Excellent meal with generous portions. Best curry i have had in a while. Would highly recommend and would visit again

Tried for 2 hours to book a table for 10 people, it was Thursday at 5pm I started are they still in business?

Lovely restaurant , delicious food and service, we always eat at Indie Roots, food cooked freshly and it’s very tasty just the right amount of spices and if you request a small adjustment to the food there is no hesitation at all about it . We enjoy the red wine 🍷 and the beer too. Well Done to all staff we shall continue to support you.

We went to indie roots for dinner and had a lovely experience. Rehman was very helpful when choosing from the menu and the food was fabulous. The staff were lovely. I would definitely recommend a visit here.

First and last time I'll get a delivery waited nearly 2 hours they never told me it would be so long i had options the food was OK but tasted better

We were staying in Bathgate for our anniversary and so booked a table for Indie Roots after reading the reviews. Our meal was amazing. Traditional Indian meals and so much choice! Our meals were cooked to perfection. And the staff, particularly the waitress who looked after us, was so friendly and polite. I would definitely go back!!

I had an amazing experience here. I was greeted on entry, the female manager was so kind and attentive. I would go back in a heartbeat. The food was very authentic, tasty and clean. The best Indian I had in Scotland. Thank you and see you again soon.

First time using this restaurant and the last time!! Food was very spicy very hot we could not eat it even Briani rice very hot like vendloo ,too much rice very little meat compared to the price!! Sauce container not suitable for sauces??? Rice is very salty ! Order mild sauce and hot sauce get both very hot, Food ended in the pin never again!!

Was a bit of a wait for the food however it was SO worth it. Garlic mushrooms starter were simply divine and the chicken jaipuri was equally delicious. Portion sizes were perfect too. The lady serving was so nice and friendly. It was quite noisy when we first arrived because it was busy but the acoustics of the room can’t really be helped! Overall a really nice experience 🙂

This is a great wee restaurant, been a couple of times now and every time the food and service are great. Everything is cooked to order with a fantastic choice of currys to choose from. Decor is maybe slightly dated if I had to be picky but would recommend to friends and family and I'd go back in an instant.

Absolutely shocking service. Ordered at 18:20, got a notification on just eat that it was delivered at 9pm & it was not. Phone was turned off so we had to go into the store to find out what was going on. Apparently there had been an incident in the kitchen, then the story had changed to being short staffed, then no delivery staff. They only wanted to partially refund even though we had never received the food!! Abysmal service & I will never return. There are plenty more better options in West Lothian. Extremely disappointed!

Very excellent take away, one of the highest standard chicken pakoras I had ever, will return again and again...clear that this place cares about food and what they do. Better than Karma whitburn.

Three of us had a lovely meal here last night. Food was excellent and good sized portions. Service was excellent too, staff/owners really nice people. Highly recommended, will definitely visit again if back in Bathgate.

Quite simply the best Indian food we've had, went there for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. We had the meat platter to start (gorgeous) and both had the lamb for our main, it was so tender and tasty. The woman who served us was lovely and really helpful too.

Ok. Hard one here.. food was pretty good, not fabulous but ok. The naan was very tasty. But once again small details would improve this little place... it was dark.. way too dark.. table was not set and we had to ask for cutlery and serviettes, some weird alarm kept going off on the counter which was extremely loud and intrusive through the meal. It had no Indian authenticity like anything on the walls or around the room, also I have never had indian food served in Pyrex dishes before, it has always come in small copper/brass kadai pots which makes it feel more authentic. In saying this I did enjoy my lamb bhuna but the shared Tikka masala looked more like butter chicken. If I was asked if I would eat here again I would probably look elsewhere first, but if nothing was open elsewhere I would go back.

Good food. Price reasonable. Only one member of staff serving, clearing away serving drinks and taking orders. This made things a bit slow for customers. They need another staff member to earn the 5th star. Would definitely go back again.

I love this place! We always have a lovely meal every time we go there. Such a great selection of dishes and friendly service. Everything we tried have been delicious!

Totally enjoyed my dinner at this restaurant during a short trip to Bathgate. The food is delicious and the owners super friendly. Not easy to spot this place but if you are in area do yourself a favour and pay a visit to it. Your taste buds will thank you for it.

Had a fab takeaway. Everything flavoured beautifully. I needed mine to be dairy free, I phoned in and the lady talked me through my options and assured me that she would make a note for the kitchen as well.

Been there several times and always got first class service. I always have a meal prepared according to my instructions. Some places serve dishes whose taste is killed by excessive amounts of hot spices. Everything is balanced here. The interior is clean and does not overwhelm with ornaments and loud music.

Best Indian in Bathgate, the food here is always so fresh and delicious. We ordered a takeaway once and decided to go into the restaurant because it was that good. The family who own it are really lovely and friendly. We will be back time and time again!

Loads of flavour in sauce loads of rice but very little lamb.. 6 pieces for a bhuna eek, called to let owner know and both Currie's were replaced with fresh rice, not the first time either but first time I've called to complain. If you get real size portion in meat it is the best in town but it really is a roll of the dice and thats why we stopped going before, now i think we'll yry elsewhere before trying again

My family took me here a few weeks back for my birthday it was fabulous. We have eaten both in restaurant and as carry out - both amazing. Service is 1st class as well. Curries are amazing. Looking forward to joining the business owners at their cookery lessons.

Initial impression was a bit underwhelming, however the food was spot on. No food colouring used and everything was obviously freshly cooked. Excellent.

Visited for a meal with friends on a Saturday evening. Great food, really fresh and flavoursome. I had the mixed vegetable pakora starter, which is a really nice mix of aubergine, cauliflower and onion, and a Kadai Chicken main with rice and garlic naan. It was all really fresh, the coriander in the curry was perfect and the garlic naan was just right. The staff are friendly and it’s all easy to deal with for track and trace, ordering and paying (which is good value for money!). I’d highly recommend a visit.

Just had dinner here and it was fantastic. Well worth a visit. Very comfortable and staff very attentive. Definitely 5 🌟.

Food is very nice. Chips and curry sauce, and chicken Korma. AMAZING. Freshly cooked, and nice and hot👌.

Another excellent meal. Vegetarians out there ( or not), the Paneer Shaslik is terrifically good. My husband tells me that the lamb Jalfrezi is the best he’s eaten - anywhere.

Takeaway and deliveries only now for obvious reasons but the food is a good as ever. First class mixed pakora - chicken, aubergine, mushroom, vegetable, cauliflower - all in a tasty, light, crispy batter. Tender lamb jaipuri & a lovely creamy daal makhani. Perfection.

I love Indie Roots but hadn't been for a few weeks. Tonight I had a takeaway which was absolutely delicious. I'm sitting here feeling like the cat that got the cream! Lovely welcome by the staff who, like all staff in restaurants at this time, are going through uncertain times but still maintain a smile and chat. I intend to continue to support them to help ensure that they can keep up the fabulous, top notch food and service they give us xxx

Live locally and friends wanted to try. So glad we did .Host was charming and very attentive. Ok decor is plain but the food was delicious. Good prices ,good portions .Didn't feel rushed or anything.Sadly restaurant has to close for 2 weeks Covid restrictions but takeaway still open so will definitely be back for one before they open again

Just received my delivery, cost over £21, never again, never seen such a pathetic takeaway meal, not big enough to feed my 5 year old, on top of that delivery driver wouldn't come to my door, had to go to his car to meet him.....total unsatisfactory.....

Went to Indie Roots for a family dinner. Host was charming and food was great. I hope that this restaurant overcomes the impact that COVID 19 restrictions has placed on us all. It's a wee gem and it deserves support.

We were out shopping and looking for somewhere to eat near Bathgate. I remembered K2 but it has changed to Indie Roots. The lady told me it had changed hands five years ago. I must get out more. Nothing was too much trouble. I explained that I had been served Kashmiri Naan bread in Malaysia but couldn’t find it on any restaurant menu in the U. K. She said she would ask the chef and maybe if we came back we could order in advance. Half way through our meal the chef appeared with a trial of Kashmiri Naan. It was beautiful. What a lovely gesture. He had some left over so the table next to us got some as well and loved it. The meal was freshly cooked for us and was fantastic. Thank you so much for your kindness and service. We will be back.

Situated just outside the town centee, but well worth the 5-10 minute walk it'll take you to get there. Excellent food. Especially the curry, which was easily the best I've had in Scotland. If you enjoy authentic Indian cuisine with charming, attentive service then this is the place for you. I can't recommend Indie Roots highly enough.

Incredibly tasty, authentic Indian food with pleasant attentive service. If you live anywhere near Bathgate then you owe it to yourself to try Indie Roots. It's the closest you'll get to true Indian cuisine in Scotland, as far as I've experienced.

I’ve eaten at a LOT of Indian restaurants and, put simply, this is the best. The quality of the food is excellent and the staff are friendly and attentive. I also recommend the Kingfisher on draught. It’s a consistently great pint to accompany your meal.

The Indian food served up here is the best we've had in all of Scotland. The fine folks running Indie Roots have kept us sane during lockdown with their brilliant takeaway curries that we wind up craving over and over again.

The #1 best Indian food outside of Edinburgh or Glasgow - I can't think of any better flavors or customer service. Exceptionally nice owners. I was waiting for my food while Susan was taking an order and she ended the call by saying "thank you for loving us" and it melted my heart. 10 stars if I could.

Consistently excellent food with a menu that’s more varied than many traditional Indian restaurants. The Kerala coast-style tandoori monkfish, the house daal, jeera rice, and the seasonal aubergine or moringa tree specials are exceptional but so are the round-the-year madras, kormas and biryanis. Highly recommended.

The food at this place is amazing tried several things on the menu and all of them were very tasty would definitely recommend this place was very impressed overall with the customer service as well as the food.

We had mixed pakora to start, a chicken chasni and a lamb rogan josh, with chana masala, tarka daal and rotis on the side. It was all wonderful with great depth of flavour and succulence. The service was super, with a very attentive waitress who was happy to give information about the dishes and to make recommendations. Very good on price too. All of the above with drinks (two pints and a water) was £55, plus we got poppadoms and dips as an aperitif! A real star in West Lothian!
