Attractive and tasty food, quick, efficient service, nice atmosphere. I thoroughly recommend this place.

This was our first time visiting the restaurant, staff were very friendly and attentive. Food tasted great. The portion size of the pasta was good however my partner had a steak and this was fairly small along with the accompaniments. We ordered chocolate profiteroles to share thinking that you would receive 4/5 in a portion.. the portion came as two normal sized profiteroles, we felt the price was a little steep for this dessert. Despite the portion sizes we did have a pleasant experience here.

I went here last night with my family for my birthday. It was my first time at the restaurant and I couldn’t believe I hadn’t been before. The food was amazing , it all came out hot (Which most other places you know it’s been sitting on the hot plate for) and fresh. The pizzas were the best I’ve had in a long time! We asked for a few ingredient swaps and the waiter was more than ok with this, which was nice. He was lovely to us and had the same manner to all others coming in which was nice to hear around the restaurant. This is now definitely one of my favourite restaurant around here. We will be back very soon.

went for husbands birthday mid October mid week, was busy just the owner and Maria working. It was very welcoming and service was fantastic. Choice on menu was really good considering lots of menus can be limited atm. Food was incredible the best meal we had had for a long time. The chicken liver starter is melt in your mouth! If your a foodie you will love it here. very reasonable too. Would definitely recommend.

A superb place to eat. Although the menu is not over extensive, it does contain delicious sounding meals. They sound delicious and they are! Chicken livers in a superb sauce ; soup to die for followed by excellent steak in an equally super sauce. The atmosphere was good and the service was exceptional. We cannot wait to visit this little gem again.

What a fabulous place and superb food and service. Everything was very fresh and they changed dishes when we asked for something a little different. Beautiful wine, cannot remember name, a light fruity white. Our waiter had a lovely smile and very experienced.

I had never been before but went with my partner who lives in Welwyn, wow what fabulous food an wine. I had extremely fresh squid to start followed by an equally fresh spaghetti vongole... Delicious and highly recommended

We stopped at Vida for lunch on our way to Harry Potter tour and it was such a great meal! Thank you to the other reviewer that said the calamari was great as we read it, had it and totally agree! Garlic bread also dreamy and the whole family loved their meals. The pasta is very fresh and authentically Italian. Staff were polite and attentive and although it's small, covid measures are in place and it's very clean. We were running late so let them know and they were lovely and friendly. My only downside was we were unable to leave a tip on the card machine and we really wanted to as food and service was fantastic. I hope we pass through again some time and will bring cash for that - thanks Vita.

The lady serving us (I won't name names here but from a quick search it seems she's one ot the owners) was incredibly rude and dismissive from the get go. Even asking simple questions about allergens would get abrupt responses. Saying "it's a kitchen" is not an appropriate way to warn someone about cross contamination. The food was good but that was about it. Portions were small, and expensive for the amount of food. After we were given the dessert menu, a few seconds later the rude lady came back rushing us to order. When we asked for a bit longer to decide, she told us she needed the table back by 9pm (in 15 minutes). We had a 7;30 booking and were never told that we only had 1.5 hours. They are obviously just trying to milk everything they can by having a quick turnaround. We told her that we were never made aware of any time limits and she argued back lying that she did tell us. Then she stomped away and came back and admitted that she in fact did NOT tell us about the time limit. But she didn't try to rectify it. They were clearly making it up as they went along. We ended up just getting the bill and leaving as fast as we could. We didn't feel welcome there. If you are reading this, go to Aqua a few doors down, don't make the mistake of going to Vita! In fact, you'd probably get better service at McDonald's WGC!

A lovely setting but disappointing. No dry rose available by the glass. Calamari nice. Pasta dish not good. Coffee nice. Service good and organisation for Covid great.

I have been living in the Hertfordshire area for over 2 years and nothing could quite match my local Italian back at home in the south of England. After putting up with nasty chains and small portions for two years my girlfriend suggested we tried vita and let me just say my god this is by far the best food I have eaten anywhere around ever!. Incredible service incredible food and brilliant ambiance.

For me a good restaurant is one that sets out a high standard for it's food and ensures customers recieve same quality with every meal. Our starters, mains and the beautiful homemade desert ticked all the boxes. Amazing food served in a timely manner on a Saturday night. And it didn't stop at the food. On my first visit at Vita i soon felt i had known the staff for years. Excellent service throughout the meal. I will definetly keep this place under my radar. And thank you to all the staff for the memorable meal.

Situated on the high street this restaurant is nice and cosy, I believe there are tables upstairs too so it is deceptively spacious.Service is friendly and attentive. The atmosphere inside is good. We all had different pastas and they were all very good. The gentleman that served us (I assume is the owner) took time to offer recommendation and suggestions to make the dish even more flavoursome (making it a little spicy).We had a great meal and will definitely return.

What a lovely place for lunch! Friendly and welcoming staff. It felt like a family run restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious. I had a pizza which was very tasty but enormous, so make sure you bring your appetite! I would definitely visit again.

Met a friend for lunch here. I had to leave a review! Great value at £12.95 I think for a drink (we had house wine) any pizza, pasta or salad and a coffee. My sicilian pasta dish was absolutely delicious! My friend also raved about her risotto. Ingredients are tasty and very fresh, great flavours. Definitely recommend and will be returning again soon!

There were five in our party for dinner. Four of us had home-made pizzas and one had Venezuela Salmon. All the dishes were nicely cooked, well presented and tasty. All the desserts were delicious especially the home-made tiramisu. We will come again.

I'd been to Vita many times before, with friends, with family, and consistently Vita has been a great restaurant choice, excellent delicious food, very friendly staff, and few nice surprises along the way, options like the famous Brazilian cheese bread, which they prepare in a very special way.

We ate dinner with some friends. Super staff, friendly ambiance and lovely food. The pasta dish , Carbonara was done to perfection, the pasta with sea food went down a treat. Lovely bottle of wine. we ate up stairs where the tables are not too close.

I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The food is always top quality and delicious. Having visited Vita on many occasions I have always been impressed and received the best service possible. I would without doubt recommend vita to anybody. A credit to Welwyn village and anybody visiting. I would dine here everyday without hesitation. The service is very attentive and great value for money. I am always made to feel very special and leave feeling very satisfied. I am looking forward to my next Vita experience.

Very cramped for space, we had to duck and dive every time people went pass. It’s more like a cafe than a restaurant.

Without booking called in for lunch given their "deal" for £12.95. One main, a drink and coffee or tea afterwards - we chose Calzone and spaghetti linguini as mains with both very good, hot and tasty, qwith non-alcoholic drinks and followed by coffee. Friendly service despite being pretty busy and overall good value.

Visited here on Friday night and by luck we walked in off the street and got the very last table. It was my first visit to this restaurant so I didn’t know what to expect. After looking at the menu I decided to go for the pan fried chicken livers and my partner had the tomato soup, my chicken livers were amazing, very tender and full of flavour, my partner said her soup was also delicious. Now on to the mains and with all the choice there was on the menu we both chose the king prawn risotto and I’m so please I did as it was probably one of the best risotto dishes I’ve ever tasted, the prawns and the rice were cooked absolutely perfectly. A fantastic place with great waiting staff, The owner spoke to us and it was clear how passionate he was about the food he was serving, really really refreshing to be somewhere where the staff genuinely want you to enjoy your dining experience. Will definitely be going back in the very near future.

Fantastic restaurant with very knowledgeable attentive friendly staff. I love seafood and had the seafood linguine - cleared the plate! as with the rest of my table who ordered different meals!! served piping hot and whenever i wanted a drink they served quickly.

I booked this at last minute as a first date - and informed the restaurant of this. They found us a nicely placed table by the window - and as an early booking, we knew from the outset that they wanted the table back for 8. But they pulled out all the stops to make sure we had a good time.

Me and my family went to an Italian style restaurant in Welwyn called Vita, the staff were great and we thoroughly enjoyed it I ate all of my calzone, the calamari was great we will definitely visit again. I give this a 5/5 because it couldn't get any better.

A family of six which included two children went on Sunday afternoon. We all enjoyed our starters and main courses which included pizza, lasagne, and sea food linguine. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Well worth a visit if your in the area.

My wife and I called, un-booked, for dinner having only a main course and a drink each. Mains were both Veal, Valdostana and Saltimbooca respectively and both wonderful, tasty and delicately flavoured. Service was prompt and friendly and the toilets are all on the ground floor. Good value at a little over £40 excluding tip.

Good table lay-out, friendly staff and very good food. Ample portions, if anything too much main course and not enough room for a dessert! No air-conditioning so the open door let in many flies - unwelcome guests when you have a nice meal in front of you. Small glass of wine included in set menu, emphasis on the small!

What a fantastic find. Absolutely love this place. The food is great and nice size portions. It gives you a feeling of homely cooking. Staff are amazing singing away to some great 80s background music. I was given a free bottle of beer on arrival due to it being Father’s Day ( nice touch). I will definitely be going back very soon.

Yes the food was good, served in quite generous portions by friendly and attentive staff. I just had the feeling they could do better - why not 'artisan' breads (rather than off the supermarket shelf, sliced bloomer) with olive oil & balsamic; speed up the service - waiting for the mains seemed overly long; always serve the drinks from a tray rather than sometimes juggling several full glasses by hand; change the background music from 80's pop to something more up to date and befitting an Italian restaurant? Little things maybe but these times are challenging for the sector and all need to be on top of their game.

It is some time since we last ate here and, as previously, we were not disappointed.No booking but able to accept us and our two mains, Vitello Saltimbocca and Pollo e Patate were excellent with wonderful sauces and more than adequate with only saute potatoes as a supplied side dish. Wide choice of desserts, in or case profiteroles and affogata. Friendly service and overall, with drinks, excellent value for money. Toilets are on the ground floor and clean and tidy.

I visited Vita Ristorante Italiano for a family reunion. I was not disappointed. We were made very welcome and were shown upstairs where they had laid a table for 14 people. The staff were very accommodating and the food was so good. Will definitely return!!

Arrived without booking and no problem being seated, though a relatively small restaurant. Staff friendly and prompt service and a tasty starter of crostini mozzarella followed by an excellent Pollo e patate (chicken) and vitello saltimbucca (veal) for my wife, both piping hot and delicately cooked with particularly flavoursome sauces. New York cheesecake and profiteroles afterwards and overall good value for some £60 without tip.

This is my new favourite Italian restaurant. It is small, very friendly and the food is outstanding. There is a great atmosphere inside, the staff are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the food they serve. The food itself is so tasty and fresh. I can not recommend Vita highly enough.

Visited one day after valentines day with my girlfriend, and couldn't be happier, Food was delicious, service very focus providing great atmosphere. Vita is the cheery of the cake at Welwyn village, Defo recommend.

Visited with another couple who are local to the area on a Wednesday evening. The signs were good as the restaurant gradually became full with customers. Staff attentive and smartly attired giving a excellent service. Food was promptly served piping hot and of reasonable portion size. I had a very good liver in sauce starter followed by a good chicken pasta dish. All four of us agreed the food was of a very high quality and a cut above the fare served in most Italian restaurants we have visited. Well worth a visit.

Visited late Sunday afternoon with some of the family. Everyone enjoyed the food and hospitality from starters onwards.

I booked a table for 5 as a surprise for my daughters birthday on a Monday. The food was fantastic and all cooked fresh. Service was perfect, not slow but never hurried so we could take our time and such friendly staff. Wine not over priced and a free glass for the birthday girl. Considering the quality I was surprised at how reasonable the bill was. This will go on our list of restaurants to visit regularly and take friends.

Today I went to vita with my brother and two parents. First off, the service was excellent with joyful waiters ☺️. The atmosphere was amazing like a family together. When the pizza was given my mouth watered, but the only downside was the oregano on top because I don't like it. The prices for the drinks were near about on point and overall me and the family had a good night!

Really good food had a seafood risotto big portions lots of seafood. Staff was really nice also. Was good price £35.00 for two people

The spot has been recommended by my friend. The service was nice and attentive, the restaurant downstairs felt a bit cramped but we got a table without a reservation, so cannot complain. We got shared starters and a pasta dish each. The food was nice. I was surprised as I belive the pasta was from the packet. To be fair it never said "homemade" on the menu but I kind of expected it when choosing tagliatelle. I would go back to try something different.

Visited for a quick lunch break. We were greeted by who I can only assume was the owner, it was very friendly and welcoming. Shortly after going in a few more people came in for their lunch, they must have been regulars as one even said the usual seat please! The sign of a good eatery!!! Service was very good and were were all done within 40mins. The food was lovely, we both had pasta and a soft drink which on the lunch time special menu is £11.45 per head which I feel for the quality and quantity of food is superb. Within the price you also get a tea or coffee to finish!! Will certainly be eating there again

We regularly come to Vita for dinner. It's always very high quality in terms of food, service and choice. The personnel are so friendly and attentive. Absolutely adore the arrancini!

Came here for a family dinner and really appreciated the considerate staff. They offered us a table downstairs due to a large party upstairs and were very quick with menus and service. The menu is very varied and I'd wager that even the fussiest water could find something to their liking.

My family and I love Vita. Simple as. It is our favourite restaurant around; not just for the food (which is excellent) but for the atmosphere and the brilliant team.

We had a meal here last weekend, it was our first visit to the restaurant, and it was most definitely most enjoyable. The restaurant is small, but most definitely feels private and intimate. The tiramisu is authentic, delicious and sublime. If fact, all of the food was delicious. The evening here was absolutely lovely

Visited for Sunday Lunch and have to agree with a previous reviewer the place was very warm. We had the Fegatini and the Arancini for starters which were tasty if a little small.

Friday night mother daughter time meal.

Super ambiance upstairs in the height of summer with the windows open, Service was really good and the place appeared to be full of locals. The Pollo Zafferano, Salmone Asparagi, Pollo e Patate and Lasagne Uovo selected and nothing was left. Really tasty food , accompanied by Moretti and Peroni beers. No long waits between courses and the whole evening finished with Toffee Pecan Cheesecake. I think we will visit again. It is on the old High Street with little parking although there is a car park just up the road..

First time at this restuarant, will definitely go again. Best chicken liver starter I’ve had for yonks. The pork special melted in my mouth. Green beans perfectly cooked.

This is a lovely restaurant in a beautiful village. We were a party of six and a child. Having heard fantastic reviews from friends and family, our expectations were high.

I’ve been to vita numerous times and have always been pleased by the friendly, welcoming staff, quick service and wine at a good value. This time was no different, I had the vita pasta and a glass of Sauvignon, which was fantastic.

We visited at the weekend as a big table of 15. We all had a great night! The service we received was fantastic. The food was loved by the whole table. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and if I lived closer I would definitely be returning soon!

We popped in one Sunday evening for a quick bite, after not visiting for a long time. (Admittedly, they are the only restaurant in Welwyn that's open then.)

Hadn’t eaten here for a while after their hygiene rating issues but everyone deserves a second chance! . The restaurant was quiet, the service was good but the food just average. Better places to eat in the village.

We called in for a late lunch on a bank holiday weekend. The restaurant was fairly quiet, but we had a nice table by the window and watched the world go by whilst enjoying an excellent pasta dish and bottle of wine. We will definitely return.

Visited again after too long an absence and were not disappointed. As always the staff of this family owned business were friendly and there was no delay in taking our order (though a quiet-ish weekday evening). My starter of Bruschetta alla Porchett (pulled pork) was very tasty and then our mains of Vitella Saltimbocca (Veal) and Bistecca Latina (steak) were excellent and delivered promptly, each with sauteed potatoes.

A modern small Italian in our village with a modern interior. Friendly and good service. Excellent food and good choice of menu. We went for the lunch deal which was good value and very popular.

We decided to give this restaurant a visit based on the reviews here on TripAdvisor and we weren't disappointed.The food was extremely good with plentiful portions and well presented. The only thing I would say is although the restaurant wasn't busy we did feel a little rushed and were in and out in just over an hour, next time we visit I'll ask for more time between servings so we can relax and enjoy the surroundings a bit more. Staff were courteous, helpful and friendly. Will definitely be returning and would certainly recommend.

An early Christmas Eve dinner. Good food and attentive yet unobtrusive service made this a very enjoyable family meal.

We dined at this restaurant a few days ago, a group of 8. The food was good, however pricey as a starter would set you back £9 and a main about £18. The service was good, however the only let down was the high service charge. We are not in London and still Vita put a service charge of 10%, which worked out to an extra £35 in all. I feel service charges should be voluntary.
