I have been a supporter of Vincent Davies for a very long time, however, on visiting today I found that there is a charge of 39p if you want an alternative milk, you are never told or asked if you want to pay this extra that choice should be yours but Vincent Davies take it upon themselves to not ask but assume that you want to pay it when you think that you are paying nearly a third of a carton only get two cups of tea and have to waste the rest, sorry Vincent Davies you are not what I thought you were

A department store is a usual choice for Sunday lunch, but it's a place I frequent quite often for coffee. We arrived at just after midday, anticipating a short wait and we were not disappointed as a few tables were in the process of being cleared. The order was taken quickly, and delivered to our table a few minutes later. The beef was plentiful, but tasted more supermarket than butcher's. The vegetables were the main star, they were exceptional and worth the money by themselves. The gravy was a bit of a disappointment, plentiful, but probably Bisto or similar. Perhaps I'm too picky, but I will certainly visit again to try another Sunday lunch. The staff were very helpful and friendly, but they always are like that.

Very clean, very efficient. The place was really busy, but staff attentive. Loved the view. Menu items looked a bit pricey, but you can tell this place has high overheads with plenty of staff. Proper tea leaves and enjoyed a filling tea cake supplied with plenty of butter.

We've been for lunch quite a few times recently and although a long wait on one occasion due to it being very busy, it's usually just a reasonable wait for your food to be delivered to your table. I have coeliac disease and the menu is labelled well so it's easy to find what is gluten free and I have to say they go above and beyond with making sure your food stays safe for you with allergen stickers, allergen sticks and wearing a glove to deliver the gluten free plate to avoid any cross contamination. I really appreciate this extra effort and due to this I have never had a single problem in all the occasions I have dined here. Food is always good and they do a lovely gluten free breakfast too. Highly recommend if you're looking for a safe place to eat as a coeliac!

Had a lovely cooked breakfast here recently with a couple of family members. Good customer service with a smile and generous portion sizes. Other members in the group had breakfast sandwiches and coffee and were happy with their food. Reasonable prices given the size of portions. Relaxed atmosphere with plenty of seating choice on the day we visited. Nice morning topped off with a spot of shopping in the shop.

Popped in for a lunch and had the expected 30 minute wait for a table. Ordered the standard lamb Cawl off the menu, which I have had in the past. Very disappointing 😞 would be an understatement. The white bread roll was cheap and inedible 😞. The grated cheddar cheese was sooo rubbery, it wouldn't even melt in the very hot Cawl 😞. The Cawl itself, had been over cooked to the point that all veg had disintegrated, and contained a fare amount of lamb fat 😞. A disappointing experience 😞.

Terrible service. We waited 15 mins until I got up and went to the waitress stating we had waited a long time to order our food and drink. She came 5 mins later. We didn't even receive an apology for the delay. Some items on the menu weren't available. My sister's drink order came out wrong. We ordered the scone with jam and clotted cream but they were in fact fruit scones, even though my sister asked beforehand to the waitress if they were fruit scones and she said no. The fruit scones had been warmed which meant the cream melted when spread. Price of the food and drink was extortionate considering the quality was poor. Very disappointed. My nan was there the week before and it was the same service. Sadly she had a worse experience than we did today. The wait for food was 45 mins. My nan started feeling very faint and asked the waitress if she could have something small to nibble on whilst they were still waiting for food an hour later. The waitress was not accommodating to begin in with but once my nan had a funny turn the waitress went to get a couple of slices of bread and butter, which they had the audacity to charge her £2 for. I am appalled. Is this what you call good quality service? My nan has spent thousands over the years buying furniture, kitchenware, clothes, ornaments and food from your department store and this is how she as a loyal customer was treated by your cafe staff. Sort it out VD

This is the second time we have visited and been told that the ovens weren't working so the only food options were sandwiches and cakes. To be charged £9•99 for an ordinary sandwich seemed very expensive. It makes you wonder if this is a good way to earn lots of money with the production line of sandwiches being dished out to customers. We won't be returning.

Tea cups came to table with dirty rims inside from not being cleaned properly. Took them back to ask for clean cups and received apologies and told new cups would be brought out. Waitresses, clearly embarrassed supplied two new cups but these were also dirty. Spoke to staff again and two more were brought out, this time clean. Two tables down, we saw the same situation being played out with another customer. Have eaten here a few times with no problems but this has tainted our experience and probably wont rush to eat here again

I have fond memories of visiting Vincent Davies as a child almost weekly, and then regularly over the years as a local. Used to love their food but this visit was absolutely shocking. 25 min wait for a table (no worries, it was busy) but the prices on the food were enough to turn my stomach! £13 for a baguette?! They used to be £6.99 for a panini, chips & salad! I ordered the chicken & bacon mayo - the waitress dumped the plates on our table, my baguette was inedible - massive amount of curdled warm mayo mixed with cheese, hardly any chicken or bacon, and the baguette was cold & soggy underneath! Tried & failed to get the staff’s attention. Staff did not come over to see if the food was ok, they didn’t clear our plates for a good 30 mins after we finished eating, and even then didn’t ask if it was any good. My colleague had a £13 jacket potato with prawns which honestly looked like it could have been served for £3.99 in a canteen. Appalling food, lacklustre service, seems they’re just in it for the money these days. I’m not sure if management has changed since covid, because it was such a fantastic place to go before. We won’t be visiting again.

This was an off the cuff visit as last time i visited was well before the covid lockdown. On entry, it was obvious that they have had a lot of work done to the layout, opening up the store more, than previously having sections up between areas. I like the open plan design, however, the itwma that were there previously are still the samw, just a lot newer. The Vincent cafe, now has a sit down table service rather than the self service in place previoualy, at least you could see what takes your fancy cake wise than relying solwly on the menu and its pictures. I have taken a good selection of photos from within the store, which you can view below.

Maybe it's as a result of the covid pandemic as businesses must have suffered because of it, but the atmosphere wasn't as good in the shop as on our many previous visits and the displays seemed fragmented. Maybe in an attempt to adhere to the social distancing requirements. The saddest experience was in the café which appears to have really lowered its standards but increased the prices. Consequently we elected not to eat there and only had coffee. The staff camaraderie appeared to be missing on this visit too and the atmosphere not as welcoming. On a positive note it has not put us off and we have every intention of returning on our next visit to the area and wish the staff and owners well.

When we got home noticed that the ticket price on a glasses case l bought was also less than the till price . I am not usually one to complain but my trip to Vincent Davies’ cafe was more than disappointing. I ordered a scone with chocolate milkshake after hearing meals stop after a certain time. On sitting at my table I noticed just how filthy it was. Every table had some sort of food under it and on top. The rest of my group recurved their food and drinks within 6 minutes. Considering my scone was pre made and in the cabinet I couldn’t see the problem and why it hadn’t come out. Another 7 minutes had gone by when I had to ask the waitress. No apologies were given. I received he scone and it had to be the worst thing I have ever eaten. Could be regarded an insult to my digestive system really. Upon applying jam and cream, it disintegrated. I actually had to use a SPOON to eat my scone. The milkshake then came out after every one had finished food and drinks. The man did apologise this time. The milkshake could barely pass through the straw and after tasting it I was kind of glad it couldn’t. You can get better milkshakes in McDonalds and better scones from Tesco.

Lets be fair, its a fabulous shop in an area devoid of anything different or interesting. The staff are wonderful, the restaurant is light, airy and has fantastic uninterrupted views over the countryside....but the breakfasts are pretty grim by any standards. We stayed locally and rather than have a hotel based breakfast we came up to this shop and ordered a standard cooked 7 item breakfast (£5.99), a Sausage and Bacon bap at £4.99 a pot of tea each at £4.18p total for the two. For £15.16 I expect something pretty decent, instead my cooked breakfast arrived and to say it looked bad was an understatement (see image), everything looked 'dry' even the baked beans in a small pot were obviously dried and reheated, the blood sausage was like a Ry-vita, dry and crispy!, the mushroom was cold and like rubber and talking of mush - well the tomatoes are like water globules ready to burst.... they are shockingly bad. The potato was cold and again rubbery, the bacon was grizzle, the egg wasn't wet - a solid yolk and the only Half (and note I say Half) decent item was the sausage which again wasn't even warm. It makes a mockery of the staff member who said the plates were hot, they weren't!!...for what heat they may have held, that must have been used to warm up the food. As for the Breakfast bap, you expect a smallish soft bread bap with perhaps one sausage split and possibly a rasher of bacon.... Oh no, you get a loaf of bread which is really dense. To eat it all you would be a very hungry individual as again it was cold, heavy going and the bacon wasn't nice either. NO sauce was available which is bizarre. It should be there as part of a breakfast menu on the table. Where I have an occasional comparable breakfast its a pound cheaper, piping hot and freshly cooked with ample amounts of everything AND YOU DRINK is included..... JUST DONT GO HERE FOR A COOKED BREAKFAST. Its a joke as looking at other remarks, they are the same and despite the catering manager being spoken to, or maybe they havent yet, they should be looking for another and cooking to order.....

Finally went to counter to enquire - our order had been lost - ok, things happen. However, we then waited another 10 minutes to receive our drinks, no apology. Stopped here whilst holidaying for coffee and cake, and we were not disappointed! The selection of cakes was amazing and very tasty. The waiting staff were also super friendly and helpful.

Went in this is suppose to be a family cafe. So as i have three children what does it offer. A meal bag, drink , sandwiches, bla bla in total expensive. What can kids do no little play corner, toys, books nothing. Removed when the extended it. Not going to beat about bush here, seems heard to people with heavy pockets. Cafe is clean, staff not sure on Customer service is it good average or fair???

We visited with family and it was our first visit to this area. The store itself was fascinating. The cafe had lovely views over the local area. We can’t comment in the food but have seen an earlier review about staff and their product knowledge. Hopefully that has been rectified.

I visited your cafe this morning with my husband to have coffee and cake. I am gluten and dairy intolerant and seeing nothing on display went to sit down so my husband could choose what he wanted and order. Whilst ordering our coffee he asked the girl on the checkout if there was anything suitable for me to which she replied “the cakes on the end” at which point my husband called me over. Well I looked at “the cakes on the end” and nothing was labelled as gluten and/or dairy free. She then took out a large folder not seeming to know what she was looking for. She asked a colleague further along the counter who also didn’t appear to be able to help. Most disappointing for a cafe of this size who should be able to answer questions of this nature straight away. We won’t visit the cafe again based on this service.

This is one of my favourite stores and leading up to Christmas time it truly wows. We travel from Staffordshire to shop here It is a family run business and the love and commitment that goes into this store is plain to see. It draws you in and makes you spend lots of money but it is SO worth it. I can also recommend the cafe and the ultimate breakfast

We visited the Cafe for lunch today. I have read reviews where it’s been stated that food is prepared elsewhere and just warmed up on premises. Manager comments have refuted this however due to personal experience I believe the former over the latter. I requested the BBQ pulled pork panini without the chutney and the waitress said the panini’s are ordered in like that and just cooked on premises so were unable to provide one without the chutney. Doesn’t sound locally sourced or freshly made to me. I settled for the £7.99 chicken and bacon panini as the menu is extremely limited. It was supposed to be served with chips, salad and coleslaw. The panini was nice but the salad didn’t look too fresh and it didn’t come with any coleslaw. We also ordered the tuna mayo sandwich platter. There was no mayo in the sandwiches. The retro chocolate milkshake didn’t come with a spoon so we had to use a soup spoon to eat the whipped cream with. It isn’t made clear on ordering that you need to collect your own cutlery. The cold drinks selection is very poor Pepsi , orange juice, ginger beer or expensive lemonade. It cost over £20 for a tuna sandwich with some crisps, a panini with wilted salad and no coleslaw, a milkshake and a bottle of Pepsi in a school canteen atmosphere. You can have a proper pub meal for that price. You need to lower your prices and expand your menu options. There are a lot of reviews raising the same issues so until there is something done about them I won’t be returning.

My first choice was breakfast, only to be told that it stopped at 12:00 (why?). I told the person taking orders that they used to do an all day breakfast and she told me that they never had! My memory is so bad these days. So I decided to have the burger instead. It arrives on a sort of wooden tray with all the sides and condiments in seperate pots. I like my food on a plate. The Vincent's welsh burger is sold at a premium price and is supposed to be locally sourced - the one I had tasted like it had been sourced from the budget freezer at the local cash and carry - no texture, just a solid lump of tough gristly meat with an unpleasant flavour. I see that most reviews here get a prompt response - I'd like whoever responds to this to try and eat one of these burgers first before commenting.

We are regulars here and love it. Disappointed today that condiments now in one place only at bottom end of cafe. We were sitting at top end and had to go whole length to get sauces. Used to have in two places. Not so easy when you have a bad hip. Mentioned it to one of girls and they just laughed. Not everyone is young or able bodied.

I love this little cafe in Vincent Davies but I don’t like the queuing process as it’s not always clear where one should stand to be served. I waited behind a customer who wanted to order food, there were three or four staff behind the counter and I only wanted a coffee and a tea. No one caught my eye, and I think it would be a great idea if there was a queue for drinks only. Anyway, griping over, once ordered and paid for, at least they bring it to the table. Nice, normal-sized coffee, and a dinky little pot on a bamboo serving tray for the tea. Looked to see if I could buy the teapot and bamboo tray set instore, but it’s not available. Perhaps Vincent Davies could market their wares in their shop. I’d certainly buy the teapot and tray combo!

took Day visitor for lunch. Waited nearly an hour for food which was not wonderful when it came. (cold) Then waited again for tea and cake. Altogether a very poor experience and a totally wasted afternoon. at great expense, before my visitor had to go home. Won't be doing this again. Wish we gone to the seafront for fish and chips.

I’m a regular customer of Vincent Davies , having something to eat and drink every time I go. Impressed with the refurbishment but alas to my horror cutting corners on the food. What have you done with the sandwiches, stabbing with a wooden stick will not convince me it tastes as good as it used to, did you pop to the garage next door for the bread, very let down, should have gone to co op.

food unappetizing and became ill withing hours of eating there. The cafe hasn't been the same since it was refurbished a couple of years : this isn't the first time the food has been disappointing. Won't be going there again. Shame as the rest of the shop is lovely.

Have eaten here before but our visit on the 24th April to the restaurant proved very disappointing. The cawl on this visit was poor value, not a very large bowl but made worse as it contained a potatoe the size of an egg thus not leaving room in the dish for much else! The cheese and pickle sandwich contained a very measly amount of filling and was certainly not value for money.

Was a bit weary at first suggesting breakfast at Vincent Davies as I had been there the previous week and had a dry almond slice or triangle of it with tea, was not happy!! I have to say the breakfast redeemed the place, you could substitute items which not a lot of places do, the food was piping hot and plenty of it and was so tasty. The only draw back was grilled tomatoes which i thought would be cut in half and grilled, not left whole - please can you change this??? Tip top breakfast which we had at 9.30am, it is now 6pm and havent eaten anything since!!! Really would recommend this place for breakfast, dont think you could be disappointed and not too costly either!! The service was quick and lovely staff at the counter taking our order, dont know her name but she had a slight gap in her top teeth, seriously helpful and so friendly, that is what you call top customer service, so well done we will be back again!!

Well Vincent davies has a huge history. I find the Cafe Vincent is the draw to get people in. Unfortunately extremely expensive, annoying to starters cost of hot drinks. Check size of cups really? Can't have basics toast, after 12 most meals fall into £10+ bracket. Staffing is varied today she had customer care to a tea. Need to relax smile more. Vincent Davies, needs to expand to every class, and price range

Valentines Eve Dinner Breakfast 'stuff' left out on the side tables No atmosphere what so ever and no mention of valentines day bar the cheap printed menu Grunge style waitresses with unkempt hair and seriously downtime outfits totally inappropriate for this kind of place. No style no finesse such a shame when the venue is really quite special 35 mins wait for 1st course to arrive No bread, no crudités Terribly mediocre food No condiments No table cloths, table left dirty No glasses cleared away 2 courses both had components missing had to tell waitress That lot cost around 130.00

The Contented Sole, Narberth. I’ve never, ever had as much batter on fish in a chip shop before. It was about 1/2 inch thick and slimmie. The fish itself was ok. The chips were ok. Not great, just ok. Look at how much batter was left at the end and I eat some!
