Vista Cielo in Mendip

Had the Nduja scotch egg, calamari for starters, lasagne , mixed kebab and fillet steak medium rare, kids shared a pizza and got to see chef spin the pizza base by hand (which they loved)

Looking for eating out on Bank Holiday Monday Bank Holiday non of the pub s were serving food. Luckily we had parked near this Italian and with little choice went in. What a lovely experience, newly opened we had 5 star treatment. The restaurant is beautiful inside and huge, we can just see big family parties having a great time. The food was delicious we had a pizzas and Risottos the staff were lovely, the prices very acceptable, If you live in the area you can’t go wrong, I your a tourist and want good food we highly recommend, we were camping.

Delighted to find a restaurant where the food's preparation and cooking was (for me) flawless. I had the best blue fillet steak for years - melt in your mouth perfect - by Mahdi. Presented with care, courtesy and consideration beyond one's normal expectations by Natalie - and with an equally disarming demeanour, John - an unassuming, flamboyant, yet unobtrusive maitre d' (de je n'sais quoi). I felt totally at ease in this comfortable, spacious environment, especially, on this, my first visit. A pleasure that I will treat myself to, many more times ... Thank you, from an impressed diner who finally rediscovered my 'blue steak' chef.

We ordered a bottle of Gavi and Chicken Liver and the King Prawn Aglio as starters. The wine was pleasant but we were presented with a King Prawn Marinara instead of the Aglio, (which was still nice). For main meal we picked pasta, the Spaghetti Marinara and a Penne Arabiata. This time we were served Spaghetti Carbonara instead of the Marinara, (again, lovely but not what I wanted). The sweets were the most disappointing however; an Eton Mess composed largely of a glass of squirty cream and a Cheesecake that was stale and contained several lumps of ice! Overall a good value meal but not the most impressive service or quality of food.

We were greeted by the wonderful Natalie who was an exceptional host. She looked after us as if we were royalty. I wish all restaurants had a Natalie. The food was really good as well. Wide selection of starters, mains and desserts. We has garlic bread with cheese and the mixed land and chicken skewers, with home made chips (potatoes were peeked by hand by Natalie). We can’t recommend the restaurant enough.

Very good service and food, we had the chicken risotto and ceasar salad which were excellent, easy parking outside, will book again.

What a great place staff really friendly and helpful. Had a really nice table in a snug corner. The food was brilliant we both had a chicken dish. We went as a group of 15 family and friends to celebrate my daughters 19th birthday. The service was great and the food fabulous. As we weren’t doing cake John went above and beyond to organise a birthday drink with sparkler so we could still celebrate the date. Will definitely be back.

There's not many alternatives open at that time of evening in the area, and we thought we were in for a tough time. We were pleasantly delighted with the range of dishes on the menu, the layout of the restaurant, and the food we received. The service was a little over-solicitous, but friendly and prompt. We would definitely go there again when in Clitheroe

We’ve visited Vista Cielo several times recently, each time it’s been an absolute pleasure. The food is always exceptional, we’ve worked our way through the menu - all of it had been amazing, we particularly like the seafood sharing board starter and the “meter meat” sharing kebab - which is a sight when it comes out! But everything from the garlic bread to the pasta dishes, steaks, fish, saucy chicken dishes and the puddings have all been amazing. One of the touches which sets this place apart from the rest is that the steaks and Kebabs are cooked on a chargrill, so you get that amazing flame grilled taste - which we familiarise with a Mediterranean holiday. The staff are excellent too, even when the restaurant is packed you’re made to feel special - all of the staff work very hard, but I think Jon needs special recognition for the amazing cocktails and friendly/happy attitude towards his work and Ziad at front of house is always very friendly, professional and attentive. There is another lady who regularly works front of house, unfortunately I don’t know her name, but she has waited on us a couple of time’s recently and also been excellent. And of course… it’s great that the kitchen is open at the back, not only to see where the food is created but it gives me chance to personally thank the chefs when walking past, which I always try to do.
