For the avoidance of any doubt I make this review of my own free will. This is the John Lewis of Sri Lankan restaurants. Excellent quality, chic interior, lovely staff, nice plates. All the dishes are fantastic, and I say that with some authority as we pretty much ordered every one of them. The mutton rolls, Ceylon curry and lamb kothu were a delight, and if you don’t try the parotha you’ll regret it every day for the rest of your life (think light, stringy, moist but NOT greasy. The absolute kipper’s knickers). Definitely try the milk hoppers too. They’re a work of art and served with enough condensed milk to choke a donkey. The crab curry was also wonderful but I’ll stop short of saying that it beats my mother in law’s own version because she’s my only source of home made vada and I can NOT risk being cut off. Finally, worth looking at the cocktail/mocktail list for the elaborate Sri Lankan mixes. We ordered a traditional one that was delicious but, more importantly, the same colour the mutagen ooze from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. All in all, twelve out of twelve.

Polite, kind hearted and genuinely care about your dining experience. Delicious food from the very beginning. Catered to our every request. Relaxed atmosphere and ambiance, great company and Delicious food are a match made in heaven! They stopped serving Sothi and the chef kindly agreed to make it especially for us. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan food. Thank you

Authentic Sri Lanka food (which is hard to find), they've really revamped the decor, it was nice before, but now it's even better. Drinks menu is awesome, not like many Asian restaurants. What really keeps me coming back is the quality of service!

For a lovely Sri Lankan meal would definitely recommend Virundhu. The service is impeccable and the atmosphere welcoming and to top it up the food, all freshly made. Particularly the string hoppers a must to try.

Absolutely 10/10. We came here to break our fast for a work dinner and it was my second time having Sri Lanken food, I was blown away by the flavour. Highly recommend. Service was perfect. Coming here again for sure

I booked a table online then phoned on the day of the booking to ask if they catered for vegans, gluten-free and nut-free diets and they said yes. There were three starters that were vegan and gluten-free but not a single mains dish that met both this criteria. If it was vegan it was not GF or vice versa. They had two desserts again that met all these criteria so we ordered dessert but their claim over the phone that they didn't use nuts in anything also turned out to be false. What we did order was good both starters and desserts wise. Still disappointed though by the misinformation and unwillingness to offer to make something. Another one ticked off the list. Won't be going again!

Waited more than 50 mins to get a thali and the reason given was it’s an elaborate dish. !!!

Everything we ate was delicious and authentic. Lovely service too. Lamb chops, chicken curry, mogo and the banana leaf meal were my favourites. Great cocktails.

Amazing food and service, would highly recommend!

First time eating here on a quiet Tuesday night but was really impressed with the food and service. We had a delightful waitress who was really helpful and talked us through the menu and gave great recommendations as we hadn’t eaten traditional Sri Lankan food before. Dishes were spicy but delicious and could be tailored depending on your taste preferences. The mutton curry was definitely a highlight. House wine was lovely and accompanied the food well. Looking forward to going back and trying more of the dishes on the menu.

We had a great time at Virundhu. We had their mutton roll, which is our favourite and Lampreys. It’s something we love about Virundhu. Service was excellent and great atmosphere too. Truth be told we had minor setbacks in the past with this place but I am glad that they pull through with everything. Love to see Virundhu team ensuring that’s each customer request is handled well now. Looking forward to our next one.

Very nice atmosphere for a calm dinner with family or friends.

Lovely food and drinks. The only downsize is that there seem to be too many covers for the restaurant. We were squeezed into a very small table and spent most of the meal moving plates/ cups around in order to fit everything. We knocked several glasses over meaning we had to buy another drink. The food is good but we might stick to take away. The staff were also a little awkward with us having a small child with us, I wouldn’t recommend if you are going with a child..

Lovely food but the service was second to none. Really enjoyed the vegetarian dishes. I did feel the ££ was alot for the portion sizes but I guess that's unfortunately everywhere at the moment. My only feedback was the music was so loud we could barely hear ourselves talk as a table of 5. We asked if they could turn it down but she said it was on a timer and not in their control. Just felt wasn't the right ambience for music that loud. Overall we did enjoy our evening, staff were extremely attentive. Thank you!
