Dee's Thai Cafe in County Durham

Very good food. Decided to give this place a go the other week. We had a box meal and salt/pepper fries. It was tasty. The place inside doesn't look the most advertising, reason for dropping a star.

Genuinely the best Thai food I've had whilst in the UK, in Murton of all places! Quick, very good prices and generous portions. I'll be a regular here if they keep this up. Authentic, cooked by Thai ladies. Bravo 👏👏👏👏

Amazing. Best Asian/oriental takeaway food in the area and we’ve tried them all! Don’t be put off by the “Thai” name, it’s the same type of food you’d get at a Chinese takeaway, but far better. You can just tell that everything is made with a little bit more quality and care. I hope this little place does well. We will be using them again and again.

Food from simply thai is so fresh and so nice best place for me to go for food hands down don't think about ordering get it ordered you won't regret it

Big fan of this place, so lucky to have a Thai restaurant near us up north. Food arrived within an hour and was nice and hot. Flavours are brilliant! Pad Kee Mao could be spicier though

I have used dees a couple of times for takeout and it is amazing. We always had chinese food locally from us but I wanted to try Dees and we have always gone there instead of any other take out since! The food is always piping hot, the crying tiger is amazing, the beef is such good quality unlike some of these takeouts in the area. I couldn't recommend them enough! I just wish there was more to eat even though the food portions are generous it just never seems enough :)!

Picked our takeaway up last night, on recommendation from our son. We were not disappointed, it was a little spicy for me (I'm a right wuss when it comes to spicy food) but so so tasty. Will definitely go back again.

Visited Dee,s for the first time last week, Thai red king prawn curry was lovely, Massaman curry was extremely nice but with quite a lot of oil resting on the top, the chicken Pad Thai wasn't very good it was a big portion but it was nearly all noodles with about 6 beansprouts and about 5 pieces of spring onion and nothing else except some very chewy chicken, chips were nice. Will use again but definitely won't be getting Pad thai

I’m a huge fan of Thai food, and this is by far the tastiest I’ve had in the UK. The papaya salad in particular was incredible - so many flavours. Two Thai ladies were preparing the food in the open plan kitchen, so it’s likely authentic. Very cheap, too. Highly recommended!

Honest review!!! Do not in a million years consider this place!! I actually thought the delivery I received was a prank! This is not Thai whatsoever!! Not even close! They couldn’t tie a tie!! Seriously tho absolute rip off frozen crap bought from Iceland!! Thai squid!!! What an absolute insult to REAL Thai chefs!! As one would say you have time to learn from mistakes! Unfortunately in your case hang up the jacket and move on!! You are a joke! And a disgrace to the Thai food cuisine!!!

Fast delivery and food was red hot when arrived. The food was beautiful as well and super tasty. Will definitely be getting from here again 10/10

Food is good we liked it but I find little salty. Would appreciate more if not too much salt put in.

This is my first time ordering takeaway from here; I very much enjoyed it… but have some mixed opinions. I’m not a fan of having my Thai food delivered in pizza boxes. That is my first nit pick We paid £5 for the Salt & Pepper Chilli Prawns. As you can see from the picture that only paid for legit 4 of them. They were nice but not worth £1.25 a prawn. The Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodle) is DELICIOUS. I would say I wish it was a little more spicy though, but the taste profile was perfect. Portion sizes are generous too. We got “salt and pepper chips” which were the worst thing out of the lot… no one could finish them. Just chips in hot sauce. Pic provided. The fried rice was also more like boiled, was a little tasteless compared to the amazing Thai rice I’ve had in the past. It was all delivered fast though, around 45 mins. So there’s good and bad points. I will be ordering again, but I wouldn’t rave about the place

I love the food from here. It tastes so much fresher than other places. The crying tiger is unreal. She made me salt & chilli chips before which aren’t even on the menu and they were AMAZING! Love it!

This is the best takeaway by far, have been using them for a while now and they are excellent everytime. The service and delivery are brilliant. The food is absolutely delicious, great portion sizes and extremely good value for money. Long may they keep trading. 110% recommend anyone to try them you will not be disappointed.

I have visited Dees cafe many times. I am frankly astounded that anyone could think the meals are microwaved. If you are sitting in you can actually watch Dee cook your meal with all fresh ingredients. The last time I was in she was actually preparing the filling for the spring rolls with all fresh vegetables. Please give it a try I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

I keep returning to Dee's because the food is freshly prepared (before your eyes if you go in for a takeaway) and delicious. Dee is warm and friendly and tries to tailor your food to your needs. Highly recommend.

being one of the few Thai restaurants in the near by area, I tried dees cafe. I ordered for collection, ordering chicken pad Thai, spring rolls, and salt and pepper chips. All which were a clearly microwaved meal, the noodles in the pad Thai were stuck together in clumps and wobbled like jelly. The pad Thai stuck to the shape of the plastic container when emptied onto a plate, not budging and being tough to separate, clearly not a fresh meal. Would not recommend. Really disappointed as I heard great things.

Lovely place, nice food , friendly staff and helpfull. It may be small but its nicely decorated, if you fancy something thats not on the menu , ask and they may be able to cook it for you .
