Volare in Kirklees

We went to Volare for date night, and it definitely didn’t disappoint. We went for tapas, and decided on 8 dishes to share between us. The garlic mushrooms were INCREDIBLE, as mushroom lovers these were right up our alley. The sauce that they came with was divine. The only improvement for this dish would be that it should come with a piece of bread/pitta so that you don’t waste any of that beautiful cream sauce. The calamari was so crispy and fresh it was unbelievable, highly recommend this one to any seafood lover. Regarding seafood, the tiger prawns in garlic and chilli oil was another big hit on the table, to the point we were fighting over the last one! These prawns were so juicy, flavourful and the perfect addition to a tapas menu. The paella (oh my goodness the paella!) is an absolute staple to the Spanish culture, and it was executed brilliantly. The rice was perfect and the chicken and chorizo just added even more flavour. We doesn’t love a bit of squeaky cheese? If you do, then I can’t recommend this dish more. The crisp on the cheese was incredible and the jam just made it better. This is every cheese lovers dream, as long as you don’t eat it too late 😂 The spicy chicken was another big hit, the spice was so flavourful with a lovely kick at the end. The pomegranate seeds added a slight sweetness that just elevated the dish to a perfect level. This was our wild card choice, something that we’ve never seen on a tapas menu, and it certainly paid off. Finally, the tapas staples. The paths braves and tzatziki were brilliant. The perfect sides to such flavourful dishes. The tzatziki was dipped into and used throughout the entire meal as it added the perfect cool and crisp flavour. And the braves were crispy and coated in the most beautiful sauce. All in all, this place exceeded expectations even though our expectations were already high. It is a lovely place for family meals, date nights and catch ups. The staff and atmosphere were brilliant. I can highly recommend and it’s safe to safely we will definitely be back! We’re even luckier that it’s only a walk away!

Consistently lovely food that never disappoints. Always a good atmosphere and always feel welcomed and looked after. Been visiting since it was located under the Queens pub and never had a bad meal.

We ordered food to take away for our 12th wedding anniversary. It did not disappoint!! Every single dish wash amazing. The children loved it and my son even said that is the best halloumi I've ever had. The staff are super helpful and always go the extra mile. We were given a free garlic pizza bread with our order which was delicious. We love take away from Volare as an alternative to eating out as it feels really special. Delicious!!

My partner and myself love coming here for tapas. Last night we invited our friends along and after a few drinks in the Tipsy cow (a lovely bar very close by) we were welcomed by Nicola. We shared lots of amazing dishes and the service was great. Staff all so friendly and helpful and lots of young people who did a fantastic job . This is the second couple we have introduced to Volare and both couples have been blown away and have said they will return. Never fails to impress. We wiii be back!

Food was 10/10 had the tapas selected 8 dishes between 2 every one was fantastic, wine was lovely staff were so welcoming and polite will defo go back, best tapas weve had to date and tried a fair few of tripadvisers best places

Another first class visit to Volate. Nicola and Martin are a top team and create a great dining experience. If you’ve not tried Volare yet you must. A range of tasty dishes, served by an amazing team, in a lovely atmosphere. Well done Volare!

Volare is a very special place and if I hadn't of moved to Skelmanthorpe I would never have known about it. It is so good a visit has to be made every month and sometimes weekly for a cheeky takeaway. Where to start... From the quality of the food where everything is homemade from scratch, to the presentation both of the food and inside the restaurant, the friendly owners in Martin and Nicola and of course the staff who all play their part in creating a fantastic restaurant where to be honest every tapas and pizza dish is consistently delicious and of a high standard. I tell everyone about Volare as we are so lucky to have it in Skelmanthorpe. They also employ in most cases students and give them their first job. Which is a brilliant thing to do and only adds to their reputation.

We failed to get any late table bookings in December which was our fault due to last minute decisions! Fantastic that Volare was so busy. We made up for it last Friday and had a fabulous meal of all our Tapas favourites! Highly recommend the halloumi, gambas pil pil, calamari, chicken chermoula, lentils and of course chips! Great customer service as always we look forward to our next visit

What more could you want? Proper food prepared and served with love. We had a selection of dishes and they were all quite varied but delicious. How fortunate are we having a real restaurant to visit rather than chain establishments serving homogenised microwave rubbish .

We have not been able to visit Volare for a few years but the experience was just as great. The food, atmosphere and service is excellent. Martin and Nicola are just the best hosts and extremely amenable people. We live in Kent and visit family in the vicinity whenever we can. The restaurant has been updated and looks very nice and the food is great and very tasty, would definitely recommend eating here.

Once again Nicola and her team were amazing. We’ve been going for many years and have never had a bad meal or bad service. The ribs are fabulous and worth every penny. Thanks again Team Volare and can’t wait to come back again soon.

Absolutely beautiful place the whole vibe and people surrounding it is impeccable and the service is absolutely amazing was served by 2 lads called Ben and Freddy very positive and outgoing people I would definitely recommend coming to Volare the owners Nicola and Martin are lovely which makes the place so much better please give it a visit you won’t be disappointed

Volare is a gem of a restaurant with perfect pizza, tapas to die for and the most amazing staff. We booked in for a Friday night date and had the most amazing time soaking up the atmosphere. The wait staff were attentive but didn’t rush us, we enjoyed some gin and tonics, the bbq chicken pizza and a selection of tapas. Volare’s tapas are the best in Yorkshire!Save some room for pudding - you will not be disappointed!

Visited on a busy Saturday with Daughter & Son in Law.A 1st class experience with excellent food,wine & service,could have done with more room on table but that was probably due to us ordering lots of plates! You are spoilt for choice. Hope to visit again in the future>

Having had an amazing takeaway for our daughters 18th last month, lockdown easing meant we could visit for our wedding anniversary.Great hosting with special anniversary tomato garlic bread which is delicious.Went Tapas with 11 dishes for the 4 of us, the lemon chicken, paella, halloumi and the chorizo in red wine were our favourites. Chocolate and chilli ice cream, choc brownie and a very nice liqueur coffee finished the meal off. Couple of drinks each through the meal and at circa £25 a head felt like a real treat.Been coming to Volare since it first opened in Scissett many many years ago, great ambience and delighted to see it open again.

We ordered a take away ( last minute ) and was certainly not disappointed with our meal , on time as always , fresh and beautifully cooked , can’t wait for the restaurant to open as we certainly will be back .

Not long now before we can experience the welcome atmosphere of the restaurant but for now we continue to recommend the take away service. Subtle changes to the menu keep us trying new dishes the one constant is that they are all delicious. Thank you team Volare

Such a reliable restaurant. We've been going since the early days and Nicola's friendly and professional front of house manner is complimented so well with Martin's decades of experience producing such tasty fare.As well as our "favourites" we tried a couple of new additions to the take away menu tonight - how can a tuna and bean salad be made so tasty? - by delicious dressing, and the chicken liver pate with just the right amount of pitta was an absolute joy.So pleased you guys are working hard and keeping going. You know we'll all be queuing up for a "sit down" again as soon as we can. Thanks all xx

We decided that for our last takeaway before moving home in February we would go back to our favourite. We weren’t disappointed, starters, tapas and pizza all delicious, in fact we had some left for lunch the next day. I must admit to being a little emotional about it being our last takeaway night and it was lovely to be served by Nicola. The arrangements for ordering and collection are spot on, very COVID secure, and the food is brilliant as always. We will be back once we move back to the area but thank you.

We visited Volare as part of our weekend long wedding celebrations in May 2019. I'm not sure why I haven't left a review before now but heyho. We were a party of 18 and everything was amazing. Nicola and the team pulled out all the stops to make it a special occasion and nothing was too much trouble. Lovely food, lovely atmosphere and outstanding hospitality. I hope you soon get to reopen the doors and have the opportunity to continue in your good work. We have been regulars at Volare for the takeouts right the way through since March. I would like to comment on the quality of the tapas, we had a late collection slot on Christmas Eve and thoroughly enjoyed everything we had ordered! The skill in getting a lovely crunch on the halloumi when you have transported it home is amazing all credit to the chefs and all the team at Volare- enjoy your short break and we will be back to enjoy your lovely food soon!

We had heard good things from friends and family so decided to give it a go and we are so glad we did!Ordered as a takeaway via Facebook. Staff were very friendly and helpful during ordering. When we picked up we felt very safe and it was well organised.We went for tapas, picked about 8 dishes between two. It was delicious ! All the food was nice and hot and we both enjoyed it. Dont think we said two words to each other whilst eating. Already booked again for over the festive period.Can't wait till we can experience the food in the restaurant as well.

I have just had a take away for the first time from Volare. I absolutely love the food when I can dine in but I also loved it just as much from the comfort of my own home. I booked for my family having thoroughly enjoyed their take away food through lockdown. I mentioned in passing it was my sons birthday whilst checking his dietary needs could be met (he's gluten free). Throughtout the visit they made a real fuss of him & made our visit really special. The ambience was warm & cosy, the food was delicious with GF options, vegan and lots of veggie options and the service was so friendly we felt like part of the family. So good we booked straight away for my birthday!

Not had anywhere near enough takeouts from this wonderful establishment. 2 pasta dishes and a dessert midweek, what a treat. (2 of us, honest!)Only issue is that the girlfriend has worked out that clams are amazing. There’s no way I’ll get away with not sharing any more! Can we please book a table for Sunday lunch!

You MUST try the tomato garlic bread...essential for any visit to Volare.I ordered Libre penne, a vegetarian option. Always arrives nicely presented and tastes just wonderful...creating those moments where you have to put your knife & fork down just to sit with the flavours for a few moments more.The staff are attentive and influenced in a positive way by Nicolas high customer service standards.Finished off with authentic Baklva and ice cream, and a limoncello. Our visit was just delightful.5⭐ recommendation

After having several takeaways during lockdown my wife and I dined in at Volare last Saturday. As usual the food ( a selection of Tapas) was exceptional. The Covid 19 measures that were in place made us feel very safe without detracting from the usual superb atmosphere of the restaurant. Nicola (FOH/Owner) ensured that the young staff were efficient and creating the usual quirky Volare ambience.As we were leaving Nicola thanked for our continued support - well, support is a two way thing and we would like to thank all the staff at Volare for giving us a couple of hours of relaxation and superb food.

First visit in a long while to celebrate a family birthday! My daughter was made to feel special from the moment we walked in the door!We felt safe as all the precautions where in place and the restaurant was spotless. The tapas was beautiful! The whole menu looked lovely! The end of the meal was finished off with birthday song sparkler by the staff! We will defiantly be back! Fantastic family run business in a very local village! We have been many times since lockdown ended, with family and as a couple.Safety measures put in place are second to none. Feel totally safe and as usual staff are friendly, welcoming and food incredible. Only problem we have is.... we always pick Tapas plates, but we want to try other main meals but the Tapas are just too nice!!!

We have had 3 takeaways from Volare since lockdown began and all have been delicious! Having a newborn, it isn't easy for us to get out for an evening meal at the moment so the takeaways have been the next best thing. Just as yummy as the food in the restaurant and always hot when we get them home. They have an extensive takeaway menu and each dish is homemade with fantastic flavours! We can't wait for our next one and also our next restaurant visit. All collections were socially distanced and we have always had superb customer service when ordering via messenger. Definitely recommend! (We especially love the tapas!)

I've reviewed Volare before, I admit. But I wanted to review them again because the way they have adapted to the current situation is so impressive. The precautions they have in place for takeaway are above and beyond anything I've seen anywhere else. They are now open for eat in - and going to such lengths to keep customers safe here too. The food is as good or even better than usual. Fantastic Tapas, and great pizza. Staff always smiley in spite off the tough times. They deservedly have a loyal customer base, and I hope they continue to be well supported - they deserve to be.

My husband and I and our 2 little girls had a delicious meal here this weekend. The tapas were so yummy, friendly service, clean and lovely atmosphere. We can’t wait to return in a few weeks.

We have been using the takeaway option at Volare on a regular basis. This weekend we visited the restaurant and had a fantastic meal of clam linguine and prawn sagnaki- the tables have been separated and tables and chairs are cleaned down as soon as people leave. The new front of house team are all working hard and learning skills taught by the ever patient Nicola. Thank you team Volare we are so lucky to have you!

What a fantastic meal we had to celebrate, on a smaller scale, a family birthday and mum’s first time out since before lockdown. As always the food was brilliant (beef Pepe- heaven), we had a mix of tapas and pizzas and everything was absolutely delicious. Easy ordering and payment and contactless timed collection - all super organised. Thank you again!

This was our very first family takeaway during this pandemic & oh my word,from booking to ordering to collection Volare cannot be faulted. The difficult part was choosing as they all sounded so delicious!!...the children had pizza's & we had the tapas (sorry no pic as we forgot with all the gorgeous aroma's going on) and what a treat it was awesome from start to finish a real gem!!

I have never written a review before but we've just had our second takeaway from Volare tonight and wanted to say how much we have enjoyed it. We ordered one a couple of weeks ago which we loved and tonight was fantastic also! The service has been great and as a family of four with an 8 and 11 year old, there was something on the menu for everyone. The Leonardo pizza went down a storm with everyone, there were favourites like the calamari and the meatballs and everything was delicious. We didn't use Volare as a take away before but am looking forward to the next one. I would have shared a photograph, but everything was eaten before I could think of it. Perhaps the next time! This has been a real treat.

Volare is one of our favourite restaurants to visit, however due to the current situation we have being enjoying regular take out meals and the food & service is always excellent. We live a ten min drive away and the food is still hot & fresh by the time we are home, cannot fault it. Thank you guys.

We had a tapas takeaway meal this evening for four people. The food was absolutely delicious. We eat there regularly, & the takeaway food was just as good. We live at least a 20 minute drive from Skelmanthorpe & it was still hot and beautifully presented. We all ordered different dishes , every one was delighted with their food. We also ordered a jug of sangria, it even came with a container of beautiful fruits and a bag of ice . There is a Well organised plan for collection is in place during Covid 19. 10/10 xx

We had now had a couple of takeaways from Volare during lockdown and we are so happy to have found them. My husband and I are Working our ways through the tapas menu and they have all been beautiful. Our pizza loving girls have not been let down at all and they LOVE the pizzas the bases are fantastic. Once lockdown ends we cannot wait to visit the restaurant as you have made lockdown so much easier for us. My daughter and I have had a Volares takeout now for the third Saturday running. We have tried lots of different dishes. We especially like the chips and Beef Pepe. The Halloumi is also delicious. We look forward to our Saturdays and having a Volares for tea. We both really recommend the food from Volares.

We decided to try Volare’s takeaway service during lockdown as I was very impressed with their Facebook page and efforts that they put into maintaining social distancing. We haven’t had tapas as a family before, maybe due to young children but we’re so pleased we did! We ordered pizza for the children and ordered quite a few different dishes for ourselves. It was a welcome change from cooking ourselves and even better to see the kids trying new food. I’d especially recommend the ribs, the calamari and the halloumi.

During the lockdown it's nice to have something a bit different as we couldn't go out for our anniversary. Unfortunately what started as a lovely romantic meal for two ended up with all the family being fed, that's 5 extra 18 - 23 year olds! But volare where great and catered for us all at the same pick up time. Will use again.

If you fancy a delicious treat you really must try the takeaway menu from Volare in Skelmanthorpe. This family run restaurant has adapted to a takeaway during the lockdown . The food is excellent, we love the Tapas menu and it is very well organised you put in your order someone contacts you for payment and gives you a time for collection. Fabulous service 5* . Hope by doing this they will reopen stronger than ever once life gets back to normal .

I'm lucky enough to live down the road and although I don't eat here regularly, it is a "go to place" for good quality, great value delicious food. During the lockdown we wanted to support local businesses as much as possible and Volare did not disappoint!

We had a lovely take away tapas from Volare last week. The food was as lovely as we normally get In the restaurant. Carefully packaged and still hot each dish was a treat. So nice to have something to look forward to during this time. Thank you all at Volare.

Visited tonight with my partner after being recommended by a friend, we left in lovely moods having eaten gorgeous food in a stunning place with a great atmosphere! Portions were brilliant, we both were extremely full and were both foodies, the staff were friendly and very efficient, a lovely little place in Huddersfield!

Moved to the area a few years ago and my friend told us about this place. The food, service and ambience is always fantastic. Never had a bad meal, it’s always busy on a weekend so book up! Well done Nicola and her team x

Excellent service and tasty, great quality shellfish at this little gem, in my local village. The staff are attentive and the owner is always friendly and caring about the experience of the customer.

Group of us enjoyed a rare get together. Perfect location. The food was excellent with great choice. Friendly service and comfortable atmosphere. Well worth a visit if you have never been.

We were without a booking and were welcomed warmly and given a table quickly despite it looking fully booked. We had a fantastic 8 course tapas and enjoyed every single dish. We will be sure to return!!
