I love this little bistro cafe bar. I haven't eaten here yet but as a couple it's one of my favourite bars. The decor is really cosy and creative inside especially if you like the film Amelie! Look out for the paintings on the wall. The staff are really friendly. I'd say it's the perfect place for a few friends to have a get together. Looking forward to eating here as I've heard good things!

I popped in this evening as I was walking past and liked the look of the place. The gentleman behind the bar (who I believe is the owner) offered me some chorizo lasagne and I'm glad he did because it was delicious! It's a quirky little venue with lots of charm and it really was worthwhile stopping there. The cakes looked lovely as well - just a pity I'm only in the area for a couple of days, otherwise I would definitely be popping in regularly. If you're ever in the area I would suggest you try it. It's small and simple but really nice and the food was great.

My friends and I visited Volpe as a celebration for my birthday. The staff were kind & helpful with our orders when we requested to change them last minute. I ordered the Italian Hot pizza. Although it was very tasty, it went through me like a Porsche and I was still recovering in the early days of March. As I rushed to the men’s room I couldn’t help but be astonished by the pristine toilet seat. It shone like moon in the middle of winter, reflecting on an icy ocean. When my bewilderment had passed I sat on the glorious throne and felt pride while doing so. The seat was not too warm not too cold which is often a problem in less adequate restaurant as it can makes ones undercarriage resemble a extra wrinkly prune. This beautiful bog was reasonably clement. Once I had made an unholy stench, I went to flush (as one should) and the handle was lacking slack in a way that was mildly pleasing for ones soul. Overall I had a very pleasant experience in the Volpe restaurant & will almost surely be returning soon, mainly for the marvellous toilet facilities.

Tucked away on Abbeydale Road is this quaint little Bistro. Beautifully decked out for Christmas and sparkling in fairy lights. We had breakfast here and the pancakes were delicious. Do yourself a favour and pop in here for a coffee when you pass by!

We visited Volpe as part of a slime making children’s party. The host Pete was very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. The pizzas were freshly cooked and delicious. The children (and adults) devoured them! The tea, coffee and cake selection was also very good! Would highly recommend.

We visited Volpe as our daughter had a slime party next door at Frankly my Deer. The coffees were lovely (and I’m a coffee snob!!). We also had lunch here - the volcano breakfast & feta & tomatoes on toast which was delicious. The kids had their afternoon tea as part of their party which they all really enjoyed! We just need to come back to try a bistro night when we get chance!!

I don't understand photos on here and great reviews unless we called at a bad time or different chef. This is a nice location with pleasnt decor. Would be nice for a coffee and cake in the daytime. Pleasnt staff. Service very slow. Very limited menue. Specials board only had one item... soup. Really wanted to love this place as it looks great and is local to us. Starter of whitebait OK but heavy coating and overcooked. Not many and a small starter for £7.95. Artisan breads lovely but very small for price as only 4 small pieces of bread and small amount of oil premixed with balsamic. Salad again OK but overpriced. Remember this location is not Ecclesall Rd, but it's price point is. Meatballs tasted good although served in an inappropriate dish more suited to mussels or fine dining than a pasta dish, hence a small portion and some were raging hot and some tepid so I guess microwaved. Not served as pics on here in a rustic dish with bread. Crispella was very sloppy and again raging hot with no tell tale signs of being near an oven, (no crisping/burning at edges of dish or crust) pretty sure microwaved. It was a special occasion for us and I didn't want to spoil it with complaining as the service was so slow it would have been ridiculously time consuming to do so and things should be simply right when served. Customers shouldn't have to create. The one waiter was nice and the place is lovely, with bring your own wine a bonus and with the lovely rustic food pics on here we were surprised that we came away simply not understanding our experience of this place???

Very nice decor atmosphere and most importantly the food was sublime. Staff very attentive to your needs, buy one get one free? How can they do that and make a living? One of my favourite places as of now

I’ve been here a few times and normally can’t recommend it more but had a disappointing experience tonight. It took nearly 40 minutes for us just to get our drinks and we had to ask for cutlery when our pizzas arrived. It was quite disappointing as it was supposed to be a celebration and we had prebooked a table.

We were a group of 7 and there were only 5 other diners in the restaurant at the time of our visit. The service was poor, the waiter was unable to answer questions on the dishes and the restaurant was cold. We had starters and mains. We all felt that the food was at best lukewarm, was tasteless and bland with the tomato bruschetta, risottos, chicken melissa and mash potato receiving the biggest criticism. Desserts were declined by all of us due to the meals being so bad. Would not recommend this restaurant.

Had a light dinner here sat outside by the canal, both had the garlic mushroom truffle loaded fries which I thought maybe a bit pricey at £9.50, but when i saw the portion size and so tasty, I changed my mind, good value! Had a Camden Pale Ale which was ok but not my favourite tipple. Chap who served was pleasant and friendly, nice place for a bite to eat by the canal
