Carsons Cafe Bar in County Durham

Full English breakfast at 10 a.m. on a blustery Saturday. Food was - outstanding. Really good quality, cooked well. Only slight "whinge" is that you can't alter the Full English - you get what's on the menu. Service was fast, pleasant and efficient. Atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, without being rowdy. Great background music. £24 for 2 (very) Full English and teas.

Two words: ABSOLUTELY AMAZING 🤩! Lovely ambience, food finger licking good , great choice of cocktails and soft drinks. Staff is super friendly. Highly, highly, highly recommended.

Excellent food and service. A very welcoming place with very friendly and helpful staff. If I had to complain about anything I would say it would be nice to offer some proper beer. It doesn't need to be on draught, the option of a nice bottle of real ale would have been a good choice for me and I sure others would appreciate it too.

Carson's is a go to cafe bar situated on Chester le street front street, with small area to sit outside as well as comfortable seating inside. Is dog friendly. Food is excellent quality, tea and coffee always served in lovely hot cups, which is a plus for me. Staff very friendly and helpful. Definitely best place to go!

Walked in without a booking and with our dog. Sat at a table immediately by very friendly staff. I had fajitas and they were absolutely spot on. We will be back to try the breakfasts!

I can't do anything other than recommend this place. I've been a few times. Sometimes just for a cuppa and other times for drinks and food. I love the tapas food on the afternoon menu. The place is lovely and clean, food is really tasty and the staff - well, I can't do anything but recommend these also, always welcoming and attentive- nothing is ever a problem. I have to admit, this is definitely a favourite place to go. And I definitely love their gin choices.

We love carsons! We go quite regularly with our dog Cooper. All food has been gorgeous. Hot drinks are tasty & cold beverages are great. We have done the bottomless prosecco & loved it! The staff are super welcoming & friendly!

This little restaurant is a hidden gem! The decor....I love it! Little stage lights hanging from the ceiling and mirrors on the wall that look like windows. They also have a few fake trees that add to an autumn aesthetic. The staff were really nice and the food was 1st rate! It was delicious, we didn't wait long, not that we would've minded because the atmosphere is so relaxing and the seating very comfortable. This is my new favourite venue for a meal out.

Beautiful little cafe/bar. Food was nice, service was quick and the atmosphere is very chilled with theoe lighting. It was busy when we were there but it wasn't noisy

Can’t fault this place. Excellent food, brilliant friendly staff and great atmosphere. Lovely place to eat. 6 of us went and bill was £160 between us which included a chicken curry, chicken fajitas, 2 big pizzas, 2 portions of loaded fries, baked Camembert, belly pork, 3 bottles of wine, 3 pints and 3 gin and tonics. Looking forward to going again.

We called as a group of four adults for an evening meal and found it absolutely beautiful. Great value great taste and a great price.Highly recommend.

First visit,but will be back,friend had bacon and egg buttie i opted for dippy eggs n soldiers WOW,coffee's the best,a young man served us and he was pleasant helpfull but best of all had a sense of humour,being near christmas the decor was stunning,but overall a welcoming relaxed,Oh and before i forget the chocolates with coffee were a treat,going later in the day next time,because you can get coffee with a shot bailies or whatever floats your boat ❤👌👌

Popped into Carsons today for breakfast....have passed by it numerous times but never tried....I can see this place as a regular stop off now. Decor inside was a surprise, as it is very unassuming from the outside. Lots of seating, staff were friendly and chatty. Coffee was nice, and the breakfast was made with good quality ingredients and well cooked. I have booked again for the boozy tapas, can't wait to try again.

Second time we've been here and it's stunning. From the outside it looks like any bar/restaurant very smart but once you step inside it's mind blowing, it is decorated amazingly, with wild forest murals adorning the walls and fake autumnal trees dotted about, everything from the lights to the seating had been thought about in great detail. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food is so delicious with a good choice. Would highly recommend 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Would give 5* however £9:00 for a bloody mary...Bloody expensive!

I didn't have any food, just a coffee. I was surprised that the coffee wasn't expensive, judging by the ambuance. The staff are friendly and it's easily accessible.

Lush decor, good drinks and decent food! Would be nice to have some better vegetarian options but worth it for the overall experience :)

Visited this place a few days back. Was very excited to come to this place due to good reviews, but was a bit let down. The waitress seemed liked she was not very happy, we had to wait a long time for our food. The food itself was a mixed bag, I really liked my meal but my wife's was somewhat dissapointing. The coffee was a bit weak. Wouldn't go out of my way to come here again but would probably come back if I was nearby.

My first visit and I was very impressed. The food was a little slow to be served, but the lovely atmosphere and friendly staff will mean I'll be back.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch with friends. Poached eggs on sourdough toast and decaff coconut flat white. Coffee wasn't as nice as Costa, but all in all a lovely lunch.

Best breakfast around, only use quality products. We go there regularly and has become our go to place in chester le street. Staff are very friendly and the decor in the place is superb. Oh and the scones are amazing!

Lovely venue with pleasant staff and lovely coffee

Love this place, stylishly decorated throughout and staff are so friendly too, I was amazed dogs are allowed inside which is very nice as we can enjoy eating out with a drink along with our four legged family member too. They have a good menu to choose from and slways eager to oblige if there's something to take out of your order if you dont like it. They do a skinny cappuccino 👏 which I love but unfortunately that has now taken second place as I've totally fallen for the delicious Expresso Martini, even got my name on one, a nice touch 😋. Recommend Carsons.

Fabulous veggie full breakfast highly recommended

First drop in for a coffee to this fabulous little café and we were very very impressed! The decor, lighting and ambience is absolutely perfect, coupled with friendly, prompt and helpful service. So good we decided to have a bite to eat…flatbread breakfast for hubby and a warm cheese scone for me, coupled with hot tasty coffee, all served on beautiful crockery and stylish copper cutlery…what’s not to like about this place! Will certainly be back to try some of the lunch/evening foods on offer.

This is a perfect place to pop in for lunch. We went in for coffee and sat in the sun. I was impressed when I went inside as it is a very pleasant environment. I will be back for lunch!

Called in for a drink on the way home pleasantly surprised with how good the decor and ambiance is. Spoke with Carol who was really helpful and explained the menus etc. We intend to return to try the tapas menu - give this place a try.
