The Terrace At Sopers in Welwyn Hatfield

We had visited Sopers House on business and decided to treat ourselves to lunch. What a great choice! The food was absolutely superb - the French Fries were fluffy inside! I am gluten free and it was was easy for me to choose my food without a huge fuss and without feeling I was missing out. I also had a pot of tea whilst my husband was tempted by dessert. It is a long time since we have enjoyed a pot of tea and the relaxing experience of a long lunch.

The food was nice, however service was really slow. The bar staff are shocking slow apart from women called Ang who was brilliant and worked her socks off. . 5 deep at the bar with a 20 minute wait due to staff moving like snails. This is normal for a Friday night apparently?. Disappointing first visit , nearly died of thirst at the table and waiting to be served at the bar: Spent less money due to not being able to get drinks!

This is my first visit to Sopers and I was pleasantly surprised with the size the comfort the food and the staff of this hidden little gem. I also would like to thank our wonderful waitress whose name was KOSH, she was most pleasant throughout out our here, she asked several times if your food was okay nothing was too much trouble for her. She was very attentive very professional. She was over above the call of duty with her service. Certainly recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family

So disappointed in Sopes House. Our table booked for 7.30pm, was seated then left for 40mins without a drink order, it was so poor we went to bar to ask if it was waitress service as it was our 1st visit and we was unsure. We was told a waitress would be over to take our orders. Drinks ordered, incorrect drinks arrived, then waited a further 20 mins for this to be rectified. My friend is vegetarian and had called and pre-ordered a tomato pasta dish off menu, which was fine until the dish arrived with spaghetti, no sauce, chopped uncooked tomatoes and mushrooms in garlic oil (no sauce), returned immediately as it looked awful, she then only could have a bowl of chips. Mine & my friends food was OK, we had steak sandwich but chips were a little greasy . Our food took till 8.45pm to arrive at the table was very poor service. We then asked for more drinks and the only waitress working a large area was Drew who was working so hard and taking so many complaints from Diners, who then told me that the bar had run out of Gin glasses so would I like to keep my glass, very bad. The music was OK but the speakers were distorted and this was off putting. We asked for the Manager when the bill arrived as they wanted to charge £10 service charge for terrible service. Leah the Supervisor dealt with us and knew that we had a terrible experience and refunded the whole bill which was the right thing to do. Sopers you have a lovely venue, however not enough staff, sound system needs improvement and your menu needs to be expanded to incorporate vegetarians and Allergies. Such a shame the only good thing was desert was lovely.

Had a great night, the food was amazing just a lovely atmosphere:) also I’ve been for breakfast lunch. I use the gym which is perfect, because you can just come up and watch football to.

The first time at The Terrace for Sunday Roast, the decor inside had a lovely feel to it. Greeted upon arrival and was shown to our table, our waitress Simran was very friendly, our food came in good time. There was also singing and music playing in the background which added to the experience. Would definitely return again for Sunday lunch and would recommend to family and friends.

We enjoyed a fabulous roast here yesterday. The food was tasty and the portions were ample ! The staff were friendly and attentive. The live music was an added bonus . Can’t wait to go back again soon …..

My friends and I booked a table at the terrace for the Sunday lunch menu. I personally opted for a prawn cocktail stater which was great however the Pork belly roast was absolutely outstanding. Our waitress Holly was lovely and made our whole Sunday lunch experience that much better. A big compliment to the chef and the staff. We look forward to returning and will pass the recommendations on.

Went to Sopers House for Sunday lunch today with my mum. The restaurant was busy they had a singer and had a lovely atmosphere the food was delicious. We both went for the roast chicken option for mains which was plentiful and tasty with a lovely home made gravy and the best roast potatoes. We shared a cheeseboard which was delicious along with the wine…and all at a great price. Looking forward to going back. Well done Sopers house and all the lovely staff that served us

The food was amazing and very well presented. The staff are very friendly and very professional. One of our guests dropped their fork and from no where a lovely waitress was there to replace it. The service was a little slow but to be fair there was 17 of us so overall I think the staff did a great job. We was in no rush so it was fine. Great food, great staff and lovely venue. Well worth a visit.

Recently joined Sopers and tried the Friday BBQ, very impressed, great menu, quality food, reasonable priced and great atmosphere. Definitely will be a regular here and can’t wait to go back.

Simple ingredients in unusual combinations, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented - the quality you'd expect at a high-end restaurant. Excellent service, nice ambience - the restaurant exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended.

Beautiful place with great music and atmosphere. Absolutely fantastic food. Light, fresh with great flavours. The steak was delicious and perfect with crispy chips. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Desserts are perfection. Best food i’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend.

Fantastic food in wonderful surroundings, but no one there. This was our second trip to The Terrace but so sad that this wonderful place is getting so little footfall. Some serious marketing needed of this delightful restaurant as it is so well worth a visit.

Second time dining here and tonights experience has been fantastic again. Great personalisation, friendly atmosphere and top notch service from India. Food was absolutely insane, we really cannot wait to come back.

Tried the new menu and I have to say the food was amazing. Delicate but distinct flavours, wonderful presentation, obvious attention to even the smallest detail, and a team of chefs who clearly love what they do. From the surprise delivery of a selection of amuse bouche through to the super pretty deserts, everything was delicious!
