Mezze in Kirklees

The food is always fantastic at Mezze and I've eaten in with friends but I also like that I can order takeout in advance and pick it up.

The food was excellent and plenty of it (party of 6). Unfortunately that’s where the good stuff about this place ends. One of our party required gluten free and the servers failed to inform us which dishes were suitable. We had to ask several times before one of them checked with the kitchen. Owner was rude, not once but twice. Obviously we should have known that half our party was downstairs when we were told to go upstairs 🤨. We had one person drop out last minute and would happily have paid for their share but instead the owner huffed and puffed complaining that we should have let them know, so we didn’t offer. Treat your customers better - they keep you in business.

I cannot for the life of me understand how this place gets any decent reviews Alwyas found the food and service decidedly average, at best One thing it is though and that's overpriced, £25 per head for decidedly average fayre served in extremely small quantites, we left almost as hungry as when we arrived ! To cap it all the owner is rude and it seems, could not care less, no wonder hes decided to sell it !! Lets hope the new owners know more about cust service than the current chap although we wont be bothering to find out.

I turned up and the waitress was very polite, The flatbread was amazing and had a lot of flavour, definately worth the price,the calamari rings had the perfect crisp and flavour, The curry was also very flavourful, would definately order again, the only thing is the greyish male server was a little bit rude when bringing the food out, he just came and placed on the table and I went to ask for a new fork and he just walked away, I had to recall over a woman who was very polite and appologised for the inconvinience, I then got a funny look from the guy who brought my food

Absolutely amazing food. Been here a fair few times and always had a fantastic experience. The food is out of this world and reasonably priced. I love the atmosphere and the staff are always friendly and attentive.. The owner is absolutely brilliant, such a laugh, makes for a great night out. Our favourite place to eat.

We celebrated the New Year at Mezze, the food was absolutely beautiful and the atmosphere was perfect. Although it was extremely busy the service was great and the host made us feel so welcome. A fantastic place to bring in the New Year and I can heartily recommend Mezze.

This is our second visit to Meze in 6 months and it did not disappoint. We wanted somewhere fabulous to eat before going to the Picturedone and we again struck gold. Each course was well cooked and very tasty. I only wish I lived closer so I could justify visiting more often. Until next time

We booked a family gathering for our Grandson's Birthday. We chose to have the Mezze it was a good choice, we were given a list and asked if we didnt like sonething put a cross against it. We had a good selection of dishes dips and pitta breads to start and then the dishes kept coming veggie. Fish, meat our Grandson mentioned he liked meatballs and was rewarded with a dish of his own. Absolutely impeccable food, very wide rang of dishes to satisfy the needs and wants of everyone who will visit. Bar staff are great and we were never left without something to nibble on as we got on with our drinks. Super chilled vibe, potentially the best restaurant I’ve ever visited 10/10.

Due to current restrictions had a Mezze takeout last night. 5 of us shared a number of dishes which were all delicious. Some of our regular favourites are the lamb curry, crispy potatoes, beetroot and feta to name a few, but we also tried the Persian wings and harissa prawns this evening which both proved to be good choices. We will be back (though hopefully in the restaurant) soon.

A regular visitor which speaks volumes. In these unprecedented times you feel safe, the staff friendly and welcoming, the food is always fabulous and the atmosphere like the good old days. Strongly recommend.

After visiting Mezze a few times and really enjoying it, my friend and I went back to celebrate a birthday. On arrival we were quite shocked that the layout of the restaurant was the same as pre-COVID, which if you’ve been there before will know that consists of high tables back to back with no proximity at all, definitely not a meter. However, as I’ve previously worked in hospitality before, we thought we’d let it slide as we both really sympathise with the hardship that all restaurants and bars, especially in our particular area, are going through. Food was great as usual, however there seemed to be a man on the table behind us, who continued to walk amongst all the tables in the restaurant, stand up, touch all customers and staff, be very loud, and really quite rude. We both tried to ignore him, however as it’s a very small we could barely hear each-other over his voice. None of the staff asked him to sit down, nor mingle with other tables, which was very surprising as this is currently against the law.Eventually, when one customer confronted him about the COVID rules, this man began to get very aggressive and argumentative, to which the staff were very hesitant to get involved, until the customer on the receiving end of this argument asked to leave. I do hope this particular man felt very ashamed of himself. We both feel very sorry for the financial hardship that Mezze must be going through, however unfortunately at this time the safety and well-being of their customers should be a priority over anything.If you are concerned about COVID, then I would not recommend going here.

My wife and I stayed in Holmfirth for a staycation mid-October 2020, we stopped by Mezze for dinner after seeing the many great reviews on this website. We can confirm that the restaurant lives up to the hype! The staff are really welcoming, friendly, and helpful. The owner stopped by to ask how everything was too. The food was absolutely fantastic; fresh ingredients and attention to detail. If this was local to us, this restaurant be our regular! Thanks Mezze!

Visited as a group of 5, the sharing menu was perfect a great mix from tapenade, to pork, beautiful cod fillets, king prawns and spicy pork (Beckri mezes??), a few beers and lovely wine. All very sociable.Thank you for a great evening, we certainly weren't hungry when we left!

I’m guessing it was the chefs night off, because the food was terrible. Beer was good though. It’s just not fair to serve sub standard food. I won’t be going back.

Mezze is one of our very favourite restaurants in holmfirth. The food is always great and there is always a lovely buzzing atmosphere. The house wine is great and a reasonable price compared to some other places in the area.
