Received our delivery in great time, the food was definitely not up to standard, Chicken pakora and the rice was fine although the Chicken Korma was tasteless and watery as was the Chicken Tikka Masala, will certainly not be using this Indian restaurant again.

I have been getting virsa chicken tikka chasni since this restaurant opened sit in and take out . But it’s been getting worse and worse I tried to call and they hardly speak English don’t realise what I am saying . rice was freezing cold and chicken wasn’t cooked it was big massive pieces inside of uncooked chicken . Also it was so oily .I ordered the kids a nuggets and chips and it didn’t come either , driver turned up with that after we had tried to eat ours one hour later . Waited 2hours use karma Whitburn always cooked to perfection hot and cheaper than here

Really disappointed. We decided to try here instead of our usual place. We waited over 2 hours for delivery ( but due to the time of year we understood) Food arrived, missing item. Cold & “tough” naan bread. Cold & very soggy chips. And extremely bland plain curry. Mine was mild and husbands was supposed to be medium- there was no flavour of spice at all. Spent nearly £50 and didn’t even eat half of it. Really gutted, a lot of money to waste. We tried it but won’t be back sadly.

Easily the best authentic Indian restaurant in West Lothian, food and presentation is fresh and top notch, staff are friendly, place is clean and tidy, i ploughed through the cocktail menu and walked home very satisfied and slightly drunk.

Excellent food, we’ve ordered nans with veggie mains. All very well balanced, full of flavour and delicious.

South Indian chilli and desi lamb - outstanding and worth every penny. Would recommend Virsa to everyone.

Good to have such a lovely restaurant in Armadale serving quality Indian cuisine. Prices have had to increase like many places due to rising costs, but not having to pay to travel means Virsa still offers a great night out on the doorstep.

Had yet another lovely meal here tonight. We have never had a bad meal, the food is always outstanding and the staff are lovely, very friendly. I would recommend Virsa to anyone :)

Another delicious meal today, honestly, can’t fault Virsa, always delicious and fresh!

Lovely staff however the food was tasteless. We had a Bhuna and dhansak, it was difficult to tell them apart. The dhansak had no lentils it was just a spicy tomato sauce. I would have gone better with pasta.

Every now and again you go to eat at a restaurant and your expectations are exceeded. This happened last week when I was on my holidays in Canada to visit my family and friends. We visited Niagara falls and on our last night wanted somewhere local to our hotel to eat. We stumbled across The Virsa Indian Restaurant. Special thanks to the Manager Daljinder Singh without a reservation able to find us a seat (I recommend booking if you are going there) and so the delightful experience began. From the moment we entered to the moment we left, the guy who serve, supported by other were gracious, welcoming and ensured our food and drinks were delivered promptly and as requested. Service here is second to none. The food was excellent, tasty and as described on the menu. Decoration in the restaurant was tasteful and enhanced the visit. To finalise I would find it hard to imagine that you could have a bad experience here as everything about our visit seemed to be ingrained in who they are. Thank you very much guys, next time in Niagara we will be back.

Ordered 3 meals, starters and sides total £49 for delivery. Ordered at 4.45pm…. Delivered at 6.25pm. When I called at 5.50pm to ask where the delivery was “it’s out for delivery” took 35 mins to deliver less than 3 miles. Cold, soggy chips, popadoms basically crumbs, infant portion sizes for rice. Terrible. Won’t ever be back.

Order was late and had 3 items missing. Contacted Virsa to let them know of the missing items. Basically got called a liar by the not so pleasant lady and repeatedly told me I was wrong, then I asked for my money on those items which I was told I could request via Scoffable. "Lovely" lady phoned me back to basically tell me I was a liar and the camera proves I received it all...no consideration for the driver not handing everything over!! Virsa contacted Scoffable to refuse my refund. It's a shame as the food is nice and we've used them lots of times before; however we won't be going back after the awful attitude and treatment received.

Ordered ahead in good time. Mela ready (after a short wait) to collect. Food compared well enough with most Indian takeaway - looked and tasted a bit like a generic sauce used for all meals and adjusted to suit the dish. I personally wasn't too impressed but other in my home liked it more.

Great food but disappointed that we couldn't get any Prosecco as we had has the last four mini bottles and wine we wanted was not available. Would go back as food was very tasty and plenty of it

Ordered an order on scoffable for delivery, order was cold and wasn't going to reheat chicken not that I should after spending nearly £30! Phoned virsa 1st and they didn't do anything about it so I Got InTouch with scoffable for a refund as it never got eaten. But they refused refund as I supposedly got told to pick it up as my food would be cold due to where I live ( there is two options collection or delivery not once did it state if you get a delivery to this location your food would be cold. Never again! Stay clear cause they don't care about a happy customer just £££

Made a telephone order tonight (03.02.22). Was asked to collect in 30 mins. I was on time only to find out the food was luke warm at best, and the poppadoms were soft and floppy (not fresh). Disappointed to say the least. This is our local Indian and is usually very good, but it was not up to its usual standard. Will reconsider using again.

Ordered a take away meal paid by card - as I have done many times with no problem - then I received a message saying 'order cancelled as we are too busy - you will receive a refund in 3 - 5 working days'. Why take the money for goods which cannot be provided and then take days to give you your money back. Well *****d off.

She kindly sat us at our table, a lovely little booth in the corner. We were treated great our entire meal and the chef must have great passion which really shows in his food. I was worried about going out to eat as I am vulnerable, with some serious chest issues. On entering the building you are shown to a sanitiser and asked to immediately after fill in your track and trace details. Then your shown to your seat, all the tables looked very clearly clean. During the meal I saw the waiting staff who were masked cleaning not only the tables but the seats as well. They used disposable napkins to place cutlery on the table. We were not able to take our left overs with us as they have new covid rules in place, but honestly we could understand why this was the case. The toilets were immaculate. All in all the best meal out in a very long time for me and a greatly enjoyable night. Great wine, great food, and lovely hosts! Highly recommended night out, and they are running half price Monday to Wednesday!

The food is generally of a good standard, no complaints there. However, on entering we experienced overcrowding, only one member of staff wearing a mask which was worn over his chin, all other staff members wearing no masks at all. Hospitality establishments are trying so hard to claw back business and stay afloat. Establishments like this one are likely to be responsible for more lockdowns in the future. Not cool guys, step up to the plate!

I tried to book online, which it said it was successful however on the day of the meal they said they haven’t received my booking. When we arrive we get seated and order. Our starters then come out and we are missing an item, asked where it was and they said they thought we meant it as a main even though it is in the starter column. My girlfriend ordered a french martini cocktail and it was honestly incredible for the price. We ordered a few portions of popadoms, however we only got one small portion of spiced onions and chutney which ran out fairly quickly. When the mains come out, we are missing that item again and bring it up again and we are told it won’t be long. We then finish our food which was okay, not the best we have had in there but it is normally great quality, however still missing the starter item. On the final bill they included the item that we never received which they were happy to remove and then apologised a lot but I was still confused how it happened. (COVID - Almost no social distancing between tables, no staff were wearing masks except for one but even then she had it below the nose rendering it useless. They also never asked for our details for the track and trace system.)

It was a busy Wednesday night only 2 staff on even though they were doing the eat out to help out .Starters were lovely ,main course was passable but certainly didn’t blow our minds.Naan bread was amazing.Waited an eternity to see if we wanted a sweet or coffee , nothing,went to the bar for the bill told we will bring it over again waited a wee while.Extra staff would have made the experience so much better and they would have got more money in the till.

We visited Virsa last night, our first meal out since the restrictions were lifted. We were not disappointed....service was (as it always is) excellent and food fantastic. A special mention must go to the lovely lady owner - as we were leaving it was raining so we asked for the use of an umbrella, she offered us one but then actually gave us a lift home. We were so touched, such a kind thing to do. Thank you x

My family and I had a amazing meal first my garlic mushrooms was nice but a bit of bread with this would’ve better my husband had a chicken poori he said it was lovely the kids had chicken chaat our meals were lamb and cooked to perfection and the rice was good becoming our favourite restaurant worth the money service was really good and the guy was polite and friendly

Really disappointed with our second takeaway from Virsa. Their pizzas were OK although a little bland but the customer service was terrible.Our takeaway was 20 mins late, I called them to enquire where it was and was told it's 2 mins away.After ANOTHER 20 mins I called them again and was told it's 2 mins away. Again.The food arrived soon after. I called to explain that I wasn't happy with the service and would have appreciated an update on delivery delays but the lady at the restaurant came across rude and talked over me several times, and even hung up on me.I called again to register a complaint and she said a manager would call me back soon. That was over a week ago and still no phone call!Full disclosure: Our first takeaway from Virsa was excellent - brilliant Indian food and arrived on time.It's a shame that our second takeaway experience was so bad that we would not use them again.

Well our first time ordering from virsa and will certainly be ordering again my partner had the new chilli chicken dish which she said was amazing I had the fly butter chicken it was very tasty also got mix pakora so if you fancy a nice meal I highly recommend virsa

Too long waiting time for delivery poor communication. Food was bland and not nice maybe because it was freezing! Will never use again!

Food excellent delivery service spot aswell just think for a take away very expensive sharing platter (very limited not two of everything ) and two curries (not a lot of chicken in them ) rice n a naan Cajun chips over £35 nice but not that nice for take away Sorry would have been a 4-5 if the price had been better come on get a grip with take away prices please

Just finished my very satisfying meal from Virsa. Was amazing. Ordered online from just eat and it arrived so quickly. There was a mistake with the order so we called them to let them know. Within 10 mins they turned up with our missing items plus a little extra. Thanks again

Decided last minute to try Virsa as it was highly rated. Best decision ever. I had Chilli Madras and its now my new favourite dish. Spicy, hot and finished the lot. Can't ask for any more.

Absolut köstlich. Vor 18:00 Uhr gibt es zwei Pre Theatre Meals, die wir ausprobiert haben. Ich habe mich für die vegetarische Option entschieden. Super lecker.

Meh is about as good as we could say. We have seen numerous positive reviews for the restaurant and decided to give it a go tonight. We used the online system to order which was down but we didn't know until we went to collect it and discovered they hadn't started it. Not a huge problem and they did make the order fairly quickly. We ordered poppadoms, mixed plater for 2, garlic mushrooms, King prawn pardesi, south indian garlic chicken and a medium curry with rice & naan. To say that the poppadoms were the best thing out of all of it I think sums up the review. Mushrooms weren't seasoned or garlicy (more curry), mixed starter was soggy, you couldn't tell the different between the South Indian Garlic chicken curry and the normal chicken curry and the king prawns in the pardesi were rubbery. Such a disappointment and unfortunately unlikely to be back.

We visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening, without any expectations, for a quiet meal. Unfortunately that’s not what we got. The tables are quite close together and it seems a bit cramped. The noise from people shouting to make themselves heard, along with crying children, made it difficult to have a conversation.

Service was great, starter amazing but a little disappointed with South Indian Garlic Chicken. Tasted more like a Pathia. We also regularly got a take away but then the set meals suddenly changed and were not as good value for money.

Really tasty authentic Indian food served by friendly staff

I’ve been before with a friend and thoroughly enjoyed the food. This time I took the OH who likes a really spicy curry. He LOVED the place.

Took my wife and older daughter here for a midweek celebration. Excellent. Table and area spotless- staff attentive and friendly. Music there but not in your face. Food superb. Have had takeaway which is great but the king prawn biryani was to die for. Wife and daughter thoroughly enjoyed their choices (chicken garam masala and chicken Korma - had the korma and it’s very tangy with a heat - not just a sweet gloop). And cobra on tap ! Happy happy days !

Everything tasted lovely, not many, if any, vegetables and my prawn curry had very few, very tiny prawns in it, the sauce was lovely though, but I had curry sauce and rice really. It's quite expensive for a regular meal, but maybe once a year. Our meal was over £35 and that was just for 2 people, and that was me making the rice at home. This meal resulted in zero leftovers.

We cannot recommend Virsa highly enough so please go along yourselves and have a wee treat.The management and staff are very friendly and helpful,the chef deserves a mention too.We usually drop in after the fitba for the pre-theatre on Saturdays and even after a bad result a curry and a pint manages to cheer us up

One off if not the best Indian restaurant in West Lothian....

Have never had a delivery or take away from Virsa before, we have always sat in the restaurant, however we were not disappointed. The food arrived very quickly, was hot and tasty. The starters were delicious, especially the chicken tikka starter and pakora.

We had the £12 pound pre theatre deal and I must say we we’re really disappointed with the portion sizes ! We went when it had just opened everything was great but now the sizes are really poor and not enough chicken in curry dishes with the rice portion tiny. They give you a massive plate and it looks embarrassing once you have put your meal on it maybe to order more to compliment the meal .Come on Virsa get your finger out and get back to your great standards Armadale needs a good Indian restaurant hopefully when we go back we can write a decent review for you especially when your charging £2.50 for a can of coke !

Had one night in Armadale and luckily chose this restaurant on a quiet Tuesday evening. Staff very friendly and the food was surprisingly good although the rice portions were small. Reasonably priced and would definitely recommend to anyone passing through.

My family and I have been going here since it opened last year even had our Xmas dinner there the staff are so nice and helpful the restaurant is very clean and modern and the food 🥘 amazing highly recommend

Found this restaurant last week and have ate in it twice. Food is amazing and staff are great. Would highly recommend you give it a try!

My friend needed the toilet (baring in mind she has a bladder problem) we went in and asked politely if she could use the toilet they refused and would not let us in we then explained the problem and they still refused us we asked politely for the third time once again explaining the problem and they refused again they were telling us they were “closed” but we seen someone come out the toilet that was not an employee when we left the place we then googled the closing times and they close at 10PM on a Saturday and it was only 8:30PM when we went in. Staff was rude and started at you like you were nothing !!!
