One extremely rude waitress in there. No thank you, I’ll go to Mangal Express in Rickmansworth where the real food and good service is.

The food was terrible. What happened? Has it been taken over? We couldn’t even eat we had to throw it away. The chicken I had was smelling rancid. It was in a wrap so they just gave me all the odd bits that were lying around. It’s unforgivable. We paid £4 for bread and they just gave us the same amount of bread you get with meals. Don’t order go there in person if you want to eat there don’t order takeaway.

Great prices and a good full platter of delicious barbecue!

Myself and my friend went there and the place was empty. Server tried get us to sit at the front to make the place look busy (right next to the only other people in there). Lamb/kofta tasted off/not good. Chicken was ok. Nothing special. We both felt not good stomach wise and my friend had to call in sick at work and had to go to the doctor it was that bad. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. Also has a two star food hygiene rating I notice!!

Haven’t been here sadly since before Covid, but looks as if I have been missing out ! The restaurant is very clean , has a lovely ambience and the staff are friendly and welcoming The prices have increased a bit, but like most restaurants this is understandable, but the food and service was a a good as ever !! Lovely choice food cooked in an open kitchen, with beautiful fresh salad , rice or chips as a side The onion and bread provided before ordering is a treat in itself and worth visiting for alone !!! I certainly won’t wait as long to go back again !!

wish i could give 0 stars... if you value your health and sanity, I strongly advise against dining at this restaurant. Our recent visit turned into a complete disaster. The food served was not only unappetizing but also caused severe stomach issues for my entire family. The chicken tasted old and expired, indicating a serious lack of quality control in the kitchen. Our waitress seemed more interested in rushing us through our meal than ensuring our satisfaction, displaying an abrasive attitude throughout our interaction. please save your time and dine somewhere else

100% recommend wonderful food and service, popped in to have dinner with my family left with a full stomach and smile on my face. Prices were very affordable and portions were larger than expected. If your looking to have a wonderful experience while enjoying traditional turkish cuisine look no further than villa mangal.

First of all, let me start by thanking you very much. We ate our meals inside, we were very pleased with the smiling and sincere attention of the employees, there are no words to say about what we ate, everything was very nice, it was amazing in taste and appearance. Çok teşekkür ederiz.

The culinary experience was delightful, and I particularly recommend their lamb dish. The staff demonstrated exceptional hospitality, and the ambience was remarkable. I wholeheartedly endorse this establishment to anyone visiting the town for business or leisure.

We love our Mangal takeaway each week! We always get a Mangal special which includes loads of yummy meat over rice - huge portion. With warm bread and a salad. We like to think its one of our healthier takeaway options. Its always delicious such great value for money and the lamb chops are divine. We've recently added the prawn dish they do - the sauce it comes in is scrumptious and a great use of the warm bread to finish it off with. We're lucky to have this restaurant locally!

Love this place! Been coming here for 12 years, the food is always fabulous, healthy, clean and very well prepared, delicious! But the staff make it exceptional - so friendly and welcoming. Just a lovely experience. Highly recommend you try them out. 🙂

I was thoroughly disappointed when I found hair in my soup. I pointed it out to tje waiter but totally ignored me. I am not one for compensation but an apology would have been suffice. The waitress just ignored what I said as it could have been worse than just a hair. It was her attitute that wS most concerning. I live in Amersham and always take my children and grand children there. I will not go ever againor recommend to anyone.

We went tonight to celebrate a birthday, at 7pm it was lively and busy. We hadn’t booked but were sat straight away. We have been before and always enjoy the food, but today it was DIVINE. We tend to go for the Villa Mangal Special for 2, we love how the juices from the meat flavour the rice that it sits on, as the meat is flavoured beautifully and is juicy and moreish. The bread they bring to the table prior is always warm and delicious and I believe it’s complementary. The atmosphere was great, I believe it’s family run and the staff are attentive. My partners face with every mouthful was pure bliss and I’m very pleased we celebrated his birthday here.

Love the food from here, Never has been any issues with eating in or for take away. Along with the great food they also serve great drink. Great Turkish atmosphere, with Turkish music and a warm and friendly service.

What a find! It was recommended by a friend who knows ... and she was right! Perfect spot for family. Despite not knowing Turkish cuisine, the menu was not complicated and we took Farouk's recommendation. Generous portions, freshly made and delicious - we loved it all. Super service and lovely atmosphere. Many thanks team, we will be back.

Visited early on Saturday evening. Warm friendly welcome. Delicious food. Complimentary bread and barbecue onions served before the meal, so tasty. Lovely succulent lamb and chicken served with rice and a lovely salad. Will definitely visit again.

Great food but for the last hour we felt that we were being rushed out the door, topped off by the lights being turned on (at 10pm on a Saturday night). Virtually no dessert menu, that I suspect was because they had closed the kitchen. We provided feedback and was informed that “Staff needed to get back to London!”

Food was great, but the constant leaning over our shoulders to clean the table and take glasses wasn't. I can appreciate efficiency, but being mid conversation and having staff leaning over my my shoulder without so much as an "excuse me" was off putting, you shouldn't be more concerned with doing your job than the comfort of the people you are serving. Used to love this place, but haven't been there in a while (since the slight name change), definitely feels like something has changed, it used to feel more welcoming. As I said, loved the food , but won't be back.

Unfortunately I can’t state many good reasons for writing this review as the quality of the meat was good but expensive with small portions. I’m not a huge fan of salads so when I requested the salad to be removed it left very little on the plate. See picture. Only one thing that was excellent was our waiter Faroke who was pleasant and a good ambassador for the restaurant sorry to say the other guys who were there was sitting around on their phones and not interested in interacting with guests.

Are here today for the first time. Our waiter Farouk could not have been more polite, helpful and friendly, he was absolutely lovely, and couldn’t do enough for us. Had the combo bbq lamb and chicken Shish and meat was to die for, perfectly cooked and tender, really enjoyed it.

I’ve eaten here twice now as the food is incredible and the atmosphere is really friendly. The vegetarian options are superb too, so if you’re veggie this is a great choice. The staff are so friendly that they helped my dad (78 years old and frail) walk through the restaurant to the toilet, making sure he was safe and making great conversation with him. It was really nice to see a busy restaurant take such good care of its customers. If you’re looking for somewhere to eat in Amersham, Village Mangal is a must visit gem.

Amazingly, this was our first time ever visiting this restaurant, despite the fact they have been in Amersham for 12 years! It did not disappoint - the welcome, service, food and attentiveness (without being overbearing) was all excellent. The mixed starters, chicken and lamb kebabs were fantastic. When we arrived at 6pm the restaurant was so quiet, but much busier and buzzy when we left. Pricewise, it was pretty good value too (for this area we live in). We will be back very soon!

I'm not sure if £50 a sharing platter is justified for the amount you get however the food tastes absolutely amazing and the chef's really know what they are doing!

Went with family we had lovely food and the waiter was so friendly, nice and helpful and funny especially as we had young children.

Decent Turkish grill. The staple food such as chicken shish, lamb kebabs, kofte, wings, lamb chops are all excellent but it's let down by some of the starters, for example the calamari was literally 4 rings which were overcooked (chewy). Otherwise, nice place with friendly staff.

I Popped in today for a lunch special, only to find it was no longer available, although part of me did think it was understandable for a Saturday. I was shocked to see that the new menu has dramatically increased in price. Our favourite dish ‘The Villa Mangal’ had increased to a whopping £29, having been £21. That’s 38%. Yikes! I don’t think this is justifiably, even in our current climate. Maybe the staff are feeling the pinch to, as we were clearly reminded on paying that; “The tip is not included in the bill!” Yes the food is beautiful but I think there is a little greed at play. I’m a regular and I think I’ll look else where in regards to price.

We got takeaway and were overcharged by almost 10 pounds (which we only realised once we were home) furthermore the food is really poor quality, the chicken was drowning in tomato sauce and was bland. The Vine leaves were clearly not homemade but came out of a tin.

My philosophy has always been one of; if you can't say something nice don't say anything at all, which should be indicative of just how bad our treatment was in this restaurant. I should've known that things were going badly when halfway through our starter they brought our mains out, "well that's a first", I thought. I pointed out that we'd not yet finished our starter and was told by the manager that they were closing soon. However, it was 22.00 and the sign on the door and published on google was that closing time is 23.00. Then they turn the music off and the house lights on and quickly started to encourage their customers to depart. I was barely 1/4 into my main at this point and was offered a doggy bag, which turned out to be a polystyrene box that I was expected to fill myself, a second first! As I still had some wine to finish, which was actually very good, I attempted to do so, but the owner then started to insist that we left. When I pointed out that the advertised closing time was still some 25 minutes away he said that he'd change it tomorrow. My suggestion to you is to change it to "permanently closed!", because, clearly, the hospitality sector is not for you. Dining out is more than just the food that you are served, it's an experience, hopefully an enjoyable one. I've eaten in many restaurants in many countries and without doubt the disgraceful treatment that we were subjected to in Villa Mangal was the rudest and most appalling that it's been my misfortune to experience.

Greeted warmly on arrival, very attentive staff, absolutely delicious food and very reasonable prices. Oh, and huge main courses too. Free bread to die for. And it’s open on a Monday unlike so many restaurants post-covid. Absolute gem of a place. Book and go there!!

Yummy food as always and good service !

We've been coming over the last few years and had lunch today. Service is good and friendly and most importantly the food is great, fresh and good portion size. Cleanliness is excellent. Lovely clean toilets. In my opinion it is the best Turkish grill you can find.

We used to go to Village Mangal regularly and it was absolutely unbeatable. However the last 3 takeaways have been nothing more than gross. The bread was stale, very small portions of rice, salad was just pickles cabbage and onions and the chicken was dry. We were so dissapointed as the recent one confirmed that we would not be going there again.

A very enjoyable experience overall. High quality authentic turkish cuisine. 5 of us went and in terms of the starter and mains there were no complaints. We had a selection of hot mezze and i shared a mixed grill for 2 which allowed us to have a full compliment of the meats made on the Mangal grill. The turkish tea was fine. Turkish cuisine has some fabulous desserts generally but here the dessert menu is disappointing. I suspect 90% of the desserts are prepared elsewhere and bought frozen. It would be great to see some desserts prepared in-house which are authentic Turkish for example i would rather they have a lovely Kunefe than a generic vanilla cheesecake. The manager/owner is bubbly and welcoming. The waitress we had seemed abrasive and many of us questioned if we had said or done something wrong- may be she was just having a bad day. Overall i would recommend the food here and will likely go again if in the area.

Very tasty Turkish food! Great choice and generous portions for a reasonable price. The service is fast so it is great if you are in a hurry. Lovely Turkish tea. Leave the place for the dessert! Delicious coconut ice cream and rice pudding are really worth it.
