Vina Pho in County Durham

Loved it, the waitress was brilliant and the food delicious. The summer rolls were great, and the tofu is really good also, sometines it can be hit and miss but it was tasty. My husband was warned about the spicy sauce and ate it anyway, it was like watching someone be killed by something they love. He said it was very good spicy sauce.

No nonsense, simple menu but great tasting, freshly prepared dishes. There was plenty of food to satisfy a hungry appetite. Service was really quick and efficient. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a quick, tasty filling meal in a clean, simple restaurant.

Cafe syle layout very informal. Was quiet for our visit, but good hot food, served quickly and reasonably priced. Enjoyed the beef pho, i also had summer rolls. Coffee is very sweet and even if ordered hot is served in a squash glass.

They know what they’re doing here at Vina Pho! Small menu but packs a punch, great flavours, super fresh ingredients and a nice relaxed atmosphere. We had summer rolls (prawn, chicken and beef) and traditional spring rolls to start. Mains we had beef noodle soup, grilled pork vermicelli bowl, chicken curry and an egg fried rice with prawns. Superb flavours and excellent value for money

Everyone was very pleased with their meal and I personally think it's the best curry I've ever eaten, will definitely be visiting again. Great job, thanks 😊

the only reason I can give for living in gilesgate. I moved away from the area 6 months ago and I still think about the crispy spring rolls every day.

Came in last night for some food, fairly quiet so the food came out very quickly. Had a Vermicelli Grilled Chicken Bowl, and the portions were huge (made the mistake of not reading other reviews ha). Cannot complain about how delicious it was though. Will be back!

I am so happy I found another good restaurant in Durham. We tried the rolls, chicken and beef pho. Everything was well made with good ingredients.

The food here is always great. Portions are really big so don't overdo it when ordering! Traditional grilled pork is our favourite thing on the menu - the fried egg on top of the rice is absolute perfection. We tried the chicken version but the pork is hands down the best. My only gripe is that it's often quite cold in the dining area but I usually warm up with a lovely hot lemon tea ☕

Came here during a snow storm, and it was the perfect thing to warm up out of the cold! We ordered the traditional beef pho and traditional spring rolls and were not expecting the portions to be so big. The pho came with plenty of noodles, and lots of portions of beef. The Vietnamese hot tea was delicious, and so was everything else. Staff were attentive and answered questions about allergens clearly and thoroughly.

Quality ingredients you pay a little more but the quality shines thru proper beef&Chicken.

Always my favourite place to go, I often go to the restaurant every week or so but now they do delivery to my place 😌 I've had Pho from many places around the world such as London, Beijing, Copenhagen, Kraków but this will always be my favourite! However I wish it was done like it was before (September and before) where the beef was in pieces rather than slices, and veg was chopped finer. But even so, it's still my favourite place!!!

I always eat PHO soup and there is no way this is a legit PHO,the soup should be clear and NO floating oils at all.The quality of the noodles is no way near from a legit pho noodles.The fresh spring rolls doesnt look like it was made by a legit vietnamese,they just shove the ingridients without any care with the presentation.Especially the fresh spring rolls sauce,is that even a peanut butter sauce?it looks like its been watered down.I do have high expectation with vietnamese food cause its a healthy soup,this is the worst vietnamese food I had. On the good side,meat and veggies are soft.

Very delicious foods. We had veggie spring rolls which were excellent (really good pastry) followed by Pho, both mine and my husband's were full of flavour. Beware, the chilli's on the table are spicy!!

Excellent small Vietnamese restaurant. Recently took the family here for a meal and everyone agreed they enjoyed the meal. The girl serving and chef happily split one dish between two of my grandchildren I really only expected an extra plate but they did all the work. I would happily have given a tip but there was no feature on the card reader to do this.

Got a delivery to my workplace for lunch and was very happy. Lots of food - enough to feed me for two meals that day and such authentic flavours that I've never experienced in the North East. Took me back to happy times visiting Vietnam! Would recommend!

Took the whole family and everyone was massively impressed! Food was absolutely delicious, none of us had been to a Vietnamese restaurant before but we will definitely be making a habit of it now! Portion sizes were absolutely huge as well, to the point where they'd be well within their rights to serve 1/2 or 3/4 of what they did and it would still be worth every penny. I had the traditional beef noodle soup. If your on the fence just go honestly you'll love every mouthful.

I’ve travelled a lot and vina pho is one of the best places over ever ate at Some of the best food I’ve ever had and I’m not exaggerating, I ate here two nights in a row when working way the young lady that served me was very helpful and recommended me on what to try, the flavours were incredible and the portions are very generous and also very well priced, I recommend anyone to eat here.. exceptional 👏🏻

The food is excellent! I love the soup here and I am a regular online delivery customer. Despite a misunderstanding about food modification today, they replaced the dish promptly which was much appreciated.

Summer rolls were very big and (arguably) generous, but would have liked more fresh veg/less noodles as a starter - they were so filling! Nice to have more of a balance there. The accompanying sauce was 9/10 though - delicious. Very accommodating to vegan requirements (no egg), and my stir fried noodles had generous veggies and tofu, and overall also great portion size! The beef pho my partner had "excellent broth, generous quantities of beef and noodles - very filling". Perhaps more veggies here too, though. Overall, incredible value for money and we'll be back sooner, rather than later!

The traditional beef pho was very average. The rice noodles are tender and smooth. The beef was of varying shapes, thick, overcooked and difficult to chew. Authentic Vietnamese raw beef in Hanoi is missing all the coriander, coriander, onions, bean sprouts, etc. The restaurant also failed to provide chilli padi and lime due to shortage. There is MSG in the soup base. The spring rolls are very crispy, filling and delicious.

Had seen it from the bus home from work and saw it had good reviews. Got there as it opened and it soon filled up on a Saturday lunchtime. Had King prawn noodle soup and iced lemon tea. Friendly staff and good food.

What a little gem this place is. The team are really helpful, and if you have intolerances will talk you through what may be suitable on the menu. The food is absolutely wonderful.

OMG BEST FOOD EVER. 1st time trying Vietnamese business and it's now our favourite. Speedy delivery of fresh cooked dishes, not sure what we ordered bur it was delicious and bursting with flavours. Great value for money, massive portions.

Fabulous food as usual prawn curry, chicken pho, grilled pork, summer rolls and spring rolls. Delivery driver lovely! Think it was just an issue with finding a driver!

Spring roles and curry are Amazing. The Pho (classic or bun bo hue) is also good but I've had others that appealed to my palate more because they had a beefier flavour (these ones don't at all). It's still nice, and way less effort than going to the butchers to buy beef bones and boil them for hours. Still it's nothing like the Bun Bo Hue that I fell in love with in London and California.

I had the stir fried rice stick noodles (prawn) and the vegetable spring rolls. both were very tasty, fresh and good portions. recommended.

Pretty sure they forgot to make my order because it took 20 mins to get to me when I arrived to pick it up. They were very apologetic and mistakes happen. It's a small shop and they're always busy (because the food is amazing) so I think they get overwhelmed sometimes. Either way, really enjoyed the meal.

Delivery times estimate delayed twice. So late we had decided we wouldn’t use this service again.Problem was said to be that drivers were busy and hadn’t been assigned. When I commented to the driver about the delay he said he’d been sat waiting for half an hour at the restaurant. But the food was so good and authentic that we will try again and hope delivery system works better next time.

Lovely little Vietnamese restaurant. It's the first one I have been to so I have no comparison, but compared to other Asian restaurants and for the price which seems cheap, the food was very delicious and full of flavour. Atmosphere is quite chilled, with lovely decor. More of a cafe vibe. The service was quick but surprisingly they weren't busy on a Saturday afternoon. I would love to come here again and I will recommend it to friends and family. Thank you ❤️

I've ordered the Hua soup before and it was lovely but this time it was just way off. Its marked down as hot but this one was unbearably spicy to the point I couldn't eat it and very watery. The one before had just enough spice and was full of flavour. I had the vegetable rolls aswell which where decent but disappointed about the soup as that was the reason I ordered.

Hue beef noodles I'd have to give a 3 out of 10 they're meant to be spicy mine where really bland summer rolls 6.5 out of 10 quite tasty I enjoyed them and finally the traditional spring rolls 9 out of 10 very tasty best thing I ordered

I had a lovely dinner at this restaurant and it’s probably the best Vietnamese food I have had. The service was great, the pork summer rolls and beef curry were delicious, as was the Vietnamese coffee. The food was very reasonably priced as well: my coffee and 2 course meal was £20. Highly recommend. It would have been perfect if the restaurant was warmer, I came in from the snow & was freezing!.

Great to finally have an authentic Vietnamese place right in Durham! We have been regulars here since it opened and over the past 4-5 months it has only become better and better with regular delicious additions to the menu. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff are friendly and the food is fantastic- highly recommend the beef pho and hue style pho.
