Vintage in East Hertfordshire

Superb. Snuck in a packet of digestive biscuits and an out of date M&S cheeseboard. Bought a couple of bottles of red . Had a fantastic one man party. Also really like this place because people tend to leave you alone.

We popped in here on a whim, because we'd been meaning to try it (mainly just to say we had!) and we saw it was open. We weren't expecting much - we feared £18 wouldn't go very far with a charcuterie board. I'm happy to say we were pleasantly surprised! We got a slab of delicious cheeses, meats and accompaniments (which were generously proportioned), with a wide variety of breads and crackers, and the wines were delicious. The mood of the place was quiet yet refined and welcoming. The manager Leyla was friendly and provided excellent service. Well worth a try - We'll definitely be back soon!

I had a lovely evening in here. Note: the cheeseboard is enough for two sharing and comes with plenty of crackers. Tip: Isle of White blue cheese is superb.

I went to this place just after it refurbed and opened as “Vintage” cheese and wine bar. We were really excited to go, but our experience was utterly disappointing. The venue was so cold that I kept my coat on throughout the entire time there. Two of the cheeses ordered they did not have, and the waiter was not able to recommend a suitable alternative, nor suggest a suitable wine. The shared platter arrived missing chutneys (taking a further 20 minutes to arrive) and only 4 very small slices of cheese in total for the 4 of us to share - really the waiter should have suggested we order more. When we ordered wine following our cocktails, the first 2 wines selected were out of stock and it took a full 30mins from ordering for the wine to arrive. It was not a busy night and only 10days after opening so to not be in stock with cheese and wine is bizarre. Finally, the toilets were grim - ancient brown stained bowls. Surely if you are refurbing and rebranding a good deep clean should be on the to do list. I contacted the Vintage team to say I was disappointed and would like to give them feedback rather than a public review, but heard nothing. Poor actual service in the venue, and poor follow up customer service. Won’t be going back in light of the other excellent cocktail/tapas/wine/oyster places that have opened up recently.

Our server Jordan was wicked and so knowledgeable. A member of our party was vegan and Jordan was so helpful and helped us find all the vegan options, especially with the martini, which was peach instead of martini and became vegan because of that. He was so lovely and made our experience so much better.

Group of five. Strict one drink limit. Really enjoyed my raspberry colada. Refreshing caipirinha. Reasonable linchberg lemonade.7

Very nice. Still on the high side of prices but their happy hour makes up the difference.

My wife and I went in one Wednesday night for cocktails. Had a great time playing board games which we didn't know they had! Jacqueline was a fantastic host , very attentive and had lovely chat. We will definitely be going back she was great!

Found this little gem by accident,then settled in for the night. We had a brilliant night,playing Twister was a challenge after so much G&T but we tried.

Good but they have an unfortunate habit of putting everything on a table tab, causing no end of confusion when settling the bill.

No draught beer, warm bottled beer, poorly made cocktails, no atmosphere when we visited 27th July, overpriced

Cocktail bar in Hertford town centre, visited on a Saturday night, not quite as rowdy as some of the other bars which I was thankful for lol. Would go there again.

Recently visited with my brother, could not have been happier with the service and staff. The blonde girl who served us our delicious bellini's was friendly and attentive, served us swiftly and knew the menu and drinks well.

Nice bar and vibe. But have to vote down on service as tried to buy drink at bar but was told it was tableservice. Tableservice was absolutely awful, we were lucky to get served a drink after about 45 minutes by which time happy hour was nearly over! Would have bought a lot more drinks if tableservice was active

Used to go here a lot when it was cosy. Music for some reason now comes out of a speaker that was on the bar the lighting is awful and makes it look taty. For some reason again there was a loud screaming group of ladies deafening everyone in the room. Sure they were having a nice time, but in a bar that size it was deafening. Pretty much only them left by the time we left after only one drink. Sorry!

Polite and friendly staffs and good customer service but aweful food! Can't even get fried eggs right, the pancakes barely had any maple syrup and it was very soggy. We used to love this place especially for breakfast but don't know what happened in the last couple of years.

Nice stuff, awfull food. The worst vegetarian burger in area. Chips had old oil taste. Filthiest cutlery I have ever seen.

This place was very tatty and freezing cold, please put the heating on. It really has gone down hill. Service was slow and slack, we were given an empty vinegar bottle and there was no chicken wrap. The toilets stunk and very dirty. Our table was sticky and had to be cleaned before we sat down. I like the 'Shabby Chic' theme, but this was more 'Shabby S**t'! Will not go again. It needs a great deal of work doing to it! Shame really as I use to love this place. Oh well, next time I'll go elsewhere.

With it's cozy, warm decor and a small but attractive garden, the snug is a friendly and comfortable place. The cocktails are well mixed and maybe a little too tasty! Happy hour lasts from 3-7pm, with two for the price of one on all drinks. All together, an entirely pleasant place.

Cant beat happy hour cocktail prices but also fairly reasonable outside of happy hour. Nice and quick service and even recommended a delicious watermelon based cocktail that I wished they'd get more of! Perfect for pre drinks before going for dinner in Hertford.

Love this place. Foods really good along with service from staff. Nice atmosphere in evenings. I recommend the Chicken Wings (with Frank's Hot Sauce of course) and the burgers are great too.

Went for NYE and it was very quiet, much emptier than on a normal night out (apparently that was the case everywhere in town according to my taxi home) That being said we had very good table service all night!

When exactly are " last orders" ? Loads of people were served after the last orders which we were persuaded to have a bit too early. We might have bought more !!!!

Bit disappointing. I rang up to change my table but it wasnt changed in there side . So when I got there had to wait around half an hour for the table . Would if been nice if they had offered a free drink while we wait . Three of had starters but they brought everyone esle main course an starters . Which was silly as we want to eat our main course together of course . Starter is ment to before the main course ? So we had to wait ten minutes for our main course . My friends had inform the waitress there chips were cold and she didn't do anything about it . Chicken burger was really nice ! But disapointing we had to wait so long . One of the bar member was a little sassy with us . Overall we weren't to impressed . There a friendly member waiter.

One of the best English breakfasts I have ever had. Eggs Benedict are great, but the pancakes with maple syrup could do with a bit more syrup....but still one of my favourite breakfast places in hertford.

Friendly staff, good service. I would've given this place 4 stars before but it's just not as good as it used to be. Music is a bit loud and choice of beers is limited since they signed a contract with a new provider.

Had a gorgeous breakfast today at The Snug Hertford. Lovely fruit smoothies and a gorgeous cooked breakfast. My eggs came perfectly cooked in the way I like them and the sausages and bacon are good quality. Perfect hangover food and great service. I noticed that they do allow dogs too so we may take our own little Fido there with us for some lazy Sunday brunches.

My first visit to the Snug Bar was last Friday evening when we were looked after like we were VIPs! Carl, Jordan, Dale and Tommy made us feel very welcome. I've not been to a bar in Hertford that has table service and such friendly and helpful staff. I liked it so much I went back with a friend on Monday for lunch and received the same attentive and friendly service. The Snug Bar is now my local (and I don't even live in Hertford!).

Lovely lunch the other day! Enjoyed the bangers and mash :-)
