Fabulous restaurant. True family run business, fantastic food and wonderful service. They always make it such a great evening for us and our friends, absolutely love it x

I ordered takeaway this evening. Although the food was tasty, I would suggest if you are hungry, don't bother! For instance, my curry had three pieces of chicken!

A wonderful experience, very tasty well prepared food, Bangladeshi cuisine (not common in County Durham), chatty friendly owner who was front of house, good portion control - not too much, not too little. Pleasant ambience, not pretentious.

Hidden gem of a curry house. Food is fantastic as are the staff and prices very reasonable for the quality. And it's BYOB too.

This was amazing best night during our stay in durham. The food was so good I ate more than I had in weeks. My husband being vegan had vegetable masala and I had tikka chicken both had a nan, and a side dish. We wanted to go again. Only criticism I would give is the waiter was a little too chatty for my liking but he was charming and think this was part of his personality.

Takeaway food was only half way up the tray. I complained via phone and was told "You do what you have to do" So here I am doing it. If I'd wanted a half portion I would have expected to pay half. This place isn't cheep to start with. Very dismissive and poor service. Does not even have a card machine which works. Won't be hurrying back

Amin's Spice was recommended when we were staying at The Cottage, Hilltop Stables, and the meal we had delivered was delicious. Friendly and helpful service on the phone, easy payment by app/link, and it came hot and slightly earlier than expected. If we were closer, we'd definitely be ordering again!

Curried are pretty nice, menu is good with plenty of different dishes. The korma was a bit weird. Only complaint is the price point - quite small portions for something so expensive. Takeaway for 2 people costs 50 quid, can eat out for that. Still one of my favourites in the area - I like their daal a lot. Naans could be much bigger, starters could be bigger also.

Absolutely terrible! Ordered tonight for convenience before nightshift after not going for long time due to food been disgusting and staffs attitudes! Naan Bread missing from my order to which I rang to be told I hadn’t ordered it nor paid for it. I said everytime we go there is an issue (which there is) hence us not going for a long time and was just cause it was convenient tonight! For them to reply well look elsewhere for your Naan Bread and hung up!!! Disgusting and will definitely not be back. Food and service appalling. Do not recommend!!!!

Only order from here because the takeaway in Sacriston has awful korma sauce now. Pre Ordered online onion bhaji, bombay aloo, plain chicken curry, chicken korma, mushroom pilau and peas pilau for 18.35 through the Food Hub on Friday 28th July. The doorbell rang and from the moment I opened the door I was threatened by the driver why hadn't I answered my mobile phone I have rang six times. I replied because my phone never rang and I proved that. He still insisted on getting his phone to check he had the right contact number which he did and only then did he have to back down. It made me feel very uncomfortable to be threatened like this. The currys and bombay aloo tasted OK. My mushroom pilau had a black hair in it. Peas pilau and mushroom pilau tasted ok. The onion bhaji was extremely greasy and the yellow sauce that accompanied it tasted of nothing. I complained through the Food Hub site but am still waiting for a reply so sent a message on Messenger and again no reply. We certainly won't be going here again. Been recommended My Marsala in Chester le Street.

I had the lamb biryani which i asked if i could have it little spicy also opted for a tarka dall instead of traditional curry sauce which complimented it well. I was actually surprised as i havent had a decent one in a very long time, kudos to the chef. Thanks again Amin Spice will be back when im working up there again.

The staff were exceptionally friendly. The food was good and nicely cooked. We were not aware that alcohol was not available but had coke instead. My only complaint was the price which was nothing like the prices shown in the menu. £4.50 just for the pickle tray and £9.00 for the two cokes seems a bit excessive.

Tried for the first time tonight and can honestly say best indian takeaway I've had

This is my local Indian and I always enjoy my meal but tonight's was disturbing. I ordered the aroma curry wich my husband has eaten for years, imagine my horror when I found out they had added tinned fruit cocktail to my food! Yes, I found several grapes and a bright red glacé cherry floating around my chicken korma!!! At least try and hide the unusual ingredients you added without my knowledge, never ever again.

The staff are very friendly and always willing to help you decide on the best combinations of food. If you want to try a very hot curry, then give the toofan a try. It is definitely one of the hottest I have tried.

We had a good range of food, two starters including the fish Macher Chatney.. Very nice! Mains were excellent and included a Mirchi which had a nice level of spice and won't blow your face off. All well cooked, lovely lamb and everything full of flavour. Would recommend to anybody.

We visited the restaurant a couple of weeks ago with another couple. The food was great, my husband tried one of their new starters and mains and he said they were very good. We all enjoyed the night. Service is always good and friendly. Already looking forward to my next visit. Costs are always very reasonable when you can take your own beer/wine.

Visited here for a take away for the first time yesterday evening as we were passing and will certainly be back. Customer service from entering was excellent, gentleman working on the bar spent the time to talk to both me and my daughter whilst we had a short wait for our order. The food was beautiful, We ordered a mixture of curries, naan breads, rice and onion bhajis and all enjoyed it, there was clear plates all around.

Very friendly service excellent advice on choosing dishes.Food is fresh and exciting and no service charge.

We used to stay in Langley Park and came here first just after the restaurant opened about 17 years ago and we thought the food was superb. We haven't been for some years but were determined to come back and we are very pleased to report the food is still top notch. We had keema peas and Malay chicken with Bombay Aloo, egg pilau and a peshwari naan. Everything was lovely, really tasty and not too greasy. The owner is very friendly and chatty. We definitely will not leave it as long before we visit again.

Love these guys, always try and coerce them to part company with the chef (their Dad) and fit him into my local rezzie, the food is always superb and the raportee is brilliant.

Be carefull about the bill! We have been going to Amin's Spice off and on for four years, and have always found the food very good. We had noticed that the prices were rising lately, but that did not prepare us for what happened when we went there there last Friday night and ordered as usual from the menu. The food was fine, but when the bill arrived we noticed that the prices totted up were considerably higher than the prices shown on the menu. For example a main meal shown on the menu at £8.50 was charged at £10 and a vegetarian meal shown at £7.50 was charged at over £9. Boiled rice was £4.95! In all, we were expecting a bill of £24-25, but were billed over £30. When we challenged this they said the menus were "backed up", and their prices were increased because their costs had risen. This may be true, but they could have put a sticker on the menus saying the prices had increased, or they could have given a verbal warning when the menus were presented to table, but they did neither. We only learned the new prices when we were presented with the bill. When I went to school such practises were known as fraud, and I am still deciding whether to involve Trading Standards, but we certainly won't be going back there.

Spur of the moment decision to come here to try and get a table to eat in this restaurant, as I was in Langley Park. Unfortunately, I was told that they were only open for takeaways… when I said, ‘oh no’ and explained I was staying in an Airbnb, Amin (the owner) immediately said I could sit and eat in. This was just the start of a superb experience. The food was fantastic, one of the best Chicken Biriyani I have had for a long time, with a wonderfully spiced madras sauce and a perfect peshwari naan. Not only was the food great, but Amin’s hospitality and friendliness made me feel very welcome and at home. This was a wonderful welcome to Langley Park, given that I will hopefully be moving here very soon! I can thoroughly recommend Amin’s Spice, and I can see myself eating here (or getting a takeaway) quite a lot! Everything was perfect!

Amins is the most consistent and wonderful Indian food I have ever tasted (and I’ve been round a bit!). Amazing food, staff just superb, attentive, friendly and nothing is a problem for them. Food just delightful but you can ask for anything you’d like to change or add - 5 star treatment every time. This place and staff are second to none - just amazing!!.

Take away this evening from Amin’s Spice. Excellent food as usual, freshly prepared to order and great value. Keep up the fantastic service chaps.

Amins is quite off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Whilst visiting our son I looked on Trip Advisor for a curry restaurant. There seemed very few in Durham compared to other cities but Amins was not far from where our son is currently living so we thought w would try it. So pleased we did. The previous reveiws are true to their words. The guys running the place are so friendly and accommodating and the food was excellent. A huge variety it was difficult to choose just one. Although we are now home our son will certainly be visiting again.

Great service with friendly staff

We decided to give our local Indian a try for 1st time in years. Fab takeaway experience and food. Very welcoming staff, all 8 items we ordered (there was a 7 dish special for Sunday night) were lovely. The 2 groups I saw dining looked to be enjoying themselves too.

Visiting family in the area this was our first visit to Amins Spice. The restaurant is well furnished and comfortable. Staff seem keen and pleasant. The food itself was very good, nice poppadoms with a decent pickle tray. Starters and main courses were excellent, served hot and well spiced. It is a bring your own, but plenty of outlets available close at hand. Overall a really good meal in a very good restaurant. Hopefully will return in the future.

What a pleasant evening we spent with friends at this little excellent Indian restaurant . The banter the Amin family was a added plus , hence the review title ( you take your own booze as they only serve soft drinks ) . Food was spot on ,and catered for my wife's gluten free needs .

The title of the review says it all really . A small little restaurant tucked away in Langley park which we had never been to before (Teessiders ) it was well worth the run out . The Amin's have great craic ,and made the evening for our party of four fun . Food was excellent ( they only serve soft drinks , but welcome you to take your own). We would recommend this place and would return .Looked after my wife's gluten free needs .

Absolutely fantastic service yet again. Been coming here for over 5 years and never been disappointed. Always to your required taste whether additional chili or garlic are added it is never a problem. Always a friendly face to welcome you as you arrive. Highly recommended.

Had an amazing takeaway yesterday and the food was spot on, spicy and tasty packed with tender meat and chicken. And the naan bread was very soft and can taste the actual flavors 😋. I've ordered chicken tikka shashlik with garlic naan which was super tasty. Food packing was also clean and live the service.

Fantastic family run business in Langley Park, we often eat in the restaurant but the takeaway is packaged well and prepared equally as well. Highly recommend you try Amins Spice.

WE have just finished a takeaway from here and had to write this.We have lived in this village for two years and cant understand why we have never used this place until now.This has to be one of the best curries I and my partner have ever had, and we have had curries all over the UK and Europe.The food arrived less than 20 minutes after phoning in the order and was piping hot.Everything we had Bahji,s, Naan Bread, Pilau Rice and both the Bhuna and Balti were superb.Wont be going anywhere else in future.

High standards of Covid rules in place. Staff very attentive and accommodating to requiremets. Food beautifully cooked and fresh. All in all good time was had.

Our first sit in Indian restaurant meal since the lockdown. Although we've had a few great lockdown takeaways from here. Excellent quality food, our favourite Indian restaurant! The staff our always attentive and fun. We felt very safe, they are very well organised with the current Covid situation. So we will return.

Can not express how happy we are to have this place open again for the restaurant...food and service amazing, the guys go out of there way to make you feel at home and well cared for and happy with your choice of food .. would seriously recommend, if you can not find what you want on the menu.. the guys will certainly helpto meet your taste 😁

My son has got the Thursday special. The main and rice just warm and tasteless. Popdom like rubber and nana bread cold and hard. Won't be ordering a special again..

Another excellent speedy takeaway. A word of warning dont have the tikka naan "snack"...unless you havent eaten for a week! I was just after a snack it's huge packed with tikka and absolutely delicious. 🤩

Due to Corona had home delivery. First food was boiling hot. Second arrived within the hour. Third food was absolutely amazing. Chicken maska is my fave, thick flavour some sauce with chunks of chicken. Wife felt bitter chicken could have been a bit more buttery but still delicious. First time our Corona guests have had Amin but they loved it. Well done keep up the good work.

Amins spice has made the lockdown so much more bearable. The food is excellent and delivered by my favourite ‘the good looking one’. We have never been disappointed, usually visiting the restaurant but in these times it has been brilliant to have the food delivered. We take all our friends and family to this restaurant. Great service as usual. Home delivery service due to the current situation, this is great for people in isolation. Pay by card and they leave the food at the door, ideal. The food was delicious. To my friends the Amin family, stay safe and healthy.

I am a regular visitor living local to Langley Park, Food is superb and all the staff really friendly and helpful....don't talk cricket or you will be there until closing.. Friends and relations from the south of England have been gob smacked by the quality of the food and the price, never mind the friendliness of all the staff. Went with friends for the second time and it was as good as the first. Everything was fabulous from the starters to the main course. Some different dishes on a large menu and something for everyone. Staff are amazing and make you feel very welcome. Can’t wait for my third visit. Highly recommended

We have recently moved to Langley Park and our new neighbour recommended Amins Spice. Great recommendation, so pleased we took her advice. We ordered food to take out and it was superb, really really delicious. We will certainly be back soon.

Best Indians I've had from a takeaway. Gorgeous flavours, excellent customer service and speedily delivery to Ushaw Moor for my first ever try of their food. I was very impressed. Naan bread was beautiful which makes a change around here, as nearly all the other local takeaways don't seem to how to cook a naan properly (always sent black/burnt)

Wednesday night, very accommodating. Unreal starters and popadoms with all the carry on, lime chilli was outstanding. Bring your own alcohol wasn’t a problem. Brought our staff here. Food piping hot and very well presented. Starters try the chef special mixed meat absolutely delicious. Mains chicken korma and madrass with veg Pilau and keema nann, all on point. Company good atmosphere good. Decor lovely and chairs comfy enough. Quieter mon-wed and busy thurs-Sunday. Would def recommend and come back again with more staff.

Always excellent quality food, have eaten in the restaurant and as take away many times. Never disappoints! Staff are welcoming and service is very good. Would highly recommend.

My favourite restaurant for excellent Indian food, food tonight delicious as usual but the service makes the visit extra special, the staff are always friendly and welcoming which is why i keep going back.

I ate at this restaurant Saturday 13th April. The food was quite good but it took a full hour and forty minutes to arrive - it seems they give priority to takeaway customers and those in the restaurant are made to wait. I was there with young children of one and four (which they could see) but only after prompting did it occur to the staff to make an effort to bring out their food earlier. The waiter was complaining / cracking jokes about how busy he was ("If you need anything, don't ask me") which was totally inappropriate and when, with the children getting hungry we asked whether our food could be brought out soon he got very defensive and said we "Would have to be patient." My mum has also experience similar service here. I will not be going again.

Best Indian restaurant by far, try it

We’ve just moved to Ushaw Moor so trying out the local takeaway. I can’t recommend Amins highly enough. We’ve just had 4 Bombay boxes which are the takeaway meal deals they do on a Sunday. Such good value for money. The food was amazing and loads of it. Staff on the phone and who delivered were also really friendly. We’ll definitely be using them again.

Thanks so much to the wonderful staff of Amin's Spice who made my husband's birthday celebration so very special. They didn't just provide a lovely meal for 45 people but put up decorations in the restaurant, kept us organised, amused us, put up with us, got several of us to and from the restaurant in a taxi! It was a bonus that we could save by bringing our own alcohol :-)

Well what can I say I can’t speak highly enough of this restaurant been comming for years now always good service and good banter with the staff without been overly attentive food is amazing different from normal curry houses but with so many different dishes and flavours I’ve tried nearly all the dishes on the menu and haven’t found a one I dislike can recommend the akabari if you like a chilli kick without it been to hot ! Had the lamb and pumpkin curry tonight for Halloween amazing flavour. Special nights are Sunday tues Thursday which are fab value for money popudums, pickes, starter main course , any rice, nann bread and coffee think it’s £12.95 eat in .clean lovely place comfortable seating great immaculately clean toilets lovely ambience well worth a visit if you are in the area or just want to try it believe me you will be glad you did

I have eaten at numerous Indian restaurants, some are good, some are not so good. This restaurant is superb, the furniture and decor is tasteful, the service is friendly,the prices are very reasonable, the food is a culinary delight to the senses, absolutely excellent.
