Very overpriced. staff are terrible. Delivery very slow. Much better and reasonably priced chippies in the area.

Soggy limp chips and the fish batter was not cooked inside inedible supper I presume holiday cover working in shop as not the usual experience

Got a chicken burger and asked for a small amount of lettuce on it, there was a mountain of it and it was massively overcooked dry and also very expensive £7 for a chicken burger no chips and the way I was talked to in the shop was also quite appalling would not go back or recommend to anyone it quite frankly ruined my night completely.

I ordered a special fish supper, very good

I received a phone call from Mr Crollas Takeaway & am rather confused as to why as I live nowhere near Edinburgh. The gentleman I spoke to claimed to be from Vodafone. They hung up on me when I called him out on his shenanigans. Caller ID is a wonderful thing, don't you agree? Perhaps Mr Crolla would like to look into who is using his phoneline to make bogus calls? An apology would be nice too, but I doubt that will happen

The food was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! I was pleasantly surprised at the quantity and quality of food. Everything we ordered was a hit with the family - hot dogs, burgers, chicken-sandwich, chips and so on. We will DEFINITELY order from here again. (I'll be sharing this on Google as well)

Just finished eating the food I had delivered. I'd ordered Burger with blue cheese and mushroom, salad and chips (shared the chips with my daughter who also had a burger) The burger was the tastiest, juiciest, filling burger I've had in a long time. It filled the roll, lots of melted blue cheese and lots of mushrooms....it was absolutely delicious. It was also hot, as were the crispyish chips. Nothing soggy about this food. I can't praise it highly enough. Thanks to Mr Crollas.

Update ( a year later, since my initial review) up to 4* from two stars, fish supper was fresh and tasty, good size, price still a bit too high. Avoid, used to use regularly but past three months food became uneatable (fish supper). 3 months ago even dogs refused the fish, 2 months ago they tried then refused, today it was still a no no for me dogs eat the fish hence 2 stars. Not to mention price...

Large munchie box doesn't do a family of 6. Food was OK but slightly cold, overpriced and very greasey. Won't be ordering again

Got a donner kebab and a veggie kebab, donner was like leather solid and cold pita bread was stale, veggie kebab onions peppers and mushrooms fried the grease that was on this was horrible, both ended up in the bin best place for them! Best thing i got was the irn bru but probably because mr crollas didn’t make that!!

Okay the chips are bang on , truely cooked to perfection of chippy chips and good deals after a long day of walking climbing ect stumbled across here and do not regret it I intend on returning after pay day to try some of their other fancy things but suasuage supper done right it can only get better right ??

Always had goodexcellent delivery to the village I live in . It's not as cheap as I'd like but definitely one of the best I've tasted locally and sometimes have free delivery .

Me corollas, we’re food goes to die… I can’t believe the atrocities that they try to call edible are allowed to leave that chip shop!. The staff are cruel and very unprofessional…. My dog actually eats the pillows on the couch .. hour 4 after takeaway chips and pie haven’t moved from dog bowl. Someone has to look into this place what a waste of money 🥲

just make the prices up as they go along had same delivery twice in one week and was £6 a difference… plus don’t cut the pizza… wtf have i to roll it up and eat it like an american????? always decent food but why so expensive when u decide surely same price whenever… anyway never be back

I got a munchie box large and the American hotdog was very disappointed when it arrived as the hotdog was not an American one in was one of the hotdogs in the jar the munchie box was disappointing to the chips were warmish the pizza was poorly cooked and not cut up into slices and you don't get the option to add more toppings to the pizza like they do at superfry or Carlos the pakora was hard and very crispy and the salad had like a dried soggy coleslaw in it really not worth £27 it was my first time ordering from here and it will be my last they really need to rethink about few areas and don't false advertise my local chippy superfry or Carlos in port Seton are way better and have options to add things and the women who answered the phone the first time had a bad attitude because when I was giving her my postcode she couldn't find it not helpful a got cut of a phoned back and it was someone else who answered and they found it first time so it was the other woman's mistake

Wasn't the best chippy I've been to the fish was a bit dry but if you added some sort of ketchup it was alright all the portions where a good size definitely worth the price. Person that I thought was weird that they offered salt and sauce rather than what I would think it will come in salt and vinegar. Would not recommend getting it the tartar sauce it is not what you will expect it to be it was pretty much brown sauce watered down with vinegar.

Single fish was dry and hard batter with very little fish in it. Could not eat it at all. The chips and cheese were absolutely freezing. Should not have bothered. Never be back. £12. Waste!

Food no different to run of the mill chippy Menus on counter order my food and payed looked again at the menu to realise I wasn’t charged the price stated either on the menue or online I would mind if it was 50p or a £1 but nearly £5 of diffence chicken kebab small and kebab meat and chips £18 won’t be back and when challenged about prices I was made to feel like dirt in front of other customers

Food is okay, nothing special however it is way overpriced. Two pizzas and a portion of chips delivered is normally around £23 but from these guys is £34. Not worth the difference. Really need to to rethink their pricing.

I placed the order, I waited well over an hour and it was supposed to be about 45 minutes in the order, there was a fish that was not fresh after opening, I had to throw it into the litter, because it was so stinking, I definitely do not recommend unless someone wants to poison, have diarrhea and vomiting, I do not greet

The food at this chip shop is truly awful, the chips were very obvious disgusting reheats, the hamburgers are the cheapest I have ever tasted and this along with the awful cooking process making the whole package of a Hamburger supper inedible.

Ask for one topping on half of your pizza and a different topping (of a lesser value) on the other half but have to pay the full price for both toppings 🤯 robbing bar stewards 💰

Overall this place is fine / nothing special - it's main problem is it's not value for money. If your food is so-so / pretty standard, prices should reflect that. Cheaper or free delivery would be a big help to customer satisfaction. Pizzas and chippy food are not bad/just fine, and will probably order again, but I've been served pretty bad kebabs several times hence only 3 stars overall. Either meat was too thickly sliced (and therefore dry) or there was nowhere near enough salad and sauces in my wraps each time.

Amazing how much the price of a chippy has gone up. I wouldn’t say this place is bad but it isn’t great either. Portion sizes were generous but then again for what we spent you would think so. We ordered 2 suppers and a 12” pizza it came to over £30. Won’t be back.

Pizzas are absolutely delicious! Fresh and full of flavour - to the point where I am surprised they haven't been nominated for some kind of award!?

Regular customer usually. After tonight I won't be back, over an hour I waited for a donar meat and chips and a large chips with two buttered rolls (they're 5 minutes away) when it eventually did come, the chips were dry (despite asking for loads of sauce!) Hardly anything on the chips so in turn made the butty dry! (Blob of butter on the middle of the roll). For what you charge it should definitely be better. I'll go to Joe's next time.

Bought a Fish Supper late last night (Sunday) which was revolting. Fish batter was like concrete with hardly any fish inside. Chips were greasy. We tried returning it to Crollas today. One man said would you like a replacement. I said no as had already eaten. He offered my money back then the young guy was arrogant, awkward and said it should have been returned last night. Shocking how to treat the public.

Ordered calzone tonight. It was terrible Mushrooms and onions were raw and chicken peices were off a very low standard. Would not advise anyone to eat from there. Totally below standard.

Bought fish supper and single fish. Cost over £16 Chips were dry and fish appeared to have been in and out of frier. Maybe thinking it was a hot tub. Poor poor won't be back

Wow just what can I say apart from terrible no tasting fried food, I mean come on how can you not care about returning customers because if you did you would take more pride in using quality ingredients.

We ordered two fish suppers £9 each and the fish had black skin all over it totally disgusting 🤢 when I phoned to complain I was told by mr corola that black skin on fish is normal and he can’t refund me. Very rude man and food disgusting avoid his fish as it may kill you.

Crollas is okay, not great but okay. Expensive though.

I WAS a regular customer, even after all of the terrible things that has been said about them, their pizza boy etc I ordered a delivery through their website with the same phone number name and post code that I always use and have put the wrong street name. The address it went to accepted the free chippy and when I phoned to find out where my dinner was the staff were all very belligerent, and passed the phone from person to person. I was told a refund was impossible or to get a new order, they were very condescending which made me angry and they hung up the phone on me. Absolutely no way to run a business, I spend countless amounts of money here for a mediocre product that they charge double for what it’s worth. Absolutely ridiculous!

Asked for salad didn't get not first time had issues with this takeaway. I didn't even bother phoning as Mr crollas don't care. Chicken does look good but for £10.50! Nah ( was my sons choice even he is no going back) Go elsewhere

Brilliant chippy! I usually get the chicken kebab and it's delicious. Kids usually share a fish supper and enjoy it every time. Customer service is decent too :)

Asked for my sauce in a tub instead of on chips, as felt the sauce made my chips colder on journey home and I explained this. Assistant was happy to do this but what I didn't realise was she charged be 50p for an extra tub of sauce but it wasn't extra, it was the sauce I would have got on my chips, total con. I messaged out of principle but they didn't even have the decency to reply. Customer service is so poor.

Really nice fish and chips with chippy brown sauce on the side. White pudding good too. Staff were friendly and it was easy to get in, order, pay and leave in these COVID affected days.

Gutted really as used this chippy alot. If your going to put your prices up at least make sure everything is fresh. Hamburger supper, chips where hard and batter wasn't fresh. Chips poor as always. Not happy.

My wife and I ordered two fish suppers tonight because our usual L'Aurora in Pathead was closed (Highly recommended) - never again! Neither of us ate even the half of it and even the dog turned his nose up. Overcooked fish that had been clearly left out too long, batter had no flavour, no seasoning, the fish was a bit iffy, and the chips were very greasy and subpar. It was so bad that I had to leave a review, which is something I've never done before. This place is daylight robbery, high prices for terrible food. If your looking for a good fish supper near here, best bet is Alandas Fish & Chip Shop in Prestonpans, about the same prices but the food there is much, much better, comparison is literally like night and day.

I ordered from the website and delivery was earlier than stated which we were happy about as we were really hungry. Have to say the Aberdeen Angus burger was one of the tastiest burgers I've ever had. My son had the Crollas Chicken burger and he said it was delicious. We ordered chips (which were really tasty) and salad and I'd highly recommend this meal to anyone who loves a burger....the roll was great too. I'll definitely order this again.

Had a fish supper the other day and was really nice, was more expensive than most places but the portion size was huge so you get what you pay for ! fish was great and chips were really nice with the sauce in a tub on the side so it didnt make it soggy. I would recommend giving it a try and hope you get the same experience as i did. I would try it before listening to the reviews on here tbh as a lot of people from around here just love a moan and kick off over nothing.

I visited today to buy my dinner. I was greeted with a series of intimidating scowls and felt very uncomfortable. As I was waiting for my food, one of the employee’s (apparently deputy manager) decided to attempt to frighten me by asking quote on quote “do you have a problem with one of my girls”. I do not know anyone who works in this takeaway, all of the workers decided to get involved and humiliate me, one stating that I was “a very troubled little girl”. I felt massively disrespected and I am very disappointed that the owner had got involved in this situation, and did not encourage this to stop. I have never experienced such bad customer service in my life and I will hand on heart never enter this takeaway again! I am only 17 years old and to experience this horrible service is despicable! If I could give 0 stars I would but unfortunately do not get the option.

Disappointed to find a piece of wire in my fish tonight. Could have been a sore one. Also called last week to order a kebab with Donner and chicken, only to be told they can't do that?! Best to avoid!

Had never used shop before so was looking for chippy open near home went up it was 1 in 1 out cue was served really quick food was good staff were really nice shop very clean bit prices compared with other chippy but that's fine wife just needed night of cooking

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!! Would give no stars if I could. Ordered at half 7, still waiting for order at half 10! Called restaurant 3 times, spoke to the delivery driver numerous times, who said they don’t know the area, despite giving directions/postcodes they still couldn’t find our address! Food would have been cold by then anyway. Called restaurant to complain, was spoken to rudely by the manager, who gave so many excuses for our order being late, then confused our order with another order anyway! refused to give us a refund, only offered to make us more food, which would take another half an hour at least to arrive! Refused to remake our order and give us a refund, was told it’s one or another!!! I was then told we would get a cash refund delivered to us?! We ordered directly through Crollas website, not JustEat. Terrible customer service and very disappointing all round.

Waited over 2 hours for a delivery . Call up about it twice was told it was on its way. When it finally arrived it was frozen. Tried to call again and they would not answer the phone. Finally got through after 30 minutes and told them it was cold tried to heat it in micro and it went horrible.told them i had to put it in the bin and was told what can i do about it if i put it in the bin. Will never get anything ever again.

We just had a bad experience with delivery service with this company. Ordered delivery at 7.30pm and didn’t arrive until 9.30pm! This was the second driver who managed to find us. We have used this take out place before and they in the past have been a great service this time however not so much. First delivery driver called and he has used maps to find us. We are country so usually this doesn’t work. When calling to find out where we were it was unfortunately lost in translation, as the driver couldn’t speak much English. When calling back the take out venue they called to say that the drive did in fact knock and talked to someone but they refused the delivery. This was because it was the wrong address. When we explained this we were met with it sounding like it was our fault and not the wrong place delivered to. They tried to deliver the 2nd time with a further 20Mins wait when the place told us the driver was on the way he wasn’t. This then to be met with a average clearly not fresh take out was very disappointing experience. We do understand it’s a hard time for all but having to explain to 3 different people that the address isn’t on maps correctly and then to be provided poor customer service isn’t helpful. Not sure we would recommend at this time.

Received our first delivery through their website. Went for takeaway before but always feel deliveries can be a bit of disappointment. Ordered a mixture of food, doner pizza, fish & chips, sides. Fast delivery and everything was so fresh. All salads & sides in separate dishes, very well presented. Lived in Tranent for 12 years and can’t believe I haven’t ordered online before? Highly recommend and 20% off first online order which saved us £10.

Didn't like the chips,special fish the coating was too thick and hard energy broke my teeth gave up a1/4 way through, will not be visiting this chip shop again,Mr crollas wouldn't be getting any stars from me but I can't get rid of the one star that is showing....

I need to leave a 5star purely because how my issue was dealt with Mr corolla junior spoke with me I took my burnt pizza back he seen it and apologized profusely and couldn't be any more apologetic and gave me a fresh pizza might I add was lovely excellent customer service and lovely food thanks again

Had a delivery of a mixed kebab and pizza. First off no chilli or salad sauce which we ordered and paid for. Had one bite of the chicken it was so undercooked and very pink. Phoned Mr crollas only to be told the driver will pick it up for them to check it but we won't get a refund! Disgusting was extremely rude on the phone. This is our second incident first being one of their delivery drivers smacking into me and swearing and calling me for everything when I was waiting for an order in the shop a while ago. The manager told him to go home for bring so rude but he waited outside and was a little bit intimidating. We will never be back.

Ordered arrived over 35 minutes late and freezing cold. Manager was extremely rude and refused to replace our order because my son had taken a bite from it. Not sure why he needed it back untouched, how else were we meant to find out that it was cold?

The food is ok, the price is well wow 1 fish supper 1 single fish & a btl of chippy sauce (single milk carton) £22.40 I near choked.A 10" Turkish delight pizza & a small chips will set u back £27/28 obviously both include delivery but we are only in prestonpans not timbuktu xx I will eat there again when I win the lottery xx

Purchased a fish supper grudgingly at £8.40, had food before the new refurb and always ok, drove the 5 mins home and fish supper was barely warm. Won’t go back, far too over priced to have to stick food in a microwave

I was in last night for 1 small donner and 2 suppers took 40 minutes for my order to be prepared and when I asked about my order incase it had been forgotten, the woman barked at me she was extremely rude and unapologetic. They had about a dozen staff behind the counter and all I could hear was her shouting and ranting whilst I was waiting on my order. I commented on a local fb page about my experience and this was the reply from the manager.... Just wow! "Sometimes they get angry!!!" Meal was mediocre, kebab was cold and salad wasn't very fresh looking.

Really tasteless food. Had curry chips and they were truly rank. I have eaten at Joe's takeaway on the other side of the high street and it's not much better so to be honest don't get a takeaway in Tranent. Quite pricy too, £4.50 for curry chips, they would be £3.50 max in Edinburgh city!

Have been ordering for a while, however the manager has 0% customer skills. Ended up ordering from a rival take away due to the sheer rudeness from the called owner.

I recieved a text message saying that I was entitled to 20% off my first order if I placed it through their new website. When I tried, my address was not recognised on their website so i rang up to try and resolve the situation. The owner, Stefano, answered the phone and said it was my fault that my address was not listed on their website and hung up on me. I rang up again to explain the situation and he said it wasnt his issue it was mine, even when I explained I wanted to order food from him and why cant he sort it over the phone. All he said was he was busy and could not help, useless management, shocking service, would not order from here.

The manager is a horrible man. Menue said one price and he kept arguing it was different. Have ordered here a few times tje food is ok but your much better with marmaris or joes.

Manager is a horrible rude man , do not buy from here food it poor and they dont even cut the pizzas they make. I spoke to the manager to dispute a price as it was different from what it said on the website, he instantly became aggressive and shouted at me down the phone. My partner then spoke to him, appalled by the way he spoke to me and he got the same aggressive rude attitude, how we are wrong. Its HIS website surely he should know what hes advertising?? He then HUNG UP the phone on us. Do yourself a favour guys, dont waste your hard earned cash on this place. Check out the Facebook page 2,1 out of 5.. says it all really.
