The best takeaway in town by far! Every dish is packed with flavour and fresh. Very reasonably priced too. Tasty, clean and filling all for a sensible and affordable price!

Nothing like any Indian restaurant/takeaway you normally get in the UK. Food tastes so fresh and home made, really delicious and the staff are also friendly which is a bonus. The small menu I think shows the food is made fresh and you pay a fraction of the price of what you’d normally pay for Indian takeaway food (I just paid £5 for a small curry, rice and chapati!) Cannot recommend enough if you want a delicious authentic meal!

This place is very popular with Asians in Aylesbury, as it only serves authentic Pakistani food, every thing there is 100 % as eaten by Pakistanis at home. Too bad it does not have any tables and is a take away only. So if you have tried the usual curry houses and something authentic, this the place to go to

I went to salim takeaway. Ordered 10 naans and 10 roti,s. Clear big sign outside advertising 3 naans or roti for £1. When I asked for the price of the order he said £10. I explained it should be £7. The owner started getting angry and abusive, saving the offer is only available if you purchase a curry. When I tried to explain your sign says clearly otherwise he just turned around and said, well it's £10. Missleading advertisement. 21/05/21 @ 19:00

By some distance the best and most authentic takeaway in Aylesbury. Food is absolutely delicious and the guys behind the counter are super friendly. Worth noting that they make certain quantities of food per food service and once it's gone, it's gone, so always best to get there early and get the best choices. Worth clarifying what dishes are spicy on the day, because some of the dishes can be pretty hot. I love it spicy, but I imagine it would be off-putting to others if it came as a surprise and you were more of a korma spice person than Madras. Naans are made to order and are so good compared to other places and the prices are insane - two medium dishes, 3 naan, 2 samosas for around a tenner. Absolutely magic.

It is a hit and miss .Food is nice but they cook it in bulk portions and you never really know how old the food really is as no body really knows the supply and demand of a specific food item. The same reason sometime they run out of the food and cannot meet the demand. I hope the owner give this constructive criticism a thought and be on top of their game as we dont have any other takeaway to rival them in taste.

We were looking for a new Indian to try in Aylesbury since our regular favourite changed chefs and standards changed. We were not disappointed! Salim is a great little find. Yes its only take away and not necessarily aesthetically pleasing (the building) from the outside but the food is excellent. My hubby and I opted for a mutton on the bone and chicken curry. Chana Masala and Mixed veg curry which they were happy to split as a half/half container. Rice & Roti. The curries were very flavoursome, authentic, aromatic, great value for money and very moreish. We will be back! We decided on 4 out of 5 stars however as the curries were very hot/spicy even though we asked if mild/medium so check, maybe ask for a taste before purchasing. I personally couldn't eat all of my portion however my hubby who likes a hot curry devoured it. Also they had more residual oil than other take aways we've tried which leaked everywhere on the journey home. Happy eating!

Food was nice. Not top of the class Asian curry though but not bad as well. 4 to 5 chicken curries, 1 to 2 beaf items on the menu. 4 breads for a quid is cheap. Little space to sit and eat but then it is a take away. You can eat here regularly for 3 to 4 days and then you will develop resistance to the taste. Worth one or two visits. May go again.

We must have walked past this unassuming place a dozen times on the way from the Aylesbury Odeon to where we park our car before we finally went in, intrigued by a sign which read '4 naans or rotis for £1', which made me suspect that Salim's was going to be a bit of a bargain. And so it turned out to be. Last time we went there we spent around £13, which provided copious meals on two separate evenings for the two of us: a very large mutton curry, 3 small vegetable dishes: saag aloo (spinach and potato); dall (lentils); and chana (chick peas); plain rice, with two naans and two rotis. But price is only part of it. Where it really scores is in terms of authenticity. It reminds me of what I used to eat way back at the Lahore Kebab House in the East End of London before it became discovered by a new type of non-asian customer and, gradually, smoothed itself down for British tastes. Mutton (aka 'meat') and chicken are cooked on the bone, since everyone with a working taste bud left knows that's the only way really to get flavour. And the spices used are spot on (as my wife confirms; and she ought to know, having learned to cook south Indian food during six months she spent there back in the 60s). Of course, with just three tiny tables, it only just passes muster as a restaurant, but as a takeway it's as good as any I've ever found anywhere. You can't always be certain of finding everything on the money whenever you turn up since they 'freshly cook up to 6 curry dishes daily from [their] menu on a rotational basis'. But it doesn't matter if what you had in mind isn't available. It is all, I repeat all, delicious.

Wagamama Aylesbury has seriously lost its way. I’ve enjoyed their food in the past, but my recent visit left me baffled and thoroughly disappointed. The food quality has plummeted, and they’re clearly hoping customers won’t notice the mess coming out of their kitchen. I ordered the Hot Honey Fried Chicken, a dish I’ve had before and enjoyed. But this time? It was burned (see pic). Instead of admitting the mistake, they had the nerve to pass it off as char-grilled chicken, hoping I wouldn’t notice. Having had this dish before, it was obvious that they were trying to cover up their botched frying job. The chicken was overcooked, dark, bitter, and completely lacking the usual crispy texture. Even worse, the honey glaze that’s supposed to add a delicious kick seemed thrown on in desperation, as if the sweetness would somehow hide the burnt flavour. Spoiler: it didn’t. The whole dish tasted like an underwhelming, scorched attempt at salvaging ruined fried chicken. Wagamama, if you burn something, own up to it. Don’t insult your loyal customers by passing off a poorly cooked dish as something it’s not. The quality and integrity that once made you a solid choice have gone completely downhill. Until they fix this shocking drop in standards, I’d suggest looking elsewhere for your noodle and rice fix.
