Delhi's Winter in West Lothian

I booked a table for tonight for my husbands birthday on it being highly recommended by friends. Well we couldn't find the restaurant and on phoning for directions was told it was closed. So no Delhi's Winter tonight or any other night for us. Absolutely disgusted. Will not recommend this place. I've worked in hospitality and always suggest restaurants take contact names and numbers to inform customers of any emergency work or closure. Helps to maintain your business.

Genuinely one of the worst Curry's I've ever had. You would get better quality out of a microwave curry from the Tesco next door...

Atmosphere is welcoming .Food was really amazing. Cudos to chef Govind he especially customised food for us. We will remember this meal forever. Highly recommended

Went in December when it was very busy but had a lovely meal. The staff were great (Rehman was exceedingly friendly) and food was delicious. Definitely recommend the chicken dosa for a starter!

Food was absolutely delicious, bursting with authentic flavors that transported me straight to India. Each dish was prepared to perfection, with a wonderful balance of spices. The staff especially Rehman was very attentive, courteous, and went above and beyond.

Every dish was exceptional. Cannot recommend the lamb enough. Very generous amount of meat in each of our dishes. The quality of everything was spot on, you can tell that everything was made with great ingredients and by a very good team in the kitchen. Reman who served us was great and very attentive.

Was in at the weekend with friends. To say it was shambolic is an understatement, started off with the table, small round number right next to the window & where people wait for tables and takeaways. Table was cramped, only cutlery was a couple of forks and an empty plate. Got drinks then ordered food, limited menu, not what I was expecting. Starters turned up, still no cutlery! Had to hunt down a member of staff to get some. Food was ok but was crowded by people to the extent my elbow kept getting nudged while trying to eat. Not exactly a great dining experience. 3 different nans ordered, all came cut up on the same plate, come on guys that’s just ridiculous. Gets a 2 because the food was ok but nothing special, shame as used to be a great place.

Went to the restaurant for the first time with mg family and we all were so impressed with everything. The food was amazing and service was perfect. Such a lovely team of people and I’m excited to go back. I think this is a hidden gem if you haven’t been before. :)

Ate here on the 9th Nov. I was visiting from Northern Ireland so I researched where to eat before trying this restaurant. Food was excellent and service was great. It's a very busy place so book ahead to be sure of a table.

We visited this quality little restaurant this evening and not for the first time in recent times. Each time I have to say the quality of food and service has been consistent. The last twice we did the buffet which is on a Sunday evening which gives people the chance to sample a few different dishes they have on the menu. Tonight I ordered a unique spicy and fairly hot dish called chicken chetenad,so,so tasty,cracking little curry! My partner had chicken tikka masala as she doesn't do hot,this was a little spicy , but again the balance of flavours were fantastic. The garlic nan was light and tasty,and the rice fresh and fluffy. Thanks to Rehman who was nice,helpful and welcoming although it was clear he was busy but took the time to ensure service & food were to our liking. We highly recommend this Indian restaurante,the food here is different from your typical Indian,so fresh and full of flavour. Look forward to our next visit. Clarke & Fiona

Went for a birthday meal for my son,and seen all the great reviews so thought we would give it a try,,wow i have never tasted chicken tikka like it as a cook myself i know how hard it can be to nit dry out chicken ,this was so tasty and succulent every piece ,then the tandoori lamb chops absolutely amazing so tasty,,my son and fiancé both had bhoonas chicken and lamb and both were spot on ,we did have a bit of a wait but that doesnt bother me when u are getting food served like that and well worth the wait,,and the service was amazing aswell checking our drinks constantly and apologising for the wait ,not a problem for me though,,think my only suggestion would be is a little salad served with the tikka starters just my opinion though,we all really enjoyed our meals and will deffo return,amazing 👌🏻👌🏻

My partner and I went through to Linlithgow to browse shops and have lunch . My partner had been to Delhi ‘s winter before and had said how good it was . Rehman was our waiter , he was welcoming , gave us time to look at menu and brought drinks , the lunch was excellent and I couldn’t fault anything , lovely place . Well worth a visit

Delhi’s Winter is always a great meal, I have been going for years and the food and service is superb. Rehman in particular is always extremely friendly and often gives me poppadoms or a drink for free!

We ate with family visiting from the USA and everyone enjoyed their meals. Rehman was very attentive and helped me choose Dilli Di Chicken Curry which was very good.

Just had such a lovely dinner, amazing service from Rehman and his team! We were a party of 9 and, of course, all had different dishes! All were fabulous especially the lamb Biryani - so beautifully presented and super-tasty. Great advice re menu (gluten free options etc) from Rehman, very attentive staff, nothing was a problem! We live in NZ but will definitely visit next time we're over. Highly recommended!

Amazing Indian food. Less spicy than the in the US, but so much better than anything I’ve had there.

Brilliant service was provided by Rehman followed by delicious food. This is some of the best Indian food in Scotland. We visit as often as we can because of Rehman. He always makes us feel welcome and makes the overall experience worth the trip. We will go back again abd again.

We hadn't booked a table because it was a last minute decision to eat out. We were seated promptly to a very wonky table. Orders taken quickly. Drinks served quickly. Food arrived quickly. The place sounded louder than a cheap pub. The service in terms of people booking tables was just chaotic they were still NOT seated 50 mibs after reservations made. Felt very rushed in what could've been a decent restaurant setting if they just seated their bookings as priority instead of moving people to accommodate. Next time we'd go for a takeaway because it seemed to run like clockwork

The restaurant located at a nice place near linlithgow palace and the cross well. The food quality was very good. Specially the service was appreciable. The man was welcoming and polite. Definitely will come again.

We were at ESF had amazing experience of authentic North Indian street food at omni centre, Edinburgh, after long year my taste buds experienced real north indian taste and staff was very friendly , most importantly the till was amazingly pocket friendly .... highly recommended....

As Indians ourselves we were very impressed at how authentic the food was ! We ordered 15 dishes and all were finished within minutes. Definitely going to come back when we’re in the area again. Food was amazing the staff were amazing especially chef Govind & gautam.

Here at the Edinburgh fringe and had fantastic food 2 days in a row. I’m vegetarian and they have lots of options! The food is super fresh and they are quick to get it to you. Highly recommend!

Two of us tried a butter chicken with rice plus poppadoms from Delhi's Winter at Edinburgh's Street Food and it was beautiful! Genuinely one of the nicest dishes we tried. I'm not usually a fan of butter chicken, too creamy for me but this was perfect. It was fresh, juicy chicken and the rice was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back to try more dishes.

We have been to the food festival in edinburgh and food at Delhi's winter is very delicious and I would recommend to try food here.

We happened to try Delhi Winter at Edinburgh Street Food and were appalled by the food. The dosa is a disgrace. It wasn’t cooked at all, and the filling was so old that I regret putting it in my mouth. The chola bhatura was even worse—some sort of bread straight out of a fridge. They market themselves as award-winning, but I wonder who gave them any award. Perhaps an award for the worst Indian food. Horrible food, please avoid at any cost. I urge ESF organizers to stop featuring such vendors. Avoid this place at any cost.

Small place but free parking around the back. Starter was decent and not over cooked. Goan fish curry was very well balanced so well done to the chef. Would come back here and try something else. Portions are small but that's the only negative as the food was all great. Worth a gobble if you are in the area.

Good food but website online ordering facility is abysmal. Seriously outdated, would recommend the integration of being able to pay via Apple Pay.

The food was really delicious and flavourful. We went for a vegetarian menu (bindhi, paneer, potato and cauliflower),mushroom rice and stuffed paratha. Highly recommend. Staff knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

We are local to this restaurant and visit for sit in and takeaway regularly - always great but always tend to stick to the same meals. Tonight we had the chicken tikka dosa which we have had before - it was as amazing as always and then tried something new; the dal mahkni with a roti - absolutely delicious and would highly recommend! Been visiting this restaurants for many years and never have been disappointed. Tonight Rahman welcomed us showing us to our favourite seat. The staff are exceptional, all friendly knowledgable about the food and drink and nothing is a problem. Tonight we had the Sunday Buffet which was excellent value. It offered a selection of starters including the restaurant's signature mango chicken and a good choice of mains-chicken lamb and vegetarian. All hot and fresh with a fresh nan of our choice for the table. Try it you will not be disappointed- busy great atmosphere value for money restaurant.

Me and my fiancée have been dining out, and ordering in at Delhi's Winter for two years plus. We both love it. The food is consistently good and reasonably priced. The menu offers a great selection without being too large to make a quick pick. Ordering takeaway has become a bi-weekly habit, often weekly for stretches. The main reason it has been so easy to frequent is because of the exceptional service we receive without fail. I'm often greeted warmly by their wonderful host Rehman, who remembers us always and is even warm and friendly if spotted outside of the restaurant. This is true for all of the staff members I've encountered there. They are extremely polite, never seem stressed or frustrated with us or any other customers, contributing to a great dining atmosphere. We recommend it highly and take all our friends and family there when they visit.

What a find!! This is a fantastic place, tucked away of the main street but with some of the best Indian food I have ever eaten. First night I had freshly made aubergine pakora and a dosa main course. The dahl and tamarind paste with it were extraordinary. The meal lifted my spirits after a long day at a conference in the city. The staff are so friendly - we exchanged names HAHAHA. So good I’m back tonight and they remembered my name - that’s hospitality.

I'm working in Linlithgow for the week and stopped here for dinner. I had the Harlayi kebab to start, with some poppadoms and chutney. The kebab was incredible, the marinade was off the charts with very tender chicken and the chutneys are some of the best I've ever tasted. I had lamb jalfrezi and mushroom rice for mains and they were equally as good. Usually with lamb in Indian restaurants, it's often very tough and more like mutton but the lamb here was soft and tender. Living in Manchester, I'd be hard pushed to find somewhere this good which is a testament to the food they're serving up in a location you wouldn't expect to find Indian food this good. 10/10.

This place was recommended by a taxi driver (arbiters of all Asian cuisine) and after walking past the amazing aromas a couple of times, we eventually decided to give it a try for lunch today. Don't be deceived by the modest exterior, it hides a wee gem. It was very quiet, we were the only customers, but we saw people come in to book tables for that night, which is always a good sign. It was also cold temperature wise, could do with some heaters. However the warmth of the welcome from Rehman and colleagues made up for that. We decided to go for the main menu to try out some of the speciality dishes and after some judicious suggestions from Rehman we chose a more than healthy lunch for two. Prawn puri delicious and fresh. Haryali chicken bursts with flavour, tender and freshly cooked in the tandoor. Mango chicken tikka equally so, with a mildly spiced sauce accompanying it, slight hint of fenugreek, lovely! South Indian chilli garlic chicken was again beautifully fresh, bursting with flavour and lots of fresh whole spices. Poppadoms and selection of sauces were good as starters and the garlic nan and Cumin rice accompaniments finished off the table, again equally fresh and light. We left with a take home box, tummy's very full. Despite not going for the very reasonably priced lunch special, it was great value for money, £20-£30 for food per head will feel like a banquet as portions are generous. Without hesitation, I would return for another try at some different dishes... I have an eye on a tandoori meat platter and something a little hotter in spice. Give it a try, but wear a jumper and sit in to enjoy the staff 'patter' and get the maximum benefit from this delicious freshly cooked food.

Dont usually leave reviews however been twice now and both times been served by Gotham who couldn’t have been more helpful. He was really good with my partners allergies and also had an in-depth knowledge of exactly how the food is cooked. Food has been really tasty both times and we left bursting at the seams! For something different try the Dosa (paneer and chicken both excellent) for a starter.

The Dehli Winter is a fabulous Indian restaurant with friendly staff and great food. The Dehli Winter staff are very kind and welcome you with a smile. You don't have to wait too long for your food and once it arrives you have plenty to eat. The food is amazing and there are loads of options to choose from. Overall my favourite Indian restaurant!

First time trying out the buffet here. We’ve been many times before both sitting in and take away and the food never disappoints. Today we were given our usual very warm welcome from Rehman. The mango chicken was my favourite and is so tender and the lamb rogan Josh was amazing. Hope to be back to try the buffet again soon. Definitely recommend this to try out different dishes to appreciate what this restaurant has on offer.

Best vegetarian food! Have been coming here regularly. Try the poori platter, or the dosa, or the thali, or the dal makhani... I could go on! If you want something veggie, delicious and great value, this is the place. I've been to India many times. This food is the most authentic I have had in the UK, and I include the posh Edinburgh places in that. Staff are great too.

What can I say.... Once more Rehman & the team did not disappoint for our table of four. Every ones plate was polished off, says it all regarding the quality of the 4 main meals. That was after sharing a pakora platter mixture consisting of Vegatable, Fish & Chicken. We had optied for 2 Pilau + 2 Garlic Nans to accompany our mains. Delhi Winter also has an extensive wine list, beers/spirits & soft drinks. Locals call Delhi Winter a "hidden gem", seems that secret is out as we had to book up well in advance for our table. Thanks Rehman & thank you to all the front and back of house staff... 😁

Absolutely rubbish. Phoned twice to find our order. Not happy. Overstretched. Want my money back😔
