Wagamama in Aylesbury Vale

Wagamama Aylesbury has seriously lost its way. I’ve enjoyed their food in the past, but my recent visit left me baffled and thoroughly disappointed. The food quality has plummeted, and they’re clearly hoping customers won’t notice the mess coming out of their kitchen. I ordered the Hot Honey Fried Chicken, a dish I’ve had before and enjoyed. But this time? It was burned (see pic). Instead of admitting the mistake, they had the nerve to pass it off as char-grilled chicken, hoping I wouldn’t notice. Having had this dish before, it was obvious that they were trying to cover up their botched frying job. The chicken was overcooked, dark, bitter, and completely lacking the usual crispy texture. Even worse, the honey glaze that’s supposed to add a delicious kick seemed thrown on in desperation, as if the sweetness would somehow hide the burnt flavour. Spoiler: it didn’t. The whole dish tasted like an underwhelming, scorched attempt at salvaging ruined fried chicken. Wagamama, if you burn something, own up to it. Don’t insult your loyal customers by passing off a poorly cooked dish as something it’s not. The quality and integrity that once made you a solid choice have gone completely downhill. Until they fix this shocking drop in standards, I’d suggest looking elsewhere for your noodle and rice fix.

I used to love this place, but the food quality is lower lately. Especially if you order take out. It is very noisy. As someone with hearing difficulties, it's difficult to have conversations if it's busy.

Unfortunately the ramens were all cold and tasteless. However the drinks and starters were delicious and beautifully presented.

Waited 2 hours for my food, the cooks kept telling us theres two minutes until our food obviously lying cos we waited 30 mins after that Really kind lady though she was very honest In the end the food was alright still warm but really long wait A joke to be honest

Absolutely shocking service for dine-in! They prioritise the take-away services completely disregarding people coming in. Waited over an hour to get our order (half an hour apart!) while dozens of orders were being given to the delivery drivers. Absolutely shocking!

Avoid Saturday night, my wife finished her meal before I was served, beef Donburi very poor, the amount of beef was less than half of a medium steak. Service :slow Value for money out of 10: 2

We visited for a late lunch. Miso soup, pickles, chicken gyoza 🥟. Chicken teriyaki noodles and chicken katsu main. All washed down with their signature High Five juices. Friendly prompt service and delicious food. Excellent thank you!

Always been a Wagamama’s fan so thought we’d get the kids involved for the first time and wow, did they enjoy it! Great selection from the children’s menu and the table service was on point. Always a consistently great meal 🥘

Service was slow, some meals came out 20 mins after the first. Food was mediocre and overpriced. Charged me a tip on top of the bill without my consent or letting me know. Would not go here again.

Dreadful, incredibly poor customer service... Ordered dinner for family, one main meal was not delivered, called the local number, said they were unable to help and they provided number to call. Called, was told they were unable to deliver the missing meal, and we would be refunded for the one meal, Ruined family meal...

Came in at lunch time and the food was very nice, came quick and the restaurant was clean. Service was great from Matt and the girl behind the drinks counter! Best experience I’ve had at a Waga’s! The new brisket dumplings 10/10 😍

Another great lunch with my wife a couple of days ago. We've been coming here for 4 years. Food is always perfectly cooked and staff are always polite, friendly and attentive. Ignore ridiculous reviews about problems with paying or staff forgetting a drink. These things happen in all restaurants and should be sorted at the time, in the restaurant where the staff have a chance to put it right. Please be aware that the food comes out as it's prepared. It's Japanese fusion, not Weatherspoons! It's more fun that way too!

Best place to eat if you're visiting the theatre

The food was lovely and so was our first server (Lauren) then a man took over he brought us dessert menu and then my gf asked for another drink and for a few more mins on deciding on dessert, then for the next half hour we were ignored no drink brought over no staff would look at us and was really disappointed asked for the bill when after 35 mins someone gave us some attention and left disappointed and annoyed.

I ordered nearly £100.00 worth of food to be collected. First I was using the website to order Click and collect and the payment tool ages to go through. So in the end I cancelled that can called the restaurant. The order was duly taken. I arrived at the restaurant to pick it up and there were two families ahead of me outside the glass door. It took a bit of time before they were found seats and then it was my turn. No one bothered to ask me what I was there for. The staff saw me waiting outside but just ignored me completely. Then another person to came to collect and he just said I am going to go in and ask them. Yet, no response from the staff. The person who went in beckoned me and said come in side. I then walked in and showed my order to one of the staff members. It wasn't ready and they had to put the last bits in and then bring it to me. Do we have to come in Santa Claus clothing to be noticed and served? I like to think the worst, but I am holding back. I wouldn't choose Wagamam gain for some time as I don't miss the food and definitely the appalling service and attitude. No wonder the restaurant has more average to poor reviews than good ones.

The staff was friendly, and the food was freshly made.

The food is always reliably good and the service also excellent. Depending on the day/time it can be particularly noisy however it's not to the extent that it would stop me from visiting.

Spent £17.00 on a meal that can only be described as average. In a crowd of 9 of us some of us elected to pay by card at the end or Apple Pay in my case and some opted to pay by the Wagamama app. I paid my money at the same time as somebody accidentally paid the whole bill in total on the app ( very easy to do apparently) so… I had paid my bill and my colleague had also paid my bill as we pressed the button at the same time apparently! No refund for double payment was forthcoming and I have been told I have to wait 5 working days for a refund and I owe my colleague the same amount as she paid it it too- so £34.50 for an underwhelming main course and a tonic water. When I asked for the head office number to complain I was told by the manager she could not give out a number but after awhile, very reluctantly gave me the number of the restaurant. So here I am £17.25 out of pocket with no guarantee I will see that money again. I feel like I’ve been scammed. Would advise anyone not to use the app to pay individually when there is a group bill. The manager appeared to not really know what she was doing ( except for withholding telephone numbers). Won’t be eating here again.

Great service and wonderful food

Walked in with a large party on a Wednesday evening, accommodated us all easily. Great service, delicious Udon noodles.

Friendly staff, tasty food. Unfortunately there is only one restroom in the restaurant which is to be used by men, women and children - and on this occasion the toilet was all blocked up with toilet paper and human waste. Very nasty. Apart from that, no issues.

Good service, good food and incredibly friendly staff. Our waitress was Paige and she was very welcoming and polite. £5 for a 330ml alcohol free Asahi seemed a bit expensive though.

Surprised at how good the place was. My previous experiences with Wagamama were disappointing, to say the least.

One of my favourite eating restaurants I have visited many times in many different locations with friends and family ,I have luckily received a free Fire Cracker styled meal on a Birthday 🎂 surprise a few years back. Love the vibe

Exceptional food... a little hectic as so many people, but otherwise very good, had a great time.

Food was really tasty as always and service brilliant, David was very attentive and looked after us very well.

Beautiful atmosphere and lovely staff. We were served by David who was extremely accommodating, friendly and funny. Food was 10/10 can’t wait to come back. Thanks guys x

I came on Saturday Pre-Theatre with my wife, food was delicious, although there was a slight wait for part of our order, but that is to be expected. Service was brilliant, we were served by the friendliest waitress we’ve ever met - it really does make a difference! We’ll definitely be back.

Visited in 2022 Ordered vegan Katsu curry and was served chicken. When I questioned it the young girl was quite rude and Said its defunately vegan I asked her to come to look she then sheepishly said she'll bring the correct one. Haven't been back since

Amazing food, timings and consistency have always been up to par and beyond. Today was the first time severed by Daniel. He was amazing,friendly, attentive always going beyond.

Love Wagamama but disappointed that the menu has changed. No jasmine tea, for example. Won't put me off going though!

The staff went over and above to prepare our meal quickly as we were very short on time.

Food and service were great, but had to wait beyond ten minutes for one of our parties meals to be bought to the table. Would prefer if everyone could eat at the same time.

The restaurant is very noisy with noise from both customers and kitchen, and they didn't let us sit outside on a warm day, saying they didn't have enough staff (OK... so plan your shift schedules better). Service was inconsistent. Had to remind of our drinks order. Food was average. The pad Thai at Thailicious round the corner is much nicer.

Had a delicious katsu chicken curry, with ,two positive punch cocktails, followed by katsu banana and ice cream with toffee sauce. Would highly recommend this Restaurant.

I’d like to commend Daniel our main server of the evening. very rarely do I do reviews, however I feel his service was brilliant and requires celebrating!

Standard Wagamama affair with the food however the service was a little slow.

Fantastic vegetarian options well happy with kitchen and taste of food . Bad points, place wasn't clean according wagamama standards Staff was polite and friendly no problems.

My wife had another quick lunch here. The food is interesting and delicious. The staff are friendly and helpful. It's always a joy to spend time here for a quick lunch or a long dinner.

It's a new menu so a traditionalist will take time to come around. That said it's still all yummy and combined with great, chatty and friendly staff and a lively atmosphere wagamama remains a simple choice for a good meal out.

It's a popular Wagamamas and in a good location in Aylesbury with parking nearby and close to the town centre. The food is good, I went for a ginger chicken with soba noodles, which was nice and light for a working lunch. I'm glad I got a side of kimchi, though, as the flavours weren't quite punchy enough for me, just personal preference. I wish they hadn't discontinued the Chicken Itame! That was my favourite dish, and I haven't found a dish that can compete yet.

Tasty food, but less portion for the price. Had wagamama in London, and the portion was much more.

Myself my daughter and grandson have just eaten at wagamama in aylesbury and it was awful we spoke to our waitress and she was fantastic very polite and couldn't do enough for us to try and help, then a young woman called Holly came over she was rude defensive and had a really poor attitude after listening to our complaint she said we'll you couldn't have been given the wrong food because the other thing comes in pre fried so we can tell by looking at it !!!! Then spent the next 10 minutes talking and whispering with other staff having a laugh at our expense.. not a very nice young lady and clearly not suited to her position. As for our waitress Flo she asked if there was anything she could do, I asked if the manager Holly would like to apologise and she could send her over but nothing not even eye contact. Just more whispers amongst some staff. Absolutely shocking behaviour from a clearly unexperienced manager will not be eating at this restaurant again.

Long wait to get seated. Loads of people running past me but no one getting us seated. Food was ok. Arrived at different times as expected. Drinks Are here took a while to arrive and order incomplete. Very attentive towards end of meal. Wonder why?

I did hope things had gotten better. The thing is, we headed here as we knew we would be fed at 9:40pm however we didn’t expect warm beer and apathy. Said it all really. We came in, were told our bill would be given at 10pm whether we had finished or not. The young person serving us clearly thought we were an inconvenience but also served warm beer and upon questioning said “it just went in the fridge” personally couldn’t understand why stock was either not rotated or didn’t get the cold beers from behind the warm beers. Food great. Service sloppy & inexperienced. Useless in fact. Would rather have paid more for someone more competent. Fool

Asian fusion food with the lack of taste. I wouldnt come back again.

The restaurant is filthy. Food all over the floor and up the windows. Not a great first impression at all. The staff are all teenagers it seems, and although they were polite enough the service was really lacking. The food was ok, but tbh, you could probably make better at home and for a fraction of the price. Very, very expensive for what it is...£4.70 for Edamame, £4.90 for wok fried greens...these are just sides! Unfortunately just another chain restaurant that don't really care how bad they are as they have plenty of money and people will still go regardless. I won't go back.

Love the food the place was nice and clean

I can never fault the food at Wagamama's - it's always delicious 😋 The waitress that servide my food... disappointing would be an understatement. The restaurant was empty - yet she was slow to take our order and constantly ignored us. We had no drinks during our meal. She just slammed the food down and didn't wait to hear any request. I'll always go Wagamama's however the one in Ayslesbury. Not likely, I work hard for my money and I want I nice experience not be left feeling let down.

Slowest service I have seen at Wagamama ever. When my food arrived it was the wrong item & when I asked for it to be corrected the kitchen didn’t understand a simple order and so was brought the wrong item for the second time. From the looks of how things were going for other people I can say that everyone was having the same kind of issues (wrong items, food being v slow etc). I love Wagamama however this experience has made me never want to go again.

Went for dinner. No queue - half full when we arrived. Usual Wagamama menu. Food was nice. As usual, the food arrived all over the place - 1 starter, then 2 mains, then two more starters, then a main, then another starter. Thats how it works at all Wagamamas. I don't like that aspect, but there it is. They normally explain this as you order - it was not explained this time. Its always a little anxious making, wondering if the rest of your order is coming after 10 minutes gap... The food was nice as always. Some of the service was a little casual - how things work was not explained, food was plonked on the table and the server gone so quickly you couldn't ask for missing cutlery. Fingers on inside of bowls and plates whilst being served - would prefer more of a nod to hygiene these days. Another server was very pleasant and chatty. As ever these days theres delivery drivers coming and going through the front door, one of which was really quite rude.

The food here is always fantastic, we have eaten in, taken out and got delivery. Always top notch with no issues. It's always busy here, and most times there is a wait for a table and about 30mins wait on take out or delivery. I recommend the wok greens. Staff are always pleasant here even though they are running around and busy.

Went for a dinner with kids. Their meals arrived quickly but I was waiting almost an hour for my ramen which by that time they finished their meals. Egg in my ramen was frozen, and soup itself was cold, not what you would expect waiting for so long. I wouldn't recommend it. I'm not going to go there again as for the past few years, it went down hill massively.

Does great food. Some staff need a night off by the attitude but others are top notch..

Love the food, we were not disappointed on this visit either. There are tables with chairs and some with backless benches. We find the backless benches too uncomfortable so we were please to find the ‘proper’ chairs available! Excellent service and delicious food !

Shocking service, terrible food. Where has the joy in eating out gone. If you hate working there don't bother lifes to short. Starters came out after the mains and at different times. With no explanation. No check back. I left most of my food. Not bothered. Didn't even ask if we enjoyed it. Joyless experience. I will not be returning and giving them my hard earned money. First and last time.

Was served by Flo who was very polite and friendly. I was sat with a difficult man who did not know what he wanted and she was very accommodating and really made my experience a great one!!

Ordered a takeaway via deliveroo just now. Partner accidentally ordered the wrong katsu, same curry, just wanted the yasai option instead- and in fact the tofu option he paid for was more expensive. We called literally straight away, as soon as he read the order out- and the order had only just that second even been accepted. We couldn’t cancel the order, and deliveroo advises to call the restaurant to change it. So we did, guy on the phone didn’t want to hear anything, didn’t even ask for the name or order number- just straight up no. There’s absolutely no reason as to why they couldn’t change it, there was no way they had started making it and he didn’t even ask for the order to check that. Just general unhelpfulness. This is a really poor branch in comparison to the other Wagamamas.

Four of us ate in the Aylesbury Wagamama's on Sunday evening and our experience was wonderful from the moment we walked through the door. The staff were attentive and friendly but not overly so we didn't feel rushed. We were joined by friends from Australia visiting us (who miss the food as there aren't any Wagamama's in Australia) and they were not disappointed, the food was as good as ever! Particularly love the Ebi katsu, Bang bang cauliflower and chilli squid. A great place to dine, thank you to all the staff for making our visit so enjoyable.

Nice food, but does come out as soon as it's ready so not all served at the same time, but this is the way Wagamama work. Good food, staff brilliant. Excellent visit before cinema.

Poor customer service. Completely Wrong order received and the response was “speak to deliveroo”. It took over an hour for that order to come if I wait for deliveroo to sort it I won’t be eating till midnight! If Wagamama employ deliveroo as their delivery carrier then they have to take some responsibility to keep the customer happy when it goes wrong. They should be able to contact the driver surely? We all know deliveroo are naff but by affiliating with them wagamama are becoming naff too. Off to McDonald’s it is!

Our first time here, and it was a wonderful experience. Staff were lovely and had a great knowledge of the food. I really enjoyed my duck dish. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Servers lovely. Place is run by kids. Long wait for food and disappointed. As regular Wagamam goers we are aware food comes out at random times but the wait between dishes was ridiculous. Food was undercooked and presented poorly 😢

Food good but don't order cloudy lemonade dishwater

Unfortunately we had a bit of a nightmare with the delivery service through deliveroo. Working in hospitality ourselves we were very much aware that it had nothing to do with the restaurant itself and it was deliveroo as a company. Daniel who kept in contact with us was INCREDIBLE. He kept us updated on what’s going on, and re-made our food when the driver took too long. I wanted to mention him as he was fantastic, made sure we had a good experiance, and our food arrived hot. Thank you Daniel for helping us out, you were an absolute star, sorry if we added any stress to your night ;)

There was a queue of people despite a half empty restaurant, so I walked inside to ask a staff member how long we might need to wait for a table. I was then taken aback when the manager quite aggressively accused me of queue jumping! I explained I simply wanted to know the wait time, but this fell on deaf ears and he just kept repeating the accusation - all quite bizarre. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere and I'll never be visiting this branch again!

Dietary requirements not paid attention to, paste-like and overcooked noodles.

Been here a few times. The food is ok. Not very warm though on any occasion. Not good enough. Staffed by young kids. Table not set for when we got there as per picture. Had to ask for everything tonight. To order. Cutlery. More drinks. Bill. Just not good service. The restaurant is not that clean. The floor was covered in all sorts. Looked like it hadn't been cleaned all day. We didn't eat till 5ish. A table near us had food on and a laptop and the bench had food on as per picture. One toilet for whole restaurant. Dirty. Overall a lot of improvements needed.

Underwhelmed it didn't live up to my expectations, blunt chicken noddle Ramen. The only thing I enjoyed was the gin drink, it was massive.

Can't fault a Wagamamas. Helpful staff and great fresh food.
