Village Manor Bakery in Oldham

Once my favorite breakfast, not any more, the bacon was so hard, and the sausages wasn't as nice, they must of changed them, the young lady serving is lovely, she remembers everyone, I loved my visit there, we would have breakfast, then buy soup muffins and pies to take away, the bakery is still very good, bring back the old sausages.

Fabulous cafe & bakers, definitely recommend. I've enjoyed everything I've ever eaten from this place whether takeaway or eat in. Food is all homemade and delicious. The Waitress in the cafe is so welcoming & so lovely, she works her socks off. The staff in the shop are also lovely & polite too. If I had to say anything bad about this establishment then, it'd have to be that Im not keen on the chairs in the cafe, if you're shorty like me, you feel like you're sat on the floor and like you're a kid again just being able to see over the table but, other than 10/10 for this place

Great little find, build your own breakfast meant I didn't have to pay for items I don't like. Really good quality food. Looking forward to a weekly visit whilst my little one goes to drama at the school next door.

Wrote a review a couple of years ago about the pork pies which I found to be disgusting, however I was passing so thought what the heck I may have been a bit critical in the past lets try again . The shop was very busy with a great selection of confectionary on offer, once again I ordered a medium pork pie and a large meat pie, being hungry I ate the pork pie sat in the car, I can honestly say it was one of the best pork pies I have had for many years and if this is anything to go by I will be a frequent customer, well done.

The food is nice, but too much salt is used for my taste in the pies. The service is great and speedy though and the staff are very obliging and helpful.

Had a lovely lunch. The chicken curry was out of this world great service

Brilliant bakery, excellent service with lovely food, cooked amazingly. We dined in and although quite small, they accommodated us with having a pram and it added to the cosiness. Would definitely return, even if no seats are available to dine-in, you have the option of take out from a separate entrance next door. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Good value breakfasts, served quickly, food hot and fresh. The lady managing the cafe was friendly and pleasant, well organised and prompt and attentive. Didn't visit the shop this time as the queue was long but have supporters previously and very satisfied with the bread, cakes and pies.

I have been going to this bakery for some time now, I have been very regular, my wife & I used to go about 3 to 4 times a week, & spent a reasonable amount of money, but on my last visit in May I was not impressed with the staff. I buy a selection of pies oven bottom Muffins, cakes etc, but on my last visit, I ordered a reasonable amount if things, then decided I would like 4 oven bottom muffins to take home with me, to which the girl serving me told me outright that I couldn't have any, yet they had just brought a lage tray of them into the shop, I pointed this out and was then told abruptly by four members of staff I couldn't have any, as they where for sandwiches, then if they are only for sandwiches why bring them into the shop? I have not been back since.

Called in the cafe for a bite to eat was very nice.

Good food, great breakfast, server friendly makes you feel welcome, bakery sells the best bread and cakes. veg soup is gorgeous.

Great selection of food The free range eggs where a little pricey at £2.50 where as the butchers next door where only £1.95 Staff need to smile a little.

Massive range of baked offerings. Our favourites are the plate pies. Some things are more expensive than you might expect.

Bought a loaf, 2 scones and 2 small cakes,bread is lovely and fresh and cakes delicious will definitely recommend and be returning 😋

Great place and staff although the lady who served me was a bit grumpy. Pork pies were lovely although the pastry was soft and not what I expected 😐. Cream cakes were delicious and plenty of cream

Update on 26.9.2023.... today i left feeling very dissapointed... i ordered a breakfast i was really enjoying it and half way through i picked up a peice of bacon and started eating it to taste tomatoe ketchup all over it. I dont like ketchup so was very confused . I felt like this had been taken of someone elses plate and recycled. There was no explanation for it and this really put me off so i didnt finish my food and still got charged full price. I did tell the staff member again, but they said there is nothing they can do as the manager isnt in and they could get the manager to ring me but they will only appologise too. I said there is no point then. I wont be rushing back after that. What a shame. I would of been happy to at least get this for half price ot anything , but just to say sorry... ewwww feel sick eating someone elses leftovers.. then the manager appeared and was so rude the way she dealth with me i was sat down and she come and stood over the top of me and i could hardly stand up. She said well they gave you a new proce of bacon fidnt they. They did but by that time, i had already been served someone elses leftover food. She then said well you vould of got a full new one... stop arguing with me. It is wrong ehat happened and it should of been rectified straigh away instead of after an argument... wow....... I wont be back. I'm a very polite girl as you can see my previous review I have loved it here bit not now just something so small can really change people's opinion. Came here because I used to go to the village Manor restaraunt in uppermill. And wasnt to disapoint as it sells the same veg soup and that is the main reason I go. It is beautiful.... everything is beautiful to be honest..... always so busy so you want to go when you can relax and wait if needed as it's defo worth it. The full family love it and I'll be back soon.

Ordered birthday cake from shop to be delivered to Junction Inn, the design was left to them and did not disappoint, and all the guests were very suitably impressed with the taste too. Many thanks to Whitley and team, an altogether pleasing experience. Will recommend without hesitation. I would have given 10 out of 5 were it possible. Thanks again.

Good selection of breads pies and cakes reasonably priced. Independent baker. Cafe good as well. They do an excellent breakfast.

Great selection of homemade pies, large and small. Cakes galore and the best floury muffins. Staff are so cheerful, its a pleasure shopping here. Almost forgot to mention the pork pies. 😋😊

Just love this place.... so much choice - glad I don't live any closer as I'd never be out of there. The best oven bottom muffins! Sausage rolls are just lovely too. And then there's the cakes......my favourite is a vanilla slice followed by egg custard.... you need to give it a try. Always busy so can be a little wait - but worth it.

Best butty shop. Clean, friendly, lots of choice, good portions and always steady flow of customers, which I think is a good sign. 😃

They are the best pork pies I have ever tasted.

Went yesterday 17th of March, the breakfast was nice apart from the bacon which was very hard, I like well done bacon but it was to well done, the bakery is the best, the bread and cake's are lovely, looking forward to my next visit.

Phenomenal customer service, Liv was so helpful with the pies, will be coming back. Can't recommend enough.

Wouldn't let me pre order for a couple of days before Christmas, (not Christmas Eve as advertised on Facebook site) and was told first come first serve basis so arrived early, limited what I could order and then missed items off my order and I only realised when I got home. Rang them up and the customer service was rude, didnt want to accept any fault and had to travel another 20 min journey just to get what I ordered. Spoke to manager and seems to accuse me of leaving the items as they are on the counter still!? But it was the assistant who passed everything to me already bagged up. Since realised been charged for another item that wasnt given to me. I appreciate it is a very busy time but a little courtesy and good customer service goes a long way.

If you're paying by contactless be prepared to spend over a £5. The cheek of this bakery. GREED comes to mind. I wont be going there again the cheeky gits

Wonderful place full of great food. Massive menu, good size carpark and nice little cafe. The cakes are amazing yum yum The homemade pies are delicious too.

Went to this bakery as we are trying to shop plastic free but everything was put in plastic bags and we were questioned and looked down on for not wanting our bread in bags. Won't be going back. Quality was average

Wow, what a bakery! I wish we had one like this in Huddersfield. They have a great selection of pies, sandwiches and buns. Very popular . I ordered a large stake and ale pie to take home for tea, the family loved it, I thought it was very tasty

Pork pie pink meat looked like a well known brand of cat food, potato and meat pie very sweet then salty not impressed, but the amount of customers at the time of visit speaks something about the popularity of the place, very busy but what I purchased was not to my taste. Out of 10, 5.

Good food, the customer service isn't always the best

Short changed in the shop, which is ok, it happens!. Just bad attitude and no apology. Handed over a £20 for 3 pies and 1 cake, given £10.60 change. Management said to staff, “it’s ok I can check the camera” … like I’m dishonest! Wasn’t the fact it was £2O note, it’s the fact I’d been short changed! Nice food Bad attitude!!

Very long wait for the food as the staff didn't seem to know who was doing what. However the sandwiches and pies were worth the wait.

Not been in for 40 years, not since my Mam worked at the then Haynes Bakery. The cakes, bread and pies all looked amazing and the staff were great. Hopefully I'll be back again, this time I'll not wait for another 40 years 🤣

Love Village Manor bakery 😍 oven bottom muffins are our favourite bread but it's all really good. Cakes, pies, bacon butties everything is terrfic
