Even though it's quite small, we were given the back room for a small party. Decor feels rustic Italian and the pizza was great. Had a spicy one and it hit the spot. Kinda wish I had not added extra chilly oil as it made it very hot! Will definitely go back one day. Prices were also fair.

This place is a hidden gem - really authentic Italian - extensive menu, lovely deli environment, good service. It was getting super busy from 5pm on a Thursday which was good to see. Will definitely be back!

Ordered from here many times over the years but collected for the first time tonight. Pizzas are always tasty and made with good quality ingredients. Service is very quick and pizzas were ready in less than 20 mins from ordering. The restaurants themselves also have a wonderful atmosphere and vibe

I really wanted to like this place as it had a nice atmosphere, there seemed to be Italian people eating there and the interior looks like an Italian deli. However, it was very disappointing. Service was very slow, it took about 20 minutes before my drinks order was taken. Then I had a long conversation with the waitress about the smoked cheese starter. In the end I decided to order it, with Meatballs and pasta to follow. After a further long wait, during which other tables that had arrived after me were served their food, the waitress appeared with my pasta and meatballs. She had left the cheese starter in an oven to heat but then forgotten about them. So no starter. The pasta and meatballs were only average, I couldn't recommend them.

I accidentally ordered a pizza from the Brighton restaurant, thinking it was Saltdean's, and they were so kind about it. They made the same pizza for me, even though it's not on their menu. Exceptional customer service, great pizza and excellent value - would highly recommend!

Dined here 31st May 2024. Ambiance nice. Great menu. Value for money. Food we ordered was really lovely but two of the pasta dishes were slightly on the tepid side. Our sides had been forgotten, I think, but once we questioned they were quick to rectify. What our group of 4 all found a little lacking was attentive service that you'd expect in a busy restaurant, serving really great food. No one checked in with us. We had to ask to order more drinks and plates were taken whilst one of our diners was still eating. Just a bit odd - maybe they had team members unexpectedly off but something for them to certainly consider.

We had a great meal here on a Sunday evening. Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and very good pizzas!

I didn't move to Saltdean because of VIP Pizza, but if I'd known about it, I might have done. You won't find better pizza, or atmosphere inside a local, family-run restaurant. Don't forget to try a meloncello. And the freshest Peroni on tap.

Excellent pizza. Literally travel to come and get a proper sourdough pizza with true neopolitan ingredients. Atmosphere is like being on an Italian driving tour and arriving at a mountainside trattoria. Been coming for years and look forward to coming for more.

Since we were full, we only tasted antipasti and tiramisu. However, both were fantastic and you won't taste such tiramisu anywhere in England 🤤. The real great taste of Italy. 100% recommended! ❤️

Have been going to VIP for years now and never been disappointed, great atmosphere and decor throughout with amazing tasting food. We were served by Vicky today and she was extremely friendly, pleasant and made it a great meal for us. Value for money is there with large portion sizes and great quality ingredients.Will 100% be back in the future and recommend this restaurant to anyone 👍

We have been to VIP in Saltdean many times, particularly on Sunday evenings and we can get there on the 27 bus and so enjoy a bottle of red wine. The staff are lovely and there is a good choice of food. My husband likes pizza but I am not keen so have pasta or one of the meat choices. Very happy to recommend it.

I was down in Brighton for the marathon and ate here the night before. I ordered the ragù off the specials board and it was amazing. My nana was Italian and I remember her cooking well. I tell my 8 year old son that while my mum (his nana) makes better sauce than me, my nana (his great nana) made the best sauce. She died when I was a teenager so it’s been over 20 years since I ate her sauce, but the first bite of the ragù tasted just like hers and brought back some amazing memories of the foods she used to cook. I would fully recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves Italian food, this is as authentic as you can get outside of Italy itself. I wish I didn’t live over 100 miles away else I’d be eating here every week. 10/10 would recommend to all. Staff were lovely and it’s a cosy little restaurant that has all the feel of a family run establishment. The prices were really reasonable as well, great value for money. Don’t miss out if your in Brighton!!

Love VIP and have eaten in many times and have had lots of takeaways. Great food and atmosphere, a piece of Italy in Saltdean. With all this said out last visit was sadly let down by the service. Inattentive, unfriendly & missing items. Shame as we have lost count how many times we have recommended this to friends, family, air BnB guests and students that stay with us. Feeling let down .

An excellent authentic Italian restaurant. Arrived at 5pm at which point is was not busy but within an hour most tables where taken. The food is keenly priced service spot on, being out of the town in a small row of shops its secluded and very personal. This was our first visit and would for sure be back soon.

Grazie was our waitress and she was phenomenal. Service was quick and on the go. Food was excellent and really exaggerated the “very Italian” part, the restaurant itself was decorated nicely. Would recommend coming here with your partner.

The food was phenomenal! We ordered 2 pizzas and the gnocchi.. pizzas were cooked to perfection and the toppings were amazing, the gnocchi and Carne sauce were the best I’ve had, including my trips to Italy! Service was great even though it was busy. The venue was very lively when we were there on Thursday evening, we were sat downstairs and it was very noisy, this doesn’t bother me but you may want to consider this if this is an issue for you. One Tiny point for consideration, the lighting could be a bit lower downstairs for a cosier atmosphere but I will definitely be back again when next in Brighton!!

This restaurant is very good for these things: Food, Service, Atmosphere. The food was very nice and made properly and tasted amazing. The service was very good and very helpful. The atmosphere is very good as it is a shop and a restaurant which is decorated very nicely. Will come again and recommend to everyone.

We had been past VIP Pizza many times but never been in. Well it was well worth the wait, firstly i would recommend that you book so your not disappointed that you can't get a table. On arrival the staff were friendly and very helpful, and not once were did we feel pressured to place our order. The menu is quite extensive and if your a pizza lover then you have enough options to keep you busy, plus the selection of pasta dishes will make your mouth water. We never had one but the sea food dishes looked amazing The food we ordered was really good, and you could see that it was freshly cooked. Over all we had a three course meal, bottle of wine and a couple of beers and the bill was very competitive, and for the first time in a long while a service charge was not automatically added to the bill, we had to ask if we could leave at tip. A nice touch not to have it just added as a matter of course. As a result of our experience and the food we had we will defiantly be returning, my only hope is that the staff remain as they were, friendly and attentive going forward. We have been to other places which had fantastic service the first time, but then when going back the second time the service was terrible. So a big thank you to the VIP team and we look forward to seeing you again soon :)

I tried pizza affettata and one with anchovies , unfortunately I been disappointed by both, as I found quality of ingredients poor (il visit again to try something more basic as I heard many good reviews) . Otherwise I enjoy the fried seafood ( Misto delmar!?) and service/staff been excellent.

Having been to the Brighton restaurant, decided to treat the parents to a meal in saltdean. What a lovely place. Food was fabulous and staff were very attentive. We will definitely be back

What a place! What great Food!!! And not over expensive. And so, to VIP in Brighton. A lovely 'holiday' like atmosphere! We reserved a table, which was conveniently by the door, but the heaters were on to keep us nice and toasty. Although we pre booked, we were initially given a table to seat 5....a bit of a tight squeeze, but after a bit of jiggling about, and moving other customers we were made more comfortable. Amazingly though, as an aside, a group of 18 people bowled up without a booking and were found a table immediately, down stairs!! Anyway, that aside the pizzas were proper good old fashioned VERY tasty, the garlic bread with cheese was top drawer stuff. We couldn't fault the service, even if one server looked as though she was under a bit/lot of stress! Everything we were served up got consumed, with no left overs from anyone...always a good sign! Oh, and it was very reasonably priced too. We'd definitely visit again.

Went here after an afternoon at the beach to chill out with my misses. We realised we hadn't really eaten anything at all that day and we're very hungry, concidered fish n chops but everything was closed. She said how about pizza and searched and found Very Italian Pizza. Turned up and parked near by and saw the place was more like a family run Deli, loads of options on the menu, every one was jolly, welcoming and made you feel like you were with your family, even the customers were joking with us and suggesting stuff as we ordered. I love good pizza, one of my favourites is a ragu or similar topping, the lady who served us said they also have meatball pizza, so I asked what she preferred, "obviously meatballs are better" she said, so I went with that. Now some may think "what? Meatballs on pizza?"........and think it's odd. Believe me when I say, this thing was so good a was praising gods from different religions......the dough and the cooking were amazing, the meatballs were home made, I think pork and beef, and the size of tennis balls, five of them, the tomato sauce had so much flavour and the cheese was amazing too, delicious gooy toasty mozzarella, and fresh basil 😘👌! I would never have believed I could get a pizza like that on a back area in Saltdean. My misses had a mozzarella pizza, fresh hand knotted cheese, both pizas were amazing. I'm going back as soon as we can to have a sit down meal and try all vtbe amazing options they have, one local suggested the spicy smoked cheese, and there are about 20 or so pizza options, hopefully some Fritto Misto too. Great value for the quality and care that goes into what they serve. Show these people the love they will show your taste buds and drop by, you will not be disappointed if you love great Italian food.

I think we visited on a bad night. Understaffed and we had to correct the waiter a number of times. Food was very good, mind.

First time had a take away pizza was absolutely lovely

Lovely food but unfriendly service. The server couldn't have cared less to make us feel welcome and comfortable and we had a toddler with us. Two adults of the party and the toddler have visited the restaurant in various occasions but weren't welcomed as regulars.

I visited this restaurant on Fathers Day. It was quite packed, straight away a bottle of wine was brought to our table. I ordered Insulatta and I was very disappointed, the chicken was dry and overcooked and I felt like I was given just the scraps. The salad wasnt particularly fresh and the whole meal was underwhelming. It was good that they had colouring books for the grandchildren, the staff seemed stressed and they didn’t ask if everything is alright.

Found this excellent place by accident, and what a find it was! It was buzzing in there on a busy Friday night, the atmosphere was great. The choice of pizza was extensive - it was a little difficult to choose! I had a calzone and my wife had a traditional style pizza. The portions were huge, but we managed to squeeze it all in! Drinks choice was good and reasonably priced. As well as serving food, it's possible to buy all sorts of Italian themed produce. Outside of Italy itself, I'd say this is the most authentic feeling of Italian food I've been to. Loved it.

My daughter got a meal from here and raved about it so I thought I’d give it a try. I’m so glad I did. I’ve found a new place to get my pizzas etc. from. Fantastic choice, great value. You pay a little more but it’s so worth it to get an authentic Italian pizza not some mass produced, stodgy, no care pizza. I really enjoyed choosing from a menu that didn’t just have the usual tired old flavours. The classics are still there but so many others to choose from. I will definitely be getting my pizzas from there ( and other dishes available ) from now on when I decide I deserve a little treat 😁

It has been awhile since we have eaten in the restaurant and I must say that VIP are back to their original quality of food. There was a small period where the quality seemed to dip, but my confidence has been restored. I tried the calamari which was a little chewy but it had a great flavour. The kids pepperoni pizza is very nice and has good sized portions. My wife and I split the VIP salad with a beef pasta dish (name escapes me). Both had great depth of taste and filling. Great to see VIP is back to there original quality and look forward to my next visit

Exceptional - service, food and atmosphere. Came into Saltdean hungry and tired, out b&b host recommended VIP. So happy we followed his recommendation. The best meal we have enjoyed in the UK the 3 weeks we have been here.
