Village Tandoori in East Lothian

It has been closed for a while, and opening as a chip shop, in November.

You can order what you want from the menu but they decide it's it's not what you actually want and serve up completely different food! Refuse to take credit cards despite having a credit card reader. Place is a bad joke, avoid.

Disappointed waste of money, ordered meal deal pizza and donner kebab with chips. Donner meat was dry and old had obviously been left sitting in heat, coverd with salad and sauce so as to disguise the fact it was a dogs dinner unfit for consumption. Chips were soggy and partially cooked. Pizza was the only star as it was the only edable thing we ordered.

First time here after recommendations from a friend. Ordered the Chicken Madras and have to say it was the best I've tasted in a long while. Need to try a very hot "Tindaloo" if they do this such a thing and it's not just myth and must remember to put the toilet roll in freezer though.

Useto be good when it first opened but went down hill, food is often undercooked and not hygienic

Pure rotten!! Was in the other week for grub an the place is minging seen the guy drop mushrooms on the floor an didny put them in the bin. Burgers are precooked and warmed up and the doner meat is hard and cold probably fi the night before. Pizzas no bad but probably the only hing cooked fresh in the shop If you wana be ill this is the best place to eat like!

Kabab cold tasted old meat chips was hard never eat here again

Food was very average, the Korma was far too sweet and the rice with curry sauce was more like rice with a thick curry-ish paste. Garlic Naan did not have very much garlic but was still decent. Our order came to £27.92 and we got £10.08 change from £40 .... so unsure where the other £2 change went??

Shocking service. Disgusting food. Never be back here.

Refusing to give me buy one get one free pizza even though it’s on there website. Then spoke to me with a raised voice. I just walked out.

I see the mixture of 1 and 5 stars reviews. I will always give them 5 stars due to amazing food but you need to look who is working at the time. That is the reason why sometimes is great sometimes is bad. I think myself they are very good... So highly recommended to everyone.

Really good tasting tandoori meat items to enjoy.at the same time warm welcomed by shop assistant. But I want to tell you something when you pay just double check your recipient and the ordered foods are right. I noticed that 2,3 times they have over charged me. Other than everything is perfect.

First time ordering from Village Tandoori and was not disappointed! The chicken was really well flavoured and moist. The Sag Paneer was really fresh and well cooked and the Nan was huge and really light, and again delicious. The food was delivered quickly.

Our first visit here and what a surprise. Excellent service with some great food recommendations. Food was exceptional, portion sizes were more than adequate. The chicken korma was a winner! We will definitely be back.

Order was over 15 mins late even though there was nobody else in the shop and not a single order came in whilst I was there (on a Saturday night). Left to pop in to another shop whilst waiting and came back along few mins later. Waited another 10mins at the counter before any staff member came through the front as they were all chatting out back behind the door. Eventually got back home and discovered that we had been given wrong order. Went back along and it was then replaced. Food was mediocre & service was poor. First time we've been but it will definitely be the last. Will stick to Itihaas in Dalkeith for a really good Indian meal next time.

Best, freshly cooked Indian food. Well worth the trip up the hill. Don't expect the food to be fast food as it is all cooked to order.
