Voujon in Thurrock

This is by far our favourite Indian restaurant. We visit here as often as what we can, either just the two of us or with a group of friends. The staff are friendly and attentive. They always make us feel welcome. The food is outstanding and the portions are generous. The free drink at the end of our meal was a lovely touch and much appreciated. We can highly recommend Voujon Orsett, it is well worth a visit.

Table booked for 7.30 we’re seated at 7.30 our drinks and popadoms came quick and food order taken quickly then the wait a hour and 15 minutes later the food arrived. The service wasn’t good at all the staff seemed miserable and abrupt. Some one in our group ordered the Voujon SPECIAL’ chicken lamb and prawn masala when he got it there was chicken couple of bits of lamb but no prawn we asked the waiter who thought it was a chicken masala, he took the plate tossed the food about a bit and said there’s a prawn and gave the plate back. We will not be going back there use to be nice in there not now. There is plenty more Indian restaurants to go to in Thurrock Voujons loss also we think the waiters are on commission lol all they do is keep asking if you want a drink over and over little bit tedious. Booked a table of 14 for a birthday,the party was split in 2 to make it easier for the bill. First tables food was served,20mins later the 2nd tables food arrived when the others had all ready eaten,which we all would of liked to eaten together as we come as a family,was disappointed as we have had many of family meals here. The service was a bit of hit & miss,all over the show to be honest. Food was ok but will not be booking a meal here again! Service should be on top it's gone downhill.

My first visit to this restaurant left me pleasantly surprised and thoroughly impressed. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and the service was impeccable. The food exceeded my expectations, and as a vegetarian, I was delighted to find a decent variety of options. The drinks menu was also a highlight, especially the cocktails which added an extra touch of enjoyment to the evening. Good food, good service, good drinks—this restaurant has it all, and we will definitely return!

A group of us have been coming for the tribute nights for the past few years (averaging about 12+), always been a great night, having a laugh with the waiters ect Not anymore! Think we’ll be changing venue for our monthly meet up! Waiters rude!!!! Bad service! Sticker on my sliced tomatoe???? Wtf?! Don’t think we’ll be back again! Shame, we’ve had some fantastic nights!

Came here with a few friends. They loved it! Amazing curries as well as having amazing nice friendly staff who want to make you have the best Expierence. Will 100% recommend it to anyone!!!

Horrible long wait for food terrible service and horrible customer service skills will not be going there again

Our first visit to this wonderful Indian restaurant and will certainly be going back. From the minute you walked in the door you were greeted with a smile and taken to a table. There was great choice on the menu and the food was outstanding....

Went for a family birthday meal there tonight only to chew on broken glass in the dessert. All I was told was "sorry, we will knock it off your bill" Flipping joke. They did not give a monkeys. Environmental health have now been advised.

Went to dinner here on Boxing day so they had a deal on. 4 courses for £12.99 The food was ok...my king prawn bhuna wasn't very warm, and didn't taste like Bhunas I have had before

Hola, así que sé que rara vez sentimos la necesidad de dar alimentación negativa. . . Pero me sentí en esta ocasión. El menú que nos dieron la mesa era muy limitado en cuanto a variedad. . . No era un plato principal o que mi esposa y yo nos plantea. . mala elección. . Teniendo en cuenta un buffet. normalmente cuesta alrededor de £10. 00 estoy pagando 50 libras antes de bebidas y extras chocante sentido estafados. El servicio era pobre nuestra primera pedir bebidas. . . . esperamos y esperamos. . el camarero volver con ipad y dijo puedo retomar su orden. . Así que procedió a ordenar bebidas y a mitad de camino a través de nuestra mesa de pedir bebidas el camarero era distraído por algo en otra mesa y uno de mis compañero quede esperando hasta que uno de nosotros musical y dijo mate puede llevar a pedir por favor. . No! Pero no profesionalmente. Cuando la comida llegaba era un caos no había rima o razón siento que si nuestra mesa había sido despejada de algunos de los vasos y cosas general podría haber sido suficiente para todos los platos. . Pero no hay.. . . caos. . Me refiero a los precios de las bebidas chocante. . . pésimo. . . Cuando llegamos a casa estábamos todavía hambre que casi es resumir. . Yo podría haber apostado por una experiencia culinaria en Londres con una botella de champán y tenía más de el dinero que nos costó. . timo. . . Sha no volveremos.. . .

Chose this restaurant again, to celebrate our Son's birthday and opted to eat from the weekly banquet menu. For £12·95 a head, this includes a starter, a main, one side dish and either rice or bread. There was plenty to choose from, the portion sizes were good, and all were well presented...good value for money.We added a few extras and were more than satisfied with the whole meal.This has been one of many visits, since this restaurant opened, and we have never been disappointed with either the food or the service we have received. We look forward to our next visit, whenever that will be.

Went here last night with my best mate & her son. Can honestly say it was the best curry We've ever had!I've eaten in many establishments of the years and eat curry once a week so that's saying something!The service was amazing, polite & humorous members of staff.Food served hot, fresh & extremely tasty. Lovely environment & atmosphere.Will definitely be returning & would highly recommend.

Came here for my birthday and ordered chicken shahslic which was cooked to perfection.Everything was clean, waiters chatty and polite, food outstanding. All lovely and I would come here again and again.Thanks for a lovely meal!

The Voujon is what I would call a 'proper Essex curry house' - and that is a huge compliment.The decor is ostentatious with white faux leather seats and banded lighting that changes colour and the service is full of banter, the waiters take your order via an ipad and they have some electronic thing that has buttons that you can press to order your drinks or bill.I am not sure the food is authentic but it is plentiful and really, really good.I visited with some business colleagues (one of whom was brought up on Bradford curry houses so know's their stuff) and we all enjoyed a brilliant meal.I started with the Voujon mixed starter - the usual suspects of sheek kebab, onion bhaji, chicken tandoori etc was plentiful and really tasty.Then onto chicken korai with rice, naans and chapatis - again plenty of it, well cooked and delicious.All washed down with a couple of cobras - a perfect night out.This place is definitely worth a visit.

I visited this restaurant on a Saturday evening to celebrate my birthday with my family. It was a busy evening but there were a lot of staff available and our order was taken fairly quickly. Forty five minutes later we had still not even been served our starters and had to ask two different waiters. No explanation or apology but we did get our food. This was cleared away and we waited another forty five minutes before we were served our main course. This only got brought out after i had put my coat on and said we were leaving. Again no apology or explanation. The food was lukewarm and bland. Two dishes were sent back as they were stone cold. We noticed other diners also complaining and in the bar area other customers seemed to be waiting ages for takeaway. The waiters seemed to find it all very amusing and the manager simply offered to reduce the bill. I have eaten here before and had nice meals and good service but i won't return. I emailed them the following day and have not yet had a reply. Birthday evening ruined.

One of the best Indian restaurants I have been to, very good food and service. Although they say book they will squeeze you in if possible
