food was great, the service was efficient and the staff were so friendly. The price for a meal for two with drinks was a reasonable £70. Will definitely be going back

I always feel for the staff as waiting here seems a tough gig with loads of kids and some high-pressure parents. I can't imagine the pay is great. Food here is generally fine although I wasn't knocked out by it this time. The wait for food was really not great, especially with kids. We all know the line about food arriving when it arrives but we don't expect one kid to wait about 15 mins after the other gets their dish, especially when the food appears just as it was asked for. The staff certainly seemed busy so I can't say they were slacking but I get the feeling that perhaps there weren't enough. You also got the feeling that they weren't making much of an effort to look around to check people were OK but they were keeping busy. I like this restaurant and so do my kids and it's a shame to see so many negative reviews. I hope the management will look into this and make the necessary changes. I wonder whether one issue is that they are prioritising/struggling to cope with online delivery orders. When I have ordered from them I have found them quick - perhaps the sad secret is to get delivery and not actually order in the restaurant - hopefully not.

Honestly at this point just shut the place down. This is the worst run restaurant let alone Wagamama's I have ever come across. Rude staff Basically no management. And the food is terrible On my last outing here I saw a chef sneeze into his hands and continue to prepare food. I had to leave after watching that monstrosity.

This is the worst run Wagamama I have ever known, it's so consistently bad that it beggars belief. My kids love the food so we attempt to go there every time we go to the cinema next door and this time the place was at 25% capacity but there were 20 people waiting to be sat at the dozens of empty tables. In the 10 minutes we waited the staff didn't even acknowledge our existence, the people waiting in front of us told us they'd been standing there for half an hour so we immediately left. If we have ever actually eaten there the service is so slow and infuriating that we order the food and the bill at the same time because it saves asking for it 6 times when we're in a rush to leave. It's such a shame because the food is great and we keep going expecting that they've addressed the issues but it's actually getting worse!

Disgusting behaviour from management. We waited 20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge we were standing waiting to be seated. When eventually someone made eye contact they said it would be at least another half hour. They were obviously under pressure. They should have put their takeaway orders on hold as that was taking priority for the manager. Instead would not give even eye contact. They would not even acknowledge anyone was standing at the door. Left everyone including us (who were at the front of the queue) waiting there like lemons (I could use a stronger word!)

Never again. Incompetent staff. Waited almost an hour as the waitress messed up our order and sent it to another table. I didn’t even hear an apology. No one checked on us. No one at all. We had to wait ages just to call someone over. Absolute shambles. Ended up walking out as was so angry. Honestly you couldn’t write it

Whichever branch you go to, Wagamama always serves great food. But the quality of staff varies a lot. The Chaplin Sq/ FInchley is particularly bad because staff are so slow to tidy up tables when diners leave. So... when you enter you're often surrounded by several tables with dirty cutlery, half eaten food and stuff spilled on the table. Really gross. I pointed this out to a member of staff who shrugged me off like a moody teenager would and we could see her clearly pointing towards us and discussing with other staff what I'd said. I'll keep on going to WM - jut not this branch

Staff were friendly and the chilli squid was amazing however we ordered the cod ramen and it tasted like hot water. The most bland food I've ever tasted, no seasoning whatsoever and the cod was overcooked and stuck to the skin. The staff were very understanding and helpful with the quality issue. After asking for a new bowl it came back smothered in chilli and the cod was still overcooked. The vegan chicken ramen was mediocre at best. Overall, really good service, amazing chilli squid but the rest wasn't good..

Tonight we visited Wagamama in North Finchley only to have the rudest waitress serve us. We were served by a young mixed race/African American girl who gave the impression that she hated being there, she was rude and was giving us an attitude. The girl was unfamiliar with the menu and was very unwilling to help. Absolutely ruined our evening. If I ever go to that Wagamama again I will specifically request another waitress/waiter. I wish I'd taken down her name so I could report her to her manager.

We went for lunch. There was a short wait to be seated in the functional, modern restaurant. My partner was delighted to be offered a separate vegetarian/vegan menu. My partner had a vegetable and tofu katsu curry which he enjoyed even more after spicing it up with some of the condiments placed on each table. I had a ramen bowl with chili prawns and kimchi, also very nice. There was a good amount of plump prawns and the spice level was fine. A bit more kimchi would have been nice though. We both opted for their spiced blueberry juice which was delicious and healthy to boot. Some of the desserts were quite appealing. We were intrigued by the smoked chocolate caramel cake. It was yummy, and we regretted having ordered only one portion to share. Next time... Our meal came to about GBP38 before tip, average London prices. Service was a little slow at times as they seemed to be short staffed, but very friendly and accommodating, and giving us plenty of time to decide on our choices. It's not far, so we will be back for sure.

Sat down at a clean table, fast service, food came in impeccable condition also very fast! Did not feel rushed to leave. Toilets were clean. All staff were very friendly with a smile!

Came in, took ages to get seated (half empty) then took seemed like a lifetime to even order a drink. Staff very slow and not interested in us. Glasses always look dirty. A better Wagamama's for delicious & plentiful food and excellent service, you'll not find. And Finchley Leisure Park has so much more to offer from Pilates in the Lido to ten pin bowling in Hollywood Bowl and a Vue cinema. Plus the added advantage of free parking. We love the duck gyoza (dumplings) and chicken ramen, which was as tasty as always and perfect in cold weather!

I visited this restaurant for the first time with my wife to be today, ( 03/03/2017) after we selected our meals from the menu, we informed staff that my partner has a nut allergy, we were quickly informed it was policy that the manager has to take our order, which he swiftly did, the restaurant was very busy with other customers, we were checked upon by staff throughout our visit, my partner and I were very impressed with the level of service from the staff, it's a shame I didn't note the lady member of staffs name and the managers name, they were excellent!!! The food was tasty, filling and well presented, the restaurant is clean and inviting, well done to the staff, both me and my partner are so impressed we will be coming back, well done

Visited Wagamama Finchley with 7 teenagers for a birthday lunch. Staff, service and food all excellent, well worth a visit.

Eaten in many of their restaurants over many years, but this is the best for food and service. They aren't mean with the small things like dips with the gyoza and the soup that comes with the ramen dishes, which barely covers the chicken & noodles in St Albans. Our duck gyoza was cooked perfectly and the ramen had plenty of all the ingredients, whereas last week we noticed there were no spring onions in our ramen at St Albans, which we would ordinarily just put down to an oversight, but in that branch feel it was more likely to be a cost saving exercise. Their chicken ramen or the chicken katsu curry are our favourite dishes this time of year. It's also easy and free to park at Finchley. A thoroughly enjoyable meal.

We were made to feel very unwelcome and had a waitress who was bordering on rude. The restaurant was not busy and it was a good hour before closing time.My glass of wine was set on the table with such force it was almost thrown at me, and we had fruit flies buzzing around our heads the whole time. All of the activities of the serving staff were quite aggressive, such as tray being wiped down and thrown onto piles. Very unpleasant atmosphere. The food and drinks were good, but I expected much better service! A real pity.

The only reason that I'm not giving an excellent is because we were in before the big dinner rush and there were people queueing to get in. I can't speak for their experience. All I wish to say is that all members of staff that we spoke to were attentive, considerate, knowledgable about the food they were serving and totally engaging and personable. The food was excellent and it was a perfect meal before we went to the cinema after at this Finchley location. I've already eyed up the menu for my next visit and hope it will be soon....

Always good for for takeaway which is how we normally do. We are ust outside deliveroo zone so have to collect but very convenient. Great takeaway dishes / bowls you eat from and always fresh and tasty.....

Just returned from a family birthday meal. Food portion sizes on the small side, ordered a duck dish costing £13.95 that had no more than a handful of cold duck on it. The fish ramen also over priced. Service not great, paid £86 for our meal and wish we had gone to the £6 all you can eat chinese buffet just up the road.

I ordered the sirloin steak salad. My husband got his chicken green curry which was nice but my food sat in the side for 10 mins before realising it was mine. Brought to me eventually the steak was cold. I said u couldn't eat it. Waitress said manager would. Come over. It took the manager more than 10 mins to come over by which Tim we asked for the bill 3times. I did not pay for the steak. I advised steak was also very raw. Manager said that's how they cook it. We'll surely you should be asked how you want your steak cooked? Medium to rate, well done. Bad service will not return to this branch

This one really lets the company.Having just been seated & not given a chance to look at the menu, we get asked " are you ready to order"We're given time, as we've said no to the first request. Now that we've ordered. The starters arrive together. I know the wagamama policy is that not all the meal may come at the same time, but 10 minutes between a noodle dish & a teppianake dish ! I don't think so.I'm halfway through my food, as my wife tells me not to let it go cold. The waiter come over & asks me if it's ok. I mention that it wou the be nice to eat together with my wife. To which I get no reaction.My daughter who ordered a prawn dish, which number has been written down on the table mat clearly, gets chicken. So this goes back. Again no reaction.I don't go out to have confrontations.I'm out with my family for some quality time. It would be nice, if someone from Wagamama could look into this.

Situated on site at the Vue cinema complex at Finchley. Plenty of parking outside . Ideal for eating before or after visiting the cinema. Friendly attentive staff who were quick to take our orders. This Wagamama is by far the worst restaurant I have ever been to. I ordered take out, in fairness it was all ready for me when I arrived but when I got home I found my daughter only had half of her meal. Her chicken was so tough it was literally like a rubber, it was impossible to chew or break apart. I called to complain to the restaurant and they suggested I drive back from Edgware to Finchley in order to get a replacement, I said I wanted a refund not a replacement. The manager asked me to bring the dish with me - I said thats fine!I arrived at the restaurant and was greeted by a very aggressive, red-faced, shaking angry man - the chef, Mark. He was absolutely disgraceful in how he spoke to me. I explained to the manager he was making me feel uncomfortable as he was standing centimetres from my face, he refused to move and the manager did not say anything to him!!I said it was all unacceptable, which was agreed with by the other customers. He said I was being intimidating to members of staff. I asked the ONLY member of staff I had spoken to "Did I intimidate you?" He said "no, you said its okay don't worry." I said to Mark "So who have I been intimidating?"He then was speechless and said "Fine, if you are going to continue being rude I am going to call the police. Sit down at a table and wait for them to arrive." I was so shocked!! I had only made a small complaint and asked for a refund - showing my daughter had not eaten the food, I brought it back and was cooking her something else at home. He then called the police. Within 10 minutes they arrived. I explained the situation to them, as did other customer witnesses. Our statements matched up - so they spoke with the chef. He didn't know what to say so the police said that they could not believe they had been called over a dispute of CHICKEN!!They left after 2 minutes and I was finally given my refund!After speaking with the area manager, I was told the manager and chef had taken full responsibility for the situation and had agreed they blew it out of proportion. I will never, ever return to the Finchley Wagamama again. As other reviews have said - this is by FAR the worst Wagamama around!! Go to Brent Cross or Watford, Watford Wagamama is amazing!!

Tried for the first time and felt it could have been better.The edamame was fine as was the wagamama ramen whereas the duck gyoza was over-cooked and the mandarin sesame chicken salad was so drenched in sesame oil as to be inedible. However, this was replaced quickly and without fuss by a chicken Itame (spicy green coconut and lemongrass flavour) that was delicious. Fast and efficient service. Food came out hot. Only one dish was delayed and arrive after we had all eaten. The manager refunded. After a lot of well placed words. All the food was tasty and prepared to a high standard.

After a evening of bowling, we wanted to have something different. Went into Wagamamas and the staff were not friendly. Food was quick (perfect for the little ones) and very tasty. It's great to have a Waga's nearby - only downside compared with eating at a Waga's in town, is that there were lots of teenagers being incredibly noisy and demonstrating how poorly they had been raised.....One VERY NEGATIVE POINT to be aware of - there does not seem to be ANY management of the car park, so if you are disabled with a blue badge (like me) do not have any expectation that you will be able to park in the disabled spaces by the restaurant - unfortunately the arrogant able-bodied will be parked in this clearly marked disabled spaces.....

My partner and I visited here for lunch today- I usually love Wagamamas but this is an awful branch. It's the second time we have been recently. It is always cold as the door is left open, the high top chairs are very uncomfortable the tables dig into your legs. It's also very loud due to the flooring- we gave up trying to talk. Worst of all the staff were awful- half way into our mains we had to question where are drinks were.It took about 45 minutes to ask for the bill and get someone to come with a card machine- we were watching others come and go. Would not visit this branch again.

I live nearby, took my son, we had three main courses to share, a mixed seafood and meat noodle bowl, the mushroom noodle bowl and the fried veg with curry sauce and rice. All were delicious, fresh and steaming hot. The place can clearly get packed out and therefore noisy etc at busy times as it is in the cinemas/bowling complex, but the queue moves along OK so bear with it..I liked that there were more individual tables in this branch, necessary when half the patrons were kids when we went, servive was erratic, I had to ask three times for free water and twice for a green tea, and they brought over the wrong food order completely at first. But it was quickly resolved and we got on with gobbling it all up. If you havent been to a wagamamas Id highly recommend it, particulaly to vegetarians who are very well served on the menu.
